BI 7 analyzer excel 2002 SP3

Hello SDN Gurus,
recently we've upgraded BW 3.5 to BI 7. After upgrade am unable to access BI 7 analyzer.
My desktop machine configuration is
OS - Windows XP
SAP GUI - 720 patch - 6
excel - 2002 SP3
I searched through sdn and got to know about few notes for above combination where I got to know about .NET framework version and few other things which I did and restarted machine but still my BI 7 Analyzer shows offnen as a message and I can't access anything of that toolbar.

Issue got resolved as 1 Registry entry for key of SAP GUI 710 wasn't updated after installation of SAP GUI 720.
check out entry in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\.

Excel 2002 displays blank sheet when open a report in R/3

Hi,
I am having a problem in the SAP R/3 and office 2002 integration . When i open a report in R/3 and try to display the report using excel view ( Environment -> Options -> select Microsoft Excel for Office integration.). I get a blank excel sheet. I've run the provided sap/ office integration tool test and there was no error , and set the macro security in excel but nothing seem to be working.
I am runing SAP R/3 4.6C, SAP GUI 640 patch 23, and excel 2002 SP3
any input on this iuuse .

What you could try is downloading the report to the client pc using WEBUTIL_FILETRANSFER.URL_TO_CLIENT, then open the locally save file using something like:
CLIENT_HOST('cmd /c rundll32.exe url.dll,FileProtocolHandler "localfilename"');

Excel 2002 with BEx Analyzer NW2004s

can I use Excel 2002 with BEx Analyzer NW2004s? I read somewhere, it is possible only with Office 2003. It's true?

You always find the up-to-date FAQs on SAP Service Marketplace /bifaq. There you see the correct answer:

BEx in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) supports MS Office 2003 and Office XP, SP2 (this includes Excel 2002) based on GUI 6.40
BEx in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) supports MS Office 2003 based on GUI 7.10
For information on planned support for Windows Vista and Office 2007 (based on GUI 7.10) please check the Functional Enhancements Schedule BI in NW7.0 (2004s).

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Error when opening XLSX file with Excel 2003 SP3, file does open but in read only mode with temporary name

I am using Excel 2003 SP3 and have the Office 2007 compatibility pack installed. When I open Office 2007 formatted Excel files (XSLX) directly in Windows Explorer, I receive the following error if I do not have Excel already opened:
"Windows cannot find '<path to file>'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."
Even though I receive the error, the file does open; however, it opens in Read Only mode with a name such as "Xl0000024.xls". The number seems to increment up each time it happens.
Now here is the strange part. If I have Excel already open and try to open the file in Windows Explorer, the file opens fine in Modify mode with no error and with the correct file name.
I Googled the error I was getting and found KB211494. It says I should uncheck the box in Options on the General tab that says "Ignore other applications", but this box is already unchecked in my case. Any other ideas? This is
really frustrating as a small percentage of our company has upgraded to Office 2007 with the rest still on Office 2003.

This may be a file association problem. To solve that:
In Windows 7:
1. Right-click the file,
2. Select "Open With"
select [Your Program Here]
3. Check always use this program.
In Windows XP:
1. Locate the file as you have described above
2. Right click the file
3. Select Open with from the pop-up menu
4. Click Choose default program…
5. Select Excel in the Recommended Programs box
6. Check Always use the selected program to open this kind of file
7. Click on OK.
1. Make Excel not available from Office 2007 listed under Programs and Features in Control Panel.
2. Take a registry backup using the steps given here
3. In the registry editor window expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and navigate to .xls right and delete it.
4. Exit Registry Editor
5. Undo Step 1 to make Excel available.
6. Restart the computer and verify it the issue is fixed.

Text characters displayed as # on Bex analyzer (excel)

Hi all,
I am having issues with Turkish Charaters displayed on the report output on Bex analyser.
The Turkish text characters in the fields like Name 1, Name 2, city are displayed in # format.
This is happening only when the report is executed on Bex analyzer (excel). In BW system I can see the turkish characters properly. There is no # symbol anywhere when i check in cube or master data.
The # sign is not shown when the query is executed on internet explorer(web report). This issue is only with Bex analyzer(excel).
Some sample data is as below.
Correct data in BW cube or master data: ÜCRETLI ÜRETICISI TÜ
The same is displayed when executed the report over web.
But when executed on BEX analyzer(Excel) it shows as: #CRETLI #RETICISI T#
This was not happening last month. I was able to see the turkish characters last month properly on BEX analyzer.
Now we are having this # issue.
Can anyone suggest what could be the problem with? and how we can rectify this?

I also think it is a front-end issue.
The texts look fine in RSA1 and in Web Analyzer.
The problem with the codepage variable is that as far as i know it can have only one value.
On my report I have a list of purchase orders with the vendors.
The vendors come form different countries and are maintained by the country's affiliate in their native language.
The user needs to see the texts for all displayed vendors regardless the language and alphabet.
Right now I have probelms with Greek, Bulgarian and Serbian.
But next month the report may contain the vendors from other countries.
Therefore I would have to add all languages to codepage variable.
In fact in my system it doesn't even work for one value.
I also added other languages to windows regional settings but it didn't help.
Do you have any tips on that?

Error when opening BIP 10.1.3.3 Excel output in Excel 2002

We have BIP 10.1.3.3 and Excel 2002 in use. When generating Excel output with BIP, we always get an error in Excel that the generated file can't be opened. Access is denied because of some error with resource 'http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd'. (Unfortunately, I only get a German error message).
Does anyone has an idea, how to change settings in BIP or Excel to work around this error?

It seems, that Excel 2002 can't do anything with this DOCTYPE. But what would be a workaround?

NOTE: you need to add “System.Configuration” assembly reference in your project. Change ‘HDR’ as per your requirement.
If the above solution meet your requirement then you could actually make it more generic by passing dynamic excel file name in your connection string.

POI HSSF Excel 2002 Data error

Hello,
I'm using HSSF 3.0.2 Final version to create an excel document from java.
This document contains pictures and some text under each picture in a row below. There are four sheets in the workbook and each contains about 30-40 pictures.
I can create document fine and I can open it with Excel 2000,
but when I try to open it with Excel 2002 and gives me data error.
My understanding is that 2002 is supported and it seems to be a simple enough document without any fancy features
Any idea what could be wrong?

I'm not able to downloand itunes on my computer. It's an older Gateway that has Windows XP 2002 SP3. I've tried deleting the temp files and restarting but that doesn't work. I've tried in IE8 and Firefox and still doesn't work. I click on download itunes, the pop up box to run the download never comes up and it goes straight to the page stating thank you for downloading itunes. I have turned off pop up blockers also. Please help!

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

for e.g.
after discussing iwth ur senior member u will decide to publish a new folder in ur production system...
let say name of folder is BW Financial Accounting
Now u will publish ur report in this folder.
go to query designer
hit Query in menu
hit publish and select the BW FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
now u interact with Security administrator at ur firm
he will create proper Authorization object for this Folder BW FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
once he/she does that then he will add this authorization object to ur user id
this way u can test that
u can acess that folder and query link in that folder.....
similarly they will add the newly created authorization objects to ur specific user ids and they will then have acess to this .....
if u want to check authorization objects currently assigned to ur user id
enter t code /su01
enter ur user id
and u can see several authorization objects

Query analyzer - Excel 2007

Hi,
I executed a query from analyzer whose no.of records are expected to be more than 1 lakh. For this reason i have installed " Excel 2007 " whose capability of records 1,048,576.
But when i execute the query, i get an error pop up saying that
"The no.of records are more than 65536 "
Can anyone please provide related information?

Hello,
If you have BW 3.X that is useless, you can only obtain results with more than 65536 lines if you execute queries with both BI7 and Excel 2007.

SAPGUI 7.10 installation, error in BEx Analyzer - Excel interface

Hi!
I have installated SAPGUI 710, and when I want to execute a new report in BexAnalyzer I get this error
"BexAddin
Workbook format .xlsm is supported only from offices Excel 2007version"
The mail issue, is that I have maden all updgrades and package from microsoft from 2003 for using 2007 workbook... i dont know what I can do...
And my coworker, has the similar error, however, she is using offices 2007, and her error is RFC_ERROR_Program, when she wants to execute report... her SO is Vista, in my case is XP.
Somebody, can help us! please!!!!!!!!

Are U opening the workbook in 3.5 Analyser?
If so then unfortunately Business explorer Analyzer 3.x is not supporting the
new file-format. Please refer to note 1052761.
If you would like to use
new office 2007 file format you need to use Bex Analyzer 7.0.
When using the SAP Default Workbook please set the flag "Use XLS file format" as defined in note
1267924.
The new Excel 2007 file formats require the implementation of
the latest BW Support Package.
If you are interested in workbooks in xlsm format you have to
use at least SP16 and a recent FEP (e.g. FEP801). But it is
not correct that it will work also when you implement the notes on a SP
level which is older then SP15, as then other corrections are missing.
Please check also note 1055581 ... where you find the info that
we recommend to use at least SPS15 (which is BW-SP17).
