Bex iview previews fine in content adm, displays wrong template from role

Hi All,
I have created a Bex iview which is delta linked onto a page. The page previews fine from the content admin but when it is displayed from the role, it displays a standard generic template, not the report that i expect.
Also, I have noticed that it will display fine when the iview is assigned directly to the role, rather than assigned to a page which in turn is assigned to the role. I need the report to display correctly from a page, as I need it to be displayed along with another iview.
It should be noted that it displays fine in our DEV and QAS systems.
Anyone any ideas as to what may be the cause of this?

Bex iView does not show changes made in web templates

Hello,
I have a Bex iView that presents a web template which is exposed in two portals.
I made a certain change in the web template in portal A and I can see the change through the Bex iView in this portal.
I than transfered the change to portal B and I can see this change at the Web application designer's code when it is connected to portal B.
The problem is that I can't see the change through the Bex iView in portal B, it keeps presenting the old version of the web template. Also, if I preview it from WAD, which opens it in the portal, it shows the old version as well.
<b>I've already tried/verified the following:</b>
1. It's not a client related issue as it happens to all clients.
2. I have tried clearing both the client and the portal's pcd caches.
3. No cache whatsoever is configured in this iView's properties (Cache Level: None, Cache Validity Period: 0,0,0,-1, Allow Client-Side Caching: No).
4. When I run the iView in debug mode in the application integrator I can't see anything unusual I can think of. Also, I can see there that it points to the correct web template.
5. Retransported the web template from server A to server B.
What else can be done here? Any ideas...?

How to display the BI query in full area in Bex iView

Hi to all,
I have implemented BI query in Bex iView. While preview of iView the BI query is not displayed in full vertical and horizontally length.
It is displayed in half horizontal and half vertical with scroll bar.
Is there any way, I can display the BI query full length in horizontally and vertically in Bex iView.
Does any setting required in iview, page, workset or roles so I can display BI query data in full area.
I shall be thankfull to you for this.

i have created IVIEW and then assign it to PAGE and the assign PAGE to WORKSET and Created a ROLE and assign WORKSET to ROLE , then to user.
i have also set the property of IVIEW and PAGE to
Appearance - Size
Height Type = Full_page
But when i Preview the BI Query in Portal , the horizontal height of BI query is not showing full .
rather it is showing half Horizontal display of BI query with scroll bar.
I need that BI query should display full in iview without scroll bar.
Does any more setting in need to do, and where ?

KM Document iview is fine in preview but not with role

HI,
I am facing problem with KM Document iview .
I have uploaded .gif file in root/documents/myfolder/text.jif
I have cereated Km document iview and set the parameter path to documnet : /documents/myfolder/text.jif
when i preview the iview it si fine . When i attach the iview to role it is throwing "page can not be displayed" error .
I tried with URL iview, KM DOc iview, KM Navigation iview . Previw is fine
BUt the same iview from role is not displaying .
What could be the reason .

FPN: No ESID found error while invoking BEx iviews for Reports.

Hi Everybody,
We have a federated portal network [FPN] setup. We are EP 7 SP15 for both Consumer portal and BI producer portal.
The content is delivered to users via RRA Remote Role Assignment ] in consumer portal for BI portal roles from Producer bi portal.
The problem is when we are trying to access BEx iviews for Reports i get the error: Internal error No esid found.
The BEx iview for Queries are running fine but the problem is for BEx iviews for Reports in consumer portal.
All reports are running fine in producer BI portal.
Consumer portal AD UME and producer portal is ABAP UME.
Please help to fix this.

I also wanted to point out that we are not experiencing this issue in our Dev enviornment, and all content was transported to Q. Only in Q are we getting this issue.

1.EP 5.0 with administrator privileges, select Content Admin->iViews from the top level navigation. Click on the Import button and navigate to the location of the iView file saved earlier.
By default, the BW system field (found on the Java tab) will be populated by the logical system name. To change this entry in the iView, click on the Edit link to the far right of the iView entry in the iView overview page (see step 1 on how to navigate to this screen) and select the Java tab.
2.Click on Import. You should get this screen. By default, the iView will be added to the channel BI Web Applications.
3.Create a page to contain the newly added iView by selecting Content Admin -> Pages from the navigation bar.
4.Click on New and enter a name and page ID, Click Apply.
5.Once the confirmation dialog disappears, click on the Content tab, check the iView created in the previous step as well as the Visible property and click Apply.
6.Click on the Layout tab and select the whole page layout and click Apply.

Role content is displayed as blank screen for one user

Hello,
Portal version is 6.0 SP 18.
A page (content 2 iviews; one iView is UWL) was added to a role and assigned to users. Although everybody can see the page via role on the portal, one user gets blank window. Page is not displayed for her and no error message is shown. But if the same user previews the portal page under the portal content, teh same page is displayed properly.
Where can this blocking be for this user? I clean cache of UWL and all personalizations; role removed from user and added again. Also I removed the page from role and add again as Deltalink. Result is the same.

Bridge gallery previews fine but doesn't work online

hello, i am setting up a bridge gallery on my site. it displays fine when i preview it from dreamweaver but when i put it up online it looks very small and seems align itself to the right for some reason. i have checked all my code and can't get it right.

There is a little fragment of something that shows towards the right - about 10 pixels wide. Is this the Bridge gallery? Nothing clickable. Tried it in both Chrome and Firefox. By the way, in Firefox, your logo doesn't show.

Iframe contents not displaying in FF Windows 7 or Mac

I've read almost all posts about frames not displaying in FF, however, I have an odd issue. While I am able to get the iframe to display, NOT ALL of its contents is displaying. It's odd. A sample page is below, click on the virtual tour tab and you will see what I mean. All the code does show up. This also happens for another page with similar type of code. This works fine in Chrome/IE both PC and Mac. Any help would be appreciated.

The content is there, but is hidden with display:none style rule, so it looks that if there is script running to show this content then it doesn't finish properly.

TOC Topic content not displayed in WYSIWYG Editor

I use RoboHelp X5. When I click a topic in the TOC pane I
expect to see its contents displayed in the WYSIWYG Editor. Instead
the WYSIWYG pane is grey and the TrueCode pane is blank with a
cursor flashing on the upper left corner!
I searched for some similar issue on this forum and could not
find it. However, I did gather that I could use another editor by
right clicking a topic when in the Project tab and selecting one of
5-6 editors. I tried RoboHelp TrueCode and was amazed and relieved
to see the code and content for the topic displayed in the TrueCode
pane...so I went a step further and tried the WYSIWYG editor and
wonder of wonders, the topic content was displayed.
Can someone please tell me what is going on? Should I
reinstall RoboHelp X5? Why does the topic content not display when
I click the topic from the TOC tab?

Welcome to the forum.
There have been posts about this but maybe your forum search
history is not set to go back far enough.
Rather than right click and selecting RH True Code, at the
bottom of the editing pane there is a true code tab which will
quickly enable you to see your code is still safe. That said, if
you then click WYSIWYG, you don't get the view restored, usually.
Maybe your way has an advantage.
It's one of those things that happens now and again. I don't
think reinstalling will help. I have had it happen several times in
a day and then you go months with it working just fine.
I don't believe anyone has ever lost any data. At worst you
just have to close RH and reopen it.
For what it is worth, I haven't seen this happen in RH7.

Preview: Table of Contents is ignoring formatting

Preview is missing a feature. Before going further I’ll admit it is a minor feature, but nonetheless, the omission needles me. The bug description below is deliberately thorough, to allow other to reproduce the problem and variations of it.

The relevant line of the PostScript ends “/F i /OUT pdfmark”, which makes an ‘Outline’ item, that is, an item which appears with View > Table of Contents. Observe the “/F i”, which sets the formatting, over the four pages i looping from 0 to 3 in steps of 1. This /F defines the Formatting: 0 = Plain, 1 = Italic, 2 = Bold, 3 = Bold and Italic; as explained on page of 27 of http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/pdfmarkReference_v9.pdf

Much about the Acrobat is messier than Preview, but it does correctly display this aspect of the PDF. Please could Preview do so as well?
Going back to the PostScript one could also add something like “/Color [0 0.6 0]”, which would set the colour of the text to dark green. That seems to be ignored by both Preview and Adobe Pro 8 (I don’t have v11 to test). Again, a fix would be welcomed.
And why do I care? Because the long PostScript program I maintain (see www.jdawiseman.com/placemat.html for manual and code) uses these features.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

BEx iView doen't function when opened in a new window

Hi all-
I have a BEx iview (BI 7.0) running in Enterprise Portal (7.0). Everything works fine until I choose the iView personalization option to open the iView in a new window. The window opens correctly, however all of the BI functions (filter, settings, variable screen, etc) no longer work.
The browser errors I receive are:
-sapbi_dd_smartHoverParents.length is null or not an object
-Access is denied (with URL to backend BI server)
Any ideas?

this is a personalization issue or in other words personal folders in KM issue.
make sure your eu_role has the right permissions....
pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role/com.sap.km.home_ws/com.sap.km.hidden/com.sap.km.urlaccess/com.sap.km.docs
this path should have the everyone user group and end user permissions ticked.

Business Workplace Inbox : Mail Content Not Displayed

Friends,
We have a problem in displaying contents of the mail(SAP Inbox) in one of the PC's. When we reply w/refernce to that message the content is displayed properly. And also the same mail content is displayed properly in another PC's for the same user.
We thought this is a GUI problem and re-installed SAP GUI(all components) but still the issue exists.
Any other settings are required to be done to solve this problem? Can anyone please help us solving the issue?
Note: we are using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 for creating the mail notification and the content is passed as 'RAW'.

1) Is the problem only with the message being sent through custom code using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1? What happens if you send a message using SAPOffice?
2) Are the patch levels of the GUI same on both machines? Are you sure both PCs are configured exactly the same? Especially wrt to Windows & IE patches. I vaguely remember there were some issues a while ago with some IE patches. Normally in most client environments the desktops upgrades are controlled centrally and users do not have admin rights. Make sure the user has not done upgrades/installs on the PC in question. If that were the case the PC may needs to be reimaged.
BTW - What version are you on R/3 and SAPGUI?

ESS IView access to ERP - login page displayed and not access possible

Hello Colleagues,
we have to setup Employee Self-Service (ESS) Portal as well ERP.
All required steps seems to be performed but we still facing one access issue.
If I try to enter the Link My Employees under SAP Portal > Employess Self-Service > Travel and Expenses it get an web login (ITS) from the ERP system and not direct access to the service. In addition I am not able to login with defined user an password.
If I try the to enter the service directly (test service) at transaction SICF on the ERP (ECC) System itself it works fine as well with defined user and password.
If both IE Browser Windows are open, then I am able to see the service (empty table) unter My Employees at portal after click again under Link SAP Portal > Employess Self-Service > Travel and Expenses > My Employees.
So I think the general connectivity works fine but some thing still wrong with maybe IView access/permissions/roles?
Any Ideas?

This means that your Single sign on is not working correctly.
Things to check:
1. From Portal System Administration - for the system object created for connecting to the backend system - try to perform the connection tests and make sure they pass.
2. Access your portal with a Fully Qualified Domain Name (for example: myportal..mysubdomain.mydomain:port/irj/portal instead of just myportal:port/irj/portal) - this should most likely resolve your issue - since you see the error only for WD4A applications.
3. Make sure that the host name you have configured in the portal system and the host name with which you access your portal are in the same domain.
Also, check the SSO related profile parameters in the backend system:
login/accept_sso2_ticket=1
login/accept_sso2_ticket=0
login/password_change_for_SSO=0
