BI 7.0 BEx report in Web

Hi,
We are using NW2004s.
I vreated the query in Query designer and I tried to view the query in web then it is not picking up the correct URL,it is taking the following URL:
http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=PCA_C01Q1&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1
But it works fine when I tried it manually the following URL:
http://EIMREYMDD0.eimskip.net:8000/sap/bw/BEx?cmd=ldoc&infocube=0PCA_C01&query=PCA_C01Q1&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1&sap-language=EN
The problem is why it is not picking up the correct URL when I am trying to see it through BEx query designer.In SMICM we have the following entries:
No.               1
Log               HTTP
Service Name/Port 8000
Host Name         EIMREYMDD0.eimskip.net
Keep Alive        30
Proc.Timeout      60
I have acticated everything in SICF.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to replicate a bex report in WEBI.In the bex report based on a variable value i show either planned values or actual values for amount field, both of which are coming from 2 different cubes.How do i achieve the same functionality in a webi report?

You cannot merge two SAP BW universes into one. THe only option for merging to different SAP sources (BEx queries) in a single universe is to use the Data Federator.
Use your BEx query based on the multiprovider you already have as data source for your universe.

Document integration for Bex reports and web reports

Hi,
I would like to attach few documentaion (like business usage of the report) for all existing reports in BW system. We are delivering all reports through Bex reports and Web reports.
Report user should be able to see attached documentation through "Document" property in Web report.
I have followed this way but not able to get on-line documentation for queries.
1. RSA1--> Documents >Meta Data> selected Object type ELEM> Import document> attached word document.
2. I enabled Documents property in Query designer.
3. When I executed this query in Bex, I could see document symbol for all characteristics & Key figures in all cell (in default view)
4. The same result with Web report (all cells are having document symbol).
But I dont want to display documents in defaul view, if any user wanted to have doucment info, then should click on "document" tab and should be able to down load / read on line.
Let me know why I am getting document symbol for all key / char, even though i selected "ELEM". I know we could direclty import documents in query designer, what is the difference..

there I want to enter my url path
but
when I tried enter url it,s showing one error msg
An entry already exists with the same key
Message no. SV009
Diagnosis
When creating an entry, you entered a key, which already exists.
System Response
The entry cannot be created.
Procedure
Specify another key or remove the entry using the function Skip.
When tried to view this entries its showing another error msg
Table V_RSTC_CALL_BIAC has no relevant fields
Message no. SV039
DiagnosisThe system has attempted to create a pop-up window with a selection of fields. None of these fields can be displayed.
System Response
To avoid displaying an empty screen, processing was terminated prematurely. The action you requested (search or replace) can therefore not be performed

Just you want to execute Bex report in WEB..........
goto Bex analyzer......find the report..select it and add it to your favourites.....then open the sap bw default screen....(SAP Easy access SAP Business warehouse)....under favourites.....report will be displayed......just double click it.......report will be executed in WEB.....if you want ......copy the URL from their....

Converting BEx reports to Webi reports

Hello experts,
On my project client want to convert bunch of BEx reports into Webi reports what is the best way?
I heard about super query that means do we need to create a consolidated query for bunch of reports in BEx then convert into universe? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Ram,
I would not recommend the so called super query route. Rather use or create bex queries for a specific reporting requirement. It may be so that a single bex query and universe could fulfill a few reporting needs. Try to keep the number of key figures low. I stand corrected but having many key figures amounts to plenty of processing due to the unit of measures having to be processed.
We had a similar project and in the end we created almost a bex query per 2 - 3 reports and it worked well.

This could be of two reasons. One is formula collision if you are using formulas in the report. You can set from the properties which formula to act.
Secondly, if you are having key figures data with diff dimensions i.e diff units or currencies used in calculations. This can be eliminated using NODIM() function in new formula.
Check out which case applies to you.....

Best approach to "migrate" from BEX reports to Webi reports ?

i have read lots of documents regarding best practices on how to built webi reports and universes on top of BW.
But i can't find any document about best approach, not in performance way of thinking but in best way of using reports.
i mean: when end users are coming from bex reports (where they can drill down through hierarhies and use free filters ) to webi reports (where layout is quite beatiful and user can change it easely), this is not the same way of consuming reports.
I come from BO world and are new on reporting on top of BW.
for me webi is good for quite static layout reporting where data is clear and available.of course you can have prompts for interactivy and more accurate reporting. Drill down is just a functionality but is not the real purpose of the report tool.
So ,according to me there is a gap between both tools (BEX and WEBI) but end users are the same.
So i 'm wondering if you have any feedback for the best approach to build webi reports where end users are coming from bex reporting.
And how to choose between prompts, drill-down (with available filters on top of the window), fold/unfold and input controls or just having diffrent levels of hierarchies in the table/ section/ breaks but without drill down (because if you drill down, report begins weird with diffrent levels) ...?
So , if you have any feedback , advise....

WEBI don't replace BEX reports, is for different audience, in fact BEX is for OLAP reports and analysis.

BEx reports on web

Hello Experts - My client wants to know, if the reports developed using Web Application Designer can be made available in the portal via ABAP stack. The client doesn't want to pay for the Java stack on the BI server. By the way we are using BI 7.0. Please refer me to any site which can help me in finding out details on running the web reports on the ABAP stack. Appreciate your help.

You can use WAD3.x to display web templates on the ABAP stack without a JAVA Stack.... even if you are on 7.0 and WAD 3.x can take 7.0 queries...

In our BO Webi report hierarchy with measure values showing more(almost double value) compare to BW Bex report. Can any one please help on this.
Is it BW problem or BO problem?

Webi Report on top of a BEx Report vs a Universe in BI 4.0

Not sure if this belongs in this forum or a different one
I am trying to build a report in BI 4 against a BEx report and I don't know if this is possible or not. When I created the universe on top of the BEx report, the hierarchy levels convert to objects. My report requirement is to show different levels of the hierarchy on different tabs. Is there any way to break the hierarchy apart so that each level is a separate object or do I still need to go through the universe to achieve this?

Let me try to explain in a different way. I have used the UDT in BI 4.0 to create a universe against a BEx report. As the universe is being built against the BEx report, it takes the different levels of the hierarchy and creates objects for each level. Lvl01 Cost Center, Lvl02 Cost Center... Lvln Cost Center. However when I try to create a report in Webi using the BICS connection, I only see Cost Center. Is there any way to create the Lvl01 Cost Center, Lvl02 Cost Center... Lvln Cost Center in BEx up front?

I am on BO 4.0 SP05 Patch 6. Webi reports are just showing processing but not giving results. When I try to create new report it is throwing java security error.
Tried applet patch upgrade(From link : https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000902752013E) for webi certificate but didn't help.
Please suggest what could be done.

Web templete showing "EA" in the Key figure but not in Bex Report

When I exucute my query in BEx , the report works fine , but while exucuting in Web , "EA" is getting added after every Key figure Value..

I think you did't understood the problem correctly .
My Bex report don't have any Quantity Key figure So in bex report no Unit( If I think EA is Unit ) is coming . Same should come while executing in Web . But the Problem is in Web some EA symbol is coming .
N.B : Our system just undergone SP upgrade .

How to Apply sign flipping applied in Bex Query in Web i report

We have created a universe on top of Bex query and we have applied sign reversal to two of our rows in bex query,
unfortunately when I run a report in webi the reversal of sign is not getting reflected in web i report.

That BEX Property will not be surfaced to the OLAP API
Same goes for Conditions, Scaling Factor etc. Please take a look at Note 1387793 - BEx functionality features that are not supported or integrated in WebIntelligence

Data Different in Web reports and Bex Report

Dear Experts,
We found that the data in web reports is not in line with BEx reports, The Infoprovider is same the query is same. But when we are executing reports with same varialbes in BEx and Web reports, they are showing different values.
COuld you please let us know what could be the possible reasons for the above criteria, and how to overcome it?
