BEx Query in Browser - decimals and thousand separators switched

I have a BEx query that I open up in a regular IE browser. I connect to the BW system and my query appears.
However, for all the Key Figures, the decimals and thousand separators are switched.
Example,
$323,67
$2.893,54
10,0 EA
12,60%
Any suggestions on the fix? Results appear normal in BEx.

Hello Rishmal,
Check the menu Sytem-> User Profile -> Own Data -> Default Tab-> Change Decimal Notation.
To maintain user profile, you need to use transaction SU01. Log out after making the changes and then log in to make the changes effective.

Different decimal and thousand separators in contract items

Hello!
I have problem with printing contract in SmartForm. Contract consists of many items and values are printed with different decimal and thousand separators. For example value in first item is printed as "40.000,00" and in second item as "40,000.00". All items are in same currency and belongs to same vendor.
The same happens if I format the output by using the <b>write</b> command into character field.
Why it happens and how can I solve it?

Thank you for your help. I tried with SET COUNTRY 'xx' and get after that all items in same format (problem was that first item is different that others, very strange), but problem was still that now I have different format if I write number directly from internal table or from variable after used WRITE command (I have point as decimal separator for example for quantity and comma as decimal separator for example for price in one item line for invoice).
Then I used SET COUNTRY SPACE which reset to user settings, and this solve problem - now I have all numbers written in same way, with one sign (for example comma) as decimal separator.
It works now, but I still dont understand why that happens.
I tried to give you reward points, but I don't see where can I do that (I'm new here).
Yesterday I saw that place, but today I click everywhere on your answer and can't see where are that, I remember tree kind of points???

Smartforms - dealing with decimal and thousand separators

Hi,
trying to reuse one of the standard SAP Smartforms - LB_BIL_INVOICE in an ECC 6.0 Unicode system I faced a problem with decimal and thousand separators for currency/quantity fields. In fact, default settings in User profile are not taken in consideration when printing this form. I have changed all the possible settings in the user profife and (after logoff/logon) nothing changes in my output.
Just to be sure I tried to output the invoice with the original SAP smartform LB_BIL_INVOICE and the things were the same - means output takes wrong settings for decimal/thousand separators.
For clarity I created a simple form with a single currency field and everything behaves well as expected. So this points me to the direction fo find out what is wrong with the LB_BIL_INVOICE. I downloaded the form into XML and checked the code, further uploaded it into a new one - no success.
My question is:
Is there a way to manipulate or overwrite default settings for decimal/thousand separators within smartform, and if yes - how to do this?
I almost finished my quite complex form and wouldn't like to rewrite it from scratch.
FYI: I'm not a Smartform expert, by have created/overwiten more than 15 different forms accros different systems - 4.6 C/D, 4.7, ECC 6.0 non-Unicode/Unicode, and never faced such an issue.
I faced significant smartform 'improvement' in the ECC 6.0 release - especialy for text elements. The new integrated MS word control gives me a lot of throubles. According to this - is there an up-to-date documentation (even link to SAP course is acceptable) according to Smartform development in ECC 6.0?

Hi,
I took a quick glance into the print program, and the print program do a set country setting to reciving country. This will give you the separators that are confugured for this country.
But if you change the print program and clear parameter country, the smartform will use the users settings instead.

What I understood is like :
You have two queries and both gives same results but one of the query having a parameter.
You have one report which is using query1. Now you want that report to be copied as Report2 and use Query2 instead of Query1.
If the this is the issue, then you copy Report1 as Report2 and go in Database and change the Data source location to Query2.
Hope this will help you. If my understanding is wrong then give us the work flow.

Bex Query WAD Iview - Look and feel.

I've put a query into a WAD and I've published the WAD as an ivew. But i want the look and feel to be "Corporate" and not use the SAP standard blues etc. I have created a custom them but when I preview the iview the query in the WAD is blue rather than the green I want and have used in my theme. I created a custom stylesheet and tried using &style_sheet in the Iview but the bulk of the query is still blue. I tried putting a line in the XTHML just below <HEAD> that said <link rel="STYLESHEET" type="text/css" href=""bwmimerep:///sap/bw/MIME/customer/stylesheets/My_Theme_For_Portal.css" but that doesnt seem to work either. The bulk of the data displayed in the query remians blue. I just dont think it's referencing my stylesheet.
Any ideas? Help is much appreciated.

What I would do is publish the WAD as a template in your system and then call your query like:
...?query=zbm_m001_q001&template=zmywad_temp
or
make the default template that is called your WAD - zmywad_temp

Couple things to remember: in your new default template make it so all queries can use it and don't default it to a specific query unless you want you users to get a different look on that query.

BEx query: CO-PA data and hierarchy

We need to design a report in BEx.
There is a hierarchy in play, with let us say 2 levels. 2 Key figures are determined.

Regarding the key figures let us explain it more detailled, they are designed depending on hierachy level values:
Key figure 1 should be be restricted by Mix0 and Mix1 (hierarchy level 2). On the other way it should also be restricted on Mix1 (level 2).
I have defined a query which doubles the keyfigures, instead of 2 there are at all 4 keyfigures. Executing the query you will see the 4 keyfigures correctly in a line (row area).
If you add the charateristic with collapsed hierarchy you will also see the these key figures correctly, but if you extract the hierarchy level from 1 to 2, you will recognize that the doubled keyfigures will be shown (with no values -> correct).
Question: Do you know a way how to eliminate these "duplicate" key figure rows when using the hierarchy? Is there another way to solve this problem?

I have created a second charateristic which determines the logic of level 2 from the hierarchy characteristic (characteristic no. 1).
Then I additionally restricted the key figures with the relevant values of character no 2.
Unfortunately it doesn't work, still the same effect.
This is strange, as it is not really logic.
In the screen you can see KFG1 and KFG2, next column the new characteristic.
KFG1 is restricted additonally on value 1 of this new characteristic.
As you can see, the values 2, 3 and 4 are still displayed.
Do you know the reason for this?

Decimals and thousand seprators for keyfigure

I have keyfigure called revenue
which consists of the data like this
77,318.633 in the query
where as the same value is shown as 77.318,633 in the webtemplate
as I want to show the revenue with only 3 decimals I have selected no. of decimals to 3 then my query o/p will be
77,318.633 but the web template is showing me the values like 77.318,633 .actuall the web template is showing the correct value but I need only the values to be displayed
like this 77.318 it should not consider values after comma
how can be this done

hi priya..
Check the default settings of currency and date of your USER id in SU01 .
then Use the command
SET COUNTRY 'IN' for INR currency printing or 'US' for US currency printing in the Code so that the correct format of the amount is written in the SF.
or
Right click on the key figure and try setting the Scaling Factor and Decimal Places properties.
go to SU01 - defaults - decimal notation - and change it to desired notation
If you have issue with all the key figure display then use the SU01 method.
if only for one key figure then use the keyy figure properties method.

Count and Percentile calculations for various Lines in BEx Query.

I working on a BEx Query at the moment and the output is required in the format below:
This and another report (which will be displayed above this report) will go into a WAD eventually.
I have Key Figure for 'Document Count' but not sure how to get the percentage displayed in the second line and also for the Top 3 Reason Codes (not having anything displayed across 'Top 3 Reason Codes' though). I have tried Selection and other ways but nothing worked so far.
Do I have to use Cell Editing by any chance or is there a way to work-around this.

You can achieve your report format by creating a Structure in rows with Cell definitions. Define each cell in COunt Document KF according to the row logic.

Giving Error while opening BEx Query Designer.

Hi all,
               A user is trying to open BEx Query Designer 7.0 and she is getting this error
" SAP BEx Query Designer standalone has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were middle of something, the information you are working on might be lost. "
She is not having issues while opening BEx Analyzer. She is having Office 2010. This doesn't seem to be compatibility issue with the Office. This BEx was not installed on her machine 2 weeks back and it was working fine until now.
As a first re-solution i told her to get it re-installed but still she is getting the same issue.

There is no relation between Office VS Query Designer. Only with BEx Analyzer and MS Excel.
My suggestion is.
If you don't have version 7.20 of SAPGUI and Business Explorer, please download the installer.

BBS BEX Query to R3 Transaction - Connect to SAP GUI for HTML not to R3 Backend-TA

Hi Experts,
I try to customize a report-report-interface from a bex query to R3 transaktion fs10n.
I configurated everything in TA RSBBS within BI.
When I start the BBS from the BEX Query a browser session opends, I have to enter the login data for the R3 system an SAP GUI for HTML is started.
Several years ago I tried the same and was connected directly to the Backend-Transaction within R3.
Was there a change within the last year?
Is it possible to configure somewhere in R3 or BW that I want to be tranferred to the Backend-TA and not to open a SAP GUI for HTML?
Can someone help?

Hi Stephen,
You should try running one of these transaction iViews using Firefox and have Firebug installed (or use HTTP watch in IE). This might show you why the styles are not being loaded, it could be that since the upgrade something has changed in the SICF configuration settings that is blocking the download of the CSS... that is just a guess, but if you use a tool that will show you the HTTP traffic (like Firebug) then you might get a better idea of what is going on.

Need to remove prompts which is comes from Bex query

Dear Experts,
Currently i am working in webi report (4.0 SP2), Back end of this webi report is SAP Bex query, created by using BICS Connection. In bex query we have created different variables on Company code,vendor, business area, key date etc. from this company code and key date are mandatory variables.
My Bex users need input screen to execute the report as per their requirement. But my webi users don't required any prompts. they want to manipulate data by using input controls.
Req : How to avoid variables (Prompts) which is coming from bex?

As per my knowledge, We can not remove mandatory BEx variables from the Webi prompt screen. Value for mandatory Query Variable has to be pass from Webi report.
You can create another Bex Query without any variable and need to use for reporting in Webi.

Field Header issue while integrating BO on Bex query

I have a integration problem of BO on Bex query.Wondering anyone had a similar problem before.
I have a report which has Grant Description, Grant Key and some measures in the report layout. The report also has some additional available fields like Company Code and Company Code Key which can be dragged and dropped into the report by an end user.

When i include the object in Webi report (using BICS connection) i see fields like "Grant description " and "Grant Description- Key (not compounded)" (clicking on the dimension in the query panel) or Company Code and Company Code - Key. In the report layout headers, i have used substring function to remove the unnecessary part (e.g. for Grant columns)
The problem is with the objects which is not in the report layout and can be dragged in. For example in the above scenario business users wants the name to be changed to "Company Code" and "company Code -No" when they drag these fields in the report. I can't change the object name if it is not in the report layout (unless i create a variable and 'somehow' hide the original object called "Company Code - Key"). I am also reluctant to create a variable in BO and name it accordingly as this report is a multilingual report (based on BW userid the headers will come in French, English or spanish). I would like to keep the headers same as that in BW for multilingual function to work (which is defined in BW).
BW developers can probably create new infoobjects and populate the field with company code key data but that is a very big a task considering the so many report we have which needs key for all the objects.
Is there a way the name can be changed to "Company Code- No" when creating a Webi report using bex query (using BICS connection and not universe) ? Really appreciate if someone can share their views on this issue as it looks like an integration issue to me.

thanks for your suggestion.
I actually search for notes, but found non relevant for our system. The BW notes can actually be implemented as there is an "embedded" BW server, but it's release seems to be high enough.
I don't think the query is "hanging". The "loading" popup stops after a few minutes and then simply shows the "empty" entry with an updated timestamp under BEx documents. We don't receive any errors.
Not too familiar with "tracing" within BO, but I'll give it a try (after doing some research and consulting some (ex-)colleagues). I have asked to "update" our front end tools too, as we're rather "low" (and have some Dashboard issues as well). So, since it's already (late) Friday afternoon here, I might just wait on that update (almost time to start my weekend).

How to delete a Bex Query

I am trying to delete a bex query using tcode RSZDELETE and i also tried deleting directly from table RSZCOMPDIR. i am unable to delete.....is there any other option??????????/

Are you sure there are no work books build on this query and check if any of the other query variables etc are used in your query which you want to delete?
1. use transaction RSZDELETE
2. run program COMPONENT_REORG
3. go to query designer open the query and say delete.
To delete workbook .......SE37 > RRMX_WORKBOOKS_DELETE, but to use this you will need to technical names of the workbooks.

Bex Query in ABAP report

Can i call a BEx query in ABAP report and display in ALV grid. if so please give me the syntax.

Look at the FM "RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ".
With this you can read data into a internal table of your program.
With this FM, you can do a selective read and select only the key figures and characteristics that you wish to read in your ABAP.
I am not ure, if you can call a BEx report in your ABAP. But with what I mentioned here, you can acheive what you want.
