BI in SAP NW2004s Install
For BI 7.0/NW 2004s installation we have been provided with the ERP disks but the install is then on an ECC6.0 component version with SAP_BW and BI_CONT additional components. However, according to OSS note 855534, Embedded NetWeaver Components in ERP, this type of installation is only supported on a project by project basis. Is there another way of obtaining the Netweaver 2004s BI install with Web AS 7.0 without performing an ERP ECC6.0 install?
The files are available on service marketplace at http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Download -> Installations & Upgrades

NSP (SAP NW2004s ABAP AS 7.00 SP8) does not start anymore
Hi all,
I installed SAP NW2004s ABAP Trial Version SP8 and was able to work
with it. Since today I get a timeout error when starting the Application Server.
I tried to start the MaxDB instance with the SAP MMC but I do not know
the user and/or password for the MaxDB User (I did not change the
"Standard-User" provided during installation; unfortunately I do not remeber
the credentials)
Any ideas:
- why the application server does not start anymore ?
- what the credentials of the SAP DB Administrator are ?
Thank you in advance for your help,
AxelHi Axel,
this is a 90 day trial, though maybe you're already used it three month?
the database used to run under control, control (usr, password), btu that changes from time to time....

SAP NW2004s ABAP reinstallation problem
Hi all,
I have uninstalled the SAP NW2004s ABAP preview and now I would like to install it again on the same machine (running Windows XP SP2), but I am getting a precondition check error saying there already is a NSP system installed and that I should uninstall it first. Do you have any idea what might be the problem?

SAP NW2004s SP9 Download Problem
Hi,
I have been trying to download the SAP NW2004s SP9 from the download section of sdn, and I need all three files to install in my computer because I want to run the J2ee engine server locally as well. Unfortunately, I am unable to complete the download all of the three files because it keeps giving me a like "Internet Explorer cannot download SAPNW2004sJavaSP9_Trail.part1.tgz" when it got to half way of the download process. It also finishes the download process when it did not download the whole file.
Is there anyway that I can complete the download without having these issues? If anyone had the same problem, please let me know how to complete it. I would greatly appreciate that.
Regards,
-NapadolUse sap download manager to download it.

VM - Virtual Environments SAP NW2004s
Hi Experts,
We are move our SAP NW2004s, under windows 2003 plateform, Oracle 10g
Please advise me what server we do first QA, or DEV
Do I need to change someting before in SAP server before or after installed VM
Do I need to shutdown instance before run VM
Do I have to provide SAP license again after installed VM machine
or Do you have any best link, or doc. or SAP notes or technical guide line... before we move
Please verify
your response really appriciated
Thank in Advance
AngelineHi Matt,
thanks you very much for provided that information, I read that Note, but it doesn't say anyting about License key or hardware key or MIC address key...
I am really confouse becuase some one told me do not change anyting just install VMware software different machine, and get the image... but almost 50% same you have to get new license key or hardware key to install in VMware client...
I have very simple question
We have very powerfull machine we just need install VMwear software in that machine...
I have SAP Image after installed VMware software I have to put that image in it
What I need to change after that in VMware machine?
Do I need to active license key in there too?
please verify -
Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc?
Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc(Which is also sap server with same version and same DB)?
I have tried to configure using help from previous post in SCN ( SAP MMC in one server to control the entrie landscape ) but it is not working... As picture shown below after entering the details am clicking on add but nothing is happening...
Scenario is I have installed 4 VM's with SAP installed in all (out of it 3 linux and 1 windows) & all communicating well and they are in same Network/Landscape & I can configure/manage/logon all servers in host GUI... But If I shutdown my VM or a Laptop... Every time I have to start all the servers... by starting lsnrctl, DB, sap for all the servers,
Is there any chance to configure sap in windows sapmmc...???
Kindly suggest the process step by step...
Thanks in advance...Hi Yüksel
Thank you for the reply It helped me to configure but i struck in some place.. Dispatcher is getting stopped... I tried to add 3 different sap servers in sapmmc and tried to start.. Three are getting same errors(Guess same error)
After your suggestion i was able to configure and start SIDadm of host but immediately or after 30sec Dispatcher gets stopped tried to find out some solutions but didnt worked... But i was able to start from there servers manually in linux way startsap, but not in SAPMMC way...
Could you or please help me in solving trace given below...

How to boot from external Hardisk where sap is installed
Hi friends,
I have an External Hardisk where SAP is installed in it i.e., Win 2003 on C drive & SAP on D drive.
In my laptop Win XP is there, but I am trying to boot with External Hardisk where Win 2003 is installed.
I am selecting to boot from External Hardisk where Win 2003 is installed but it shows the Win 2003 booting screen and the next moment screen becomes black.
So can anyone help me How to boot from Hardisk.
Thanks
santhoshHi,
You can not boot OS from USB devices in Windows.
Create the separate drive on your existing disc and install windows on that drive and use ur USB disc for installing SAP.
Hope it'll help u.... -

AcfExecute on a PC without SAP Frontend Installed
Hi,
Is it possible to use AcfExecute on a PC without SAP Frontend installed.
I have a requirement of starting a local .bat file an a Client pc. It will be triggered from a Webdynpro ABAP application.
I've set up a whitelist and everything is working fine on my development machine after activing the whitelist.
But, has anyone tried it on a PC without SAP Frontend Installed? Could that work too. By manually placing the SAPFrontendService.xml file on that target pc? Or how can it be done? Any special tweeks necessary?
Planning to test this on Monday at a Client site and if anyone could share your experiense regarding this I'd be very greatful.
Best Regards

Problem Creating New Client in SAP NW2004s ABAP+JAVA LINUX
Hi,
I installed successfully NW2004s dual stack on linux vmware (SUSE10 enterprise server). This stack give me two client by default, 000 and 001. System gives me default user sap* and password: sapn4sadm
I want to implement the process for BW enabling, and I want to create New Client for it. I have been used SCC4 to create a new client by logging on with the Client 000, but the problem start, when I log-on with the new client.
Client: 002
User: sap*
Password: pass
I have tried system default password of sap* , but that also dosen't help.
It doesn't work, I also try RZ10 to change the value of login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0, but I don't find any profile , when I click on the profile field, i get the message "Profile not found". I am not figuring out where I am doing wrong.
How can I success to create a new Client in which i could log on with sap* user. Please Help me
All yours help would be highly rewarded.
Obaid. In order to edit profiles In RZ10, you must first import them.
Menu: Utilities --> Import Profiles --> Of Active Servers
After this you can add your parameter.
One alternative is to edit the profile directly with vi, restart the system, do all client copy tasks, remove the parameter with vi, restart the system again and then import the active profiles.
the profiles are located in directory
/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile
and the filename is something like this
<SID>_DVEBMGS<instancenr>_<hostname> -
