BI Mobile Intelligence

Hi all,
I've created an table using WAD, which takes data from an BW query. If i try to open WAD output in the Blackberry simulator, the table data is not getting aligned properly.
Although we have tried the options "Output Optimization" (both checked and unchecked), we are not able to align properly.
Do anyone know the solution to align it properly.?
Thanks and regards.

I have been experimenting with this as well and been unable to render a table properly. I am not even seeing the table structure, just the data lined row after row. Which version of the simulator are you using i have also had different results depneding on the version of blackberry handheld software.

  • Web Reporting on Mac

How different is SAP BW BEx Web Reporting on Apple Macintosh (Safari, Firefox)?
    Thanks

    dear Rekha,
may behave differently, check following oss,
    recommended is
Business Explorer Browser in the Web
Java script is used to display the tree. The required Web Browsers are Netscape >= 4.6 and Microsoft IE >= 5.0.
For BW 3.5 and higher, the compatible web browser version is IE>= 5.5.
    hope this helps.

    Solution
    Web Applications
You can use different functions, depending on the type of browser. A browser identification is carried out on both the server and the client. For this reason, it is important that proxys or firewalls do not make any major changes to the user agent ID in the request.
Requirements for an unlimited range of functions
The full range of functions with context menus, snippet operations and the interactive navigation bar with maps can only be accessed using current browsers that support the DOM level 2 (with dynamic generation of DOM objects), ECMA-262 script, HTML 4.0 and CSS 1.0. The reference browsers here are the Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) and the Netscape Navigator (NS) in the current Windows implementations (MSIE 6.x and NS 6.x). Instances of these browsers on other systems such as Apple Macintosh or Linux may behave differently.
               Minimum requirements
Web Applications can be used with browsers that meet HTML 3.2 standards and support basic CSS 1.0 functions.
Browser variants and range of functions
Full context menu range of functions, flicker-free navigation and ad-hoc BEx Query Designer: IE 6.x, 5.x, NS 6.x
Context menu, but no dynamic loading of hierarchy branches with the Web item "Hierarchical context menu": IE 4.x, NS 4.x
Context menu display as its own Web page: Pocket Internet Explorer (mobile devices with Windows CE), Accessibility mode (suitable for the visually-impaired)
No context menu, only limited navigation via icons:
Very old browser Web (IE 3.0, Netscape 3), mobile devices (Palm, EPOC...)
Limited navigation: WAP-enabled mobile telephones and i-Mode-enabled mobile telephones
    Mobile-Intelligence-Rendering
Stylesheet information and scripts are embedded in the document on the server.
    EPOC: No script.
WAP: WML instead of HTML. WBMPs for charts.
    i-Mode: CHTML instead of HTML.
Web templates that contain corresponding Web items have only limited functions on the respective browsers.
For more details on the area of mobile intelligence, see Note 453142 "Information about BW BEx Mobile Intelligence"
    Repository metadata
The text part of the Metadata repository is based on HTML 3.2 and therefore can be used all conventional browsers with version >= 3.0.
However, the graphics (InfoCube star schema, data flow, query preview), are in a XML-based format (VML) which until now was only supported by Internet Explorer Version 5.
Business Explorer Browser in the Web
Java script is used to display the tree. The required Web Browsers are Netscape >= 4.6 and Microsoft IE >= 5.0.
For BW 3.5 and higher, the compatible web browser version is IE>= 5.5.

  • Mobile Business Intelligence - Study

    Hi everyone!
I’m studying Information Management at Tilburg University, The Netherlands and I’m conducting a mobile business intelligence (BI) research to earn my master degree. This research aims to measure mobile BI success by examining the net benefits and the related mobile BI capabilities.
I’ve developed a mobile BI survey to gather the data for my research, this survey is developed with the use of scientific BI literature, mobile BI expert recommendations and recommendations of BI professors.
I would like to invite every mobile BI user to participate in this research project. It will take you approximately 5 – 8 minutes to complete this survey. The questions are not difficult or boring.
    Survey: https://tilburgss.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_3BEvNHHP5w0Fp0V
You can be assured of complete confidentiality - no individual responses will be published, and the raw information will be accessible only to me and my supervisor (Professor) at Tilburg University.
Some incentives for the participants are:
    •     I will donate 1 dollar to the World Wide Fund for Nature for every completed survey;
    •     Participants can win 150 dollar;
    •     And participants can choose if they want to receive the results of this research.
In addition, this is an independent research, it is not sponsored or influenced by any mobile BI vendors and I’m conducting this research under the supervision of Tilburg University, The Netherlands.
If you have any questions regarding this research, please feel free to ask them.
Thank you for your consideration on this.

  • When will the SAP Mobile BI Android SDK to embed analytic views (Web Intelligence reports and Dashboards) in custom mobile Android App be supported/

    hi all,
SAP Mobile BI IOS SDK provides such SDK to embed analytic views (Web Intelligence reports and Dashboards) supported by the SAP BI application inside your own custom mobile applications, while Android SDK does not provide such sdk. I would like to know if there is any plan or roadmap to support this interface in Android SDK?

Thank you Vishwanath for your reply. We already developed an Android App, and just want to embed and open SAP BO report directly inside our own App, instead of launching SAP Mobile BI App.

  • SAP BI reports on mobile devices

    Hi experts
We need have some business intelligence (SAP BI) reports and metrics on our mobile devices (BlackBerry, Iphone, Ipad). For example: The mobile'users should enter a product ID and the report show the metrics relate with it availables in SAP BI.
We have BusinessObject products and we know about BOBJ tools to design our solution to mobile devices.
Can we use BO Mobile and BO Explorer simultaneously to show the reports on Blackberry and Mac Devices?
With BOBJ tools can we do a interactive report (to enter product key) ?
    Thanks for your help.
    Osmy

    Hi Osmy,
With the latest BI4.0, you will be able to use BI Reports on Blackberry (and nokia) devices (this was also available in XI3.x releases) . There is no iphone support yet - which maybe coming shortly in later releases.
As for Explorer, i* apps are already available - but not for blackberry as far as i know
You may already be able to run interactive (prompted) reports on blackberry. Below is a link on design best practices for reports on mobile

  • How to create a Real Time Interactive Business Intelligence Solution in SharePoint 2013

    Hi Experts,
I was recently given the below requirements to architect/implement a business intelligence solution that deals with instant/real data modifications in data sources. After going through many articles, e-books, expert blogs, I am still unable to piece the
right information to design an effective solution to my problem. Also, client is ready to invest in the best
infrastructure in order to achieve all the below requirements but yet it seems like a sword of Damocles that hangs around my neck in every direction I go.
    Requirements
    1) Reports must be created against many-to-many table relationships and against multiple data sources(SP Lists, SQL Server Custom Databases, External Databases).
    2) The Report and Dashboard pages should refresh/reflect with real time data immediately as and when changes are made to the data sources.
    3) The Reports should be cross-browser compatible(must work in google chrome, safari, firefox and IE), cross-platform(MAC, Android, Linux, Windows) and cross-device compatible(Tabs, Laptops &
    Mobiles).
    4) Client is Branding/UI conscious and wants the reports to look animated and pixel perfect similar to what's possible to create today in Excel 2013.
    5) The reports must be interactive, parameterized, slice able, must load fast and have the ability to drill down or expand.
    6) Client wants to leverage the Web Content Management, Document Management, Workflow abilities & other features of SharePoint with key focus being on the reporting solution.
    7) Client wants the reports to be scalable, durable, secure and other standard needs.
Is SharePoint 2013 Business Intelligence a good candidate? I see the below limitations with the Product to achieve all the above requirements.
    a) Cannot use Power Pivot with Excel deployed to SharePoint as the minimum granularity of refresh schedule is Daily. This violates Requirement 1.
    b) Excel Services, Performance Point or Power View works as in-memory representation mode. This violates Requirement 1 and 2.
    b) SSRS does not render the reports as stated above in requirement 3 and 4. The report rendering on the page is very slow for sample data itself. This violates Requirement 6 and 7.
Has someone been able to achieve all of the above requirements using SharePoint 2013 platform or any other platform. Please let me know the best possible solution. If possible, redirect me to whitepapers, articles, material that will help me design a effective
solution. Eagerly looking forward to hear from you experts!.
Please feel free to write in case you have any comments/clarifications.
    Thanks,
    Bhargav

    Hi Experts,
Request your valuable inputs and support on achieving the above requirements.
    Looking forward for your responses.
    Thanks,
    Bhargav

  • System is not creating in CMC the "Server Intelligence Agent"

    Windows Server 2008 Standard

    without integrated database,
I put it SQL SERVER for CMS and Audit, created from ODBC connection.
before installation whole checks were succeeded
Its make whole installtion fine... but,
when I go to check service in central Configuration Manager
    - Apache Tomcat
    - BW publisher Services
    - SAP BO Authenticaton Mobile server
    - SAP BO Processig Mobile Server.
the "Server Intelligence Agent" is not appearing.
I reinstalled many times, its always occuring.
Any1 can have a good solution for this?
    thanks
    regards

    Hi,
I have too experienced this problem in the past. Usually re-installation works , but keep in mind few things while re-installing:
    1) If possible do not install in C:/Program Files or C:/Program Files (x86)
    2) Always change the SIA name everytime you do a re-installation, and is possible SIA port too.
    Regards,
    Sonia

  • Dashboards html5 mobile not displaying correctly in IE10

    Hi,
We've recently put together a fairly large tabbed dashboard using Dashboards 4.1 SP4.  We currently don't have a SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform to publish the dashboard to so we have been publishing it through the export to PDF or html with embedded flash.  The problem is that as the dashboard is quite large it is taking around 30secs to load the embedded flash and then longer as you navigate between the tabs.
I saw this great post Making A Mobile HTML5 Dashboard: Follow-Up Q&A and have managed to get the html5 to run fine on a webserver we have available.  The HTML5 dashboard looks and runs as expected on Firefox (v32) and Chrome (v36) but it fails to display in IE10.  It displays the tabs and some text labels but doesn't display any of the chart components.
Can anyone help with why the html5 version is not displaying in IE10?  Or can anyone suggest a way of speeding up the loading times for the flash version?
    Thanks.

The issue is, if you save an Xcelsius (SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 4.1 Support Pack 4 Version 14.1.4.1327) as a HTML5 dashboard, it is viewable on a desktop PC using Chrome, Firefox etc. It is also viewable on Internet Explorer (version 10 & 11) on Windows 8, but only Internet Explorer 7, 8 & 9  on Windows 7.
The reason the dashboard doesn't display with the combination of Windows 7 with IE10 or IE11 is due to a bug in one of the SAP javascript libraries. The MSGesture object is not supported on Windows 7, but the code to detect that combination fails to detect the Windows 7 issue.
The sap.riv.modules.js file needs to be changed, as the test for window.navigator.msPointerEnabled is not enough. The code needs to be changed from:
    if (window && window.navigator && window.navigator.msPointerEnabled) {
    to
    if (window && window.navigator && window.navigator.msPointerEnabled && typeof(MSGesture) !== "undefined") {
It's a simple fix that other javascript libraries have had to make.
I've tried to raise this as an issue, but I'm told that HTML5 dashboards are not supported on the desktop, so it won't be fixed.
I'm now trying to escalate the issue.
