BH-217 Car cradle charger

Can anyone who has a BH-217 kit tell me whether the car charger stays in the car cradle when the headset is not in it? I'm looking for a headset which has a dock that will charge the headset when not in use and therfore always be available. Looking at the design though, i cannot determine whether the charger cable actually holds in place in the car dock, and therfore when you put the headset in the dock it will start charging, or whether you have to physically attach the charger to the dock each time you replace the heasdset in order for it to charge?

Hi
Yes, the charger can plug into the holder and remain there while the headset is removed.

  • IPhone 5 getting very hot in car cradle

I have bought a BMW cradle to charge my iphone 5 which also boosts the signal. It is an authentic BMW/Apple part. The iphone gets very hot even on short journeys. Is this normal?

    Hi Jooles,
Normally, when you charge an iPhone or any Apple device it gets hot when you are using it . However, I'm using a Car Cradle as well that I bought few years ago and it doesn't gets hot. I think it depends on which brand or model you are using.
Just a question, are you using a different cable? or an External Antenna?

  • N95 Car cradle with antenna connection

    Hi Everyone
    A little advice please.
Im looking at buying the N95 on the Next G network....due to our remote location i will need to use a car cradle with an axternal antenna. I have looked everwhere to see if i can find one but with all the different advice i have looked at i have got a little confused. Can anyone let me know of a car cradle for the N95 which has inbuilt charger and connction for external high gain antenna?

Another solution is to get another phone with an external antennae kit and clone your sim card (if your provider does not support multi handies on the same sim number OR get the in-car cell booster system instead if you absolutely want an N95.
    http://www.wi-ex.com/
I would prefer the Car Cell Booster kit since this is the preferred choice to get a better signal since it is an active booster and not passive.
Before buying this unit, MAKE SURE it works with your cell provider's frequencies cause this unit is for North America.
Here is a provider that will be releasing a european model soon.

  • IPhone Car Cradle for Audi

Just spoke to Audi and they are only just starting to design and produce the cradle for the new iPhone
I asked why and they told me that Apple refused to release details in advance so they knew when we did.
Crazy really when you think about it, iPhone is the leading phone for business and most of us use them in the car.
I for one will not be buying an iPhone 5 until the car cradle is available, I'm told this could be at least 8 months away at best.....

    Frustrating isn't it!!
What I have done is use the USB cable from AMI and plugged my iPhone 5 USB charging cable in.  Not ideal but its a short term solution to charge your phone whilst on the move until the cradle becomes available.

  • How to fit 5110 into car cradle in '01 Mercedes Be...

I've just bought a secondhand '01 MB E320 which the owners manual tells me is set-up to take a Nokia 5110 so that hands free calls can be made via the in built Sat Nav system. I purchased a Nokia 5110 on eBay, it perfectly
matches the pictures in the MB owners manual, the ID in the back of the phone (under the battery) verifies that it is indeed a model 5110.
Problem: The phone won't fit the cradle:
The connector pins match, the shape of the cradle recess is the same as the phone, but the stubby ariel prevents the top end of the phone from sitting down into the cradle recess. I've confirmed the car hasn't been modified, it's the original phone cradle that was put into the car at build !
    Any suggestions on a remedy?

    Hi naida
I wonder whether as factory fitted cradle utilizes inbuilt antemma on the car instead of the phone's stub aerial.
At the back of the 5110 below the antenna there is a connector for an external antenna. The connector may be protected by a rubber cap. If it is, first remove the cap before inserting phone in car cradle.
Please see page 31 of the user manual.

  • Incase Dual Car USB Charger with Lightning to USB Cable

    Hi,
I just buy this item and it seems that the item is not working...
    What can i do?
Incase Dual Car USB Charger with Lightning to USB Cable
    $39.95
    Yakir

    jddj,
If the charger uses the firewire pins (even though it uses a USB cable) to charge in the car it won't charge the iPhone 3G.
The iPhone 3G supports charging and syncing over USB only, the original iPhone supported charging over firewire in addition.
    Hope this helps,

  • Is it safe to use the USB port in my car to charge my iPhone 5s or do I need to buy a car charger?

Is it safe to use the USB port in my car to charge my iPhone 5s or do I need to buy a car charger?

Check car manual to see if it supports charging ,some do not
or use a USB 12 volt plug in for the "cigarrette lighter" socket and plug into that ,probably a better solution

  • Are You Looking For A Car Cradle? Here You Go!

I just got my FlexPed from a company called Thought Out & its pretty sweet so far. It fits the 30GB iPod very well indeed. As of now, this is the only car cradle I know of that can be used with the new iPod. I was going crazy without my new iPod in my car, but no more. Now I can watch videos while I drive! Take a look at my setup in my Scion xB:

There is a little vibration, but only on rough roads. Plus, I drive a Scion xB and they do have a "stiffer" ride than most cars out there.

  • Car Cradle for Nokia 8800

Does anyone know when the car cradle is being released for the Nokia 8800 to suit an Audi S4 Cabriolet ??

If you have the car kit factory fitted by Audi then this is an issue for Audi. If you have a Nokia car kit fitted as an aftemarket product then only Nokia can answer the question. My opinon is that they probably wont make a cradle for this phone because it is a designer phone not a common use phone. The 8800 dose have bluetooth connection available if thats any good to you.

  • Modified car USB charger - 400 mA?

I purchased a cheap no-name car USB charger to charge my iPod Shuffle in the car. When I tested it the first time it didn't work (no flashing yellow light). Then I read on an electronics DIY page on the Internet (http://www.jeffmcfadden.com/tech/shuffleCharger) that a charger for the iPod Shuffle needs to have both data pins and the ground pin of the USB port connected to each other in order to work. So I soldered the three pins toghether on the chip inside the charger, did some measuring to see if everything seemed OK and the plugged in my iPod Shuffle. And what do you know: the yellow light starts blinking!
BUT this charger is rated max 400 mA and I think the iPod Shuffle wants more "juice" than that. The LED on the charger goes from green to red when I attach the Shuffle to it which I take as an indication that the charger is overloaded. Still the Shuffle flashes yellow...
I just wanted to know how many mA the iPod Shuffle wants from its charger? Do you think that the shuffle will charge anyway?

Someone else has used a Motorola phone charger, which just happens to have the right specs but they were told it would void their warranty.
I would think only 500mA is necessary as this is all USB provides, but perhaps the USB connection is detected in a different way. Are any details written on the mains adapter that Creative supply e.g. rated current?

  • Car Cradle for Charging and External Antenna Compatible with Tour

Is there a car kit that allows easy charging and connection to external antenna for the Tour?  I had Comfort Cradles by Bury for my last two BlackBerrys, but I just was disappointed to learn that Bury does not have or even plan one for the Tour.  Any suggestions?  If I had known this before, I probably would have stayed with my 8830.  Thanks.

To answer my own query - I just spoke to someone at Smoothtalker and was informed that Smoothtalker will be releasing a charging cradle, with external antenna conttection, for the "Tour" in "about a month."
I still would be interested in hearing from anyone else with any information concerning this.
    Thank you,.

  • No charging with 6280 in car cradle

hi all, have just swapped my phone to a 6280,so my incar kit for a 6310 is no good.bought the cradle cr43 and changed the wire to the ca 55 so i thought thats that, all other features work ie mic, speaker and radio mute, but no charging of phone whilst in the cradle?any ideas?

this is from the CA-55 page:
The Nokia Advanced Car Kit works with various Nokia mobile holders and antenna couplers:
    Holders: MBC-13L, MBC-14M, MBC-15S, CR-1, CR-5, CR-6, CR-21, CR-23
    Antenna couplers: AD-13, AD-14, AXF-13L, AXF-15S
and this bit is from the FAQ:
Can I charge my Nokia mobile phone while it is connected to the Nokia Converter?
The mobile phone can be charged when connected to a compatible Nokia mobile holder.
so i guess as the cr-43 isnt listed as a compatible holder, it wont be able to charge.
please dont shout me down over this, its just information that is on nokia' pages.Message Edited by rufao on 23-May-2006
