BEx Template to Execute Queries in 7.X

Hi ,
I want to create a BEx Template, So that when we execute queries in the BEx Analyzer, the Query output should come in the BEx Template with Company Logo.
Can you advise, how to create a BEx Templete in BW 7.X.
In 3.X, we just open a spreadsheet and keep the logo and save it as a global template.
How to create a global BEx Template in 7.0

Web Template - Executing Queries in Parallel

I'm looking to find out if there is a way to execute queries in Parallel for a web template. I think in 3.5 this was not possible, but I would think that with the new 2004s they would overcome this.
Anyone have any details on this?

From my testing it looks like it works the same way as BW 3.X web run time.
I have not seen any template settings or RSADMIN settings which will make the Data providers in a template run parallel, this will be great feature. Not sure whether this will be enhancement, will see what SAP has to say on this.

Error while executing queries on 0FIGL_M30

Dear Experts
From the business content we have installed a multiprovider 0FIGL_M30 and corresponding queries as well, data load was also sucessful but when we tried to execute queries it gives an error first error message is "0ACDOC_CC_P is not a valid characteristic for infoprovider", and the second one is "Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method: UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" the same errors persist for each query when I try to execute them both in Bex Analyser and in RSRT. With RSRT strange thing is, when I execute it automatically debugger get started for each execution. Can you please tell me the root cause of such kind of error.

I have checked the multiprovider its in active state and the other thing is I have checked the query I cannot see 0ACDOC_CC_P anywhere in the multiprovider as well as in queries but still it shows error related to 0ACDOC_CC_P. When I double clicked on the error message I got the below information related to the error.
Diagnosis
Customer enhancement RSR00002 or the implementation of BAdI RSR_OLAB_BADI delivers 0ACDOC_CC_P as the characteristic to be calculated. 1. is, however, not a valid key figure for InfoProvider .
System Response
The information from 0ACDOC_CC_P is ignored.
Procedure
Check the exit.

I have a combo box in Parameter Form. It has 3 options. I have 3 queries in Data Model.
I want to execute only one of these 3 queries based on user's selection from combo box.
I want that other 2 queries do NOT execute at all for that processing cycle. Next time user selects other option and an other query is executed and other 2 are NOT executed and so on.
Is it possible in Reports 6i in Client/server?

Include:
AND :parameter = <this query's value> (e.g. 1 or "SALES" or whatever)
in each query's where clause. Because this is 2 constants (as far as the SQL interpreter is concerned) it will evaluate it first. If the parameter is set to a value not for this query then it will return no rows with minimal overhead.

Bex query designer -- Execute Error

when i am executing the Bex query designer -- > Execute. i am getting the following error.

Please check if there are useful message in SQL error log. If there is lock the memory message was logged in the error log, you may enable
lock pages in memory option for the SQL Server service account and see how it works.
Also, apply the service pack and updates of SQL Server.

JumpTarget Web Bex Template open in 0analysis_pattern

Hi,
we copied 0analysis_pattern Web Bex template into a custom one.
Using this custom template, when with a Goto on context menu we jump to a target query the new window is the standard 0analysis_pattern template and not the custom one. How can we make sure the target query is opened in the proper template ? We use a template for each user profile ( 4 ) .

While defining the Jump target in RSBBS. You can use one of these options in your case
1. You can use the "Web Address" and specify there the target query URL with the addition TEMPLATE="your custom web template"
2. create a separate custom template for this query with DP_1 initialized to the target query and select this web template as Jump target (BW JAva template for BI 7.0 and BI 3.x template for 3.x)
Not sure if the drilled down values of characteristics can be passed from source to the Jump target.
Question: Can you please let me know how are you maintaining separate template for each user profile.

Execute Queries from Right Pane Workspace

Hello All,
I have a Query Blocking rules in place. When I execute saved queries from tree structure on right pane, it invokes blocking rules but when I execute queries from workspace (Left pane) it does not invoke blocking rules.
The query blocking rule is in WebMessage name="kuiCriteriaBlockingScript" under function validateAnalysisCriteria
Any ideas on what I must be missing?

Assign as many schemas to your workspace as you want using the administration app. Read about it in the doc.

Passing iView parameters to BEx Template

Hello All-
We currently have some BI 7 reports exposed via EP 7 using the BEx iViews. What we want to do now is dynamically set the query variables based on the iView properties. So, we want to add something like; myvariable=<some.dynamicvalue> to the iView and have the BEx template use it as a query or filter.
My questions are:
1) Which iView property do we need to add the variable definition in? I see 'Application Parameters' and 'Parameters to forward to BEx application' as possible options...
2) What do we need to do to actually use the value of 'myvariable' in the BEx template? Javascript?
Any help would be appreciated.

How often does CEP processor execute queries?

Hi there,
I have a little trouble with understanding how often cep processor executes queries.
It seems that queries are executed every time a new event arrives, that can lead to some troubles.
For example, consider that we have 4 events, which match a certain condition. If we try to select such events from a stream like that
select * from myStream[range 30 seconds slide 30 seconds] and the events arrive within the 30 seconds, the cql processor will not execute query until next event arrives.
How can we force cql processor to execute queries every 30 seconds even if there is no new events?

Display message on a web template for specific queries

Hi all,
We're trying to find a way of displaying a message in our standard web template (0ADHOC) in order to warn users about issues concerning specific queries (availability of data, maintenance...). So, we would like to establish one message for some querys and be able to display it in our web template only if availabe.
We faced this requirement with 2 different options, but none is working perfectly:
1.- Add a Single Document web item to 0ADHOC_HEADER web template in order to display a document related to our InfoProvider. Issues that appear:
    - Warning messages need to be suppressed because when query doesn't have a related document, an horrible warning message is displayed.
    - InfoProvider related documents need to be established for each calendar month, so we're not able of establishing a document that can be correct for all months on the InfoProvider. So, document only appears if user sets a specific calendar month filter. If he doesn't set any filters, document is not displayed.
2.- Use callquerydoc() in 0ADHOC in order to call query documentation on a new window when web template is loaded. Issues that appear:
    - If the query doesn't have a related document, we won't like the new window to appear (because it shows an error about not finding documentation).
    - No matter where I put the call to that JavaScript function, but each time you press a button or change something when executing the query, new window appears again.
Could someone give me solutions for issues of at least one of these two options?
If you have other suggestions to achieve our goal, please let me know.

How do you notify users when data is not reliable? (caused by, for instance, data loading errors, query maintenance... so on).
I once used system messages (sm02) to notify all those data failures, but now we want the notification not to be global, but to be specific for some user groups (or query groups), and visible when they execute any query.

Error from bex query while executing in portal

while executing the query bex analyzer, is working ok but the same query when executing in portal is throwing the following error:

BEx Query Designer - Execute pops up blank Internet Explorer session

Hi gurus,
From BEx Query Designer, I choose Execute, and it pops up a blank Internet Explorer window rather than the query. It says about:blank in the URL and the page is white.
I read some posts that say to run RSPOR_SETUP, but I don't have a Java system or Portal system so does that still apply to me? I want the URL that pops up to point to the BW system which is an ABAP system.

Please note that Java stack is mandatory for running Queries in web side
or for executing the Queries using Transaction RSRT -> Java Web or
for executing the Queries using Query Designer in Release 7.x .
So, please install Java stack and use BI Java components for running
Queries in web side here.

RSPOR_SETUP is obsolete in BI 7.x release and Supportdesk tool should
be used in 7.x release.

Query Description not displaying in Bex Template

Hi all,
I have created a Template in Bex Analyser in the Design mode of a Workbook. I have assigned this workbook template as the Default Template for all the Queries by selecting it in Global Settings. I closed this workbook template and opened a query. I am getting the template embedded in the query as i designed but the problem is the Query Description is not displaying correctly. In the Query, it is showing the Workbook Description in the header instead of Query Description.
Where should i change it? Help me in fixing this. Thanks.

Hi,
you should use an Info Field WebItem to display the query name or description in your Webtemplate.
Parameter in InfoField: General Text Elements for a Data Provider (GENERIC_TEXT_ELEMENT).
You use this parameter to choose the generic text element that is to be displayed:
● Query Name (QUERY)
● Query Description (QUERY_DESCRIPTION)

How to integrate BEx Template into InfoView

Hi Experts,
I created an hyperlink to launch a Web template SAP BI 7.0 from Business Object Infoview.
When I execute this hyperlink, a connection window appear for SAP logon. I fill my login and password then valid.
The next window is a standard one displayed when loading is in process. The issue is that I am blocked on this window. It looks like there is an auto-refresh process.
Can anyone help me on this issue?

I have the same issue. I'm creating a Hyperlink in in InfoView which points to a BEx Web Template URL. When opening this link InfoView shows a blank "window". It seems like there is something like an endless loop with redirection. I've also tried it with an iView containing that template. But it only shows the SAP "sun" rotating endlessly.
Anyone solved this problem?
It would be great to have my Crystal Reports and some Web Templates together in one place (and not needing to setup NW Portal).
