Bi Connector Variable

Hello,
i have NW04 and i am trying to use the bi connector.
i sucessfullt instaled and was able to view a bex query.
now i am trying to use variables for this bex query. i can find the variable in the query throught the SAPVariable finder. but after i find him i am trying to use the commandprocessor in order to clear the variable value but i get a message that the variable is not in the query.
did someone encoutered this problem and can help me.
Thanks

I still have not figured this out, as a workaround I've copied the second report and now have 2 connectors for the second report, one with input variable on Sub Assembly and the other with no input variables. This will now bring data into Xcelsius and based on formulas I push the values of either connectors to my chart.
This will work until I find another solution but it adds an additional variable on the screen which I want to avoid.
Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks,

  • BRF+ For User Defaults

    Hi everyone,
I followed the guide on setting up user defaults but I'm having some trouble with it. Basically, I followed this guide.
    User Defaults - GRC 10.0
Now in that guide, it shows that a loop must be created as well as a ruleset, but it doesn't show what should go into the ruleset.
When I create the loop,  here's what happens.
Do you have more information on getting this application for user defaults setup?
    Thanks,
    Santosh

    Hi Madhu,
Thanks for that input.  I went through it all once again and I got it to work but I have an issue.
Basically, in my decision table, if I remove the CONNECTOR (System), then I am able to get the application to return a value - but that's not going to work for me.
I need the decision table to return a value based on the CONNECTOR input.
However, despite my providing a valid value for CONNECTOR (System), the decision table seems to not match correctly.
    Here's a screenshot of a simulation.
Clearly, my REQTYPE is being matched towards the bottom of the screenshot.  But the CONNECTOR variables is a blank, despite my having entered a value for it.  I'm not clear whether I missed a step, but it would seem that the loop and the ruleset are working as this will return a valid match if the CONNECTOR were to have a value.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Santosh

  • Business Connector  : get querystring variables in url

    Hi;
I have a server service in Business Connector .
a client post a url like this
    http://10.10.10.10:5555/invoke/MM/mm2sms?drug_code=905913&drug_desc=aaaaa
I have to get these variables drug_code,drung_desc and assing to a recordList..
Firstly Which methods do i have to use and how?
    stringToDocument , documentToRecord?
    Thanks.

Just declare these parameter names as input variables of type String in the Business Connector service. Then you will have them in your pipeline automatically.

  • Custom Connector Run Time Variable Error.

    Hello community,
I developed a custom connector to provision users to a target resource. Now here is my problem, after we create the sandbox, create an application instance, activate and publish the sandbox, and attempt the provisioning (probably missed to type a step but you know the drill) I get the error below. NOW, this part is the part that says something about the exception. The funny thing is that I can execute ALL methods from the IDE successfully, which is the same code deployed to OIM JavaTasks... any thoughts?

  • Unexpected database connector using CRE2.0 and Oracle SP

I am encountering "Unexpected database connector error" while running a report that calls an Oracle 10g stored procedure.
I have a simple JSP that opens a report that calls the stored procedure.  In fact, the JSP is straight out of the samples.  It opens the report using ReportClientDocument.open, then forwards to CrystalReportViewer.jsp that calls CrystalReportViewer.processHttpRequest.  Very standard stuff.
The report is displayed just fine using JRC 11.8.  But with version 2, I get the error: com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKException: Unexpected database connector error---- Error code:-2147467259 Error code name:failed
The report runs ok in Crystal Report Designer XI (we don't have CR 2008 Designer yet).
    The SP has one cursor:

    No other parameters.

Can anybody help me with this?
    Thanks,

    Hi Dusty,
If you right-click on the step that is calling this VI and
select “Specify Module”, this will pop-up another window that allows you to
configure the VI that you are calling.  In
the connector pane window, make sure that it shows the correct inputs and
outputs.  If not, click the “Reload
Prototype” button at the bottom right.
If these are correct, then double check to verify that the
bottom pane also lists the correct inputs and outputs, and that you are specifying
the correct TestStand variables for these.
Attached is a screenshot of this configuration window.
    Thanks,

  • Problem deploying connector: META-INF/ejb-jar.xml not found in jar file

              Has anyone seen this problem:
I built Sun's Blackbox implementation and packaged
it identical to the BlackBoxNoTx.rar included with
Weblogic's 'jconnector' sample (even using the same
ra.xml and weblogic-ra.xml). When I try to deploy
              it, the server reports:
              java.io.FileNotFoundException:
META-INF/ejb-jar.xml not found in jar file
I have no idea why the server thinks my connector
is an EJB. If I deploy the BlackBoxNoTx.rar included
with the sample, everything works without a hitch.
The only variable that I'm changing in my BlackBoxNoTx.rar
is that I build the Blackbox classes myself--otherwise,
the RAR packagings are identical. Any assistance is
greatly appreciated since I'm banging my head against
              a wall...
              Thanks,
              -jason

I was finally able to resolve this one. On the odd chance that someone else encounters
the same problem, here's what went wrong:
My RAR file had two directories: 'META-INF' and 'meta-inf'. The first was created
by the jar tool and contained the manifest.mf file. The second I created manually
and it contained my ra.xml and weblogic-ra.xml. When I examined the RAR using
any tools or I extracted the contents, it looked like it only contained one directory:
              META-INF (because NT is case-insensitive).

  • How to include the mysql-connector in a simple .jar file

Well I started up with java again. Just messing around. This project I'm making now is just plain simple, I have a program thats going to read a table in a database from a server I have here at home. It works fine if I do like this: java javafil to run the file, it reads from the database fine.
But when I made a .jar file out of it using this command: jar cmf manifest.txt javafile.jar *.class
It won't connect to the database. Or it doesn't print out the rows in the table. So I thought I have to include the mysql-connector with the .jar.
    manifest.txt
    Main-Class: javafile
Now what is an easy way to do this?
This program is also going to be run from a computer that might not have the mysql-connector installed on the computer. Like a friend of mine wants to connect to the database and read it.
I've tried to google "mysql connector in a .jar file" but I get tons of informations about the mysql-connector.jar instead of what I'm looking for.
    Thanks,

Yeah but the other computer might not have that connector file on their computer. So is there like I way I can use it when it is in the .jar file? Thats kinda what I wanted. You cannot include another JAR in a JAR file. You however can extract it and put the classes in your JAR. Verify the license agreement if it is allowed. Although this is considered as a bad practice (poor upgradebility and maintainability).
If you don't want to use the -cp parameter, then use the class-path entry of the manifest.mf of your JAR. You can also write a batch file with the whole JAR -cp command in a single line and run the batch file instead.
Pluss, even though I have the right classpath in the environment variables set, it doesn't work for me either. So I guess it doesn't load the connector when running the .jar file. The classpath environment variable has nothing to do with running JAR's. Forget about it and use the -cp or -classpath parameter.

  • Remedy connector not working with OIM 9.1.0.2

    Hi,
I am using the OIM connector, BMC Remedy User Management 9.0.4.12 with OIM 9.1.0.2 BP18 on Weblogic 10.3.2
I have followed the connecter documentation at "http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11223_01/doc.904/e10422/deploy.htm#BGBIFBHG".
The connecter is installed successfully. The dependency files are placed in the directories as per section 2.3 of the above note. And the Communication between Remedy server and OIM is not SSL.
When I run the schedule task for “Remedy Lookup Reconciliation”, I get the error. I have checked that all the dependencies are in the correct location and the path variables are set properly:

As per given bug it is looking for jars which is missing
have you install connector using deployment manager?? if yes it copy required jars at target location. verify if not there copy jars in Scheduled Task folder.
Check the document if any external jars required and same put at ThirdParty folder

  • Database Connector Error in Crystal Reports

    Hi,
I have a report which has two sub reports. One of the sub reports use a view to fetch data while the other uses a SP. Now the problem that i am facing is as follows-
The sub-report using the stored procedure fails when i execute the main report but if i first execute the sub report with the SP, and then again run the main report, it works fine.
I tried an ODBC trace to find out why this was failing. When the main report is run for the first time, the sub report was not executed properly. The sub report uses a SP which expects two parameters. So at the first run, only one parameter gets passed to the sub report. however on the second run, the sub report successfully gets both the parameters.
The error that is encountered says:
Database Connector Error: 'HY000:[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle driver][Oracle]ORA-06550: line 1, column 58: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol ")" when expecting one of the following:

    <a double-quoted delimited-identifier> <a bind variable> avg
count current exists max min prior sql stddev sum variance

Could any one please help on this one? I am almost crazy trying to figure this out.
    Regards,
    Rashmi.

    Hi Penchal,
What is the backend database? Are you using ODBC or JDBC connectivity for your backend DB engine?
Make sure to have the required jars for your connection type inside your applications lib directory.
Does it happens with all the reports?
What happens if you do not change the datasource, are you able to view reports fine.
As you are using Crystal reports for ecllipse runtime libraries to build your jsp, you would need to post your dicussions in the below forum to get better response.
    http://scn.sap.com/community/crystal-reports-for-eclipse
The above space is dedicated for the issues with crystal reports for ecllipse.

  • Adding a user to group in OID based on provisioning of a generic connector

    Hi All,
I have OIM 11g installed. Also I have created a generic connector and I provision it to the users. Now based on this, I was thinking of attaching a task in the process definition of the Generic connector I had created such that when the Create User happens, then I can get the task I created triggered so that I can add a user to a group in OID. I searched for some codes I could use for this but failed. Can someone please guide me as to what APIs and method calls I need to use to add a user in OID to a group. The group will be a static name and hence will not change over time. Say the name of the group is GenericConn so when I provision the generic connector to the user, in the OID the user's dn should be added as a Member to this GenericConn group present there. Please guide me.
    Thanks,
    $id

I mapped the adapter variables as follows:
User ID to Usr Key of User data
orclguid to LDAP GUID of User data (I have LDAP Sync enabled in my OIM)
PDataOrg to LDAP DN of User data
    GroupDN to literal value cn=GenericConn,cn=Groups,cn=new,cn=test,cn=com
OrganizationDN to literal which is not populated with any value (same existed in the original AddUserToGroup task of OID Connector)
And all other adapter variables apart from these to the Process Instance -> OID Server -> corresponding attribute details while mapping
However when I provision the generic resource to the user, I get the task as rejected and the following error in the Resource History:
    Response:     DATA_ERROR
    Response Description:     Unknown response received
    Error Details
Sep 12, 2012: Could not find IT asset value for Svr_key = 1985 and spd_key = 51.Setting task status... "DATA_ERROR" does not correspond to a known Response Code. >Using "UNKNOWN".In the OIM logs I see the following:

  • How many ways to read and write a local variable in a called VI?

    Ciao!
I'm producing my first TestStand sequence. It is called "FirstAttempt" and it is made by a single step which calls a VI. One of the first dilemmas i encountered realizing this sequence is how to read and write a local variable (created going in Variables -> Locals ('FirstAttempt') -> <right click to insert local>) in the called VI.
The first way (the only one i tried) is to create a control and an indicator on the VI front panel, connect them to their respective terminals in the connector pane and then specify (going in Step Settings -> Module) that these connectors (shown in the Parameter Name column) are linked to the local variable (selected in the Value column).
The second way (not tried) consists in using TestStand API: create a Sequence Context reference on the VI front panel, link it to a property node in the block diagram, select the property "Locals" and extract from this the local variable name and value which, i think, can be readable and writable.
    So...
    Are the shown ways correct?
    Are there other ways?
Knowing that a "local" variable can be considered "global" within the whole sequence, is there the possibility to simply create a reference to the local variable and use the reference in the called VI block diagram in order to save space in the connector pane (if using method 1) or in the block diagram (if using method 2)?
    Thanks!
Message Edited by aRCo on 09-17-2009 05:09 AM

    Hi,
Before TestStand 3 you would use the second way you quoted as its the only way.
But now you would use the first way you quoted. You may still what to pass the SequenceContext if you were going to use the TestStand API. For TestStand 3.x and above you would use this way as the first chose. (Personnelly, I would not pass the SequenceContext into a VI if I know it was never going to be used in that VI.)
Not sure I understand your final comment, maybe you are liking it to passing the reference of a control to a subVI so that the control can be updated from within the subVI.
If this is the case and you had a situation where you had a step that was running in parallel with the rest of the steps in the sequence either as a separate thread or execution and were dependent on the contents of the  local variable changing from that parallel running step, then you would have to use the API SetVal method to change the local.
    Hope this is clear.

  • Flat File Transfer from SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP Business Connector 4.8

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement of transferring a flat file from my R/3 SAP 4.7 Box Application Server to the Business Connector 4.8 Box. I am new to SAP Business Connector and I am not to sure whether FTP works if I use a shell script in SAP R/3. Also, is there any way Business Connector Box can pull the file from R/3 Application Server and store the file in the Business Connector Server.
    Any help will be appreciated!!!
    Regards,
    Subhhrangsu

    Hi,
There are many ways thru which you can pass document to SAP BC:
You can HTTP, FTP, Email document to SAP BC.
SAP BC has predefined services for all of them.
For FTP document to SAP BC:
1 Initiate an FTP session on SAP BC Serveru2019s FTP listening port ( this can be found out from SAP BC administrator or from SAP BC homepage).
2 Point to the directory that contains the service to which you want to pass the XML
    document.
    Example cd \ns\Purchasing\SubmitOrder
3 Copy the XML document to this directory using the following command:
    put XMLDoc.xml
Where XMLDoc.xml is the name of the file that you want to pass to SAP BC Server.
    Example put PurchaseOrder.xml
Above code can be written in a batch file and you can schedule it to run at interval of minutes.
You can write java client program as well to upload file and map it to String variable of Flow service of SAP BC.
As Micheal said, you can look at sapbc/Developer/doc folder to look for more options.
    Best Regards,
    Divyesh
