BI 7.0 Java add-in Uninstall
Previously Installed Java-addin with BW 3.5 upgrade and used ABAP for UME. Upgraded to BI 7.0 and need to reinstall java stack and use database for UME so that I can setup connection to LDAP.
Is there a way to uninstall the java add-in on AIX/Oracle? Is an uninstall required?
/sapinst doesn't appear to have an uninstall for the java add-in except maybe for maxdb. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
David Hill
HI David:
There is a way of installing J2EE Add In.
You will have to look for that procedure in the NW04 install guide for Oracle.
The procedure of uninstalling the engine is same for both NW04 and NW04s.
Please have a look at the installation guide for NW04/Oracle/OS.
You should be able to find it in there.
I hope you find this information useful.
Thanks

Can't start SAP after Java add-in installation
Hi,
We have migrated our BW 3.1C system to BI 7.0 (Win2003, Oracle 10.2, non-unicode). Everything was OK with the Abap system upgrade. Now we are making a BI Java installation over the BI 7.0 Abap system (Java add-in installation). We have made the first step, SCS instance installation and now the SAP BI 7.0 abap system doesn't startup.
The workprocess fail to connect to Oracle and don't startup:

There is no "C Nls CharacterSet..." line, the problem must be something regarding NLS charactersets, non-unicode/unicode issues...
But we don't know how to solve the problem.
Any idea?

Java Add-in on an existing ABAP instance
Hi, I uninstalled the ABAP instance before installing ABAP+JAVA. However, when I started sapinst to install JAVA Add-in (Step 1 of 3), it prompts for the profile directory and I no longer can find it under \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile directory since the instance is removed. Is this the right way I am going?
"Keep in mind that you cannot(bold) install the Java Add-In for the dialog instance(s) of the existing ABAP system. Instead, you have to uninstall the old ABAP dialog instance(s) install new ABAP+Java dialog instance(s)."
looks pretty clear to me you can't add a Java add-in to a "Dialog instance"; This means that if you have a Central instance with ABAPJAVA and ABAP dialog instances you cannot install Java add-ins to them... you'll need to unistall the dialog instance and install and ABAPJAVA dialog instance... that connects to a already existing ABAP+JAVA Central instance.
Hope is clear now.

Juan

SAP Secure Store error at Java add-in installation
During the Java add-in installation, at phase "Install Java Engine", I get the error "A key/value pair with this key already exists in the store".
How can I fix it?
[ECC6]Sorry for not making clear.
To uninstall java stack:
1. Drop the J2EE DB schema (the db schema for this one SAP SID). Be very
careful not to drop the DB schema for another existing system or the
ABAP system since it will destroy your data.
2. Remove DIR_GLOBAL/security/data
3. Remove DIR_INSTANCE/SDM
4. Remove DIR_INSTANCE/j2ee
5. Revert CI instance profile to their original state (backup copies
should exist in the profile directory)
6. Deinstall SCS using SAPinst
7. Restart ABAP
This should remove the java stack without affecting the ABAP system.
Then the correct order for installation will be:
1. Install Central Services Instance (SCS) Java Add-In
2. Install Database Instance Java Add-In
3. Install Central Instance Java Add-In

BI 7.0 Java Add-on installation hangs
Hi Guru's
While doing upgrade of BW 3.5 (Netweaver 2004) to BI 7.0 (Netweaver 2004s) during Java Add-on installation at "Database Instance Java Add-in" phase the installation hang on "Import Java dump" phase.
I have tried to kill and restart the installation 2-3 times and restarting the complete installation once again it stops at the same phase. Kindly let me know what can be the reason because we have not face this issue in DEV and QA environment. It is my production server.
The environment is HP-UX IA64 with oracle 10g.
Thanks in advance.Hi Rajesh,
What stage is the installation hanging at ?
Please provide any error info from sapinst_dev.log
Check if java engine is installed and is up and running or not.. You could check the j2ee work directory under which you find j2ee stack related traces.
e.g. check std_server0 to see if the server is up or not
Please send more details

Java Add-in Installation of the Central instance installation
I'm trying to re-install the Java Add-in Central Instance for ABAP.
During the installation of Java Engine, i met the error on SecureStore step.

I had the right roles at the user SAPJSF.
I have also renamed the files in /usr/sap/MWF/SYS/global/security/data

Anybody knows how is possible to follow with the installation?
Best Regards.Dear Kumar,
referring to the note 1063396, i haven't got "iaik_jce_export.jar" file in the directory specifed in the note.
So, i've just renamed the following files
SecStore.key
SecStore.properties
NOTHING DIFFERENT.
To be sure, i have also renamed the directory /sapmnt/MWF/global/security/data --> data.old
You can see the result on the following log:

Install error FJS-00003: JAVA Add-In on AMD64 platform (NW04 SR1)
Hi gurus:
I came over an ugly error while trying to install the XI.
1. - I downloaded the corresponding software from the SAP Marketplace, as in the normal DVDs the AMD64 platform was not included.
2. - I copied the CDs for the EXPORT and the JAVA-Engine to one directory each, respective called export and JavaDVD. In directory JavaDVD I had to modify the LABEL.ASC file to be later accepted.
3. - I installed the ABAP WAS 6.40, unicode version. Everything worked ok. Also the post installation tasks could be carried out without problems.
4. - I wnated to install the JAVA Add-In. Everything starts fine, but the installation stops with the following lines in "sapinst_dev.log":

hi peers. Finally I've got an answer from SAP. The file was simply missing from the distribution! I created it in the corresponding subdirectory:
I:\JavaDVD\J2EE_OSINDEP\J2EE-ENG\FS\
with just one line of text in it:
TC_SEC_JAVA_CRYPTO_FS_LIB.SDA
This solved that problem - the step could be carried out without any more problems.
BTW: What I do not understand is that the file was missing. Not only from the downloaded media, also from SPA's original DVDs. No such installation can work.... -
BI-IP implementation in BI 7.0(NUC)+ Java Add-In(UC) system
Hi Experts,
We want to implement BI-IP in our existing SAP BI 7.0 system which we upgraded from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 followed by adding the Java Add-In. During the installation of the Java Add-In central instance the BI-Java, EP Core & EP software units were selected as well, so technically this system has all the components needed for the BI-IP implementation i.e BI(ABAP), AS Java/EP/EPC, BI(Java), the question or concern now raised is
"As we know BI 7.0 is a non-unicode setup, while Java Add -In is a unicode setup", will a combination of the unicode & non-unicode in the same BI server be able to be utilized for the BI-IP implementation purpose?, does SAP support such combination?.
Please advice if the BI-JAVA & BI-ABAP installed in the same BI7.0 system utilizing unicode & non-unicode kernel will work for the BI-IP implementation just like it works under scenario where BI-JAVA, EP, EPC are running under the EP7.0 system & BI-ABAP is running in the BI7.0 system.
Find attached some info on the BI, ECC6 & EP systems.
ECC6: It was upgraded from R3 4.6C to ECC6, It's on AIX 5.2, Oracle 10.2 & Kernel is Non- Unicode
EP 7.0: It was upgraded from EP 6.0 to 7.0. It's on AIX 5.2, Oracle 10.2 & Kernel is Unicode
BI 7.0: It was upgraded from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 with Java Add-In installed later, It's on AIX 5.2, Oracle 10.2, ABAP kernel is Non-Unicode, Java kernel is Unicode
Thanks & Rgds,
AbhishekI'm in exactly the same boat.
BI Publisher is a COM Add-In... Clicking the GO... with COM Add-In selected gives me an unselected BI Publisher Template Builder for Word and the following statement for Load Behavior:
Not Loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

SAP is not coming up after installing Java Add-in
Hi,
I have installed a Java Add-in for an existing ABAP system. At the stage of "start J2EE engine" it is throwing an error message saying that Java is not coming up after 1142 seconds. I checked config tool and it is working fine. I restarted SAP. After restarting SAP, SAP is coming up and after 1 or 2 mins the disp+work is getting stopped and all the work processes are getting died. I couldn't able to understand & resolve the issue. The system is NetWeave 04. Here is the dev_w0 trace information.

Can you install a java add-in to a database other than the abap database?
When doing a java add-in installation into an ABAP stack, is it possible to put the java into it's own database, not just a different schema in the same database? If so, do you know where in the installation process it lets you do this? Thanks.
Hi Rick,
No its not possible.
For addin installation procedure, you have to follow the installation guide of the particular release.

Debasis.
