BI Bean report shown blank
What could be the reason for BI Bean report shown blank?
1. I have checked that data is present in all the hierarchy fields in the dimension tables.
2. I have checked all the dimenion ids used in the fact are present in the dimensions.
Could you please log a TAR with Oracle Support using Metalink to resolve this issue. Our Support team can work with you to identify the exact problem.

Report is Blank after Click on Save button
Hi All,
I am having a Real Time Infocube, which is been used by Monthly and Yearly report separately using different Aggregation Levels.
During Monthly report testing, I made changes in Yearly Report (common for monthly as well) and clicked on SAVE button.
As a result, a new request generated into the Cube, whereas my old request (yellow one) was still there and was containing only 700 records.
Step1:
Now, after that when I activated aggregation level. The output of the report was blank.
Same thing happened with monthly report also.
Step2:
So, I deleted that new request from Cube after changing its behaviour from Planned mode --> Load mode.
Now, when I tried to get it back. It was asking me to green the existing request (old request).
Step3:
when the cube was containing only old yellow request (before changing the behaviour) monthly report was showing me correct data. But, Yearly report was blank.
So, I manually green the request and changed the behaviour to Planned mode.
Whereas, Now (after changing behavior to Planned mode) both reports are blank.
Please help!!
Best Regards,
JatinHi,
first you the correct settings in transaction RSDIPROP for your InfoCube:
On tab 'Roll Up' you should set the flag Set Quality Status to OK Automatically.
Second delete the cache for the planbuffer query; the name of the plan buffer queries are as follows
- if your aggregation level is defined on InfoCube CUBE the name is CUBE/!!1CUBE
- if your aggregation level is defined on MultiProvider IPROV the name is IPROV/!!1IPROV
- if you are using a query on a MultiProvider containing aggregatiion levels delete also the cache of the query.
Now check the values of your query again.
Note 1136163 contains the recommended cache settings in RSRT.

Crystal Reports 2008 - Blank page on server only
Crystal Reports 2008 - Blank page on server only
My report is developed in the Crystal Reports 2008 Report Designer 12.0.0.683.
I have a .NET application that takes the report file, an ODBC connection and exports the resulting report to PDF. This application is deployed as an MSI and includes the Crystal Reports .msm merge module. The report uses multiple views and tables from a single database to create invoices in PDF format.
Problem: For one particular invoice, a blank page is being added to the end of the invoice. This blank page contains the report's standard page header. There is no missing data and no missing sections on the invoice. This is only occurring when the pdf is generated on a Windows Server 2008 x64 server where the application is deployed using the merge modules.
I have installed the application locally on my Windows Vista Business x86 system and the generated PDF does NOT contain the blank page at the end.
The blank page is not generated when previewing the report in Report Designer. For the particular invoice this is occurring on, footer F and footer G are blank and therefore suppressed.
Please bear in mind that this happens only for one particular invoice that uses this report file and does not happen from my local system using the same .rpt file.
The report is constructed of the following sections:
-Page Header (suppressed on page 1)
-Grp1 header A (watermark conditionally suppressed based upon a parameter)
-Grp1 header B (Keep together - always fits onto a single page)
-Details
-Grp1 footer A (Keep together)
-Grp1 footer B (Conditionally suppressed based upon data)
-Grp1 footer C (Keep together)
-Grp1 footer D (Contains sub report(suppressed when blank). Keep together. Suppress blank section. New page before but (Not OnLastRecord))
-Grp1 footer E (Contains sub report(suppressed when blank). Keep together. Suppress blank section.)
-Grp1 footer F (Contains sub report(suppressed when blank). Keep together. Suppress blank section.)
-Grp1 footer G (Contains sub report(suppressed when blank). Keep together. Suppress blank section.)
-Report footer (Always blank. Suppress blank section)
-Page footer (Fixed static content, displayed on every page.)

Is the same runtime installed on the 64 bit system? I notice from your version number that you do not have any service packs installed on the dev system. SP 2 is out and may help.
I have installed SP1 and SP2 this morning, resaved the report file and tried again but the same problem remains.
I'm not sure how to answer your runtime question. I am using the same application built with the same merge modules on both the dev machine and the production server. Of course, the dev machine has the additional complication of having Crystal Reports 2008 installed. Perhaps this is causing the difference?
Compare the printer settings between the two systems. Try installing the same printer driver on the 64 bit system.
Perhaps I am misinterpreting your suggestion, but I am not printing the invoices. I am only exporting them to PDF. It is the PDF that has the extra page. Is there a 'print to PDF' driver of some sort that I need?
Also, was the .NET application compiled as 32 bit, or Any CPU? Whichever it was, try switching it then recompiling to see if that helps.
I tried switching to Any CPU but this caused the Crystal Reports module not to load at all on the 64bit Windows server.
Thank you for your suggestions, but my problem remains. Is it worth trying with the redistributable msi rather than using the merge modules? If so, could you recommend which one I should use? I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional. -
Is there a way of restricting access to columns in a BI BEANS report?
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to retrict access to a column in a BI BEANS crosstab report. The scenario is, if a particular user has the priviledges to see the profit column in a crosstab, but another user doesn't is there any way to stop the less restricted user from seeing this column using the same BI BEANS report?
This is really the alternative to having 2 reports, 1 with the profit column and 1 without, and depending on what user is logged in, it will show one or the other.
Regards,
Scott.Hi Scott,
This is an interesting question.
If I presume you are talking about an OLAP data source where data does not reside in an Analytic Workspace, then the following is true :-
The BI Beans respects database security and therefore the user has access to a particular schema(s) and table(s) in the database.
When talking about cubes, you must remember a cube is mapped to a particular Fact table and dimensions.
Because a Measure is a constituent sub-component of a cube, unless the measures are sourced from different fact tables with different user privileges, then it would be difficult to discriminate against users and hide columns or measures.
Basically, what I am saying is:
A cube is the finest granularity at which users can be differentiated.
A cube maps to a fact table, hence this is the level at which the DB grants are applied.
Unless measures belonged to different cubes, and hence different fact tables, then it would be impossible to discriminate against users and access to different columns/measures.
What you could do however, at the BI Beans application level is :-
Before displaying a presentation object, you could filter the Query programmatically and remove components which you did not want to display i.e. measures etc.
This would require more leg work with the presentation object and filtering the embedded query, but would achieve the same effect. You would have to work out a method of validating users too and what they had access to.
I hope this answers your Question.
Should you require more information, please let us know.
Many Thanks
BI Beans

Deski reports appear blank.
Hi I can find data in BO XI 3.1 universe(connected to Sql Server 2008) but my Deski reports appear blank, any reason?
Hi,
If you are not getting any error message in reports it mean no issue in the connectivity. ODBC DSN i think so you have already setup.
Have you tried with some sample report along with one or two objects only. see if you are getting the data or not.
Copy the report SQL and see if you are getting the data in SQL client.

Some Monitoring Reports Are Blank
Hello,
We have deployed monitoring reports for Lync 2013 on SQL 2012 mirrored back end database servers. When I try to open any reports under System Usage Reports, the report is blank. For example, if I try to open report called "User Registration
Report", it is blank. However, if I open any reports under "Media Quality Diagnostic Reports" like "Server Performance Report", it works fine. So, just wondering why I don't see any data for reports like "User Registration
Report". The SQL account I'm using has full sysadmin role on the SQL server. Thanks.Hi,
Please check if FE server have MSMQ with Directory Services integration installed to complete the message chain between FE and Monitoring server.
Here is a similar case may help you:

EWA report getting blank report
Hi,
I have configured system in SOLMAN to gnerate EWA report, all the steps have been done succesfully.
but the report is blank when in checked, what could be the reason.
searched in SDN and check all the possiblities.
Please help.Hello Saad,
Depends if it is really a blank EWA or just not generated due to missing trust center settings in word - for that you could check SAP Note 199123.
If ti is ABAP and the icon is a document ( not red, yellow, green, grey rated) then please review sap Notes 1496931 and 1415702, depending on what SP level you are on. If it is a Java system and is Grey rated it will also be blank, then you need to check SAP Note 1332428 for the T/S guide attached andcheck Note 762696.
These are the most common reasons an EWA might be blank.
Also check the session in DSA and see if anything more comes to light.
However if this doesn't help resolve, please provide as many details as you can.

here intresting is that i also can't have the memory section view also.i trien to clear awr repositary and recreate it..bounce database, also tried taking different snap value. But does notmake any change.can u tell me why tha happening..and how can i get a good awr report.Hi there,
I have covered this in my blog entry on the subject. Check that link out for more licensing information and other resources.
The problem you are experiencing is caused by the fact that AWR is part of the DIAGNOSTIC and TUNING packs of Oracle 11g, which as of 11g is no longer a standard feature of the database but rather an optional extra which must be licensed in addition to your default Oracle Standard Edition package. In terms of the licensing, you just need to license it as an optional extra so that you will actually be using it legally, and then you can go ahead and enable it.
While it may be an additional licensed item, it is actually installed on your DB by default, but is just not enabled. So, once you have cleared the licensing issue, you will be free to enable diagnostics by setting the new database parameter, CONTROL_MANAGEMENT_PACK_ACCESS. You can do this by running the following as a dba:
<pre>alter system set control_management_pack_access="DIAGNOSTIC+TUNING" scope=both;</pre>
After running this command, your database will start accumulating diagnostic information. Note that you will need to wait until new snapshots are created in which the new diagnostic information will be available. I found that although most of the information became available after setting CONTROL_MANAGEMENT_PACK_ACCESS, it was only once the database was restarted that all of the information became available. I have seen many people reporting similar behavior.
Old snapshots will obviously continue to give the errors because they did not have the diagnostic information available at the time. -
Html report shows blank page if pdf report is also
HI
I am facing strange problem
1. Generate any html report with multiple pages.
2. The first page of the report will be shown.
3. Now generate the same report in pdf.
4. Go to the first report again (html report) and try to go to the next page
(second page)by clicking on the forward arrow > at the bottom of the report.
I am invoking java to invoke reportsHi Karen,
I would like to provide the document "Report Design: Best Practices and Guidelines " to you and hope it can provide some help.
Avoiding Blank Pages
Sometimes, you will see blank pages when you output reports to a physical page format such as PDF or print. Generally, this will happen when the size of the report body exceeds
the size of the page. To ensure that all the contents fit on a single page, the body width plus the margins should be less than the defined page width. A textbox or other report item can cause the width of the body to exceed the page width, even when the portion
of the item that exceeds the width has no visible contents. In addition, report items growing horizontally (matrix data regions and images set to automatically Autosize or Fit) can also cause the body to grow.

Best Regrads,
Halin Huang -
I am running oracle reports on my windows 2000 computer. When I send the reports to my screen, I can see everything fine. When I tell the program to print the report, either directly or after having previewed it, the report prints nothing but blank pages ( the correct number of blank pages also). When I tell it to turn into pdf, I likewise get nothing but blank pages. Any ideas?
Dear All,
I am facing the same problem of printing.
If I send to screen it is shown properly. But if I direct the print to a printer, it does not print anything but skips the same number of pages as I have sent to print. Please if any one knows please reply to this as soon as possible as it is a bit urgent.
Thanks in advance,
waiting for your replies
