Beyonce's Visual CD of Album Wont Import to iTunes

I recieved Beyonce's CD for christmas, and i'm trying to import to itunes. It comes in an Audio CD and a Visual CD.  I can't get the Visual CD to import to Itunes.  I wish to do this so it can go through my Itunes Match and both audio and videos be available.

This symptom is usually a firmware problem on the
optical drive. Run CD Diagnostics (from the Help
menu in iTunes) and paste your results into a post on
this thread. I'll take a look at them, and see if
anything jumps out.

  • ONE song wont import into iTunes?

Okay, so i have a trance mix that i want to import into iTunes. For some reason this song is the only one that won't import? It opens winamp and windows media player 10 but itunes just doesnt do anything when i try to play it. I've tried importing the whole folder, file, add a file, right click and open with iTunes program....nothing seems to work? Any help?

It is probably a WMA protected file. These are files that will run on windows and some other platforms but it is not supported by iTunes. I had the same problem and was very frustrated because it was one of my favorites, i purchased it from the Wal-Mart site and they use the wma format. Was just out of luck on that song!

  • How can I stop Compulations CDs from being broken up into multiple different Albums when imported into Itunes?

I am currently using Itunes 10.6.1.7.  When I attempt to import my CDs, any that are Compulation Cds (with multiple artists), the CDs aren't being imported into the same folder and are broken into multiple listing in my Itunes library.
How can change this so that they are imported only by Album?

I think even using Get Info may not reveal the change, though it is possible the behaviour has altered since I last tested it. Playing or updating the tracks location in a script such as UpdateTagInfo seems to get iTunes to re-evaluate the tag.
Assuming WMP is involved it may be best to make the necessary settings adjustments to prevent further changes, use the script to get all of the background changes exposed within iTunes, then correct as you see fit. Alternatively I do have another script called ExportImport that could be used to back up the current state of your tags (you should temporarily rename the media folder during the export phase), after which you would then run UpdateTagInfo and then use ExplortImport in its import mode to restore the corrupted data.

  • Album artwork imports into iTunes, but artist tags do not

    Hello,
After importing my music from an external hard drive backup, I have a problem with ~5% of my music. The songs are listed in iTunes as "Unknown Artist" and "Unknown Album". However, if I find the file within my iTunes folder, all of the artist information tags are listed if I use "Get Info" --> "More Info" in the Finder. Back in iTunes, the album artwork is there, but the tags are missing. These are for .m4a, Apple MPEG-4 audio files. How can I get iTunes to recognize the tags that are obviousy still present in the file?
There are too many songs like this to relabel the, realistically.
I have tried deleting the songs from my library and re-importing them into iTunes, but this does not fix the problem. I cannot find any logic as to which songs this affects.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

This same thing happened to me, so I plugged my iphone into the computer and I unchecked all the songs so it deleted from my phone and then i rechecked sync music back to the phone and all the album artwork were there.

  • Mpeg1 video wont import into itunes for windows

This is a rather stange one.
I have an MPEG video that will run happily on MAC using either Quick Time or Itunes. Try the same on windows and one gets a 2048 error from quick time. itunes claims it's an unknown file type.
Real Player on window or MAC is perfectly happy with the file though.
I really need to get into itunes so that it can then loaded into a video ipod.
    Any clues ?

Someone else told to me to go to the 'control panel' and click 'add new software' and click 'generic audio' or something like that and there is no 'generic audio' and when i start up my computer something says "new hardware found, do you want to download it" or something like that and then it doesn't find it. • New Merle Haggard wont import to itunes

Just bought the new Merle CD "Chicago Wind" And I think Windows media hates Merle.
Here is the problem, The cd states it will only work with wmp and that it is the only application you can use to transfer it to your mp3 player. So when I was in Itunes I just added to the library and then I was asked to hit ok to convert the wma to mp3 so that Itunes could add it to my library I found out that they are WMA protected and would not convert. But if I had the orginal cd I could import them with Itunes. Which is what I was doing. So is there a way I can do this. It is just frustrating when you buy the cd and get this treatment. Dan

I was just going to say the same thing. Thanks, Otto! Also to avoid this problem in the NEAR NEAR future, if the cd that you're buying is on BMG's label or Sony, they have this extra copy protection software on their disks. I know it's a big disadvantage, because it doesn't let us rip our music on our beloved iPods. (the iTunes Music Store features FairPlay copy protection on their files, so you can import them to your iPod and copy them no where else. Apple has not released the FairPlay technology to the disk makers yet. Sony and BMG are currently fighting Apple about this situation, and this is how they're retaliating against Apple about Fairplay. Also, don't get too worried if you see the Music Store's files increase in price - they are also dealing with that issue at the moment. I hope this info helps you! Also keep in mind that the Music Store carries many varieties of music and you can buy your music off of there using prepaid cards or credit cards from your Apple ID account. (And if you are wondering where I got it, this is not a rumor, but information from an article in the Rolling Stone magazine.)

  • Mp3 files wont import into itunes from external hard drive

I just switched from PC to Mac and have the new aluminium mac book. For my PC I had all my music stored on my external hard drive.I have begun transferring most of it to itunes, but some of the files since hooking my external hard drive to my Mac book have turned into 'Apple Files' which appear to be document files as opposed to music files. Is there a way that i can convert them into the itunes format?

WMA is not supported directly by iTunes. In iTunes for Windows, you can convert (but not play) these files, as long as they're not copy protected, to an iTunes-supported format.
Short of running Windows on your new Mac and handling this with iTunes for Windows, or using another (your old?) PC to convert the WMA files to another format (I would suggest using Apple Lossless, as otherwise you will lose some sound quality unnecessarily--unless the WMAs are WMA Lossless...), your only other option would be to play the files with software for OS X other than iTunes. In that case, you might consider VLC, which is handy for almost countless other audio and video files anyway.

  • ITunes imports songs but they wont appear in iTunes

When I go to import music, iTunes will go through the whole import process but when I go to search in my library, the songs dont appear. I can search for the album and it appears in the search box but when I click on it, nothing happens. I can go through my iTunes media folder in finder and find the album with all the songs in there but for some reason, they're not showing up in iTunes itself.
    Please help.

Do you have itunes Match switched on People have reported that switching it off can help speed up imorted content appearing.

  • My music is on a nas loaded by Windows Media Player in WAV. When I import into Itunes only the songs appear no album name etc.

My music is on a nas. Loaded using windows media player in WAV.
When I import into Itunes only the record apears, no Album name etc
How can can I see all the details

Information is often stored as tags embedded in the file.  WAV does not support tagging. I don't know how WMP works but iTunes keeps its own database about media.  For many audio formats, track information will be stored both in iTunes' database and in the file itself as tags.  With formats such as mp3 most tags (not all) will 'travel' with the file when copied.  This does not happen with WAV where the information is only stored in the player application's database.
