BI Administration Cockpit - Empty templates in portal

Hi,
Has anyone experienced the following problem:
- The BI Admin. Cockpit has been installed according to instructions without errors
- The technical content as well as the process chains are working and data is being collected from the objects pointed in RSDDSTAT
- The Business Pacakge "BI Administration 1.0" has been installed.
- Both roles (BI Admin. & System Admin.) have been assigned in portal and BI Admin -role has been assigned to user in SSM.
- The BI Admin. tab page is visible in portal and all of the IViews and pages are available in the portal content.
- If the queries or the templates are executed from BEx or WAD they are populated with data and everything is working as it should be.
- Even when executing the IViews or pages (f.ex. No. of BI Application Executions per User) in PREVIEW -mode from Portal Content Studio the reports are shown correctly.
HOWEVER: If one navigates to BI-Admin tab --> BI Usage Statistics --> BI Application Usage Statistics -report, both of the expected reports are just missing. The only things that are shown  are the templates (tab strip and buttons) but the queries are missing.
There are no error messages etc. Please advice how to proceed with further investigations?

Hi All,
We are planning to install BI Admin Cockpit in our BI system as well. We found a lot of PDF documents on SDN, but they are more on the general terms. Can anyone share their real time experiences, plan and the exact startegy step by step to be followed to install Admin cockpit and how to use it?
The Technical content is already installed on our system and the Process chains are also scheduled for the same for more than a year now. What we are missing is the exact real time plan with the steps to be done to have this?
It would be of great help if we have this.

  • BI Administration Cockpit - Context menu in portal

    Hi,
I have turned on the technical content, I can see all the necessary process chains etc and have set the necessary cubes for collecting in RSDDSTAT.
When I execute the process chains for data loading, I get errors because of invalid characters in the data which I'm dealing with. But I thought that once you can see the admin cockpit in the portal that you could right click on stats to further drill down to see more information. When I right click on cube name for example, I can see it is a hyperlink and should give me context menu but it doesn't.
    Any ideas?
    Regards
    Sue

    Hi,
I have the same problem. Can anybody help please?
The context menu is working fine via executing in the Query Designer. Via the Web Application Designer (3x) it doesn't work. Same for the portal.
Should the context menu work anyway in the BI Cockpit?

  • BI Administration Cockpit loading Template Error

    Hi
I get an error loading a template such as 0TPL_PORTAL_EVENT_LISTENER (Notification Number BRAIN 276). It is needed for displaying Long-Term Trends in Total Runtimes of BI Application Objects.
How to make sure the template mentioned in the error message is installed in
    business content?
I used nwa for deploying template, so I supposed that's it was included.
    Thanks for Help.

    Thanks for your reply.
It seems I am missing some BI Content because the template is not in there.
I am at the current SAP patch levels
    SAP_BW release 7 level 11
    BI_CONT release 703 level 4
Everything I have read say that I should be fine at this point but the only  thing I can think of is taking it to level 13 for SAP_BW.
    Any other suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks

If you are not able to see only BI admin cockpit. you need to do this.
In Portal, assigned role tab, BI adminstratro role should be included.
If you are not able to do anything in portal, Basis config for portal is not yet done

I have installed the BI Administrator on my Portal and configured the settings for SAP BW system.

  • Edit / copy a template in Connector Administration Cockpit

    Hello out there.
We´ve got a pretty new ESH 7.2 installation. We´re just beginning to fool around with it, and I´m wondering about some configurations..
What I want to do is change the "title"(headline?) of a file-search-result - right now, by default, it seems to be some meta title of the file. I´d like to see the actual file name.
Now, I assume I have to adjust that thing via "template modeler" which leads me to the "Connector Administration Cockpit". There, it seems I´m not allowed to edit the existing FIle-Search template - which is not a bad thing, let´s keep the defaults.
So I figured they want me to create a copy and then customize that one.
And there´s my actual problem: When I want to copy it, and try to name my copy "FILE2", I get an error Object type FILE2 has to start with Y, Z in customer systems. When I try to name it "Z_FILE", it says Objects starting with Y or Z cannot be created in SAP software component. Seems to be a dead-end..
-> Am I doing something wrong? Is this the right place to do the changes I´m looking for at all? Did anyone stumble upon the same problem?
    looking forward to anything helpful,
    regards,
    Bastian

    Hello Mr. Hohage,
(please feel free to call me Bastian)
We´ll definitely wait for the SP then, we´re still experimenting with the dev system anyway.
As I said, my intention was to try to use the filename as "title" of the search result, this was the default in 7.0 I think.
thanks for the Info, best regards from Oberderdingen,
    Bastian

  • BI Administration cockpit, error 404 Not Found

    Hi all,
I just installed the BI administration cockpit. I loaded the TCT cubes and installed the BSP in the portal.
When I execute the templates that the iviews of the BI cockpit use it works fine. However when I execute the cockpit in the portal (executing the iviews) it gives the following error:
404 Not Found. The requested resource does not exist.
Details:   Go to main page of this application!
The 7.0 templates/iviews that I created myself are working fine in the portal. Is it possible that this has something to do with the fact that the BI Cockpit is based on 3.x templates? Are there additional settings that I have to do in the portal? I have the same problem with the broadcaster which is also partially based on 3.x templates.
    Thanks for your help,
    Guus

  • Error in BI Administration Cockpit for "Query Runtime Statistics"

    Dear all,
after implementing the BI Administration Cockpit in BW and the EP I noticed, that whenever I try to modify my object selections under the node "Query Runtime Statistics", I get an error saying
"The Entered Value Is Not in the List of Valid Values"
This occurs under the following nodes:
BI Application Statistics -> BI Application Selection -> Web Templates / Workbooks
BI Application Object Statistics -> BI Application Object Selection -> Queries / Query Views / Planning Functions ....
InfoProvider Statistics -> InfoProvider Type Selection
Any ideas how to fix this issue???
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Andreas,
Thank you for your response. I applied the note 1463442 to our Development system. It fixed the error, that is , now I don't get "entered value is not in list of valid value". But when I unselect objects and click on "SUBMIT" button, nothing happens. It should redraw the report based on the selection.
Is this working for you ? If so, please advise us.
    Thanks again,
    Ravi

  • BI Administration cockpit (BI Administration 1.0 Business Package)

    Hi All,
We are implementing the "new" statistics in 2004s.  One process involved states for installing the BI Administration Cockpit (in the portal).  In order to do this you must install the BI Administration Business Package 1.0.  I believe you have to install this Business Package no matter what, but in the release note (hyperlink next to the BI Admin cockpit in SPRO) it states the following in our Development system.
Download the business package BI Administration 1.0 from the SAP Developer Network (SDN) at http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/contentportfolio and import it into your SAP NetWeaver 2004s Portal Support Package Stack 5. Assign the following roles to the BIadministrators:
In our Production System it doesn't state anything about Support Package Stack 5 at all.  Both systems are at the same SP level.
My ultimate question is:  Does BI Admin Business Package 1.0 have to be installed?
    Thanks

    Hello Mark,
You only need to install the package if you want to make use of the standard BI Admin Cockpit functionality in the portal to display the statistics data.
The BI statistics infoproviders are still available (after installation/activation) for reporting.
See also notes 934848 and 965386.

  • BI Administration Cockpit - Implement

    Hi All,
Our system is BI 7.0. Recently we did the technical upgrade. BI Statistics related chains are running on our machine daily. Now we are thinking on the lines of implementing "BI Administration cockpit" on our BI system. I have a few questions:
What is the concept and use of it?
    What are the prerequisites?
What are the steps required to implement the same?
Efforts required to install "BI Administration cockpit"?
    Best practices for the same.
Appreciate if I get the above details to kick start the analysis?
    Regards,
    Suman Pitta

    Hi Suman ,
    1. Admincockpit will help you in analysing the statistics of BI objects .
Ex - In your BI system , the users execute queries , workbooks , webtemplates , infopackages , process chains , dtps and other BI objects  and you want to judge their statistics (which query was execute the most in your system ,who are the users who executed them , which query is taking the highest time to execute and so on ) .
The BI Admin cockpit will  give you the statistics of all BI objects that are being executed in your system .
    Advantages :
1.You can check which query had the highest execution time and you can improve its performance .
    2. Who are the users who executed the queries and who are the users who account for the most  query execution time .
    3. RRIs are build upon the admincockpit queries which gives you the advantage of drilling down to underneath objects . So suppose you selected a query with the highest runtime , from the query itself you can go to the infoprovider upon which the query is build .
    4. You just login to your portal and navigate to
System Administration-> Monitoring -> Business Intelligence
And you can view all your BI Statistics over there for the selected system  . Just select your BI system in the BI System selection window and all the statistics for that system are being  displayed . So without logging in to your BI system you are able to view the statistics of all systems from one single place .
    Disadvantages :
    1. The only thing i guess is  they will take up some space in your database as statistics records are generated every time you execute any Object . So you need to cleanup the underlying tables at particular time-periods .  BI Admincockpit also provided settings/options for data deletion from underlying tables .
Hope this information would give you an overview of the Admincockpit.
    Regards,
    Lokesh

I am trying to install BI_Administration cockpit as given in the oss note  934848 . I am getting lot's of ABAP dumps when I am doing the first step using SPRO. I made sure I have all the authorizations and also confirmed with my basis about the service packs. Cauld someone please explain this.
If the above approach does not work can I go ahead and activate only the cubes that I need. If so, could some one send me the step by step process( with Imp IC's and their respective datasources).

  • How to show a WAD template in Portal

    Hi ALL
How can i show a WAD report (WAD template) in Portal. what are the steps need to followed.
Like for Bex Application Iview we create it by using a Query String(combination of infocube name and Query name), like wise what should be done from Portal end to get a WAD template in to portal as Iview.
    Regards
    Vijay kumar

    Hi,
Regarding your issue your template is not active.
In the first place you need to check if the template is activated in the backend BW system.
After activated and launch it from the backend system. Once the BW template is
active, kindly launch the template from the backend system, please try
to launch the template in browser version as we can determine the URL
being launched. If you're able to succesfully launch the template from
the backend and still you're encountering an error while testing it from
the iview. Then it should be a problem with the system object configured
for the iview. There is a need to check if the system alias SAP_BW is
properly configured to the destination BI content system.
    Please refer the note:
1048857 - Activating the default Web templates
In RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN_70 you can choose the version of the
template to be displayed ("A" per default).
Please compare and attach the A- and D-version of 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN.
If the activation from business content was successful, the versions
are equal. I assume, that they are not equal.
If they are different it means that the activation was not successful.
Another indicator would be, that the activation only takes one or two
seconds. Normally it takes several seconds (up to a few minutes).
As mentioned in note 1048857 it might happen that the checkboxes, to
mark the objects for activation, are not checked and therefore nothing
is activated. For this case note 1070452 is mentioned, which is
available  in english since today: If the checkboxes are not checked
and you are unable to do that manually, please use the context menu
on the object on top to select all objects below. The activate the
objects again (  > how long does it take, A- and D- version are the
      same afterwards ?)
    It should resolved your issue.
    Thanks,
    Venkat

  • BI Administration Cockpit Question

Hi, Does anyone have any exposure to this yet?  I have a few questions that I need answers to and I'm hoping the BI Administration Cockpit might be the answer instead of building from scratch.
    1. Reports statistics of each process chain and related process chain process
       - I need to know that my ODS activation started @ 10am actived 10,000 records and ended at 10:01 am. (how long it took).
       - I need to know that my data load loaded 1,000 records and how long it took.
       - I need to know that my rollup compressed x number of records and took how long..  Etc, Etc, Etc.
    2. Need to compare the above statistics from a day to day perspective so that I can set up exceptions to be reported on.
If the BI Administration Cockpit can't provide me with this I'll have to write some abap process to go out and collect all of this and I'm sure that'll be quite a task.
Anyone have any suggestions how to collect this information so I can report on it?
    Thanks,
    Ken Murray

    Hello Kenneth,
BI admin cockpit has some trending reports.  You might need to tweak the iViews / queries a bit but the real time stuff is quite neat.
If you ever end up writing the ABAP to do what you want, take a look in this month's issue of BWExpert first.
    Hope this helps,
    D.
