Bex Query - Specific calculation in query result

Hi experts!
I've received a requirement and I cannot find any way to delivery it using the stantard operation or configuration into Bex Query.
We have a query which have three KF with summarization in result. The new requirement is based in the KF "POND" to change the calculation in the result. Below are the actual result and the expected result.
The actual query result.

Check out the "Total A" result for KF "POND", the new calculation is the sum of KF "POND" divided by the sum of KF "QTD" (13338 / 702 = 19)
The same to "Total B" result for KF "POND", the calculation is the sum of "POND" divided by sum of KF "QTD" ( (197400 + 118720) / (840 + 4240) = 62).
I've been using all recourses into Bex query, but I've haven't found any way to deliver this requirement, though.
I'd really appreciate if anyone could give me some suggestion to deliver this requirement.
Thank you.
César Sevilha.

Hi Suman!
Thanks for your replay.
The collision options wont help me because I have calculation on the same structure.
I need to keep the division POND by QTD in the result. Check out the table below.
The Formula Bex Query (POND / QTD) is a simple division between  KF POND by KF QTD, the result
is a totalization of lines A and B.
The requirement is to keep this division on the result. Check out the column Requirement, this is the result expected.

I'd like to know how to keep the division in the result.
Example:
The result of Total B should be 61 kg which is the result of division between the result of KF POND (316.120) by the result of QTD (5167).The currently formula has as result the totalization  of B1 and B2.
Thank you in advance.

  • Bex Query getting Freezed while formatting results

    Hi Friends,
I am running a BEx Query with one year data selection but it's getting freezes while formatting results. But when i deselect the 'Format after refresh' option  in the query properties..then query is running fine.
Could you please let me know if there is any reason for this?
    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Hi,
Just generate your query once with program RSR_GEN_DIRECT_ALL_QUERIES.
    By selecting your multiprovider .
    Thanks,

  • Webi Vs Bex Analyzer for the same query

    Hi Experts ,
I face an issue in Webi Vs Bex Analyzer for the same query :
    Output of Bex query:
    Transport System     Location ID     Quantity
    PIPEC1-Z4          LOCCP1-Z4     1,000.000 BBL
                              LOCCP2-Z4     400 TO
                              LOCGAL-Z4     *
                              LOCRAS-Z4     200 TO
                              Result     *
Here as the Unit of measure is different, the RESULT displays a *
Only in cases where the unit of measure is the same, the result
    is displayed correctly.
However in webi, the sum function blindly adds up without any possibility
to check whether the uom is the same.
How can I check to add only when the units are the same ?
    Regards, Jerin.

    Hi Jerin,
Each Key Figure used in a BW query can have up to three different sets of information:
Numeric value of the Key Figure corresponding to the Key Figure without the unit.
Unit or Currency information, A Dimension object with character format that contains the unit or currency. For example, 'USD', 'u20AC', 'km'
Formatted value, representing the user-specific formatting. A Dimension object with character format that contains the Key Figure and the unit (formatted value) based on user preferences configured on the SAP server. For example, '200 USD', '345 u20AC', '25 km'
Each Key Figure is represented with a Measure object in a Class u201CKey Figures.u201D In the case where the Key Figure is configured in BW with a unit, an additional Dimension object will be added representing the unit information. The u201CFormattedu201D value represents the numeric value Formatted as a string value, following the user-specific formatting settings.
Or if doesn't appear the Unit, for some CKF or RKF it happens, you can add to your BEx query and then to the universe the unit or currency and create a separate dimension with that information.
    I hope this help you.
    Best regards,

  • BEx variables ignored in MDX query

I am having some issues with Crystal Reports running off a Bex query. In the Bex query I have a variable defined on characteristic posting date. However, even though I select a specific posting date when prompted, records from all posting dates are returned. So I copied the MDX statement and ran it in MDXTEST only to get the same result.
    MDX:
    SELECT NON EMPTY EXCEPT([OPSTNG_DATE].MEMBERS, {[OPSTNG_DATE].[All]}) ON ROWS FROM [EFIGL_M01/QEFIGL_M01_4250] SAP VARIABLES [!V000001] INCLUDING "08/01/2010" : "08/01/2010"
Anyone ran into a similar problem before? The MDX statement does indicate that I only picked one posting date for SAP VARIABLE

    Hi Ingo,
Yes this variable is built in the underlying Bex query, and running the query in web analyzer or RSRT shows the correct filtered reesult.
The variable is created under the Posting Date Characteristic under "Default Values" in the "Filter" tab. Now that you mentioned this, I tried moving the variable to "Characteristic Restrictions" from "Default Values" and I am able to get the correct result! What I don't get now is why the original configuration worked for Bex but not for MDX, but worked for both once moved to "Characteristic Restrictions"?
    Thanks!

  • MDX Query to Calculated member

    Hi All,
I have a MDX query which works fine, when converting the query to Calculated member, I get the same result for all the rows of a dimension.
    select {[Measures].[Contents]} on 0,
    ([Dim Products].[Product Alias].[Product Alias].members,
    (filter ([Dim Products].[Product ID].members,
    instr(left([Dim Productss].[Product ID].currentmember.member_Key,3),'112')>0))) on 1
    from
    <<CubeName>>
    Calculated Member:
    SUM(filter ([Dim Products].[Product ID].members,
    instr(left([Dim Products].[Product ID].currentmember.member_Key,3),'112')>0),[Measures].[Contents])
When I drag the dimension product, the calculated member showing the same result for all the products. Can anyone let me know the syntax error here.

    Hi SQL GUN,
    For me it works :
    WITH MEMBER [Last3MonthsInternetSales] AS
    AGGREGATE
    LastPeriods(-3, ClosingPeriod([Date].[Calendar].[Month], [Date].[Calendar].[Month].&[2005]&[12])),
    [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount]
    SET MySet AS
    {[Date].[Calendar].[Month].&[2005]&[09],
    [Date].[Calendar].[Month].&[2005]&[10],
    [Date].[Calendar].[Month].&[2005]&[11],
    [Date].[Calendar].[Month].&[2005]&[12],
    [Date].[Calendar].[Month].&[2006]&[01],
    [Date].[Calendar].[Month].&[2006]&[02]}
    SELECT
    [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount],
    [Last3MonthsInternetSales]
    } ON COLUMNS,
    MySet
    } ON ROWS
    FROM [Adventure Works]
Are u sure your query is correct. I think you might have a [Fiscal Month Num of Year] too much in your (). I'm not sure, but are u dragging the correct level of hierarchy ? Also in the part ON ROWS you seem to take a lot of levels with you.
Why for example take .allmembers when you only want the actual last 3 of your currentmember?
    Can u check again?

"Your function returns a single string that happens to have a bunch of commas and quotes in it. An IN list generally requires a list of strings, which your function doesn't return.
You could rewrite the function to be a pipelined table function and then do
    select count(*)
    from baseclient.address_detail
    where cidn in (SELECT cidn
    FROM TABLE(<<your pipelined table function>>))
However, I would expect it to be easier not to wrap all this into a function and just have your IN clause be the logic in your predicate_cidn cursor.

  • Execute the same query twice, get two different results

I have a query that returns two different results:
    Oracle Version : 10.2.0.1.0
I am running the following query on the Oracle server in SQL*Plus Worksheet.
    SELECT COUNT(*)
    FROM AEJOURNAL_S1
    WHERE CHAR_TIME BETWEEN TO_DATE('12-AUG-10 01:17:39 PM','DD-MON-YY HH:MI:SS AM') AND
    TO_DATE('13-AUG-10 14:17:34','DD-MON-YY HH24:MI:SS')
    AND DESC2 LIKE '%'
    AND DESC1 LIKE '%'
    AND DESC2 LIKE '%'
    AND ETYPE LIKE '%'
    AND MODULE LIKE '%'
    AND LEVELL = '11-WARNING'
    ORDER BY ORDD DESC;
The very first time the query is run, it will return a count of 259. The next time the query is run, lets say, 10 seconds later, it will return a count of 260. The above query is exemplary of the kind of thing I'm trying to do. It seems like the more fields filtered against '%', the more random the count return becomes. Sometime you have to execute the query three or four times before it levels out to a consistent number.
I'm using '%' as the default for various fields, because this was the easiest thing to do to support a data-driven Web interface. Maybe I have to 'dynamically' build the entire where clause, instead of just parameterizing the elements and having default '%'. Anyway, to eliminate the web interface for the purpose of troubleshooting the above query was run directly on the Oracle server.
This query runs against a view. The view does a transpose of data from a table.
    Below is the view AEJOURNAL_S1
    SELECT
    CHAR_TIME,
    CHAR_INST,
    BATCH_ID,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6543,CHAR_VALUE)) AS ORDD,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6528,CHAR_VALUE)) AS AREAA,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6529,CHAR_VALUE)) AS ATT,
    COALESCE(MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6534,CHAR_VALUE)),'N/A') AS CATAGORY,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6535,CHAR_VALUE)) AS DESC1,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6536,CHAR_VALUE)) AS DESC2,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6537,CHAR_VALUE)) AS ETYPE,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6538,CHAR_VALUE)) AS LEVELL,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6539,CHAR_VALUE)) AS MODULE,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6540,CHAR_VALUE)) AS MODULE_DESCRIPTION,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6541,CHAR_VALUE)) AS NODE,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6542,CHAR_VALUE)) AS STATE,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6533,CHAR_VALUE)) AS UNIT
    FROM CHAR_BATCH_DATA
    WHERE subbatch_id = 1774
    GROUP BY CHAR_TIME, CHAR_INST, BATCH_ID
So... why does the query omit rows on the first execution? Is this some sort of optimizer issue. Do I need to rebuild indexes? I looked at the indexes, they are all valid.
    Thanks for looking,
    Dan

    Thanks for looking,
DanIn fact you the first time you ran the query the data has been retrived from disk to memory , in the second time the data is already in memory so the respnse time should be faster ,but if you chagne any condition or column or letter case the optimizer will do the first step (data will be retrived from disk to memory )

    please advice me easy way
    i willl be very gr8ful
    Thanks
    sidhartha

    Hi,
that'S exactly what hide repeated key values does. If this option is on your result is:
    Kh02 1000 1500
    blank 500 456
    blank 600 700
    kh03 400 500
    balnk 500 600
If you turn it off, the result will be:
    Kh02 1000 1500
    Kh02 500 456
    kh02 600 700
    kh03 400 500
    kh03 500 600
Exaclty what you want. Try it, it should work

  • Comments are query specific....

    Dear Folks,
As i understand that Comments are query specific. You can't create a new query with the same reference characteristics to read the comments.
As per my business scenario i have to read Comments which are query specific.
What is did so far:- Created  Input Ready Query where i created one column and named as a Justification which is required to displaying justification where I want the Justification to go . I Created web template by using Input ready query. Created Modification Document Content to enable Row Cell to insert Justification against Key figure. Now it is working fine. Once save justification particular cell then it is storing in Document in RSA1.
Now i wanted to display in another query by using reference same Justification Characteristic.. how do i do this.
Can you give views on this.
    Thanks,
    Venkat Vanarasi.

    Dear Balajee,
    Yes, it is true...
Now i am able to insert more than 60 char length in input ready query. by using below actions in web template:
I created on column in input ready query and named as "Comment" . I used this query in web template and created "Modifications" by using DocumentContent" Module in Analysis Web Item. by using this functionality it is allowing More than 60 char length in input ready query.
If you closely observed what i did is Created one Column in Input Ready Query which is Query specific. This column data will hold in Documents area Data Warehousing Workbench instead of Planning Cube.
To display comments i have created another BI query & used it in Web template , here issues is calling Comments into BI Reporting area ( which is not Input ready query).
    I hope you understand now....
    Thanks,
    Venkat Vanarasi.

  • Query for calculating financialyear

help me to write a query  which will check if the record createdon
is within  the current financialyear  i.e. June 2014- July 2015
    RecordCreatedon
    logic
    2014-10-28
    yes
    2014- 12-15
    Yes
    2012- 01-19
    No
Note  : query for calculating financialyear should be hardcoded .

It looks like your sample data range is wrong "June 2014- July 2015"
To get an idea, I consider June 2014 - May 2015 as financial year, try the below:
    create Table test_Table (RecordCreatedon date)
    Insert into test_table values('2014-10-28'),('2014- 12-15'),('2014- 06-01'),('2014- 05-30')
    ,('2015- 02-28'),('2015- 05-30'),('2015- 06-01')
    Select *,
case when year(Dateadd(month,-5,RecordCreatedon) )=YEAR(getdate()) Then 'yes' else 'no' end Logic
    From test_Table
    Drop table test_Table

  • Writing an sql script to query a calculation view  and an attribute view inside a calculation view

    Hi,
I was trying to query a calculation view with sql , and as one of the input parameters i was trying to give a query over an attribute view
So my sql will look like this
    SELECT * FROM "MyApp.calculation_views::GET_CHECKLIST_FOR_ACCOUNT"('PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$ACCOUNT_ID$$', '1','$$CHECKLIST_ID$$',' SELECT CHECKLIST_ID FROM "MyApp"."CHECKLIST_PRODUCTS" WHERE PRODUCT_ID = 5'));
So as an input to $$CHECKLIST_ID$$   i wanted to give an id selected from checklist products table where products id is passed as an input
but this is not working, i am getting syntax error at the $$CHECKLIST_ID$$ there i can only pass values like  $$CHECKLIST_ID$$, '1'
Please help me to figure out which  is the correct syntax  i tried putting the sql statement to get the checklist_id in '' but it too didnot work

I'm not sure you'll be able to do a SELECT subquery directly in the placeholder definition, but you can create another calc view (scripted) as a wrapper to your original calc view and use a scalar variable to pass the parameter over.
Try this as the base code for your second calc view:
    var_id VARCHAR(10);
    BEGIN
         SELECT CHECKLIST_ID INTO :var_id FROM "MyApp"."CHECKLIST_PRODUCTS" WHERE PRODUCT_ID = 5;
         var_out = SELECT * FROM "MyApp.calculation_views::GET_CHECKLIST_FOR_ACCOUNT"
              (PLACEHOLDER."$$ACOUNT_ID" => 1, PLACEHOLDER."$$CHECKLIST_ID$$" => :var_id);
    END
You could even create input parameters in the second Calc View for the Account Id & Product Id (which are currently hard coded in your code below).
    Best,
    Henrique.
PS: avoid using SELECT * for the var_out in the scripted calc view. It's better, from a code maintenance perspective, to explicitly define the columns you're outputting.
