BEXGETDATA only works on sandbox; where in Excel is the Provider ID saved?

What I did to test BEXGETDATA:
1.     I created a workbook in Bex Analyzer 7.x( based on 7.10, SP9, Patch 1 Rev 1507), using an existing query as the source for the Dataprovider.
2.     After it returned data, I right clicked on a key figure and did u201Cconvert to valuesu201D.
3.     I moved some data cells out of the grid to a random location on the worksheet.
4.     I saved this using the Bex toolbar save as a new workbook on the Sandbox server, and saved it as an Excel XLSM file on my desktop using Excelu2019s save.
5.     I exited Bex, came back in, connected to the sandbox, then dblclicked the XLSM file on my desktop, went to the variables screen, changed something, and the query came back just fine, except, as expected, some key figures had #NV because the parameter change returned a different set of records. So far, so good.
6.     Staying in Bex, I disconnected and reconnected to a different BW box, a QA box that is locked down for changes. I was hoping that since my data provider pointed to a query that was already there, that a simple refresh or parameter change would allow this same query to work against a different box, but it did not.
7.     I disconnected and reconnected to the sandbox and refreshed the query, but now it would not run or let me into the variables screen. It appears that once you disconnect, a reconnect does not reset everything.
8.     I poked around using SE16 on RSRWBINDEX and found that in the sandbox my Workbook In was in this table, but not on the QA box, and since it is locked I had no way to save it.
2 Questions:
1.     Is it possible to create a Bex Analyzer query that will run on any box on the landscape without having to save it on the BW box, or transport it? It appears not, even though the data provider (the source of the data) is an existing query that is already running on all boxes on the landscape.
2.     I went into the Bex query on my desktop using Excel, not Bex, and also used a Hex Editor to look at this workbook and the BEXANALYZER.XLA file. I looked through all the VBA code I could find, expecting to see somewhere a variable containing the name of the query or the ID of the workbook or Dataprovider I was running, but found neither. Does anyone know where or how this connection link is stored? How does the XLSM workbook know which query or workbook to interface with on the server?

Hi,
Its not possible to save the query as desired because the query definition/metadata is save on the bw box, which is then fetched by BEX Analyser at runtime.

hey guys
i bought my iphone 4s about 4 months ago, and about month ago when i came back from camping i turned on my iphone wich was turned of for about 5 days (at home in my drawer). i had 9 updates listed on the app store and let them update all off them at the same time. meanwhile i was also on a Viber call.(using wifi) then after 10 minutes or so the call died.the wifi could not connect anymore and later the wifi option turned grey and could not be turned on or off.
i reset the iphone , and also rebooted the device . still the wifi option remained grey.
during this period after, the iphone also was turning very hot at times and the battery could not hold longer then 4 hours.
about 2 weeks after the wifi option turned grey, one morning when i got up i realised that my battery percentage was still high(usually if i went to bed with 100% , it was about 50%or so when i got up.). then i went to the wifi option and realised that i could turn it on.it got connected to the wifi and check if it was working by opening facebook. i was functioning normally as if nothing had happened.
i remember that night was really cold and i had my airconditioning on .
that same day i realised the wifi could not stay connected for long to wifi .
the battery issue remained normal
when the wifi cant connect i put the iphone in the refrigarator for about ten minutes. and when i take it out the wifi works again
after that the wifi can hold for about an 2 or more depending on what i do on my phone.
i did no try to take it for repair , not yet
i just want to know if im the only one with this problem and what the problem really is.
and if putting youre iphone in the refrigarator can do damage.

It is a known issue and un-conventional remedy.
It is Hardware failure. I would get the iPhone changed for a good one.

Exchange Server e-mail only works on 4G or 3G 1% of the time - problem started suddenly

I've been receiving Exchange Server (Outlook) e-mail on my DROID RAZR through 3G and 4G since I got the phone last November. All of a sudden, over this past weekend, I am unable to send/receive on that account using 4G/3G except very very sporadically (once or twice a day for a few seconds). GMail is noticeably slower but appears to work, at least better than the Outlook account.
Internet through the browser on the phone works perfectly fine. However, I was unable to sync GMail contacts today, also. Further, I just tried to check for System Updates through the phone and was told that "check for update is not available at this time." I have no trouble making telephone calls or getting voice mail or texting.
Any ideas? "Sync e-mail over wi-fi only" is NOT on.
I have changed nothing on my phone. Nothing has changed with these e-mail accounts. The ONLY thing that has changed recently (of which I am aware) is that I had a non-functioning phone (not this one!!) removed from my Verizon Wireless account about a week ago, and they said it would take a few days, which would coincide with this past weekend. Is there some parameter that they could have changed at that time that would affect me receiving e-mail over 4G? Again, it is not affecting my internet connection.
My wifi is usually OFF because it runs the battery down, so that is how I know how bad e-mail over 4G suddenly became. The phone shows that it is getting 4G LTE. (I'm beginning to think this is a hardware problem.)

I understand how critical is to get emails while on our cellular network etymomel.
First I recommend removing your exchange server email completely, then power off and on to reset your device and then add email back. I also recommend to clear Data and Cache from your email application Menu>SystemSettings>Apps>All>EmailAccoutns(may be more than one)>ClearData/Cache as applicable. Keep us posted.

Hi. I'm having quite an issue here. My macbook screen is only lid when i boot and when i adjust the brightness of the screen (going all the way down and up from there). either way it goes black again after a few seconds. External monitor works though.

I buy the dirty theory as well. plug and unplug a whole bunch of times - you may be able to dislodge whatever is causing the issue. Also - make sure the plug is fully seated - (some of the pad jacks are vert tight, and you really have to work them in). I gather you are out of warrenty? Blow in the hole.
last resotr - take a toothpick, dip the end in fingernail polish, get rid of the xs, then very very gently, insert the pick and try to rub the contacts. very gently as you do not want to bend them.

.swf is only working with IE, despite my posession of the flash players.What gives?

The application tab under Tools -> Options does not register swf.In addition, Downloaded files only recognize IE for a suitable playing platform.

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder to reset all file actions.

MAC VBA Code workbook close only works when breakpoints are set - fails when no breakpoints

We have an Excel Product that we are trying to get to work on the Mac. One of the worksheets displays a disclaimer, and if the user clicks on the I Don't Accept radio button and then clicks next, the workbook is supposed to close itself. The
code is quite simple:

All of our product sheets are protected by a block of code attached to the Workbook_BeforeClose event:

This works fine on the PC. On the Mac, the workbook does not close. I can see the button fire, and when it gets to the point where the workbook is to be closed, nothing happens.
However, when I put a break point on the first line of the Workbook_BeforeClose, I can briefly see it reach the breakpoint (the line turns yellow), and then the workbook immediately closes. A breakpoint anywhere in this routine causes the same
behaviour, the close works correctly. No breakpoint, no close. Commenting out the Resume Next has no effect. The only thing that will cause the work book to close, is to put a break point on on the On Error Resume Next in the code. If
the workbook.Saved=True is commented out, the Workbook_Close code will exit, at the first if statement, but the workbook will not close.
Does anyone have any clues to this bizarre behaviour?

NO CARRIER - Phone only works in 3G mode, and periodically loses signal

Hi.
Recently my iPhone 3GS has stopped working on the 2G network and has become somewhat unstable on the 3G.
After traveling i found my phone rendered semi-defect.
After a travel through 2 countries my phone stopped working on 2G network.
to be able to connect to a "roaming" provider the phone had to be in 3G mode.
the 2G mode is now not working at all.
Once in a while the 3G also sets out, and i have to put the phone in flight mode and back to be able to get a connection to the carrier. (this could be caused by a non 3G zone i guess).
I have done the following steps to try and resolve the issue.
1) do a general network reset (no resolve)
2) do a general phone reset (no resolve)
3) do a iTunes restore, where the phone was updated, and blanked (no resolve)
continue and restore the previous backup (no resolve)
phone is running OS 3.1.3
I have tried the SIM card in another phone, and the 2G works fine on the carrier side, so i dont find the SIM defective.
somehow i thing the phone has totally flipped the 2G settings, and i dont know how to resolve it.

The internet isn't the problem. The phone really only works when I am in Wi-Fi. The data is the issue. Yes I have tried all of these resets, lost all of info on the phone and I am very fed up. This has been going on ever since the wonderful roll out of ios7. When I 1st did the upgrade it deactivated the phone, I had to go to the store, luckily they were able to fix that. Ever since then though the phone is worthless. My question at this point is more related to this being a phone issue or a Verizon issue. I live in 80207 (denver) and work in 80202 (downtown Denver). I would really just like to know if this is a network issue here, or if Apple just ruiend a perfectly good phone to get me to "upgrade."
Is this a Verizon issue or Apple issue?

Password Manager only works on some websites - Chrome

I've recently started trying to use Password Manager again, but it only works with some websites, and none of the important ones for me (where security is most important, such as banking). On these websites I see no functionality at all: no pop-ups, no storing, no autoloading.
Password Manager ver. 4.70 build 2.
Chrome Extension ver. 4.60.3
Any ideas?

Nobody else has this problem? Pw Manager works fine with this site and many others, but is useless with major banks and other more security-sensitive sites.

Command` only working in finder

I've just got a new Macbook Air and used a Time Machine backup from my old Macbook Pro to transfer settings etc. All works fine except now the command` shortcut for switching between windows in the foremost application only works in Finder, whereas it used to work on all applications (Mail, Microsoft word etc.).
Is there a way to enable this for all other applications again?

Reboot your device. Whatever it is that you typed in, a reboot will clear it out.

IPhone 4 only works on 10.5.8

My O2 3G contract was up and so was my wife's so we decided to go for two new IPhone4s - the 3Gs we had were dog slow on IOS4 - then we hit the kicker I have an iMac i7 running Snow Leopard all fine - but my wife's brand new iPhone4 when connected to her 15" G4 Powerbook running OSX 10.4.1.1 (company machine) could not be synced as the phone will only work with OSX 10.5.8.
The O2 sales person simply asked "have you got iTunes at home"? Nowhere have I been able to find anything that says you may need to spend £1800 upgrading your computer to sync your iPhone - apparently my local O2 store can't even turn the phones on because their computers aren't compatible with iPhone4 they are waiting for upgrades - but still they didn't mention this...
We have cancelled the contract on my wife's phone and gone back to her old 3G for now while she considers a Blackberry - Apple screws up again by not even supporting it's own customers. I have been a loyal supporter of Apple for many years but this has shocked me.

It clearly says on the iPhone 4 web site that OS X 10.5.8 or greater is required. The statement is where all such statements always are, under the Tech Specs tab. Both Mac and Windows requirements are listed.

They may not have known--but they should have--I'm not from your neck of the woods, but I don't believe O2 are Apple just as AT&T is not Apple here in the US.

Apple did not screw up. All you had to do was look at the iPhone 4 web site before you purchased.

My sound on my MacBook Pro laptop only works with headphones. How do I get the internal speakers to work?

My sound will only work when I plug in headphones in the jack. When I take them out, the volume button is on mute. When I go into the sound preference it says Digital Out for the output. Sometimes I get a red light when the headphone jack is at. I have tried blowing in it and have put the jack in and taken it out numerous times to see if it will reset. Nothing. Any suggestions on what to do next?

Go step by step and test.
1.Plug in and remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

    Do this twice
3. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:     "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".

Flash only works for one user

Using IE7. I have three users on my computer. All
have Administrator level access. Flash only works for one of them.
When attempting to play a video on YouTube for example it says "You
either have JavaScrip turned off or an old version of Adobe Flash
Player."
JS is turned on and the current version of Flash Player is
installed.
So does anyone know what is going on here?

I was able to fix my problem of Flash only working on user
account. I did the following two steps to correct the problem:
1. First uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX
control by following the instructions stated in
tn_14157.
2. Second Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission
issues that prevent the Flash Player installation by following the
instructions stated in
fb1634cb.
Following the above two steps, fixed my problem of only
having Flash run on only one user account. Now it runs on all four
user accounts.
As a side note: The Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control
would not run in user accounts with Limited access. But when I set
the permission of the user account to administrative, then Flash
would work.
