Bex: How to create a range on a DATE char

Hi expert,
into a query I haveat my disposal two date char: 0DATE1 and 0DATE2.
I need to build a Restricted Keyfigure where using the char 0DATE1 as interval
This interval must be as following: 
range-low = 0DATE2
range-high =0DATE2 + 5 (day).
Is possible realize this type of range?

Hi,
Simply build a Customer Exit variable on 0DATE1 and take the 0DATE2 as user input variable.
Now in the customer exit variable under step I_STEP = 2.
Read the value of I_T_VAR_RANGE table for variable 0DATE2 and populate the customer exit variable of 0DATE1.
wa_data-low = wa_var_range-low.
wa_data-low = wa_var_range-low + 5.
wa_data-option = 'BT".
wa_data-sign = 'I'.
append wa_data to e_t_data.
You will get the required range populated.

    See, if already some number ranges saved into one number range, you can split it with other number range like;

    Like in your system it was saved like above.
    now you want to split the above no. range to below number range. I hope you are expecting following way.
    01- 000001 - 50000

    To obtain a good load performance for ODS objects, we recommend that you note the following:
    1. Activating data in the ODS object
    In the Implementation Guide in the BW Customizing, you can implement different settings under Business Information Warehouse -> General BW settings -> Settings for the ODS object that will improve performance when you activate data in the ODS object.
    1. Creating SIDs
    The creation of SIDs is time-consuming and may be avoided in the following cases:
    a) You should not set the indicator for BEx Reporting if you are only using the ODS object as a data store.Otherwise, SIDs are created for all new characteristic values by setting this indicator.
    b) If you are using line items (for example, document number, time stamp and so on) as characteristics in the ODS object, you should mark these as 'Attribute only' in the characteristics maintenance.
    SIDs are created at the same time if parallel activation is activated (see above).They are then created using the same number of parallel processes as those set for the activation. However:if you specify a server group or a special server in the Customizing, these specifications only apply to activation and not the creation of SIDs.The creation of SIDs runs on the application server on which the batch job is also running.
    1. DB partitioning on the table for active data (technical name:
    The process of deleting data from the ODS object may be accelerated by partitioning on the database level.Select the characteristic after which you want deletion to occur as a partitioning criterion.For more details on partitioning database tables, see the database documentation (DBMS CD).Partitioning is supported with the following databases:Oracle, DB2/390, Informix.
    1. Indexing
    Selection criteria should be used for queries on ODS objects.The existing primary index is used if the key fields are specified.As a result, the characteristic that is accessed more frequently should be left justified.If the key fields are only partially specified in the selection criteria (recognizable in the SQL trace), the query runtime may be optimized by creating additional indexes.You can create these secondary indexes in the ODS object maintenance.
    1. Loading unique data records
    If you only load unique data records (that is, data records with a one-time key combination) into the ODS object, the load performance will improve if you set the 'Unique data record' indicator in the ODS object maintenance.

    Hi,
    OK60 indeed is used for creating number ranges for FI/CO earmarked funds transactions. You should press on 'Pencil' button and create an interval. If for some reasons, you cannot do this via this transaction, try using SNRO transaction, with IRW_BELEG parameter. If this also fails, then apply to BASIS team to check your authorizations.

    What is the prupose of the WHERE -clause conditions:
    and (TO_CHAR(abs(vlh.SERVICING_DATETIME-vlh.ARRIVAL_DATETIME )* 1440,'99999999.99'))>=60
    and (TO_CHAR(abs(vlh.SERVICING_DATETIME-vlh.ARRIVAL_DATETIME )* 1440,'99999999.99'))<=90? It looks like you're trying to only get waiting times between 60 and 90 minutes; but since you're comparing strings to numbers (the expressions to the left of the >= and <= operators are strings, but the expressions to the right are numbers) you might be getting something you didn't expect.
    If you want to assign one of the numbers 1, 2, 3 or 4 to each row, depending on its wait time, you could always use CASE, like this:
    CASE
        WHEN  vlh.SERVICING_DATETIME - vlh.ARRIVAL_DATETIME <  (1 / 48)  THEN 1  -- 1/48 day = 30 minutes
        WHEN  vlh.SERVICING_DATETIME - vlh.ARRIVAL_DATETIME <  (2 / 48)  THEN 2

    In certain circumstances, you can do something a little shorter.
    For example, if servicing_datetime is never earlier than arrival_datetime, you can get the same results as above like this:

    I have a requirement to create a crystal report with between dates using dynamic parameters.
    I am getting data from 'BEx Query' where already filters were defined on Date field. So While I am creating a crystal report these filters are displaying under 'Parameter Fields' automatically as Static. When I execute the report I am getting these Date's as Dropdown box. But as per the 'help' in crystal reports, static values won't get updated if any changes were taken place in backend system.
    I have created a Dynamic parameter 'StartDate', but the values are not getting populated in Dropdown box.
    Please let me know how to achieve this requirement.

    Iu2019m having Crystal Report Designer XI R2 SP4. Iu2019m trying to create a report using XML data source stored on disk. This is a customer order report and the xml is structured in such a way that it has an order details header part (master) and then it has several order lines (detail). One order line can have several order line characteristics (detail-detail). So what I need to know is now I can design this layout from the designer. If this was done using views I can do it with sub-reports but using xml data this seems to be different. Can you help me to design this layout? I have included the xml and xsd as well.

    Thank you for the response and ideas you have given me so far. I can get the fetch the data from the data source without any problem. That is I do the following,
    1.     New Report
    2.     From Create New Connection-> XML
    3.     Provide the u201CLocal XML Fileu201D and have u201CSpecify Schema Fileu201D checked -> Next
    4.     Provide the u201CLocal Schema Fileu201D  -> Finish
    Then I can see the following under XML
    + CUSTOMER_ORDER_CONF_REP_REQUEST
            CUSTOMER_ORDER_CONF_REP_REQUEST
         CUSTOMER_ORDER_CONF_REP_REQUEST/CUSTOMER_ORDER_CONF_REP

    For this point onwards only I need help. How do I group, add fields and design the layout so I can get an report output as follows.

  • How to create a single large bitmap data at run time?

    Hi All,
    Please help me in overcoming the issue that is mentioned below.
    Requirement:   Create single very large bitmap data which contain some 30 PNG images loaded and for each image it should have some text.  Images and text are loaded dynamically (AS2 code. Images are stored in a remote server). The bitmap data display should show 8 images at a time and corresponding text. We can see rest content by scrolling (kinetic scroll is implemented). How can I go for it?
    Some questions:
    · Is there any limit for size of bitmap data ( As per link there is restriction on the height of the bitmap we can create in AS2 (max value is 2880 which is not enough for some 30 element list http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashLite/2.0_FlashLiteAPIReference2/WS84235ED5-9394-4a52-A098 -EED216C18A66.html ) How to overcome this limitation?
    · If we create individual bitmap data for 30 individual PNG files, we find some jerks in scroll. How can we have smooth scrolling?

    Thank you very much for the reply.
    The number of bitmaps are not 30 always. It can vary in real time and since all PNG files are stored in a remote server which are also vary during runtime; so we can not predefine the number of child movieclips. It could be 10 at some duration and may be 20 at some other time.
