BEx Reporting Problem - Display not changing to Text
Hi SDN Friends,
I am working on a task of doing the "out of box" business content reporting on CRM activities, account and contact management ( CRM CIC ).
But i installed the business content CRM activities reports in BW, extracted activities transactional data from CRM into BW ..maintained ODS for activities and doing reporting from the infocube.
1. When i execute the report, the characteristics from master data table (eg: activity partner) is showing only numbers like 21,1 etc in the report.....i changed them to Text and Medium length text under Business explorer tab in RSD1..........in the BEx i right clicked on choose..display as "Name"..but still does not work.
2. Also another issue is that, all the configuration keys in CRM are showing in the BW reports. please tell me how to avoid it?
Please suggest me experts..
Awaiting the reply at the earliest.
Thanks
Shreya
Hi Shreya,
Check this link you would would find all the datasources for activity. Load the texts based on the datasources.

Variable hierarchy display not changed (BEx analyzer)
Hi
We have a BEx query, in which a drilldown characteristic is displayed as an hierarchy
Hierarchy display is active
Selected hierarchy:
Name - constant
Version - customer exit variable
Customer exit calculates version from manual input variable.
We need to view the report in BEx Analyzer.
When the query is opened, we select manual input variables and the hierarcy's version is set correctly.
The issue is that when we change manual input variables at runtime, the data is refreshed,
but hierarchy display is not changed. The selected hierarchy's version remains unchanged.
In order to change hierarchy display, we need to open characteristic properties and change the selected hierarchy manually
or we need to reopen the query and provide another manual input variables.
Our system version is 7.01 patch level 9
Is there any way to fix this problem
Or some workaroud?
Any help will be appreciated.
ThanksMichael, thank you for reply.
But I don't see how these notes may help me with my problem.
1753959 - I don't get a short dump
1745472, 1751321 - system displays all queried nodes, the problem is that if I input another variable, hierarchy version variable is calculated via user-exit properly (I see it in ABAP debugger), but displayed hierarchy has version, which was set when I opened query initially.
1717433 - nodes are returned with non-empty result. I can see that data is refreshed, hierarchy version is requested correctly, but is displayed incorrectly. We can see, for example, new hierarchy leaves, but in "n/a" node.
I tried to run the same report on system with version 7.01, patch level 12 and get the same behaviour.
My problem is similar to that described in notes 993151, 957219, but our system patch level is already higher. -
Bex Report Designer is not previewing changes in QA
Hi All,
Please help... i am getting an unusual problem with bex report designer. I have created a bex report using report designer. This was then transported in to QA. In QA i opened my created report using report designer and clicked the print version button to preview the report in PDF format. This all worked correclty, however i noticed a spelling mistake in one of the custom text fields i am using.
So i put the report in a transport in dev, made the changes in dev and previewed in dev. Everything is ok here and i can see the change i made.
After this i transported the report to QA and when i open the report in report designer to preview the data i can see in design mode that the custom text field does HAVE the change i made so it is correct. The problem i am getting is though when i preview to see in PDF format the image i get is of the old preview with the spelling mistake.
SInce i have made more changes and i can see the changes in DEV and in QA in design mode but when i preview it shows me the old image from the 1st preview.
Please can anyone shed any light into this issue.
Kind regards

Issue with Bex report - key Figures not populating correctly.
Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue with a Bex report. There are three key figures of data type DATE having "Dec - Counter or amount field with comma and sign" datatype. After executing the query, in the report, for some sales documents the key figure fields are coming as 'X' and rest others are coming correctly in the date format as mm\dd\yyyy.
When i check in the cube, these key figures shows values in decimal format and not in date format. The conversion is happening during execution.
Pleas show me some light on how to identify the cause of getting 'X' for some Sales documents in the report eventhough some are coming correctly.
Thanks,
Anamika
Edited by: Anamika Soni on Mar 12, 2010 10:48 AMHi,
The infobject has been defined with datatype "DATE" only. It has also been mapped from datasource to infocube correctly as these key figures are populating correctly for some of the sales documents in the report. It is not like that for all the sales documents the key figures are not converting properly.
Some Sales documents are not converting into the date fields but for some conversion happens properly in the BEx report. This is the issue.
Please guide accordingly.
Many thanks,
Anamika -
MS Word 2007 Problem: Could not Change Doc Template
I started getting an error when I open a rules document through OPM. The document usually opens ok, but OPM gives the error "Oracle Policy Modeling was unable to open the document as an error occurred with MicroSoft Word: Could not change document template.
Usually, I can work in the document with no problems, but sometimes when I do the compile of the document that got this message, the compile and save works, but then Word crashes. The compiled document is available through OPM, but it thinks the document needs to be compiled on a build. I've learned to continue without compiling, otherwise Word will crash again.
Other times, the document compiles just fine with no problems with Word.
Occasionally, Word loses the Add-ins list. I've figured out how to attach it again.
Everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago. The only difference I can think of is that Word did an automatic update. I uninstalled and reinstalled OPM, but it hasn't made a difference.
I'm running OPM 10.1.0.27 on XT.
Any ideas? Thanks,
TerryHi Terry,
Try the following workaround:
1) Rename the word 2003 template (Policy Modeling Word Template) in c:\program files\oracle modeling\templates to another filename
- This is to force Word 2007 not to load the Word 2003 template
2) Open the Word document from Policy Modeling
- To load the Word 2007 template and attached it to the document
3) Save the document
(Thanks to Red Canda for this.)

Report format is not changing in IE
Hi All,
I am working with Report Designer. when i am executing the report, initially report is executing properly for the first time and givining define format. but if i am doing any change in report format in report designer the executed report do not capture the changes. the report generated on the web portal showing me the same output generated for the first time. if i am creating another copy of the same report by "SAVE AS" and then executing it, then again it is showing me the proper output for the first time only but it is not working if i am doing any changes in format.
Kindly guide for that.
Regards,
KaushikHi Kaushik
maybe you've already solved your problem, otherwise here's a program which most probably would solver your problem:
report zicm_cache_invalidate_all.
call function 'ICM_CACHE_INVALIDATE_ALL'
exporting
global = 1
exceptions
icm_op_failed = 1
icm_get_serv_failed = 2
icm_no_http_service = 3
others = 4.
if sy-subrc <> 0.
message id sy-msgid type 'E' number sy-msgno
with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
endif.
Setting global to 0 would invalidate only local... It's the same like invalidating the cache thru SMICM

Customer Support Portal to report problems is not working
The Customer Support Portal at: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/support/index.cfm?event=portal&loc=en_us
Is not working.
I called into installation help. The person said he could not help me and I needed to report the problem through the Customer Support Portal.
When I go there I sign in.
I select Installation Help
I select Your Products
A drop down box appears
It says Select Your Product.
The problem is it doesn't show any products to select.
Thanks,
Docfxit
PS: How can I report an installation problem to the developers?Hi Docfxit
What product are you trying to install? Acrobat? Reader? PhotoShop? LiveCycle........? Are you an enterprise customer?
If you are an enterprise customer you should have been given an email address for support
If not you can always post the questrion on the forums and we'll try to help from there.
This forum is for the online service hosted at Acrobat.com
The forum for the desktop application Adobe Acrobat (Standard / Pro / Pro Extended) is http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat

NSTextfield setStringValue will not change label text.
Hello All,
I am about to my wits end on this particular issue that I am expierencing. I am unable to set the title of a simple label. I have tried all sorts of things like [self.property setStringValue:@"test"] and not even that will work in changing the labels. I've followed countless tutorials and other online references and they all appear to done this the exact same as I have... I would greatly appreciate recieving a little help in figuring out why it's happening and how it should be fixed properly. The easiest way to show what I have so far will be via screenshots and code examples.
xib file and containing outlets of the labels in question. This is to show that the labels are propperly hooked up as IBOutlets
Here is the relevant code. This is what is called in AppDelegate so you know where to start reading in the code:
-(void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(NSNotification *)aNotification{
RamdiskSize *caller =[[RamdiskSize alloc]init];
[caller changeSizeLabels];
And here is the results, as you can see the placeholder strings are still in place and were not affected by the setStringValue methods.
And I will include all related code below:
AppDelegate.m:
@implementation AppDelegate
- (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(NSNotification *)aNotification
RamdiskSize *caller =[[RamdiskSize alloc]init];
[caller changeSizeLabels];
@end
RamdiskSize.h:
#import <Foundation/Foundation.h>
#import "MemoryMonitoring.h"
@interface RamdiskSize : NSObject
@property (weak) IBOutlet NSTextField *minSizeLabel;
@property (weak) IBOutlet NSTextField *halfSizeLabel;
@property (weak) IBOutlet NSTextField *maxSizeLabel;
-(void)changeTextLabel:(NSTextField *)whichlabel sizeLabel:(NSString *)labelText;
-(NSArray *)defineSizeValueLabels;
-(void)changeSizeLabels;
@end
RamdiskSize.m
#import "RamdiskSize.h"
@implementation RamdiskSize
@synthesize maxSizeLabel, minSizeLabel, halfSizeLabel;
-(void)changeTextLabel:(NSTextField *)whichlabel sizeLabel:(NSString *)labelText{
[whichlabel setStringValue:labelText];
// Get Physical memory in MB
-(NSArray *)defineSizeValueLabels{
MemoryMonitoring *physicalMemoryObj = [[MemoryMonitoring alloc]init];
unsigned long long physicalMemoryValue = [physicalMemoryObj getPhysicalMemoryValue];
float maxSize = (((float)physicalMemoryValue/1024)/1);
float halfSize = (((float)physicalMemoryValue/1024)/2);
float minSize = ((((float)physicalMemoryValue/1024)/((float)physicalMemoryValue/1024))/2);
return [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:[NSNumber numberWithFloat:minSize],[NSNumber numberWithFloat:halfSize],[NSNumber numberWithFloat:maxSize], nil];
-(void)changeSizeLabels{
NSArray *sizeArray = [NSArray arrayWithArray:[self defineSizeValueLabels]];
[maxSizeLabel setStringValue:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%.f GB",[[sizeArray objectAtIndex:2] floatValue]]];
[halfSizeLabel setStringValue:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%.f GB",[[sizeArray objectAtIndex:1] floatValue]]];
[minSizeLabel setStringValue:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%.1f GB",[[sizeArray objectAtIndex:0] floatValue]]];
@endRemove the RamdiskSize allocation from applicationDidFinishLaunching and add an awakeFromNib method to RamdiskSize.m to alter the labels.

CSS Problem: Cursor Not Changing
I want to set the cursor property in css to change the mouse
cursor when over a certain element. However, it won't change to
anything other than the hand (ie. cursor: pointer; works, but
cursor: se-resize; doesn't). It all works perfectly in all browsers
I've tried including Google Chrome which is also powered by webkit.
So what's the go with Adobe AIR? Why can't I get the cursor to
change to anything other than the hand/pointer.
ThanksI just got the adobe creative suite 4 and Im trying to use photoshop but as soon as i boot up the software and create a new document my cursor starts off as the hand. Everytime I scroll over to the tool bar and select something different the cursor simply falls back on the main template as the "hand". Do I have a posessed hand or something. Any answeres would really help. I've got to get these scenes done for a cartoon soon.

Report Viewer Control not displaying Japanese Text fetched from a file.
Hi,
I am using Crystal Report 2008.
I want my report to display values read from text file ( this file contains key = value pairs ), for this I have created a ufl ( created as .net dll and also tested correctly). The text file contains keys in english and theirs values in Japanese hence this text file is in UTF-8 format.
As said above the .net dll was tested with a .net application and the japanese values were returned correctly.
But using the same function as ufl in crystal report displays ???????? for same japanese text.
I have already installed the Japanese language pack for crystal report.
Please help as soon as possible.
Thanks.Hi,
I solved the above problem using setContentLocale method and passing it desired locale.
Thanks!
