  • Why am I getting an error message from Apple Support saying that Jive no longer supports Internet Explorer 6 when I'm running FF 31.0?

When I try to access Apple Support or discussions, I get the following error message:
    Attention, Internet Explorer 6 User
Announcement: Jive has discontinued support for Internet Explorer 6.
In order to provide the best platform for continued innovation, Jive no longer supports Internet Explorer 6.
Jive will not function with this version of Internet Explorer. Please consider upgrading to Internet Explorer 7, 8, or 9, or trying another browser such as Firefox, Safari, or Google Chrome.

I'm not using IE6 — I'm on an Intel Mac Pro!! What is going on?

hello, the useragent of your browser is correctly identifying it as firefox 31. you'll probably have to approach apple's support to find out if they have a bug on their side or are displaying this message to all its users...

  • Does WebCenter Spaces support Internet Explorer 9?

Does WebCenter Spaces support Internet Explorer 9?
Will it work in IE9 default view, or is compatibility view required?

It is not listed in the compatibility matrix of the fusion middleware stack so webcenter isn't optimized (yet) for IE9. I bet in the next release they will fix the issues.
There are currently some issues with IE9 and the ADF framework and because webcenter spaces is build on top of the ADF framework i can imagine that there can be some issues so currently you better run it in compatibility view... But just test it first with IE9. it might work...

  • When a file with extension .htm as a product from Epilex is opened, there was a notify a screen, "This epiLearn is not supported on Netscape browsers. epiLearn supports Internet Explorer 5.5 or above. Please launch it in Internet Explorer"

My company has decided to use Epiplex software.
But when a file with extension .htm as a product from Epilex is opened, there was a notify a screen,
"This epiLearn is not supported on Netscape browsers. epiLearn supports Internet Explorer 5.5 or above. Please launch it in Internet Explorer".
I prefer to use Mozilla than Internet Explorer. Would u please handle Mozilla browser along this problem to be available in this matter?

This might be simple but it works well for me.
    1.
Right click on the tool bar in IE8 and uncheck adobe PDF to disable.  Click yes when it ask if you are sure.
    2.
    Open Adobe
READER located in the start menu.
    3.
Click on Edit and then on Preferences.
    4.
    Select the "General" category.
    5.
Click on "Select default PDF handler"
    6.
Adobe Reader should be already selected. Change it to reader if it is not.
    7.
Click on "Apply" and except changes.
    8.
Restart the computer and you are done.
Now you can open and save PDF's from IE8.  Once you save it, you can right click and "open with" Acrobat if you choose.
Be careful to not make Acrobat the default or you have to start over.
You can still create PDF's from docs, scans, and picture like before.  You might think this is a work around but it really isn't.
Some forms that are available on the internet can't be opened by Acrobat for security reasons.
Good luck!      P.S. I am not an IT tech but I play one on TV.

  • Apple no longer supports internet explorer 6

When I tried to sign into Apple support this screen shot is what came up on my iPad 4. Is there a problem with my iPad since I have never had this happen before. Also the whole forum section looks completely different since the last time I signed in. Thanks everyone for your help and reply.

Probably just a glitch in the forum software.  Internet Explorer 6 is very very old.  It was Microsoft's flagship browser about 10 years ago. Even Microsoft stopped supporting it a long time ago.
The fact the forum does not support it now it is perfectly normal and even expected at this point.
Why you got that screen when using a Safari browser is, as I said previously, probably due to a browser detection glitch.   I would simply load a different page in the forum to make sure.   It probably won't happen again.

  • Support for Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 (after April 8, 2014)

    Hi,
I am aware that Microsoft will stop supporting Internet Explorer 8 on April 8 2014 (the same date that Windows XP support stops).
We are running Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 as the browser.
We have not installed Internet Explorer 9 or above due to compatibility issues with internal intranet systems.
I have been trying to find out if machines that have Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 installed, will still receive newly detected Internet Explorer 8 Microsoft Security Patches from Microsoft following April 8, 2014.  This information has been difficult
    to determine on the internet.
Do you know if machines that have Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 installed, will still receive newly detected Internet Explorer 8 Microsoft Security Patches from Microsoft following April 8, 2014?
If there are any websites that you are aware of that answer either Yes or No to this question, I would appreciate if you could paste their link(s) here.
    Thanks,
    Brian.

MS don't stop supporting IE8 on April 8 2014, they stop supporting WindowsXP on that date.
If you have IE8 installed on WindowsXP, the platform becomes unsupported, as well as everything that shipped with the platform or that is installed on the platform.
IE when installed on a supported platform, is supported in line with the support status of that platform.

So, at this point in time of posting, if your platform is Windows7, IE8/9/10/11 on that platform attracts this EOS date:

  • Internet Explorer Support ... or not?.

He evryone i´m wondering how do you offer internet support. because at the time its the same as design two sites . 1 for everyone and another for i.e. and peopple is alwasy asking for ie, but in practice is a lot more of work .
so should i pay an extra for internet explorer, just give it in the package, not doiung it or what.
i would like no know how other designers are managing this.
    greetings

This should not be the case if you're designing standards compliant sites with clean, valid code.
IE8 and IE9 should be OK.
It's a matter of deciding at which version you stop supporting Internet Explorer.
Most designers (inc me) have stopped supporting IE6 and earlier.
IE7 support varies by designer and target audience.

Generally this is because the website wants to install an ActivX control. This will only work on the Windows version of Internet Explorer.
If all you need to run is a single Windows application now and again then I would recommend Crossover from Codeweavers, which allows you to run Windows applications on OS X without needing Windows itself.

  • Step by step guide says I have Internet Explorer 7...

I decided to get prepared for the forthcoming change from BT Yahoo Mail to BT Mail.  From what I read in this forum  it could turn out to be a traumatic experience.
As a result of reading one of the posts I decided to change My BT id and My BT password to those I use for BT Mail. I hope that avoids one of the problems.
A problem that has arisen as a result of going through the step by step guide is the statement 'We've noticed that you are using Internet Explorer 7 to view this page. BT Mail does not support Internet Explorer 7.'.
I have Internet Explorer 9. I can see this has being one of those frustrating situations where I will not be able to progress because of some software glitch.
Has anybody else had this problem and is there a way around it? I don't want this to prevent me from accessing my mail.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'd just add - recent versions of Internet Explorer have a "compatibility mode" to allow new versions of IE to work properly with old web sites that were designed to work with the quirky non-standard behaviour of old versions of IE.
However, if you accidentally leave that turned on, then some new web sites may detect that your browser is acting like an old version of IE, and display warning messages to say that your browser is obsolete.
The control for this feature is a little icon that looks like a sheet of paper torn in half.

  • QM 8.0 & Internet Explorer 10

Can anyone tell me if QM 8.0.2.12 supports internet explorer 10?
    Many thanks

you should use Chrome instead of IE10 anyways, as Google can roll out a security update as soon as they see fit, rather than on Patch Tuesday, or whenever Microsoft does it. they also package Flash with it, so you don't even need to install it (the fewer apps that access Flash the better, as it's a security risk in and of itself). and they'll block Java (allowing you to run it at your request) if you're running an old, vulnerable version.
not to mention Chrome is faster than IE10.

  • Working with internet explorer

I know mac no longer supports internet explorer. I need to access applications from my place of employment at home that apparently only work with internet explorer.
I can partially access the website using firefox, safari, netscape, and the latest internet explorer for macs (5.2), but can't do anything with it. The IT guy at my place of employment tried to help me configure the internet explorer, but says it's old & he couldn't do it. Am I out of luck?

Just a question: is your work computer a PC? If it is, I recommend biting the bullet and signing up for "Go to My PC" if you haven't already. I assume if you're a Mac user you probably have broadband internet at home and at work. If you use GTMPC you can operate your PC right from your home Mac, and process your stuff from home, save it on your work PC, and you're good to go! It's only $19.95 a month for unlimited usage; $14.95 a month if you sign up and pay for a whole year. It works great - it basically uses your browser at home to extend your home keyboard to your work PC. Your work PC does all the work, not your Mac - but you get to watch. It's as much fun as PC computing can be!
