BI job not active in source sysyem

Hi all
I am trying to extract data from CRM source system for a standard extractor into BI. But when I execute the infopackage, the job in the source system(in SM37) is always in "Scheduled" status. I have to manually release it to make it "Active" and extract data. This happens each and everytime I schedule the infopackage. I checked the security authoriztion for ALEREMOTE as well as my USERID and they are fine. I am not sure if I am missing any settings.
By the way it worked fine in Development and Quality environments. This is happenning in Production.
We are on
SAP_BW 700 0016 SAPKW70016 SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0
ST-A/PI 01K_CRM560 0000 Application Servicetools for CRM 500 510

Hi,
are you scehduling this load by process chain or through Infopackage.
if is it process chain check the Start varient setting, or meta chain.
for process chian there are prirority for triggering process chain.
if infopackge check the Schecing tab settings .. start condition
Start data load Immediately 'or'
Start Later in Background
If its start later in background, check that it might be scheduled for some particular time(or may be some other setting)
change it to immediate.

Urgent.. generic data source... table not activated.....

i am extracting generic data source
while doing it, it is saying as the table which i have selected in the screen SE11 has not activated
can anybody please tell solution...

Data source is not activated!!!!

Hi Friends,
Currently we are workig on BI 7.0 version and trying to upload flat file data. We have created Datasource for Flatfile source system and activated ( 100% sure about activation). But when we trying to give selections for the Fields in the infopackage screen it was saying the above said Datasource is not in Active version ( Even thoug that was activated properly).
We are wondering about this in the data souce tree it was cleary showing as activated , but in the infopackage it was stating that is not activated.
Please look into this one and give your valuable suggestions.

Job ZINF_TRANS_ACK_FILE_CITI is not active- Cancellation not possible!

hi,
one job is in ready state from long time and unable to stop/delete.
Error is like job is not active- cancellation not possible.
Kindly someone suggest me how to cancel the job on priority.

Hello Bala,
This is not a PI question. You should have raised the question in different forum.
Anyways, You can delete a JOB.
Place cursor on the Job , goto JOB in the top right and delete the JOB.

Source system is not active?

I have Data source created in CRM and I have created a Info source and Source system is connected with the data source I am getting a message "Source is not active".
Can any please help me to understand about this?

In RSA1 check for your CRM source system and do a check on the source system whether it connected with BW system or not.
RSA1-->Source Systems and right click on CRM Source System name and check. This check shoul be active, if not contact concerned person.

ALE Change Pointers in source system not active

Hi All,
I am trying to load 0COSTELMNT using deltas. The initial load is OK and then i use a delta and it fails and i get the error:
"ALE Change Pointers in source system not active"
I have carried out the following steps in an attempt to resolve the problem - but it didnt. Anyone have any advice??
(1) Checked BD61 to confirm whether the change pointers are active
(2) Checked BDCP to confirm the number range is maintained
(3) Checked SALE (Activate change pointers for message types) to confirm whether the change pointer has been activated for the type we need:
COCOKA Control segment CO object/cost element
COELEM Cost element master data
(4) In transaction snum, Selected number ranges and confirmed the intervals are setup

TO: 0000009999
(5) Activate transfer structure
(6) Replicate Datasources

If you are transferring master data from source system, the BD61 setting on the source system should be checked.
Why it has been unchecked - not sure (likely someone did it by mistake).
It shouldn't have any effect on txnl delta. What will be effected though is that you will have lost delta of the ALE based data sources for the period this setting was unchecked.

Source System of Dev System is not active QAS System.

Have you checked the mapping of the source systems in the conversion table (RSLOGSYSMAP)?
Usually, DEV source systems are not available in QA, so when you transport to DEV, the source system assignment has to be changed to a QA source system.
For example, source system CRDCLNT100 (CRM DEV system) is connected to BWDCLNT100 (BW Dev)
and CRTCLNT100 is connect to BWTCLNT100.
Objects in BWD which are assigned to CRD, have to be re-assigned to the CRT source system when transporting them from BWD to BWT.
The mapping table is maintained in RSA1, menu option tools > 'mapping of the source system names'.

Source system not Active error while installing BI content cube

When I try to install the BI content cube, In logs it is showing the error message as "Source client not Active". I activated the source system in modelling tab. Still the problem continues. In source system assignment of BI content the source client is also checked. Please give me a solution.

Hi Selva,
If you want to select only infocube, select "Only necessary objects" in grouping. If you want everything related to Info cube, then system will collect data source also and for that it will check if you are authorized in source system. Please check if the source system is connected to BI or you can do one thing activate the data source in source system and replicate it in BI.

Transformation giving this error "Source not active"

I'm trying to create transformation and I am getting this error message "Source not active". I went in to source system (in my case it is flat file). I activated the source system again but I get the error still.

Hi,
As others have suggested, activate the DATA SOURCE and also try to view data in your flat file . you can find this option in the last tab in the data source. if your souce is active , it will allow you to see the data, this way also you can confirm is its active or not.
You mentioend that you have activated the source system, not a data source...
Try again activating the data source, it should solve your problem.

Pattern selection ('CP')is not actively supported by Data Source

I am having an issue with data load using a datasource. I am trying to load data by using Pattern Selection for SERNR field in InfoPackage. I want all the SERNR starting with S*. When I try to load, I am getting below load error:
Diagnostics:
Pattern selection ('CP' Contains Pattern) is not actively supported by DataSource ZBW_DS_EQUIPMENT from source system ECD310YPCC for selection field SERNR.
I was able to load data for another datasource by giving Pattern selection on SERNR = S*.
Is there any setting in datasource to enable pattern selection for a specific Field?

We have this option In DataSource (BW) under Fields tab, Sel.Opts., Here we need to select option 7 (Selection EQ, BT, CP Permitted).
I think issue will be resolved if I select this option,

I need to load data to ODS from a ZTable. Version 7.0
This is what i have done so far:
- Created a ZTABLE. (OK)
- Loaded data via function modules through excel macros. (OK)
- Created DataSource(ZGDRDS01) from a ZTABLE in RSO2. (I guess OK)
- Create DataTransfer Process - (NOK)
       Source of DTP
         Object Type : DataSource
         DataSource : ZGDRDS01
         Source System: BWD
    - Error Message: Source ZGDRDS01 of BWD(type DTASRC) is not active (like if it didnt exists)
(I didnt find any Activate button in RSO2)
Somebody else did something similar before and created its own DataSource, that one I can use, but i need to create my own.

Did you create Transformation which is a prereq for creating a DTP ?
- No i didnt create the transformation first, but the problem was the same. When I created a Transformation it asks me for the DataSource and back again to "source is not Active".
New problem:
I went to SourceSystem and replicated the datasources,
- Know it appears just below the other one that was previously working.
- However it appears with status Inactive and there is no Activate Button.
- Something went wrong with the version because the column "M = A Version" appears =/=, for my new Datasource. I right click on it -> Replicate Metadata but didnt help. Any other option marks me something lik is not Active or
   "The DataSource ZGDRDS01 (BWD) does not exists in object version A"
if i right clic -> Display
Version = Modified (yellow)
I deleted the datasource and generated it again with the same result.
¿do you know how to fix this?
P.S ¿Should I post a new thread for this problem?

Datasource is not active in BI though source system has active DS

I have three datasources which are active in source system.
i had replicated all these three datasources into BI system...
But even after replication for all the three datasources M version is different from A version..
I cannot activate manually all these datasource in production system as it is allowed only for display purposes..
how can i make these datasources active?

The worrying point is i had never done that like before..
I always transport datasource in R/3 side first and then replicate to BI systems and using directly..
since the source systems assigned to it are different ( In BI Dev system R/3 source system and in BI production source system is ofcourse is R/3 production..)
Is it Ok even if the dataasources had different source systems? when transporting from dev to prodution?

Transfer structure not active after runing RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL

Hi BW Experts,
we are having a migration and just after migration we are finding the the transfer structure is not active. Hence in order to activate the same we ran <b>RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL</b> program but still in the job log finding some problems like <b>0BP_RELTYPES_TEXT</b> is not available in source system. Kindly help in this regard since this is a critical issue and we are not able to run our daily loads because of this.
Can any one also tell me if it is a migration problem?

Hi Sriram,
This is the First time ur loading data from that system, If yes u need to do full extraction steps like transfer data source in RSA5 ..etc.
After that u need to replicate those DS from their respective sources systems in BW.
After doing those all actions, then u need to run the program 'RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL'.
If u have multiple TS to be activated from one source system ---> u can enter Source system name and put * in Info source column after executing the program, it will activate all transfer structures which are linked to that source system at a time.

Error: "Component is not active" but component is active

Hi Experts,
I transported a Web Dynpro application from source system to target system. When starting the application via browser I'm getting this error message:
"Component XXX_BDB is not active"
But the component is active in source and in target system. When I try to activate the component in target system there comes this error:
Component XXX_BDB can't be generated because of errors: see long text.
(Message no. SWDP_WB_TOOL100)
According to the long text, there is a heavy error and I should check the component in order to eliminate the errors. Checking the syntax is OK and strangely, the component controller is also active. But when I want to start WebDynpro-Component, the error message "Component is not active" is displayed.
I have checked this thread [Problems when activating ComponentController |Problems when activating ComponentController; without any effect....
Does someone have any ideas?

where can I check the generation load limit?
I've done an extended syntax check (in source system, is that okay or should I do the check on both systems?), there are some errors regarding strings, field properties and structure extensions and some warnings regarding field properties.
But this errors are on an other wd component as well, but this other component is running, so I'm not sure if these errors are crucial. However I'm going to fix the errors now.
Baskaran, I will check the component controller and component usage as well but how can I identify the errors or should I just check it in general?
And what about the fact that both applications are running on the source system?
Additional info: the source system is ECC 6.0, the target system is Solution Manager 7.0
