Redistributing Floating Static route
Hi All,
I have a question.when we redistribute a static route with AD as 210 into MP-iBGP to carry the route to other PE's ,will it also carry the AD value for this route ?
Help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Regards
Anantha Subramanian NatarajanHello Anantha,
AD is locally significant and is never propagated to another node by any protocol including BGP.
the other PE will see a route in VRF of type iBGP so it will see something like
B [200/0]
the BGP AS path will have an origin ? meaning the prefix is the result of a redistribution on originator PE and not by the usage of network command.
Hope to help

JVM is invalid after logoff from the windows
Hello,
I have one problem using JNI inside C++. I create JVM inside C++ and launch the application as service, then I log out from windows and leave the process running. I found that the JVM is not valid after I log out although the process is still running. It gives 0xC0000005 access violation exception when any method on JVM is invoked. I tried to call AttachCurrentThread on the JVM, but it fails as well. It seems that the JNIEnv* is also corrupted.
Did anyone encounter the same problem?
Thanks.Try reading the C source code of the following products that can launch Java applications as services and check what you've done wrong. It's good to learn from people that have had the same problems as you.
- Jakarta Apache Commons Daemon ( http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/daemon/ ) - it is used by Tomcat when running as a service.
- JavaService from Alexandria Software Consulting - recommended by JBoss if you want to run JBoss as a service. -
We have a VSS based on 2x WS-C4500X-16., The VSS is used as Layer 2 Switch for diffrents Vlan in our DC.
After making the VSS as a Layer 3 gateway for our production VLAN and added 2 routes for routing purposes, we encountered a network down time with high CPU in the VSS and a huges log messages :

Can you help please,Hi,
thanks for your reply, but there is no hsrp configured, just an interface vlan. with 2 static routes and the problem was there for more than an hour before we decided to rollback.
Is there a BugId with this problem in Cisco DataBase.

BGP Path Selection - Favor Oldest Routes
I've been poking around in a few test routers trying to find where BGP states how long a route has been known from a neighbor. Based on Cisco's BGP path selection article: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/border-gateway-protocol-bgp/13753-25.html, #10 states BGP prefers the oldest known route.
What command shows the amount of time a route has been known via BGP?Thanks for your reply, Paul.
The first command just shows the same timer as the sh ip bgp summary timer. It's just the timer of the neighbor relationship.
The second command just displays how long the route has been in the routing table. I've tested this and found that when BGP loses a route to a network and then selects a different path that it had known about, the timer resets to 0. Even though it had known about the path for a while, it still resets to 0.
So thanks to everyone for your responses, but I'm still looking for some way to see the age of a BGP-learned route. -
"Invalid Static Route" - WRT320N
Hello,
I can't add any static routes on my WRT320N (Updated to latest firmware), it immediately gives me the "Invalid Static Route" message.
The route am trying to add has work WRT160N.
Any ideas
Thanks
KhalilNo it's not on the same subnet.
as I said the route I'm trying to add already worked on WRT160N with the same config.
Firmware 1.0.03 build 10 (Release Date: August 13, 2009) release notes includes the following:
1. Windows 7 support
2. FIxed issue with Radius server settings
3. Fixed Static route where some entry can not be added.
4. Fixed configuration via Network Magic
5. FIxed PPTP internet connection type not working correctly with Connect on demand.
6. Fixed issue with blocking NMH remote access from working
7. Fixed some HND services that may break connect on Demand option.
8. Fixed various HND issues.
9. Fixed some failed case with UPnP.
The strange thing is my router status page lists the firmware as:
Firmware Version: v1.0.03 build 010 Jul 24, 2009
notice the difference in dates.
I did upgrade to latest firmware my self, so it shouldn't be an issue may the time between testing the build internally and releasing it publicly.
But as you can see number 3 is about static routes. -
Linksys E3000 Invalid Static Route
I just got a Linksys E3000 to replace my old WRt54G router. I have another Linksys router configured as a bridge and all is working well now. My issue is that I am trying to add a static route to the new E3000 for my subnet behind the bridge and it keeps telling me "Invalid Static Route". Now I have the ethernet interface IP set to 192.168.1.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.128. the static route I am trying to add is
Destination LAN IP: 192.168.0.128
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.128
Gateway: 192.168.1.7 (2nd router configured as bridge)
This static route works great on the existing router, but the E3000 will not take it.I would also be very interested in seeing this resolved. I have spent a couple of days trying to resolve and Linksys support advise "we can't help you with this - too complicated for us". I am trying to solve exactly the same problem. Bridged modem is on 192.168.0.1 and I am using standard subnet mask for class C adressing (255.255.255.0). Intuitively i would have thought the following would do the trick:
Destination LAN address would be: 192.168.0.0
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (the address of the ES3000 router)
I consider myself a novice here however and welcome any solution. Linksys only suggestion was to put everything on the same network which requires the DHCP server to run from the modem .... no longer really bridged and what i was trying to avoid. I want this functionality to be performed by the router.
Thanks in advance (P.S. the ES3000 is a week old and has the next to latest firmare. The notes for the latest do not appear to adress this issue so i haven't reflashed it at this stage). -
Hi Folks,
I have a few Solaris 10 production machines here at work and had a strange thing happen. I added a new route to these machines using the "add route <destination > <gateway>" command and my web applications running in the zones on these machines froze up. The applications that froze had no reason to do this as they have never talked to the machine in this new route. Here is the old route table via netstat -rn:

Thanks,

tom.gellert@tellabs.comGreg- Dreamweaver CS4/Live View integration with BrowserLab allows you to send interactive states of a local site/design directly to BrowserLab (dynamic data, rollover/mouse interaction states, widget states, et al), and from behind firewalls no less- definitely a scenario we covered. You can get the extensions (which require Dreamweaver CS4, of course) up on the Labs site: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/browserlab/

What syntax would I use to take off a DMZ, Outside static route from a Pix
I am having a problem with mail coming in and currently have all smtp traffic going to a mail filtering server. I want to point the traffic directly to the exchange server instead, but, before I do I want to make sure that I can take that static route off after the test.
This is the syntax that I have and would like to change.
static (DMZ,outside) tcp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx smtp 172.16.xxx.xxx smtp netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0
I would like to point it to another IPA and then take it off.Hello,
not sure if this is what you are asking, but check this link to the PIX command reference:

Error when attempting to remove static route from ASA 5525x running version 9.0(4)
Hello,
I am having difficulty in removing static routes from my ASA5525x, hoping someone here may be able to help.
Example:
ASA5525X/pri/act# sh route | in 192.168
S 192.168.60.0 255.255.255.0 [1/0] via 64.57.xxx.xx, OUTSIDE
ATLCOLO-ASA5525X/pri/act(config)# no route OUTSIDE 192.168.60.0 255.255.255.0 64.57.xxx.xx
%No matching route to delete
There are several which need to be removed, all 192.168.x.x/24, pointing to the Outside interface using the same address 64.57.xxx.xxHi,
I think i agree with Jon that this is probably due to RRI from the VPN configuration.
Also , check this output:-
show asp table routing and see if you see it in here as well.
We also have some defects so please provide the relevant interface and routing configuration and also the ASA code version.
Thanks and Regards,

LinkSys E1000 invalid static route!
Hi I'm from Russia
Your product is stable but not profitable
For the price your customers is easier to buy a model Zyxel
Correct firmware for the static route, or Dynamic Routing (RIP)
LinkSys E1000
Enabled - Dynamic Routing (RIP) NO RESULTS!
ZyXEL KEENETIC LITE - automatic routing! What exactly you are trying to do? Since, all Linksys routers are set to Class C subnet.
If you will try to enter IP address of different Subnet the router will not respond.. -
I'm trying to add a static route to my 350n and it keeps saying "invalid static route" no matter what I try???
Here's what I have:
External IP = static, on the 350n
Lan IP = 192.168.28.1/24
I need to route 172.17.0.1/16 to 192.168.28.253 so I did:
Setup>Advanced Routing:
Route Name = foo
Destination Lan IP = 172.17.0.1
Mask = 255.255.0.0
Gateway = 192.168.28.253
Interface = Lan & Wireless
Then I click save and get the error....what am I doing wrong? As per my knowledge you should use IP in the Class C range ... without that the router will not accept the Static IP also ....

NI-4060 giving invalid 1st reading after switching from or to LOW Resistance Measurements
We've been using TestStand & LabView to test various Circuit board. On series of test involves checking for a short circuit (Measure Low Resistance 4-wire) then measuring for a 3.5Vrms signal on another part of the board.
For each measurement, the following NI-DMM VI's are used in order:
niDMMInit, niDMMAutoZero, niDMMConfigure, niDMMMeasure, niDMMClose.
If we do the Low Resistance 4WR measurement, then a AC V measurement, the 1st reading from the DMM is approx 10x too high, if a 2nd reading it done it is then OK.
It doesn't matter how long a delay is before we take the 1st measurement, it's always approx a factor of 1E+1 out.
If however we don't do a Low Restance prior to
the AC V measurement, then the measurement is always correct.
I expermented with turning AutoZero on & off, and various resolution settings, however none of these seem to have an effect on the result.
Can anyone explain these strange results?
Thanks

http://www.measx.comThanks, after playing with a few more settings I found if I turned the Cacheing off niDMMInitWithOptions, with "Cache=0" that everything worked fine, but it would take a couple of seconds to get the first AC measurement after switching from resistance.

Can't get router working after switching from DSL to Cable broadband???
I have a WRT54G v.5
I just switched from dsl service to cable broadband. I can't get my router to work. I hooked it back up just as the dsl modem used to be. there is an ethernet cable that goes from the cable modem to the router. then an eithernet cable that goes from the router to the computer. this does not work. If I just take the router out of the loop and run an eithernet cable straight from the cable modem to the computer it works fine. so the cable internet service is working fine up to the modem. The router is the problem. I have restarted both the computer and the router. so that rules that out. can you help me?Open the setup page of the router by launching an Internet Explorer Browser and type the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field empty and provide password as admin and click on ok.On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings button. Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".- Click on enable.Click Clone & click save settings
Check WAN Ip on Status page of router .... If getting Valid Ip .... try going online...If not ... power cycle for 4-5 minutes & then, try going online.
