BI : Datasource field

Hi Experts ,
I have created the customised strucutre Zmaterialinventoryprice which inlcudes the customised structure zmaterialinventprc. I have included the field GJAHR (0FISCYEAR) in the structure and activated it. but despite of it i am unable to see the field in the structure of the DS. this is in source system kinldy advise me the checkpoints.

This will normally happen.When u do the enhancement.the field will show in append structure(SE11).But when you open the DS in RSA6 the field will not show.To check
Goto RSA2 -> Check the fields in the structure you will be able to see the enhanced field.But the property of the enhanceed will show as "A" (Means Hided).
You need write a code to populate the field in the structure.
Currently I do not have the code.Plz search you will get the code.

Enhanced Datasource fields not getting displayed in Transformation

Hi,
Eventhough after replicating the datasource, the Enhanced Datasource fields not getting displayed in Transformation.
Eg I have done mapping of 6 fields in transformation from datasource to DSO
Now the datasource is enhanced with 8 fields...........The transformation is not showing the added 2 fields
I am deleting the existing transformation.Is this the only solution?
Kindly suggest your answers.

HI,
Deleting is not solution as it is common scnerio.
Go to the data source in BW and in change mode check the option "transfer" for this two fields and then see if its coming or not.

BI 7.0: How to bring DataSource fields to InfoSource in design

We've replicated the generic datasource from R3 to BW and we have created an InfoSource with blank fields. We remember on BW 3.x version that we could bring Datasource fields to InfoSource by clicking somewhere, but on BI 7.0, we are trying to do the same thing, but can't find some function to do this. Then we try to right click the InfoSource and then select 'Create Transformation', and then to select the source system and the datasource, but of course we would get the error msg like "There are no fields in target TRCS InfoSource_Technical_Name". Any idea on how to bring Datasource fields into the blank InfoSource on BI 7.0?

Instead of bringing the DS fields into a blank infosource, ideally, what you can do
is, you can create a new infosource based on your generic data source, which would make your process easy..

I've created one generic datasource(Master data source), which contains exactly 8 fields. Afterwards that datasource is replicated in BW. According to that datasource, fields are created in RSA1. But those fields name and lengths are not name in BW.Is it problem or not? And another one thing is those fields are not belongs to one Master data source. Is it ok?

Hello Raja,
In BW side you have to map the fields with infoobject in transfer structure. The definition of (Properties) infoobjects which you are mapping must be in sync with the fields you are mapping.

Is it normal that the DataSource field is blank when opening a master data

Is it normal that the DataSource field is blank when opening a master data which is also an InfoSouce in InfoSource page.
Just locate an InfoSource which is also a master data or data target where next to which is a green triangle picture icon in InfoSource page, open it, the top part (Commnication Structure) is automatically expended. Expend the lower part "Transfer_Structure/Transfer_Rules", find the DataSource field is blank. This only occurs for an InfoSource which is also a master data which have more than two data loads (e.g., one is attibute, and the other is text load) or there are two InfoPackage loads for this master data. We checked for master data with only one InfoPackage under it (e.g., only text load) and find it's OK that the datasource field is not blank when expending the lower section.

It's not common. If you have three Data Sources like attributes, texts and hierarchy by default attribute data source will appear on the screen and for the rest of the things we need to do dropdown and select. This is how in general it appears.

Need you help !!! -- datasource field to ECC table mapping for 0material

Dear experts:
Recently we need to get a quick turnaround on the fields we would be bringing into BW through standard extractors for the tables MARC and MBEW. My idea is to look at those master data extractors like 0MATERIAL, 0PLANT and then try to find how fields in datasource mapped to ECC table.
So now I have 2 questions need your suggestion:
1. Is my way above feasible or any other way to get the fields mapping information for one specific table (Not datasource) ?
2. For 0MATERIAL_ATTR, I can neither find the table of origin for those datasource fields in SAP Library, nor in Tcode LBWE (Seems LBWE only for transaction data?). Can anybody give me a link for the fields mapping of 0MATERIAL and 0PLANT? or let me know where I can find those mapping information?
Any reply would be appreciated and thank you all in advance !

Well, the idea is simple. If you are using master data, then the easiest way is to find out which table is the master data stored. For eg. Material master data is stored in MARA table. Therefore 0MATERIAL_ATTR fetches data from the MARA table.
The next option is to check the function module.
1) Goto RSO2, and enter the data source name->display. The system wil throw a warning giving you the FM.
2) For eg. 0MATERIAL_ATTR will throw the error "DataSource 0MATERIAL_ATTR is extracted using functional module MDEX_MATERIAL_MD".
3)Go to SE37, and put the FM->display. Then go to the tables tab. You will see tables like BIW_MARA_S. The middle term is usually the table.
Another option is go to table RSGENFIELDMAP and put the field in the field selection. This would give the mapping.

Hi Abdul,
for that you just create one charecterstic of Info object (with the same technical charecterstics of R/3 field).. and maintain master data..
now create one data source in BW side.. and select your data source and replicate data with your generic datasource...
and load the data..

0HR_PY_1 Datasource: Fields not filled

Hello to everyone!
I'm afraid that I need some help from you. We are extracting HR data via 0HR_PY_1 Datasource and I have noticed that some fields are not filled by the extraction program. I've read BW Online Help about this datasource and I have realized that the extraction program doesn´t fill these fields.
Do you know how can I do to make these fields to be filled?

Thank you very much for your help but, I'm afraid that the procedure that you explained is for enhancing the datasource but my problem is that the fields already exist but they are not filled by extraction programmes. I don't understand why does SAP make this and I was wondering if there are any way to make these fields to be filled using the standard procedure. I mean, if these fields are not filled (and SAP tells you so in BW Online Help), why these fields are included in the extract structure and in the datasource?. I tend to think that there are any procedure to follow in order to fill these fields. What do you think about it?. In adition, the not-filled-fields are CO objects so it doesn´t appear to me to be very easy the filling of them.
I don't know if anybody has been in the same situation or if is there any documentation about it that can help. Thank you for your help!

Thanks for your answer, first i unmapped in transfer rules as per your sugession and executed the infopackage but the data has come when i was unmapped in update rules the data has not come.
My doubt is when i was unmapped in TR even though the data has come, so what is the use of unmapped here.
and how to unmapped char

Additional fields in infoset query can not be used as datasource fields

I create one infoset query with additional fields (using ABAP code) in R/3. When I create datasource RSO2 using this infoset query, system only show all fields without additional fields that I enhanced in infoset query. Does that mean we can not get additional fields information in generic datasource creation that we enhanced in infoset query?

you are enhanced some fields in r/3.right that fields are shown in
rsa6 select your data source click on display your datasource then select
extract structure its shows how many fields are haveing particular
datasource .or otherwise goto rso2 select your data source display
double click on your extractstructure its show how many fields haveing
the particular datasource. check the Rsa6 what ever fields you newly added that field default hide mode
you remove the hide tickmark.

Enhanced datasource field not replicated

Hi All,
I enhanced 0employe_attr datasource with one custom field. I appened the structure and I wrote user exit and activated . But when i replicate to BW the new field is not replicated.
I unchecked the hide field in the datasource and made it to selection and generated it.
When I run RSA 3 i can see record populating for the field. But the enhanced field is not replicating. to BW.

Sorry I could update , Currently i am working on 3.1 version, I replicated the datasource and I forgot to move the field from datasource to transfer structure in the inforsource maintance. Bcoz of that I could find the enhanced field in the transfer structure of infosource.
Anyways please uncheck the hide field or field only in the RSA6 after your enhancement and generate the datsource. and then replicate .

2)Added new field "ZZTEST"
3)Active
4)But when i got in RSA6 in order to uncheck "hide field" the added field is not present !!! but in SE11 the new structure is OK.
ANy idea?

CRM dataSource fields dont match with BW InfoObject and attributes

I have installed the 0BPARTNER in the BW system and also activated and replicated the master data datasoutces -0BPARTNER_ATTR, 0BPARTNER_TEXTS in the CRM system.When i execute the datasource 0BPARTNER_ATTR via t-code: RSA3 in the CRM system, the fields of this datasource does not match with the attribute InfoObjects of 0BPARTNER in BW system.
Please help me i am not sure if the above two datasource are to be used for attributes and texts load of 0BPARTNER.I checked this on SAP help and also on SDN.

R/3 DataSource field missing in Transfer Rules

Hello Everyone,
I am working with R/3 Datasource 0ASSET_AFAB_ATTR. I enhanced the structure by adding a new field 'VYEAR'. After generating the Datasource in R/3, i replicated the datasources on the BW Application Component. But, i cannot see the appended field 'VYEAR'in the Transfer Rules. The field is not hidden and I can see the field getting populated in RSA3 for that datasource. Could someone help.

Hi Sachin,
In the InfoSource Maintenance screen expand the node for transfer structur/transfer rules and click on the tab datasource/transfer structure and scroll down to find your field.

hi praveen,
when u create the transformation for the DSO, it asks for the source. in that you enter your datasource, then you get the datasource fields on one side and the rules in the middle and the DSO objects on the other side. whichever field of DataSource you want to refer in tranformation rule, just connect that field to the rule for the required object of the DSO.
