BEx Query is not shown

Hi Experts,
I am facing problem in creating universe on SAP BW BEx Query, here the problem: SAP BW version is 7.0 SP 11 and BusinessObjects version is XI 3.0 and SAP Integration Kit 3.0
I created a new InfoCube in SAP BW under some InfoArea and I created a BEx query on that InfoCube. Now in Universe Designer i am trying to create a new connection on that BEx query, but in the list of objects while creating connection i can see my InfoCube under folder $InfoCube but i can not see my own InfoArea or even Query i created on that InfoCube. Along those i can see some folders like Sales Overview (0SD_C03) and BEx queries under that folder of target 0SD_C03. My doubt is why it is not showing InfoArea and Query which created in BW.
Could anyone please help me in this.

Hi
in the SAP query designer please go to the Properties window of the query, select the Advanced tab and check the Allow external access option. Save your query and retry.

Bex Query is not working in portal

Dear Experts,
i have uploaded BI master role into portal, By default Bex Queries are assgined to Master Role. when I clcik on preview for particular Bex Query, it's working fine. but after assigning the master role to end user, that same Bex Query is not working. it's showing Below error..

Can you please check the logs for details - http(s):<host>:<port>/nwa . This may be a permissions issue . Check if the iview has read permission for everyone group and then test . Also post the error details here .

Bex Query is not refereshing in analyzer..

I am having a issue bex query is not refreshing in the bex analyzer.
Actually my requirement to create a workbook on bex query. I have made once workbook but that also not refreshing .
I already check the tick mark for refresh workbook on open,

Refer below screenshot and check it, since I don't have enough screenshots/steps to reproduce. It is just a guess, so check on below points and respond.
1. Is workbook is connected to system? check the connected/connection by clicking on icon (marked in purple). If it is connected, then proceed to next step.
2. Are you clicking on 'Refresh' button (marked in red)? and saying variable screen is not appearing OR report is not refreshed? If yes, then proceed to next step.
3. If you want to refresh and input value again, then click on 'Change Variable Values' Icon (marked in green).
Hope it gives you steps to identify root cause.

Custom Filter in Universe on top of BEX Query is not working in BO Explorer?

I have created Condition(Filter) for an Dimension Object "Submitted by Group Hierarchy" in Universe designer tool on top of SAP BEx Query and then exported the universe to Repository.

Can anyone suggest me how to create custom filter in universe and use it in explorer.

Optional BEx query variables not working in WebI

Hi,
I have an Webi report based on Bex Query using BICS connection.
One characteristic is restricted with two variables. First an authorization variable and additional with an input ready variable.
This input ready variable is optional. When it comes up in webi and you choose a value it doesn't filter on it.
We are on BO 4.1. SP3 and BW 7.31.
With SAP_ALL the optional prompt is working, but for a user with limited access, the optional variable doesn't work.
I have already made a RSRT trace with a test user. But I'm not sure what's the problem.
Trace returned:
S_RS_AUTH RC=4 --> BIAUTH=0BI_ALL; type=RF;name=BICS_PROV_OPEN;
But I don't want to give the user 0BI_ALL, otherwise my analysis authorizations for this info object would be obsolete.
Any ideas?

thank you for your advice!
I tried the filter without authorziation variable and it was working.
I in addition I tried another option: I defined auth variable as input ready and deleted filter variable and that would work working.
With this setting I recognized that for the authorization variable all allowed values are set as default values! If you execute query with SAP_ALL no default is set, but with limited access the allowed values are set as default.
This may be the problem here. I don't know if this behaviour is by design or if there is a problem with rights?
But now I know where the problem comes from.

Bex Query Designer not using default browser

hello all, i have disabled my Internet Explorer from being my default browser, however, when i use the Bex query designer and test, it initiates my Internet Explorer, and not my default Safari browser.
does anyone know where this setting is made ?

Skype uses IE ("Internet Explorer") as the browser interface on Windows based systems, this currently includes many windows such as the logon screen and add Contacts screen. This is fairly normal when a program uses browser logic internally, it is not changing what you use as a default browser.

Bex Query Exception Not Appearing In Bex Report

I have a created an exception in a Bex Query and built a report using the Bex Report Designer. But the exceptions that work fine in the query dont seem to work once I've embedded the query in a report. Is this right? is it not possible to use exceptions in a report or do I need to turn something on etc?
Any help much apreciated.

Hi Joel,
Pls refer the OSS # 331772 reg. this limitation. Exceptions if applied will not be dynamic in RD.
Report designer is a flat structure. You cannot collapse or expand the static columns. Hence, Conditions/Exceptions are not supported in Report Designer. You may try alternatively in WAD. It will surely work in WAD for formatted web based reports.

BEx Query results not getting updated

Hi,
I am using a BEx Query based on a multiprovider which is fetching data from a multiple remote cubes and multiple regular cubes.
Now when data in the source system is getting changed the corresponding remote cubes are getting update but query result are not getting re-fresh for at least 2 hours.
We have already tried doing logging out and and logging into the bex system.
Is there some cache setting which is required?
Default cache mode in query is 'Main memory cache without swapping'.
Kindly advice.

BEx Query Output Not Visible on the Dashboard.

Hi All,
I have a Dashboard which include 2 BEx Queries in it. When my end-user displays the Dashboard, he is able to see the result of one BEx Query and there is no result on from the second BEx Query. Both the queries are from same InfoCube and relevant authorizations have been provided to end-user.
Now, when I run the Dashboard, I am able to see both the Queries output on the Dashboard. I am sure, its must be some authorization issue, but I have provided all authorizations needed which were suggested by SAP to my end-user and the fact that they can see the result from one query and not from other confuses the things.
Would appreciate some inputs...

Now I did the further investigation using ST01 and guess what are checks were green..the authorization objects checked were below...
S_RFC
S_RS_COMP
S_RS_COMP1
S_RS_ICUBE
S_RS_RSTT
S_RS_XCLS
I would really appreciate some suggestions, should I open a SAP message or am I missing something...

Adding New Fields to a BEx Query does not show up in the CR field explorer

This could be a silly question.
I have a CR report based on a BEx query. I had to add a couple of new fields to the BEx query, and when i want to add those fields to the CR report, I don't see them even after I do a refresh in the field explorer.
How do i see this new fields in the CR report?

you can open the report and go to the menu Database > Verify Database.
that should add the new fields to the list of fields in CR

Using 2 BEx query structures - Not displaying as a hierarchy

Gurus,
I have CR2008, and I am using a BEx 7.0 query that has 2 structures. One structure is key figures, the other is a layout that I turn on and display as a hierarchy. There is cell definition behind the query.
How can I get this second structure to view as a hierarchy in Crystal? The cell definition is calculating correctly in Crystal, however all of the Profit Centers show on the same line, without indentation.
If I create a Profit Center hierarchy in BW and bring it into Crystal, then I cannot use the cell definition, which is needed to calculate the correct results.

MultiProvider Query results not shown

Hello Experts,
I have a Multiprovider defined over a InfoCube and a ODS, the InfoCube contains transactional data of Purchasing such as PO number, material number etc. and the ODS just contains data related to Material its material number, Unit of measure and Standard Price.
When I create a query to show the material number and PO number in rows
and the standard Price (of material coming from ODS) in columns, the result shows me the Standard price of the material next to a not assigned(#) record of the PO number and the remaining PO numbers do not show any value under the Standard Price column. We are expected to have the Standard Price to be shown against all the records where the material is used.
Please suggest how to acheive this goal.

Thank you for your reply and the information. As per the given example in the blog I created a new constant selection on the Key figure Standard Price with 0material set to constant value. The result is giving me some unrelated large value.

BEx Query: Attribute not display Unit of Measure (UOM)

In a BEx I am trying to create a query that displays attributes to 0EMPLOYEE. One of the custom attributes is the employee's rate of pay. We have the hourly rate, nightly rate, etc. This attribute is a numeric attribute with currency assigned as the Unit of Measure. I am trying to create a query displaying the pay rates from the attributes of 0EMPLOYEE but remove the unit of measure in the output. I am aware this can be done on key figures using the NODIM formula. How can I remove on an attribute?
Example: Output is $10.25 UOM. I want it to display as $10.25.

Use NODIM function for the Formula Variable.

Bex Query variants not working

Hello Experts,
I have a unique problem with one of my queries, the query variants which are created before Nov 1 are not fetching any vaules instead it gives a message MAKE ENTRY IN ALL THE FIELDS......
the variants which are created in Nov are working fine.....we have not done any upgrade....
does anyone faced this kind of problem? what needs to done to get back the variant values in the selection screen.

Was there a change to an InfoObject that is in the InfoProvider that is also one of the query input options?
e.g. IO ZHARA used to be defeined as a Char with a length of 4, but was changed after Nov 1 to Char, length of 8.
If you change an IO like this that is in the variant, that will render the variant unusable.
There is a program that checks for variants that have been broken like this, and another that you enter the query's technical name and it repairs the variant.
Try a search on SDN for something like "query variant program". I'll post the program names after I get back in the office tomorrow.

Results from query are not shown (FRM-40350)

When I do a query on a form I get the message FRM-40350 Query caused no records to be retrieved. But when I use count query there are records fetched..
I would like to know what can be causing this.
I am using Designer 2.1.2 with Headstart 2.1.2.
