BI Content collecting objects from wrong/old source system??

Hi Gurus! Lovely day here on the westcoast of Sweden - springtime is coming!
I have selected an infosource for installation in trx RSOR. I also want to pick up some objects in the dataflow before and after that specific infosource. So I guess the system keeps trying to collect metadata from diffrerent source systems that we have assigned.
I don't know the complete history of the systems - other than it's a bloody mess. We have right now a ECC 6 system connected to BI - but before that we had an older version connected (I guess 4.x something) on a diffrerent server.
Somehow the collection process picks up some data from the ECC 6 system - but sometimes it asks for a login to the old system as well.
This is my problem. I don't have an issue with logging on to the old system - because I have all the necessary rights to do that. But I don't want BI trying to collect metadata from our old system. So somewhere there's a pointer of some sort to the old system that I need to delete....
The old system is not visible in the "source system assignment" view so I can't really find out where to change this settings....
Any ideas??

It's probably so. Would I still carry out the instructions Andreas gave me for checking this? Or should I just delete everything and do it all over again, just to get the connections straightened out?
I'm more or less the only one at  this point using the system - as it is a kind of sandbox environment. So extreme measures is not a problem

  • Collecting data from two R3 source systems

    Dear All,
    Scenario:
We are in the process of implementing SAP BI 7.0 in our organisation.
We have a single BI server (7.01) collecting data from two source
systems from two different divisions within the group.
The first system is of Company 1 where we have IS u2013 MILL (ECC 6.0).
BI has been implemented and running successfully in this unit. Now we
have started implementing BI in the second unit u2018Company 2u2019
where the industry specific solution IS u2013 AFS (ECC 6.0) is the source
    system.
We are activating BI Standard Content for AFS. When we try to upload
master data, we face a problem.
The master data (0Division, 0Mat_Grp_3, etc.) is already loaded with
IS Mill data (data from the first source system). Now when the data is
loaded from IS AFS (second source system), wherever, the same key
exists in the info object, we notice that the existing data is
overwritten by the freshly loaded data, thus causing loss of existing
    data.
A typical example is as follows:
BW Data u2013 Source system 1 u2013 (Before upload of data from source system
    2):
    0Division
    99         EN          Stock Transfer Out
AFS Data (Source system 2) -
    0Division
    99         EN             STO
BW Data u2013 Source system 1 u2013 (After upload of data from source system 2):
After uploading the master data from AFS, the Values areu2026
    0Division
    99        EN            STO
    The original data is lost.
Similar problem is noticed with other master data as well.
Please suggest the right methodology for upload of master data when
data to BW is sourced from two systems. How to retain the data in the
same Infoobject but at the same time maintain distinction between the
    data from the two systems.
We donu2019t find any specific mention of such scenarios in the standard
    documentation.
Will such a problem recur when we upload transactional data?
    Regards,
    Aslam Khan

    Hi Aslam,
Please use some compounding attribute for your master data object like Sourcesystem ID.  While loading the master data from different source systems... you should have two different flows to fill the same master data object.  In each flow you can specify the Source system ID as constant value ... eg SS1 (Source system 1)  and SS2(Source system 2) in each of the data flows.   This should solve your issue without overwriting your master data
    Thanks

I have an iPhone 4s, but wifi the option is greyed out. The wifi stopped working on it months ago. Now I wanted to erase all content and setting from my old 4s and it will not connect to the internet, because the cellular data is no longer connected, since I bought a new iPhone 5c. I can't erase my phone by pluggin it into my Macbook Pro, since I can't disable the "Find my iPhone" App without internet. How do I erase all the data and setting on my 4s without connecting to the internet? It is running ios 7

    See this https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20131119125513AAtRloc
I just did it. To enter DFU mode, I had to use "method 3" on this post
    http://thebigboss.org/guides-iphone-ipod-ipad/dfu-mode
Too bad my 4S is 2 years old. Wifi is dead. I had to upgrade to 5S, but 5S is soooooo much faster than 4S so it's kind of good outcome. Without the 4S breaking down, a stingy person like me would have never upgraded the phone.

  • Move old Source System to new one.

    Hi,
    we are facing this situation.
Our DEV BW (BW1) system has two source system on ECC5 (EC1+EC2)
The ECC landscape is subject to release upgrade (to ECC6).
We have created a new DEV system (EC3), copy of PROD, and performed the upgrade.
The development team, ask us to move the structure of EC1 and EC2 in to the new EC3.
Actually, all the sourcesystem (EC1/EC2/EC3) are connected on BW1
Usually, i use the BDSL + RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL but only to exchange them for the source (ex: from EC1 to EC3).
In this case, the developer ask us to convert two sourcesystem.
Could  you tell me what kind of procedures i have to use in order to copy the transfer rules, hierarchies and so on the new source system (EC3)?
    Regards,
    Cristian

    Thanks Sidharth.
Actually i map ECC1 to ECC3 with BDLS.
Now, i'll will follow the transport copy procedure (Des Gallagher):
    RSA1
    Transport Connection
Button 'Collection mode' set to 'start manual collection'
Press 'Source system assignment' button (it's the one left of the
    'Request BEx' button)
Select the source systems you want to save the transfer rules for
    Continue
Button 'Grouping' set to 'Save for system copy'
At the left border click on 'Object Types'
    Extend tree 'Source system' LSYS
    Double click on 'Select objects'
Select the source systems you want to collect objects for
the source system is now displayed in the right box
Press collecting button ('gather dependent objects')
    this may take a while
Right click on the root of the tree and select
    Transport all below
Expand the whole tree and check if there isn't an object which is locked
by an other open transport request !!
(the column 'Transport request' has to be empty !)
    Press the transport button
=> A transport request is created. Check if the request contains all
    ISMP and ISTS objects.
Release the request! (BEFORE deleting the corresponding source system
    connection!)
In this way, i obtain a CR with the ECC2, so i should reimport the object (STMS?RSA1transportTool?), and maintain the mapping (HOW?STEPS?)
    thanks!
    Cristian

  • How to delete old source system assignment and assign new source system.

    Hi Experts,
I have bunch of datasource which are pointing to source system A (when I see it in RSA1). Recently all the datasources which are in source system A has been moved to source system B.
Now I have replicated all the datasources from the source system B. But in RSA1, still I am seeing the datasources which are pointing to sourcesytem A. I want this to be pointed to source system B.
Is there a way to do this?.  I have searched in forum and found that this ned to be done manually. Do i need to do it for all the datflows? Is there any thing we can do when running BDLS?.
Please let me know if you need more inputs.
Thanks a lot for you suggessions. Eagerly waiting for valuable suggessions.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Saravanan Payani.

    Hi Anindya,
Thanks for your quick reply. I want to keep the data what ever there in the cube as of now. From now on I want to extract data from new source system.
Basis team ran the BDLS but i don't see any changes. Still my datasources are pointing to OLD source system.
Background : I have an infocube for which the datasourec is ZCRM_MKT_001, which is available at  source system IRDCLNT001. Now the above datasource has been moved to new source system IRXCLNT001. As my datasource is moved to new source system, I want the data from the new source system.
My issue : But when i expand the data flow of the infocube in RSA1to the lowest node, against the datasource i can still see the source system as IRDCLNT001 (which is old) under 'Object Information' column. I want this to be pointed to my new source system that is IRXCLNT001.
Is there any way to arrive at this?.
Thanks for your time on this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Saravanan Payani.

  • Transport of XI Objects from Dev to Q system

    Hi Experts,
I need the steps for moving the XI Object from Dev to Q system.
I have completed the devlopment of object and i need to move to Q system.
All the servers are maintained at London.
what should i give to Basis people inorder to move to Q system.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Bhaskar

    Hi
You have three Options when considering transports between systems in XI:
    1. File Method - Using the standard tools in XI IR and ID it is possible to export the content to a filesystem and following this import into another environment using the import functionality. The advantage of this is that it is easy to do and not implementation overhead. The disadvantage is that you do not have clear tracability (you xhould keep all exported packages on the server).
    2. Using CMS - This uses the NWDI infrastructure to transport packages between environments. Only consider this option if you have NWDI in place in your environment otherwise in my opinion the overhead is too great. It only applies to Java Objects e.g. you cant transport for example ABAP Proxy classes using this methodology.
    3. Use CTS+ or enhanced CTS - This allows Java Objects to be transported to by attaching Java Objects to transport requests. This is good if you are an ABAPer and familiar with the se09.se10 transactions. It does however have and implementation overhead and also you must first export the Objects from IR and ID first as per point 1.
I think in a low usage env point 1 is fine .. for an env with 100's of interfaces I would go for 3.
All the links I think are in earlier posts ..
    Thanks

  • Differentiating Master Data from two different source systems

    Friends,
i have used standard InfoObjects that provide master data for two InfoCubes which take data from two different source systems. Now the some of the master data is identical in both the source systems (example: 10 stands for "Industrial" in one whereas 10 stands for "Agricultural" in the other). What do i do so that the system(BW) differentiates the two.
Thanks in advance for all the help.
    Mike

I tried to include the 0SOURSYSTEM in the compounding of this InfoObject (for master data) but it gives me a list of other objects that use this InfoObject as a reference characteristic and also says that this InfoObject is used in a ODS and data needs to be emptied in the ODS before activating  this InfoObject.  Please let me know if there is any way out of it.
    Thanks

  • DELETE OLD SOURCE SYSTEM IN BW

    Hello.
We have one source system created a few years ago but source system physically doesn´t exits.
I tried to delete it in RSA1, but we got many errors causes there´s not any system whith this physicall and logical name.
I can execute function RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT and disconnect it, but I have a lot of entries of that system in tables like RSISOSMAP. I think that we have many transfer rules and PSA tables with this system
Are there any procedure to delete an old source system manually?
    Kind regards.
    Marta

    Thank you Manga.
    But I have a question...
If I execute function, what happens with transfer rules and PSA tables?
We want to clean about this old source system data.
    Thank you

There is no error, but there is also no data preview that is displayed.
Can you help me with my problem?
I look forward to your reply experts!

    Hi,
sampling is out of a directory placed on the CLIENT. On runtime the directory must be placed on the SERVER.
So you must have two locations: one for sampling (*local) and one for (*remote) and before deployment you must switch from _local to _remote.
The _remote location points to a directory on the SERVER, don't forget to grant read/write privileges to the oracle user on the file system.

  • Will an BI Content upgrade from affect the source systems?

Our current BW has BI Content 7.02 patch 003; we are planning an upgrade to 7.03 patch 012.  Will we have any impact on the source systems (ECC and SRM)?  We are trying to decide if we need to archive and backup the operational systems.  Since it is a lot of extra work and increases the number of people affected, we prefer not to do it unless necessary.
What type of regression testing is most common after a BI Content upgrade?
    thank you very much,
    LLK

    Hi
As a data fetching from Source system -- the BI Upgrade does nt have any impact on Source Systems normally -- But u need to prepare a check list with before and after upgrade with DS ( Some times DS get de activated while upgradation ) and the DS are source system dependent so you may have to re activate the same based on requirement/possibilites-- And also you may have to empty the Delta Queues on Source System side -- otherthan that no impact , as far I know.
    Hope it helps and celar

  • Checks to be done before moving the objects from DEvV to PROD systems

    Hi,
Please provide the standard methods and checks to be done in the transport requests before moving the objects from DEv to PROD.
    Please help us here.

In se10 find your request and
Upper left corner - Request\task -> Complete check -> Object (syntax check) and Check Request Consistency.
This you can do for your request and all the tasks included in your request.
Note: Transport may still fail due to numerous reason (i.e) not all the objects needed are collected in the request,
but at atleast it gives some assurance that objects are not blocked in other requests etc...
