BI Content of BI 7.0 ABAP Trail Version

Hi,
I have installed the BI 7.0 ABAP Trail Version on my home computer and it works well, but when I tried to activate some Infocubes from the BI Content, I saw there is only one Infoarea 'Techical Content' in BI Content. Can any one tell me where is the other Infoareas in BI Content? or did anything go wrong with the Installation? and is there anyway to get the whole BI Content?

    Hi Martin,
    As you found out with this BI 7.0 ABAP Trail Version comes no BCT. As Jason mentions to upload the BCT you need first to install the Add-On on the system (given this Tail version has no such Add-On).
    That Add-On was previously (beofre mid 2007) available on SAP Marketplace, but after mid 2007 is only available via SOLMAN (Solution Manager).
    Therefore I think there is no way of updating this Trial Version with BCT (though I might be wrong) but as Jason pointed, this Trial version is intended to facilitate the practicing of ABAP skills.

    Hi,
    May be your SAP GUI, BW components are not installed. Reinstall SAP GUI and select BW checkbox during installation. Also you need to have ur excel macro setting (tools->macro->security) as either low or medium.
    check this note: 160995-BEx Analyzer: Excel Add-ins interfere at the start.
    If you are in 7.0, you need to unstall your front end and reinstall the 7.0 front end.

    Hallo Jaideep,
    You can add users to the system and let them connect, but keep in mind that only the predefined <b>bcuser</b> is able to create development objects (reports, classes, etc. ) in system.

    I downloaded the ABAP trail version from SDN and installed it in a VMware machine running Win2003 server enterprise version.
    However, each time I wanted to start the application server, I got a timeout error. Console output looks like:

    "NSP" which is installed by the ABAP Trial Version. Within that system,
    I am trying to access the ICM module/application.
    But its asking User name and passwod..Can u please update me that from Trail version we can use ICM or not??

    The ICM is intergrated part of ABAP now.
    So in the trail version, you can access the ICM application also.
    The user credentials would be the same as you were using in logging into ABAP. But what are you trying to access.

    probably you allread have a sapdb installation in your PC. please make sure, that you did uninstall anything before.

  • Installed NW 7.01 ABAP trail version - Can not able to test WD application

    Hi All,
    I have installed SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.01 ABAP Trial Version. I can able to create new programs using SE38 and also even adobe forms.
    But when i try to execute WD application, i am getting the below error
    Service can not be reached
    What has happened?
    URL: http://san-pc:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wdt_quiz call was terminated  because the corresponding service is not available.
    Note:
    Termination occurred in system NSP with error code 403 and for the reason Forbidden
    The selected virtual host was 0.
    Even when i try to create the elements in the view, i can not able to see the layout. I am getting same kind of above error :403 - forbidden
    I guess the interface/link between webdynpro application and NW is not there.
    So when i checked C:\windows/system32\drivers\etc\services, there is no entry for port 8000.I think it should be there. Because of this only i think i am getting the above error. Could any provide me that details please?
    Could any one help me out to solve the issue?

    Hi Sangeetha,
    You need to use FQDN for access WD ABAP Applications.
    After that, you needt to update JAVA_HOME system enviromental variable in my computer (My computer > Priperties >> Advance >> Startup and Recovery >> Enviromental Variable >> System Variables >> Add new JAVA_HOME parameter with path for installed Java JDK)
    - Start > RUN > drivers > etc > services and add an entry
    sapmsNSP    36<systemnumber>/tcp
    Then try to run your WD Applications, Hope it will work.

    The installer had to update some MicroSoft runtime libraries.
    For correct operation, a system reboot is required. Do you want to reboot now?
    i choose yes and then it rebooted. Then again when i start the installer, it asks for reboot. If i click no, it terminates the installation. I'm fed up with this.. Can someone help me out of this ?

    VISTA Enterprise will be better than Premium, i have seen some Installations on Premium having problems.
    For SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version System Requirements:
    Operating System: Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) or Windows Server 2003 and Windows VISTA.
    Its better you can go with Windows server 2003 if applicable.
