Bex - Settings

I have created a query which has a column (Like Material) and I am creating the query in Bex and publishing that in Web.
I "Dont want to hide the repeated value"..So I went to properties and un-clicked "Hide" option.
When I run the query in Bex, Its coming properly.. The same Material is repeated.. But when displaying that in WEB its not displaying..
Any idea

  • BEx Settings Help

    I Have 2 questions
In BEx Analyzer Variable Screen. We can search using WildCard like "*".If we want to search only some of the materials Numbers which got 67 in the Number. We can search 67 and execute it so that it will bring only these materials. Unfortunately This is not working with "*" but its working with "+" wildcard. How we can change this setting?????
In the BEx analyser suppose we have Material as Variable with Select Options. Right next to Arrow we will have a Sign which is more like View Sign if we click on this we can Paste list of Material Numbers. Its like we do it for Table fields search. In this selection it is allowing just 1000 Values can I increase this so that it will allow to paste 5000 Values??
    Any ideas?? Please assist

    Hi,
If you have such a big list, you can copy the text, by using text copy function, ther by you need not to paste in the regular cells..
    hope this works

  • Internal Error while executing a query with varaints in BEX

    HI All,
I am executing a query which has 4 variants. when I use the first 3 variants the query is working fine.....but when I try to execute the same query for the 4th variant....the system is giving an error message called Internal Error.....
when I executed the same query with same variant...in RSRT transaction code...I was able to see the results....
The error messages that I am getting as follows...
<Internal Error> receiving from the BW Server Failed. BW server raised exception SYSTEM_FAILURE. DO you want to see more information...
when I selected YES....I got the following message
Error in a ABAP statement when processing an Internal Table.table.
    Error Group
    RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
when clicked on the OK button the following message is displayed....
<Internal Error> Can not determine text elements for the current query.
Can any one explain me what went wrong...is there any thing that I need to do in the BEX settings...are there any patches that needs to be installed...or any OSS notes available for this sort of errors...?
    Advance in thanks
    Dilse...

    Hi Harish,
Execute the query in RSRT and check whether you have any short dump is in ST22. This would give a clear idea at what might have gone wrong.
Another thing is to check whether the code for the variable is fine in the user exit.
    Hope this helps.

  • Date Difference in BEx

I am trying to calculate date difference when in analyzer it data difference value always shows some weird number 732,755. When i execute the same query in portal it shows the correct value. Has it anything to do with BEx settings. Did anyone face such an issue. Please respond

    Hi Ganesh,
I appreciate for the response. But its just not a display setting in Designer. Here the date difference calcluations gives me the same number 732,755 for all different numbers like 208 days, 19 days.... No matter what the date difference  be its just the same weird number popping up.
Could you please suggest me anything more.
    Thanks.

  • Performance issues with query input variable selection in ODS

    Hi everyone
We've upgraded from BW 3.0B to NW04s BI using SP12.
There is a problem encountered with input variable selection. This happens regardless of using BEx (new or old 3.x) or using RSRT. When using the F4 search help (or "Select from list" in BEx context) to list possible values, this takes forever for large ODS (containing millions of records).
Using ST01 and SM50 to trace the code in the same query, we see a difference here:
    <u>NW04s BI SQL command</u>
    SELECT
    "P0000"."COMP_CODE" AS "0000000032" ,"T0000"."TXTMD" AS "0000000032_TXTMD"
    FROM
    ( "/BI0/PCOMP_CODE" "P0000" ) LEFT OUTER JOIN "/BI0/TCOMP_CODE" "T0000" ON  "P0000"."COMP_CODE" = "T0000
      "."COMP_CODE"
    WHERE
    "P0000"."OBJVERS" = 'A' AND "P0000"."COMP_CODE" IN ( SELECT "O"."COMP_CODE" AS "KEY" FROM
      "/BI0/APY_PP_C100" "O" )
    ORDER BY
    "P0000"."COMP_CODE" ASC#
    <u>BW 3.0B SQL command:</u>
    SELECT ROWNUM < 500 ....
In 3.0B, rownum is limited to 500 and this results in a speedy, though limited query. In the new NW04s BI, this renders the selection screen unusable as ABAP dumps for timing out will occur first due to the large data volume searched using sequential read.
It will not be feasible to create indexes for every single query selection parameter (issues with oerformance when loading, space required etc.). Is there a reason why SAP seems have fallen back on a less effective code for this?
I have tried to change the number of selected rows to <500 in BEx settings but one must reach a responsive screen in order to get to that setting and it is not always possible or saved for the next run.
Anyone with similar experience or can provide help on this?

here is a reason why the F4 help on ODS was faster in BW 3.x.
In BW 3.x the ODS did not support the read mode "Only values in
InfoProvider". So If I compare the different SQL statements I propose
to change the F4 mode in the InfoProvider specific properties to
"About master data". This is the fastest F4 mode.
As an alternative you can define indexes on your ODS to speed up F4.
So would need a non-unique index on InfoObject 0COMP_CODE in your ODS

  • Problem with Variable screen in WAD

    Hi ,
I have a problem with variable screen in WAD , in the varable seen it is displaying only Key , it is not giving any description , but in BEX is is displaying both Key and Description , can any only have an idea why is this happening . this is occuring only for one variable , rest are working fine .
    Thanks,
    Abraham

    Hi Abraham,
thsi could be a problem from the specisic setting of the infocube. Please check the BEx Settings from the infocube. You can find them by the following steps:
    - search for the infocube
    - doubleclick on the infocube
    - choose an specific infoobjekt
    - right mousebutton and click "specific dataprovider settings"
    - check if the right entries are set
    Hope this will help.

  • Input help in variable screen

    Hi,
I'm having a query on top of 0EMPLOYEE. 0EMPLOYEE has an attribute of a business unit (which has the default BEx settings of display as text) and I have a selection option variable on top of this attribute.
Previously, on BW 3.x the variable screen used to show both the key and text, regardless of the settings in the BEx tab of the infoobject definition. in BEx Web JAVA it will only let me have the text selection. is it possible to change that without changing the default settings in the BEx tab of the infoobject definition?
    Tomer.

For BEx Web 7.0 make sure you have the attributes suppressed in help with the instructions from note below:
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1144979
Also apply the optimizations provided in the notes below:
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1374724
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1379804
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1266510
Also you could try changing the read mode of the F4 help depending on the size of the cube and MD tables.

we have checked the BEX settings in field and query level there are same.
    Please help us here.

Check the setting again in the Query level and then maku sure you save it. Come out of the query and then re-open the query and execute, you can see the chages in the output.

  • Query not showing result  for 1st column

    dear all,
i want to show the result row for my query for the 1st column...
e.g. i have column cost center, po number and vendor both po number and vendor will show the result column but not cost center.. any idea why?
here are my bex settings for cost center
supression = never, normalization = no normalization.

    Hello -
You check for costcenter data in the data targets, for the given PO and vendors,.
If data exists then it should be available in the reports,.
    Else it won't .

  • 0CostCenter in a structure in a query need text field

    Hi,
I am creating a query using a structure so that cost centers can place on the query in a fixed ordered location.  When I pull 0COSTCENTER into a selection and restrict it to the cost center I want, the key and the text have the key value in them.  When I  search for the value in the "Select Values" screen, the result search shows the key and what appears to be the short text(. .  When I select that value to the chosen selection box, it is still showing the same values.  Once I hit Ok and go back to the "Change Selection" screen, the retriction shows the key as the text and that is the value showing in the description for the selection.
Anyone else encountered this issue and found a work around other than hand entering descriptive descriptions that will probably change 5 minutes after the query has been built?
Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts.
    Bill

    Hi,
0COSTCENTER texts appear to be loaded and  BEX settings on 0COSTCENTER are the same as 0COSTELMNT which I am using the same way in another query.  When I do the restriction on it, the text for the cost element is pulled in.
When I just put 0COSTCENTER on the row and not in a selection, the text displays just fine.  Is there a setting in BEX that I might be missing.   I would think that the Cost Element query works so I should be getting the same results on this query.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

  • Different Units in the Report

    Hi All,
We have a cube in which we store delivery quantities in sales units. We have another ODS in which we store the delivery quantities in different units, say Litres, KGs, Pounds etc.
    Ex:
    Cube:
    DelNo quantity Unit
    1001        100      L
    1002     150     KG
    ODS:
    PODNo Item Quantity Unit
    1001     10   100     L
    1001     10   160     KG
    1001      10   200     UG6
    1002     10   110     L
    1002      10   150     KG
    1002        10   190     UG6
The User wants a flexibility to look at the quantities in different units i.e they want a variable on selection screen in which they input the required Unit, say KG, then all the quantities in the report should show in KGs.
In the above given example for Del No 1001, cube stores the quantities in 'L' but it has to be displayed in KGs by taking the KGs value from the ODS.
Is it possible to do this?
Both DelNo in cube and PODNo in ODS store the Delivery Number but both have different technical names.
    Rgds,
    Nene.

    Hi nene,
To do Quantity conversions at report levels,
    please follow these steps.
1)Maintain settings at infoobject level(under BEX settings tab),
whenever u made this setting and activate the infoobject one DSO name with "Generated Data Store Object " will be generated.
2)Run the DTP where the default DSO was generated
3)goto Tcode RSUOM,goto tab "Conversion factors",give reference object(as which object u need unit conversion)
4)Under UOM tab select the option of source quantity and target quantity unit
5)Goto BEX,under the properties of keyfigure >conversion>unitconversion have to be taken, variable comes here as conversiontype u have given at RSUOM tcoce.
    Hope this helps you
    Thanks,
    Praveena.
