BI Infoset - infoobjects

Hi
I created and infoset from two cubes. I would like to clean up the infoset, I don't need all the infoobjects from the two cubes. For e.g. I have two gross sales (calculated key figure) being displayed in my infoset.
How do I exclude one of them?

Try editing at TCode: RSISET..?(for 3.5, not sure of 7)

Hi,
Yes the join is an inner join and i have connected just one infoobject in both the objects i.e. infoobject and ODS.
When i run the query it is bringing the right values from the ODS based on the join but the attribute Data from the Infoobject master data is irrelevant i.e. it is not bringing data based on join.

Gray InfoObjects in Infoset

I am trying to enable reporting on InfoObjects on my InfoSet in BI 7.0, but whenever I open the InfoSet I cannot check the box next to the InfoObject name because it is grayed out.
Can anybody explain how to remedy this?

Infoset can be operated only with Master Data Infoobjects. Are the Infoobjects you use are the master data ones?? plz check..

No not possible.
You can include any DataStore object, InfoCube or InfoObject of type Characteristic with Master Data in a join. A join can contain objects of the same object type, or objects of different object types. You can include individual objects in a join as many times as you want. Join conditions (equal join condition) connect the objects in a join to one another . A join condition specifies the combination of individual object records included in the results set.

Inactive InfoObjects in MultiProvider based on InfoSet after Upgrade NW04s

We are upgrading our sandbox environment from BW 3.5 to NetWeaver 2004s or BI 7.0. We have done a technical upgrade and are currently using the obsolete authorizations. In testing we have discovered that our MultiProviders that are based on InfoSets contain inactive InfoObjects. Has anyone else had this problem. In running a query that uses this MultiProvider we get the message to activate our MultiProvider again.
Is it necessary to activate all existing MultiProviders based on InfoSets after upgrading to NetWeaver 2004s?

Hi Jeri,
Yes this is sometimes required.
Infosets are sometimes deactivated because additional checks are available after the upgrade or because new attributes become part of your info-object.
When you change something to an underlying data provider of a multiprovider, the multiprovider is automatically inactivated and you have to reactivate it.
I also had this problem with other upgrades.
In general, activation is not too much of an effort.

How to add an infoobject in a DSO ,on which Infoset is built

Hi,
How to add an infoobject to a DSO,on which an infoset is build.
In general common infoobjects can be for reporting purpose right?
Do I need to add the new infoobject in all the DSOs.My infoset consists of 6 DSOs.
If my concept is wrong.what is the correct method of extracting infoobjects from DSOs to Infoset.

Hi,
You need to add these two fields in the DSO only. Make sure that you are mapping these two fields in the transformation. After that, drop the data and reload the DSO. Then make changes to the infoset.
By Component, what I mean:
I'll take your example only...
Say, for Material_Group, this data is not coming to DSo data Source. In this case, even if you will add this object to your DSO, you wont be able to map this in the transformation as R3 filed is not available. Ultimately, you wont be able to load data for this. So, its worthless.
But, you have a master data called 0Material. and Material_Group is an attribute of this 0Material.In this case, you will add 0Material to the infoset directly, as a component of infoset(from the tab infoobject), and you will select Material group. In this way, we generally aceess the master data attributes.

Infoobject in infoset but not displaying in query designer

I have created a query on infoset(ods1 & ods2).
a custum defined infoobject (fiscyr) is not displaying in query designer while it is present in infoset.
pls give your inputs,for why this infoobject is not available in query designer.

Hi Radika,
I cannot think of anything other than the solutions already mentioned in this thread (checking the IOBJ in infoset, running RSISET and activating it). I just had a foolish idea that you might not be looking for the right IOBJ. All the IOBJs from an infoset are not displayed with their original technical names in the query designer. They are disdplayed in the format: <infoset_technical_name>_FXXXXX where XXXXX is a number.
Also try one more thing. Go to transaction RSISET and type in the technical name of the infoset there.
Right below the box where you type the Infoset name is a check button. Check your Infoset there and then activate it from within the RSISET transaction (the activate button is right after the check button). With Infosets, sometimes just activating it from within RSA1 does not work but RSISET always seems to work.
Do this and see if it helps.

InfoSet maintance - added new InfoObject, not available in query

We appended a new field to the 0VENDOR_ATTR extractor and the data comes accoss fine. We are using InfoObject 0CREDITOR in an InfoSet. When I did an 'adjust' step to the InfoSet, the new InfoObject became visable but the check box is grayed out and the new InfoObject is not usable in a query. Is there any way to change the check box so that the new InfoObject is available in a query?

Hi John,
Change your 0CREDITOR InfoObject and make sure that the 'Attribute Only' box is not checked. You will be unable to make it usable in an InfoSet query if this box is checked. Let me know if this solves your issue.

Technical names of infoobjects in infosets

Hi,
I have create an Infoset through several ODS and cubes. System automatically generates technical names starting with F, at design screen for each infoobject in ODS or cubes. But i want to see and use original tech. names of objects especialy on the BEX design screen. F names are confusing me.
Is that possible ?

Technical names are assigned sequentialy.
You can enter in Infosets definition and push the button of technical names (the most right one)
In BEX i think is not possible.

Multiprovider-links with infoobjects and infosets

Hi,
at RSA1 --> info provider,,find and click your multiprovider on next screen there are tabs(infoset/info cubes/info objects/dso), check each tab. thru tshat you will know the objects which are connected to your multi provider.
On each tab if any object name maintained and selected then that is connected to your multiprovider.

Problems in query result with infoset and timedep infoobject

Hi,
I have the following situation:
infoobject ZEMPLOYEE timedep
Infocube 0C0_CCA_C11 (standard cost center/cost element postings)
-> infoset with infoobject and infocube linked with outer join
My query should show all active employees in one month without any posting in the infocube.
My testdata looks like this:
pernr date from    date to         cost center
4711 01.01.1000 31.12.2002
4711 01.01.2003 31.01.2009   400000
4711 01.02.2009 31.12.9999
That means the employee is only active between 01.01.2003 and 31.01.2009.
I expect the following result in the query with key-date 31.01.2009:
4711 01.01.2003 31.01.2009   400000
I expect the following result in the query with key-date 01.02.2009:
no result
-> because the employee is not active anymore, I don't want to see him in the query.
My query delivers the following result:
4711 01.02.2009 31.12.9999
The first and the last entry in master data is automatically created by the system.
I tried to exclude the not active employees by selection over cost center in the filter (like cost center between 1 and 9999999, or exclude cost center #). But unfortunately the filter selection does not work, because obviously the attributes are not filled in the last entry.
Is there anyone who can tell me how I can exclude the last entry in the master data in the query?
Any help is much appreciated! Points will be assigned!

problem is that I can't use employe status in this case, beacuse for any reason the people don't use it.
I have also tried with exceptions and conditions, but the attributes ar enot filled, so it seems that nothing works.
Do you have any other suggestions?

Infoset on ODS and infoobject doesn't get data

Hi Firends,
I have 4 fields in ODS (A,B,C,D) . And an INFOBJECT 'X' compunded to 'A', 'B' .
I am trying to create an infoset using this ODS with this infoobject 'X' & am joining them as below:
ODS-A = INFOOBJECT-A
ODS-B = INFOOBJECT-B
But when I execute the query, I dont see any data for 'X', though I see data for all other fields A,B,C,D.
Any idea what could be the problem?

Infoset on One Master Data InfoObject

Hi,
I have an InfoSet created on one Master Data Object (ZCUSTOMER). ZCustomer has many attributes.
When I execute a query to display Customer Hierarchy on this InfoSet I get all the accounts.
Now, when I create the same query on the Zcustomer directly and execute, I don't get all the accounts.
Please help me understand why?

Master data is not getting enabled in the InfoSet.

Hi Experts,
I have 3 DSOs in an InfoSet and I have also brought 2 Master data infoobjects in this infoset.
The master data check box in the infoset is not enabled and also not getting displayed in the Query Designer.
Can anyone please let me know how do I bring the master data in the query???
Also please advice me whether I should have only 3 DSOs in the infoset.

In my DSO I have an InfoObject called Emp No. in the Data Field.
The Emp.No is being maintained as master with (Emp Name, Address, Telephone No, DOB) as attributes.
I have loaded the data in the Emp. No master. Then tried loading the transaction data in DSO.
The Emp.No is there in the DSO active data, but in the query designer its not getting displayed.

      Infocubes?ODS?Multiprovider?Infoset?
In our design stage we had no problem creating ODS and Cube's but as our requirements kept changing we had to create Infosets rather than Multicubes as we were not having common fields between Cube and ODS. Secondly we couldn't have cubes as Infosets are built between ODS and Infoobjects.
      Can someone throw some light on the performance issues based on our current design were we have ODS and Infosets built. What are the pros and cons between
1) InfoCubes and ODS
2) MultiCubes and Infosets
      Any kind of thoughts would be of great help in our analysis.

Guys anyone who faced difficulty in analyzing such issues please do post your views.

We has the same requirements ...and had to build a lot of info sets ....
Reporting on any of the Navigational Attributes is NOT possible on an Info Set.
Go to RSRT and look on what fields on which the query is doing a Sequential read...if required try to build indexes on that fields.
In some cases we cannot restrict the queries ...if you are queering on yearly reports ...running against InfoSet's is not at all recommended......
For better performance of your queries try to build secondary indexes and as far as possible try to avoid InfoSet ....BW 3.5 has ADP try to workout something on that if u are on 3.5.
For performance try to compress your request in your cubes on your BP.
