BI Info Object Missing

After Post Installation Activities of BI and Integration with R/3 following SAP Best Practices Configuration Guide ( http://help.sap.com/bp_bw370/BBLibrary/HTML/B84_EN_DE.htm) . I am unable to find the Info Objects in RSA1

Hello,
Have you activated the infoobjects from business content along with their infoobject catlogs? If you do not activate the infoobject's catlogs then it may not be possible to see the infoobjects in RSA1. If you check in RSD1 can you find active versions of the Infoobjects?

Thanks for the info. I am little confused. I thought i had full BW in my ECC6. What is the difference between ECC6.0 with BW and ECC6.0 with BW/BI7.0? BI7.0 has all business contents in it?
The IDES software has BW/BI 7.0 in it. That is what the person whi gave me told me. How can i verify that?
I have some knowledge of BW and i am trying to learn this new BW 7.0 on my own. Since it does not have BI content how can i proceed to learn on my own.

Steps to correct transport that had missing info object

Experts,
I had tranpsorted Material Master data after enhancement and realized that I missed to add custom info object in transport (BW). This transport come with Error 8 in QA. Now, I have transported missing object to QA with new transport request. Mw trasport in R/3 and data source replication were good. Currently, Transfer structure and 0Material are inactive. I would like to know steps to correct my tranport best possible way. Can I do repair or reimport my first transport? Please advice. Thanks.

Data missing for info object 0 sales org

Hi,
I have Info object 0sales org in Free characterstics of report and its not Navigation attribute.
When I drill down the 0SALES ORG the data is not coming for this 0SALESORG even if i put this info object in rows also data is not coming and in back end multi provider data is there and in cube level also data there.
How to resolve this error .Please advise me.

I find it hard to believe.
1. If you have data in Infocube, and if you query is based on multiprovider, then the only reason why you cannot see the data is if the characteristic is not mapped between them.
2. Check in the infoobject properties in the query whether it's hidden. I doubt.
When you say "data is not coming", does it means you can't see it for each record even though it's in infocube?

Info Object is missing in the Cube available list.?

I have one standard SAP Delivered Info object which is available in RSA1. But when I'm trying to create a Cube with the available field list., there its not getting appear for the selection.!!
So please clarify me what needs to be done in this case.
This Infoobject is available in the Active Version and assigned in the proper Info area.

So many thanks for the reply. As my Dev systems was down. I cudnt able to change the settings. And today I did the change and tried actiavting the object. But the activation has failed bcz of the following reasons.

How to activate the Info object catalog in Business content

Hi,
While trying to activate the Info object catalog, I found that some of the info objects under this catalog was earlier activated by some other developer. I brought this catalog (0SALES_CHA01) over to the Business content activation panel ( with only 'necessary object settings ) and all the info objects that also came along were de-selected since I didn't want to install those again). When I tried to install these I get an error indicating that some of the info object in question are not already active.. and ultimately the catalog doesnt get activated , although more than half of its infoobjects are already active under the '0CHANOTASSIGNED' node.
Please let me know whether I can get only the Catalog activated without getting any existing activated info object merged or installing those which are not already activated.

Hello Arunava,
Just drag the infoobject catalog as u did earlier to the left in the bus cont installation screen with "only necessary object" option.
Dont try to deselect any object. Go ahead with the default options and install in background.
Now you can check for the available objects in the catalog. if you have some objects missing, and available in unassigned node,double click on the newly installed infoobject catalog, select the required objects (which are not yet assigned to this) from the left side and bring them to the right side.
this will make the unassigned objects assigned to the required catalog.

Info-Object data not appearing in Multiprovider

Guys,
I got a problem here. I have created a multiprovider based on master data and cube. My master data has certain attributes which are not present in the cube. I want to display data for those fields in the multiprovider.
I can see cube data in the multiprovider view but i don't see any data coming from the master data info-object. 0INFOPROV shows only cube name.
Is there something i am missing or any setting that i need to do ?

Hi All,
Multiprovider always has issues when you are trying to link two objects vary in their structure. Lets say if you are creating a multi-provider on a ODS object & Cube or Cube & Info-object. Lets say CHAR X is available in Cube and not in ODS or master data.
Any selection on char X will not fetch you any record from ODS / master data as it is not available in ODS / master data. You need to add the characteristic to ODS / master data and update the same way as you are updating it in the cube. Otherwise don't make any selections based on this characteristic.

Master Data is not appearing in Info Object

Hi Experts,
I have loaded text data from data source 0WS_QUEST_TEXT to info object 0WS_QUEST. While running DTP, Load monitor displays 12 records are added to info object.
Also while activating master data it gives error: "Master data for characteristic 0WS_QUEST already active"
When i select Display Data option by right clicking on Info Object 0WS_QUEST, no data is displayed.
Please let me know whether I am missing any step while loading master data.
Please note that info package has already run and data is there in PSA.

Hi,
Just go to Infoobject and right click and select option maintain master data.
Don't put any value and just execute.since there are only 12 records,it should show all the records .
You can also check text table data by getting inside that object directly or through SE11/SE16 option.
When the records are activated ,it will not activate it again,so it is not error,its just a message.

Issue with Info Object Transport after changing Data Type

Hi Experts,
We have a DSO which is running past 5 years. And recently(3 days back) we added new fields into that DSO. Delta loaded for last three days and new info object (Say XXX) data populated into DSO.
Now the problem is, We identified that, info object data type is not correct. We used data type NUMC instead of CHAR.So Character information is missing for that field.
Example:
Data from ECC: ABC123
Data Loaded to DSO: 123 (Missed character ABC)
So we deleted data from DSO and changed the info object data type in Development system.
And also I have deleted only last three days delta records from DSO and transported my info object to Production. But its giving error as: Info object contains data in DSO".
But that info object field is empty in DSO. I have already deleted last three days delta.
Do I need to Delete all 5 years data from DSO to change the data type of recently added new info object ?
Please give me your solutions and ideas to solve this issue.

Thank you for your answer.
When I changed the data type of info object in Dev, I deleted the content of DSO. And same thing transported to QA as well. Before importing changed info object, I just deleted the content of DSO from QA. So transport done successfully QA.
But in Production we have a history of past 5 years. So I cant delete all contents of DSO.
So just deleted only the delta request's which contains data for that info object(3 days back, we moved that info object(NUMC data type) to production,So last 3 days delta only loaded for that info object). And tried to transport it. But it was failed. I am sure we need to drop all data from DSO, if I am interested to go with same info object.
I have some comments on your first approach,
1. If we delete info objects from Dev DSO and transport to Production will give transport failure, Why because, my previous transports errors clearly saying that info object contains data in DSO . So it wont allow to remove that info object from DSO.
2.We are using same info object technical name in BO Data federator also. So if we change add new info objects again we need to make changes with BO as well. I am thinking this point as my last option if i cant find any other solution.

Query on Time Dependent Info object

Hi ,
I am trying to create a query out of a time dependent info object.The info object is 0employee and since it is time dependent it has the date from and date to automatically in the infoobject master data. However these fields do not come up as characteristics when a create a query out of this infoobject.
Can you please let me know why or am I missing something ? I know I can get it if i use it in a cube or DSO but i want to create from this infoobject. Please help.

0employee_attr datasource have start and end date is mapped 1:1. target is 0employee? but when i check at 0employee attribute tab i have seen any start and end date attributes.
If you have it in attr u should be able to assign as read from master data.
Otherwise routine will be
SELECT STARTDATE from /BI0/MEMPLOYEE where employee = source_fields-employee.
for start date and
SELECT ENDDATE from /BI0/MEMPLOYEE where employee = source_fields-employee.
for enddate

Hi All,
I am new to BW/BI, and i am trying to upload data from flat file to BI system; I have uploaded the data successfully into PSA and then into InfoCube; But when i am trying to display the data in the cube i got some 4 errors, i managed to remove the 3 errors by successfully re-importing the missing infobjects from BI Content.
How ever i was not able to overcome this error; it says, "Info Object 0CHNGID is requested", i tried to search this info object in the BI System so that i can also re-import the same but it is not available.
So can anyone of you assist me to overcome this issue.

Its there in the Business content check it. i had checked it just now.
Can u tell me how you are checking the 0CHNGID?
Goto RSA1 -- BI Content -- object types -- infoobject -- search for info object -- and install it.

Data loading of 0vendor from PSA to Data Target(info object)

Here I have one problem that..i have loaded the master data 0vendor data is coming upto PSA but not going to data target i.e info object .
Here I am giving the system message in RSMO (status tab)

Diagnosis
Processing the request in the BW system is taking a long time and the processing step has still not been executed.
System response

Procedure
Check in the process overview in the BW system whether processes are running in the BW system under the background user.
If this is not the case, check the short dump overview in the BW system.</b>
Yesterday also I got this error is it concerned to BASIS guy or have to do in BW.
I remind you this is daily job .

i checked in ST22 i didnt find short dump and in RSMO i find <b>transfer(Idocs and trfc):Errors occured,
Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Data packet not yet processed</b> in details tab..i have activated transfer rules also..data is available in PSA..in infopackage tab i have selected full update
and in Processing tab:i find
Data Package 1 ( 11442 Records ) : Errors occurred
also showing transfer rules with red button.
so if u give any solution for above problem i will be highly thankful to you

Key figure - master data info object

I have been asked to create a master data info object for the object "users" and this is this how the data looks like in the flat file. The object users is a key figure. Can I create a master data object for key figures. Let me know , if I am missing something.

Hi Pooja,
You cannot create master data for a key figure. You can include a key figure as an attribute for another characteristic though. If you need to store values that are in the form of numbers, you can create your char of type NUMC.
Please let us know more about your scenario so that a better solution may be proposed.

Urgent - Problem with info object

I have info object ZH_SONR (not master datatable), I changed the length of the info object from 12 to 10 in the development system. This info object is used in the general remote info cube.
Now my issue is I moved the change from development to acceptance. I moved the info object without deleting the msater data in the development system. due to this transport request failed to move to acceptance sys and also the inof obnject is inactive in the acceptance sys. (How activate info oject directly acceptance syst)
Can anybody suggest me.how to solve this issue. Pleae it very very urgent for me

Hi,
Just to correct you there is no need to move the dependencies of the infoobject esp the cube if they are already present in the acceptance system.
Check the exact error using the log in the transport and you will come to know the error for the transport.There can be other errrors also might be number range interval missing or so. So please check the log in se10 or se09 and see what is the error u are getting for the transport Deleting data in the dev system will not hamper i feel you need to take care of the data in the acceptance system .
Please rethink concern and then proceed.

Hi,
The maximum length supported by one CHAR type infoobject is 60. Check whether you have assigned more.
If you have to load more length ( more than 60) split the total thing into different infoobjects. Create different infoobjects and split the total thing into them - like 1st 60 char in 1st infoobject, char 61-120 in 2nd infoobject and so on. Then you can again concatenate them.
