  • How do I change the Version Code in the Flash Android settings Android app market?

    I recently tried to update my app in the Android app market and when I uploaded it I got the following message:
    "The new apk's versionCode (1000000) already exists."
    In the Flash Adnroid settings I changed the version label but that did not help.
    So I have two questions:
    How do I change the Version code in the Flash Android settings? I changed the version number and version label but that did not work.
    What is the difference between the version number and version label?

    I tried that but it did not work. Apparently there is a difference between the version code and version number (which is set in the Android settings). From my research the version label is optional, so there are no problems there.
    This is the what the XML file says:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.6">
      <id>com.company.nameofapp</id>
    //Below is the correct version number, but has no relation to the version code.
      <versionNumber>1.1.0</versionNumber>
      <versionLabel>NewLayout</versionLabel>
      <filename>Name of app</filename>
      <description/>
    I did find this piece of information for Androin version codes. (http://developer.android.com/guide/publishing/versioning.html)  But I don't know how to place it into the xml file without conflicting with other code.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
          package="com.example.package.name"
          android:versionCode="2"
          android:versionName="1.1">
        <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name">
        </application>
    </manifest>
    Any other thoughts are much appreciated.

  • Apple photo app marketing.... Worst ever!

    I can understand Apples move to shut down Aperture and move on to the new Photo App.  I can also understand their implementation of an announcement by letting a few key Photo sites know about the change. Finally, I can also understand Apples need to keep new product specifications secret until its nearly time to release.
    But what I cannot understand is the lack of information for us thousands of loyal Aperture users.  They would not have to say much.  They could say something like... " to our loyal Aperture useres... Photo App will not only migrate all of your current libraries, add iCloud connectiviity, but all the capabilities you had and more will be available in Photo App".  That sort of statement would leave me happy and looking forward to the new release.  And no critical competiton sensitive info is released.
    The problem is that they did not say anything like this.  So either the Photo App will NOT have most or all of Aperture features OR the Apple/Photo App marketing team are idiots.  Because I am left with the feeling that they are dumping us loyal users.  It makes me want to dump Apple for my photo processing and DAM.... Just to get even.
    The last 15 years of my career was marketing and business development albeit a different business area.  But we  also discontinued old but good products that had good customer bases.  But for the most part we NEVER told a loyal customer that we are dumping thier Beloved product and replacing it with a new one with secret capability with no assurance that their same needs will be met.  We would at least say stuff like.... This new product will blow your socks off or  meet all of your requirements and More!
    I think it is nearly unforgivable to leave us loyal Aperture users on the lurch on this.... depending out our loyalty to Apple to keep us a customer.
    Maybe the answer is that this situation has been pulled from the hands of the Apple Aperture team and given over to the Yosemite team.   Where photo processing and DAM are oriented to the Masses who want to do simple iphone like processing like make this photo look like a scratchy polaroid.......

    The thing that annoys me about the "wait and see" argument here is this:  Now that there is a question of whether or not my Aperture library will transition to a Photos application that serves my needs, the last thing I want is to put another 6 months of work into Aperture only to find out then that I need to laboriously move that 6 months of work -- in addition to the years before it -- into another tool.  If I need to transition eventually, I very much want to do it right now to minimize the disruption.
    It would be polite for Apple to provide a rundown of what functionality will and won't be available in Photos at release.  If it's enough of Aperture's functionality (or hoefully better in some ways!) for me to use it, then I will very happily keep using Aperture for a year.  However, if Photos is going to remove stuff that I need, then I desperately want to get working on moving to Capture One or Lightroom right away.  As it is, limiting the promises in the announcement to the ability to move our libraries over, with zero mention of functionality once we get there, certainly leaves the impression that we shouldn't get our hopes up.  If their goal was to truly replace Aperture with something even better, why wouldn't they say that?

  • What is wrong with the app market? Is says read and accept new terms and then try again and I so and it just askese again and won't update my apps

    I have just installed snow leopard and reset my admin name and password.
    Likely because both occurred at the same time and/or you created another Admin user/ didn't allow the new Admin to admin the machine?
    Hold c and boot off your Snow Leopard install disk and second screen in under the Utilities menu is Reset Password.
    There is also a Single User mode (caution root user!) way to reset passwords on each account.

    Before you do that, make sure at any opportunity to backup your files manually to a external drive and disconnect.

  • App Market

    After the new application market update 3.3.11  the "My Apps"  section is not working it gives me a white screen with two tabs that take me back to the App market.
    I have done two factory resets briefly I can access "My Apps" before it pushes the new market update then my apps goes back to not working again.
    I have checked my gmail account it is associated to the account.  This is a connection issue not a Hardware issue.
    I think the fault lays with the new update to the app market 3.3.11 that comes from Motorola/Verizon

    The Market is run by Google. Motorola/Verizon has nothing to do with it.
    Log into the market on your computer at the following URL
    https://market.android.com/apps
    You should see a sign in link/button at the top right of the screen. The login is the same as your gmail account and the same password. You should see all the apps that you have downloaded from the Market.

  • App market change

    I'm trying to switch my Irish app market to Russian app market but it wont recognise dublin 15 postcode???? Which postcode to use then????? I live in Ireland all my life and my postcode in Blanchardstown which is in Dublin always been Dublin 15 or D15 but apple.com says it wrong??? Then could you tell what postcode to use then!!!
    Please could you reply me on my email: [email protected]
    Thank you

    Well that seems to explain it. If you want to use a Russian Store, you can not use an Irish Billing Location. This violates the terms & conditions of the iTunes Stores.

  • Apps Market - Download Unsuccessful

    I have been unable to download any apps to my phone from the market.  I keep getting a message saying Download Unsuccessful.  I took out the battery, restarted, made sure that 3rd party apps are allowed and nothing is working.  It stopped working on Friday.  Is anyone else having this problem?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, S

    yes it did, make sure you back up your contacts to the VZW backup assistant  and google.  Most of your pictures will be on your SD card.  It's annoying i've had to do it twice already.  If it happens again I will be taking the phone to Verizon store to see what the deal is.  You will just lose any text messages you have.  Good luck

  • Using the app market comments

    after downloading using loving and hating and sometimes deleting hundreds of apps and games im curious as to how i comment on the i dont seem to see an option other than reading other peoples comments. what am i missing.

    When you look at an app you've installed, you'll see a "Rate it!" where you can select the number of stars you wish to rate the app. When you select a rating, a text block will appear where you can enter a comment.
    I might be wrong, but I don't think you can enter a comment once you've un-installed an app.

  • My ipad no longer connects to app market

    Upon every attempt I get a pop up that states "unable to connect to AppStore " or "unable to connect to iTunes"
    This is as frustrating as Windows!

    iTunes is having an issue at the moment. Just wait it out. THere's nothing you can do beyond that

  • How do I get rid of "App Market"?

    I reset Firefox in hopes of getting rid of this unwanted trash.
    I still have it.
    While this is my prime concern at this time I would like to comment that backing up my "favorite websites" should be easier!

    Extensions;
    appmarket 10.30.1.502 ({9d84f755-b891-4a4d-95c8-f6d01108a008})
    First, go to your add-ons page, and disable this.
    Press the '''<Alt Key>''' to bring up the tool bar. Then '''Tools > Add-ons.'''
    After it is disabled, restart.
    Run several or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one
    program misses something, another may pick it up.
    ======================================================
    Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
    You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
    * [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
    * [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]

    * [http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ESET Online Scanner]
    [http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
