BEX Web Template - Dropdown box Question

I have a web report that has a dropdown box that is used to filter company code.
The variable entry screen also allows the user to filter via company code.
The problem that I have encountered is that if you filter at the variable entry screen (eg choose company code 1000), then when you go into the web report, the dropdown box shows "All", so users are getting confused when they print this out, as it appears as if they are looking at all companies.
Does anyone know how I can set up the dropdown box so that it only shows the "All" item if there is more than one company code listed?
ie if they filter for a single company code at the variable entry screen, then don't show the "All" item
if they don't filter company code at the variable entry screen, then display the "All" item in the dropdown box.
Thanks in advance for any asisstance
Regards
Richard

thanks for your response.
Yes - I have tried changing the properties in the WAD - if you tick the "do not display all values" entry, then the "All" option is never displayed, and so it is never possible for the users to remove the filter.
I want the "All" option displayed only if there is more than one entry in the list box.
regards
Richard

  • Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates

    Hello,
when opening the web application designer or calling a web template in the browser the error Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates occours. I found several hints in the forum like solving the problem with the SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & SupportDesk Tool and several notes for this issue (like 937697). Unfortunately nothing works and the diagnostics tool says that everything is configured fine. The release is 701, SP4.
Has someone suggestions where to start searching the error?
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi Vanessa,
Which JAVA patch are you using?
Is it possible to download the latest patches and re-test the problem? You may find that the latest patch corrects the roblem

  • How to Fix Table Header of Analysis Web Item in BEx Web Template

    Hi,
I am using an Analysis Web Item to display line item report in BEx Web Template. Is there any way to fix the table header of the like in Excel for better navigation?
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for your quick responses (I will award points once this is sorted)
On the information you have supplied this has opened up yet another new part of WAD that I have not experienced ...TAGs
Shubhranshu - I have done what you said but as I have never used tags I have just had a look around and found that I can insert Any Tag but not sure if I should be doing that.  If it is inert any tag , I chose FONT from the drop down and cbmAttributes defaulted into the custom tab for the class name but not sure what it wants in the Attributes and CSS Style tab, it won't accept what I am putting which is leading me to believe that I shouldn't be doing it that way.
Venkat - thanks for the links they will prove very useful.  I've had a look and although they talk alot about the XHTML code for tags they don't actually say how you do it in the editor - I would like to produce one that way first and then see the code it generates for it.  I'm a bit apprehensive with changing the code direct as I don't want to mess anything up.
    Thanks again for your help

    Hi Experts,
Is there any way to read the SY-SYSID or SY-UNAME or any SYST Parameter with Javascript or Command URL in the BEX Web template?
    Thank you

    Hi,
SY-UNAME is part of the text elements (Parameter SYUSER).

For SY-SYSID you would need to use the table-interface to get this information to the frontent.

  • BEx Web Template for Planning (IP)

Is there a standard BEx Web Template I can use for my planning (IP) query or is the norm just to make my own?
    e.g. 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_PLANNING etc.

    Hi Joel,
SAP does not provide any planning specific web templates.
you can create your own web templates.
    Hope this helps.

  • BEx Web Template (BTMP) and Web Template (TMPL)

    Hi,
I found in BI7 Objects, there are BEx Web Template (BTMP) and Web Template (TMPL). what's the different between them? For the BEx Web Template (BTMP), i can find in Web Application designer.
But for Web Template (TMPL), I cannot find them in Web Application designer. How can I edit them?
for example, there is a standard Web Template (TMPL)  0tpli_0tct_mc01_q0111, where can I change it?
    Many Thanks
    Jonathan

    hello,
TMPL is for 3.5 template and BTMP is for BI 7.0 templates. For opening 7.0 template you need to use BI 7.0 WAD not 3.5 WAD.
you can open the standard template 0tpli_0tct_mc01_q0111 in WAD and then do save as to save it custom template.
Then you can edit the custom template and make the changes.
Make sure that the std. template is installed correctly.

When I open the NWBC for HTML, the BEx web template menu item is not visible (All other menu items from PFCG appear in the PFCG menu).  I'm I missing something?

  • Input for Java in the BEx Web Template Installer

    Hello,
When you run the BEx Web Template Installer by choosing the "Complete BI PostInstallation" template and clicking Execute Template, you receive two input areas, one for ABAP and one for JAVA.  Do the input values for the JAVA section apply to the BI system or the Portal system?
    Thank you,
    Janice

    Hello,
Yes, these seetings apply to the Business Intelligence Java Components (BI Java), but I am wondering if this is the means to connect to our Portal system or whether the Portal connection is done a different way? When I call transaction RSPLAN -
    > Hit on 'Start Modeler'. -->Log on to J2EE/PORTAL, I am directed to the "webdynpro" URL. I receive the following error message "The system is unable to interpret the SSO ticket received". We already have SSO configured between BI and the Enterprise Portal, so does it need to be configured for BI also and if so why?

  • Which Role to execute a BEX Web Template iView

    Hi All,
I have created a BEX Web Template iView. However, my test user does not have permission to see the the web template (error message is something like "User is missing credentials for system alias SAP_BW").
Does anybody know which role my user needs to merely show the web template?
    Thanks, Johannes

    Johannes,
For the system object, SAP_BW, open the permissions and add a everyone group and ensure you have the enduser checked & you should be good to go.
    Cheers!

  • How to recall variable screen in Bex web template 3.5 ?

When I execute a BW web report and I want to recall the variable screen in order to modify a variable , how to ....
Also how to export to excel ? is it possible to export table + graph ?
Indeed in query designer , when you execute the query, you see icons to do these task. But when you execute the web template, you don't have automaticaly the icons' bar.....
How to display this bar ?
    Thanks 4 your help

    Hi Michael,
In the web template properties there should be a tick box called 'display variable', the web template will now show the variable entry screen.
You can create a commad with the command wizard which will allow you to export to excel or show graph and table.
    Thanks,
    Nick.

  • Web Template Nav Filter Question

    Hi,
I have a Nav Item in my web template and the DataProvider query has Fiscal Year with a variable in the free characteristics.  The variable is "single value" and is populated with the current year 2006 via the variable user-exit.
When I call the web template the FY variable value 2006 shows up in the nav web item as a filter.  This confuses me because if I add another value say 2005 to the filter via the nav block it doesn't seem to make the additional 2005 value available in the variable user exit.
Why does the variable value 2006 show up as a filter when it's set up as a variable?
    Thanks!

    Hi Kenneth,
There are three approaches you may follow:
    1) Either make the variable as ready for input & changable during query navigation: this can be done by right clicking on the variable and selecting edit, there will be two checkboxes at the bottom, select both. This will enable you to use the navigation block to put in values in your variable.
    2) Hide the free characteristics section in the navigation block web item properties. This has the drawback that it will hide all the free characteristics - so dont use this if you have more than one free characteritics
    3) create a list of characteristics to be displayed in the navigation block. All characteristics not mentioned here will not be displayed in the nav block.

  • Web Templates in Portal

    Chaps,
We've got couple of Templates built for BW Reporting.
Now, in the SAP Portal I noticed that the BW reports are shown in different customized web templates.
        My question is,
        (1) Can we have multiple Web Templates published in SAP Portal for different BEx reports ?
        (2) If there is a default setting for the Web Template that we do in RSCUSTV27 T-Code, how can we still have multiple Web Templates for BW Reports in Portal ?

    Hi,
You can use different web templates for your BEx Reports depending on your requirement. You can include your reports in webtemplates and then integrate these web templates in portal by creating Iviews.
The setting you make in Transaction RSCUSTV27 is for setting the Standard web template. This will be used
when you execute a query in BEx Web Analyzer ( from Query designer).
when you integrate a query in portal by providing the query name (instead of providing the web template name)
By default the standard web template used is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN. You can override this using transaction RSCUSTV27 or SAP Reference IMG under SAP Netweaver -> Business Intelligence -> Reporting-Relevant Settings -> BEx Web -> Set Standard Web Templates.

  • Passing parameters from VC 7.0 to BEx Web Application Designer (WAD) 7.0

    Hi,
I cannot find any information on how to pass VC parameters to WAD 7.0.
I read the document "How To…Integrate Visual Composer Applications and BEx Web Templates" but the steps refer to WAD 3.x which is different from WAD 7.x. If I copy - paste the code and make the right changes (like dataprovider etc), I still get many errors since (I assume) the code is DHTML which is not accepted by the XHTML editor in WAD 7.0. In the end of the document they do refer to a more recent version of WAD in which I have to drag-drop a script object from the pane and insert the highlighted JavaScript code. Even after doing this, I'm still stuck with the other code which is not accepted by the XHMTL editor at all.
Is there anybody who tried this already and is able to provide me a short guide? It's quite important that we can get this thing working.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sven

    Hi Sven,
the Web API 3.5 also works in 7.0, but is not official supported. The Web API is replaced with the BICS (BI Consumer Services). For Visual Composer you can use the web api I have done this several times. You can use dropdowns and so on in VC and pass the parameters to WAD for example for filling BI variables. For your requirements I can recommend to use the web api 3.5 reference guide for detailed description how to create the url commands.
    Best Regards,
    Marcel

  • Web template not displaying report properly for few users

    Hi,
We have a report based on a web template. The box is supposed to display values for certain fields.
For some users, this box is not displaying any values, its coming as blank and its shrinked in appearance.
This happens only for a few users. There are others who are able to see the report correctly with the values appearing
Any idea from where should we start trouble shooting and what should we look at?
    Thanks,
    Anjana

    Hi,
You can specify the properties for your Web application in each Web template. The settings you have made can then be saved in a library and applied to any other Web template as needed. Choose the Web template for which you want to make the settings from the dropdown box in the header of the Properties window of the Web Application Desginer.
Go through the link and set according to the below link you can acheive this
