Bex Queries not transported into prod

Hi,
I have transported few queries to prod thru transport conn, created bex transportable req and assigned to package and transported to prod
but i could not able to find those queries in prod
can anyone give some suggestions wht could be the problem or am i missin something

I have already tried with Query Designer --> open Queries .... there were no queries and even i am unable to find infoarea's (but i can see the infoarea's in RSA1) and searched with Metadata Repository.. there were no queries
i have transported successfully
i have not transported roles along with Queries

How do I delete old Bex queries not used within 13 months?

Hello all,
I have a large number of Bex queries that are no longer used (3000 - three thousand). I'd like to delete any query that has not been used in 13 months.
Can someone provide some guidance?
Also, is there anyway to archive old reports?

The RSZCOMPDIR table contains this information - thank you.
The only remaining challenges are:
1) how do I interpret or convert the values in the LASTUSED field? The numbers are of the magnitude of 20,060,601,210,130.
2) Once I determine which queries were not used within the last 13 months, how do I delete them? Is it as simple as writing a SQL statement against this table?

Queries not transported to QA?

Here is an issue where the some of the queries have transferred to QA from DEV but one query is not transported to QA.How to analyse this one.But the web template which has used this query is transported.Help to analyse this one.

I hope you have imported the Request also . So check the log of the Imported Request(which has the concern Query) . Definately you can find some error message which was raised while system was doing the importation of the concern Query and thats why It was not imported the query.
Once you solve the Problem( for ex : Varible is not avialable in the target system) then recollect(forceble) the query and transport it.

Scheduling transports into prod

Hello,
We are running Solution Manager 7.0 SP15 and we have a requirement to import normal corrections into the production systems on Sunday morning at 4:30.
I for one do not want to wake up every Sunday to change the maintenance cycle of each system to "go-live" and then back to "development with release" in order to allow the transports to production.
There must be a way to automate/schedule this process.
Management wants to use only normal corrections for the Sunday transports.

Why would you want to change your Maintenance Cycle back to in development with release?
Once you finish your maintenance cycle every week you should create a new one
In order to move the transports into Q or P automatically you can either schedule a job for the report /TMWFLOW/SCMA_BTCH_SYNC_UC which runs every 10mins and thus imports all transport for a specific Project for a particular System and Client.
Another possibility is to schedule the automatic mass import of all transport in the Q/P-import queue, via STMS. This will schedule the Report TMS_BCI_START_SERVICE (jobname TMS_0000000001TMS_TP_IMPORT)

I am transporting a cube with data flow before. After successful transportation of the objects Datasource showing is under DEV client not under Prod client.
What might be the problem? Whether Am I missing any steps?

There should be 2 Columns: 1) Orginal Logical system: Here you should enter the Source system's Logical name of BI DEV System( i.e DEV R/3 )
2) Target Source system :Here you should enter the Source system's Logical name of BI Prod System( i.e Prod R/3 )

SAP BW Bex 7.3 Queries not working with Enterprise Portal (EP) 7.3 ABAP Stack
Dear Portal Gurus,
we want to integrate SAP BW Bex Queries 7.3 into an Enterprise Portal 7.3 EP ABAP Stack only installation.
1) We have Done SSO between EP And BI System
2) System Object is Created
3) When we trying to create Iview of BEX 7.3 report, its executing that report on BI server, we don't have java stack on BI System
4) We have updated the required table in Bi system for executing the report on EP
5) RFC is OK, System Object Test is OK, Report is working independently from Business Explorer, but not working from EP
There no irj services available on BI system, as it is only ABAP stack.
Can anybody help us in achieving our requirement

To integrate portal with BI you need to perform BI Portal integration steps.

BEx Query objects transported from Dev to Prod Test do not overwrite

Hello,
I'm migrating BEx queries that were developed in a Dev instance and then packaged and imported into a prod test environment. The queries that already exist in qual are not overwritten with the changes, and the transport imports successfully. New queries import just fine and without issue. I'm not sure if this is a problem with how I am packaging the query for transport or some level of pre-work that is not being done in Prod test. Basis has confirmed that they are allowing re-writes when Importing.
Any suggestions?

Hi ,
Whenever we create a query in the System it generates reference ID's ( ELTUID,SELTUID,COMPUID etc) in backend.
For e.g.if you create a query in your quality system (Z_TEST) it will have a COMPUID generated for it (e.g ABCD).
Now when you create a query in Dev system (with the same technical name Z_TEST) a new COMPUID will get generated (e.g EFGH)
So when you transport Z_TEST to QUALTY ,it will create a new entry against COMPUID.thus having two instances of the same query.So best option would be to delete the old instance after transporting the new instance.
This wil solve your problem.

Closed Activities not transported - How to get stuff into new track?

Hi, folks!
We encountered some problems with an SCA-export from ASM system leaving some not transported, but closed activities on DEV CONS behind.
How can we arrange to integrate the content of these closed activities, which don' t show in CMS any more, into a new track?

I meant the assembly system. The activities haven' t been transported, but seem to be closed in CMS.
To clear the situation a little more, let me explain what has happened: A colleague created a SCA, deployed it on a runtime system and found out that some screen elements, which were present on development runtime system, are missing.
We figured out that there are some actitivies haven' t been transported to assembly system and are yet closed and not available for transport in CMS.
Now, our two questions would be
1) will releasing and trasnporting dummy activity to assembly to force all changes reach SCA work?
2) will copying the source DC DTR workspace to destination workspace work? (we have problem not being able to delete folders in DTR as they are created by CMS)

Can I create one single crystal report using 2 bex queries

HI all,
I have 2 bex queries and has to develope a single crystal report .Is it possible???? If so, than how to connect two bex queries and develope one single crystal report.Any other option is also fine. I mean ....no need to use crystal..( I can go for one single webi..).But need to know the approach ...
or else...can I create universe on 1 bex and other universe on other bex ..and go for one single webi report..
Only problem is client is particular about one single report(either crystal or webi)
if i go for webi ...I know we can use link universe option but I dont know whether it works fro OLAP environment.
Please let me know if I can link OLAp universes and go for 1 single webi report.

You can use either CR or WebI.
In CR Designer create the report using the SAP toolbar (Create report from query) based on the 1st BEx query. Then use the Database expert (first entry in the Database menu) to add an additional connection to your 2nd BEx query (+Create new connection->SAP BW DX query). You can then join the results of the 2 different queries in the database expert also.. Please note that if you do NOT want to join the result sets, then it is more efficient to use subreports. Create two different CR reports, each based on one of the BEx queries and then use one of those as your main report and insert the other one into it as subreport. Once embedded you do not have to keep the separate .rpt file of your second report.
For Webi you must build 2 universes, each based on one of your BEx queries. In your report you can add multiple queries based on different universes. You can join the results sets here by using the Merge dimensions button in the report editor area.

PS; Keep in mind that joining a large number of rows at report level (either in CR or WebI) can cause performance problems. If this is your requirement, how many rows do you expect to get back from each individual query?

Tax Related BeX Queries in BC

Hi All,
Has anyone worked on queries (from Business Content) that are ralated to Tax, Witholding Tax, VAT etc.
Some of the Report Headers are:
1. Generic - Advance Return for Tax on Sales/Purchases
2. Generic - Generic Withholding Tax Reporting
3. Country Specific - Goods Movements BetweenBusiness Places.
4. Country Specific - Refundable Withholding Tax
5. Country Specific - VAT Summary Report
6. Country Specific - VAT Time Stamp Report
7. Country Specific - Withholding Tax frm Business Earning
Please provide pointers to the available Business Content related to any of these.

By having BEx queries on BPC cubes, I thought the revenue will be negative for example and balance sheet items will be double counted over time. I am not sure if SAP is officially supporting this BEx on BPC cubes ?
When I get data from Legacy systems into BW cubes, I would like to validate( and raise exceptions if required) the imported transactional data. Any other way to accomplish these with BEx queries on BPC cubes ?

Need to improve performance for bex queries

Dear Experts,
Here we have bex queries buit on BW infoset, further infoset is buit on 2 dsos and 4 infoobjects.
we have built secondary indices to the two dso assuming will improve performance, but still query execution time is very long.
Could you suggest me on this.

But as I have mentioned the infoset is based on DSOs and Infoobjects. So we could not perform on aggregates.
in RSRT
I have tried look in read mode of the query i.e. in 'x', which is also valid as qurey needs to fetch huge data.
Could you pls look into other possible areas, in order to improve this.

How to create Universe on BEx Queries

Hi,
I am very new to create Universe based on SAP BW Infocubes or BEx queries. I actually need to create reports based on BEx queries. I am able to log into SPA BW using Universe connection and I see only Infocubes. Where can I find BEx queries. Is there any specific document that helps here.
Please help me.

Hi,
You can select the queries which are part of the cubes. And make sure that the query is part of the cube.
If still not listing then from Bex Query designer open the query from the cube and enable 'set to allow external access' in the properties of a query.
Now, the query should be available in the Universe Designer.

Connect to Bex query after logging into Web service

Hello experts,
After logging into the web service, I see connections for all HANA and BW infoProviders.
If I click HANA OLAP connection, I see the "next" button. If I click connections to BW InfoProviders, the "Next" button is grayed out, I only have "OK" to click which takes me to the infoProvider.
I know if I choose "Local System", I can log into BW and find BEx queries.
Is this by design? Can't we get list of Bex queries under the connection we highlight somehow?

Getting BEx query header data into Xcelsius for line chart Category Labels?

Hello - Is it possible to get header data from BEx queries into Xcelsius so they can be used for Category Labels in a line chart?
We have a BEx query that displays 16 weeks of shipment trends by column and text variables are used to display the respective date selection for each of the weeks in the query header but When connecting QaaWs to Xcelsius, the header row does not get displayed.
When using LiveOffice, the header row seems to come thru with the correct dates for each of the weeks but if you are stacking more than one connection than you will get an extra header row for each connection.
Are there any tricks to hide a header row in a LiveOffice document?
Is there anyway to display the header row from QaaWs in Xcelsius?
Any other work arounds?

Below are my inputs...
-->Using QAAWS you will not be able to get the header data, so you will have to maintain header data manually in Xcelsius (Spreadsheet).
-->Using Live office you will be able to get the header data, and if you are using multiple live office connections, then you need to use cell reference formulas and format the spreadsheet (Xcelsius) as you require.
