I have been trying to find an Apple help document about how to differentiate between eMac models.

Thank you for your help and for responding to my post.. The article you posted would have completely solved my problem, however, I, unfortunately, do not have access to serial numbers, and the serial number is mandatory for identifying eMac models in the article you posted. I appologize for not being more specific about exactly what I need.
You see, I am looking on eBay for a good, used, possibly older eMac for my mom. Unfortunately, nobody puts serial numbers in their eMac listings, so I can not properly identify and price compare different eMacs. eBay sellers only list such things as Model Name, Processor Speed MHz, SDRAM and Hard Drive GB, so I need a list to 'check against' like the iMac document. I am mostly trying to find out which eMac models came with DVD players, and also which ones are AirPort ready and AirPort Extreme enabled etc.
Would you happen to know if there's any such eMac model document?

Modeling document date in BPC MS...

BPC only has CHAR data type. I need to define an object that will store fields like document date, posting date etc. so that detail level transactions can be reported on by the dates. I am at a loss as to how to handle it in dimensions. Any advise?

Your question actually leads me to understand the data modelling, you wish to have.
Do you want to the posting dates different from the usual dates in the Time dimension?
The main idea is that you need to identify the transactional record, you wish to have. The number of fields in your transaction data should be equal to the number of dimensions in your application. So, if you want to have only one field in your transactional data for storing the dates, then you can go with the usual time dimension (you will have to maintain the appropriate master data in the time dimension). If you want to store the posting dates separately, then you need to have a separate dimension for that.

To load data from an SAP System we have IDoc, and ABAP Proxies, for this we require an Middleware tech, SAP PI is recommended as it come with pre-delivered object that can be used.

Unable to update rating (rating column) on host document using JavaScript Object Model API inside sharepoint hosted apps

We are developing SharePoint hosted apps for Office 365, for that we are going
to implement document rating functionality inside Sharepoint app. The host web contain document library (“Documents”) and from apps we need to rate each document. The rating functionality working fine with CQWP in team site using
JavaScript Object Model API.
But the same code is not working inside apps and giving error:-
If we are using app context than error will be:-
"List does not exist.
The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user."
And for Host context than error will be:-
"Unexpected response data from server."

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to update list column in SharePoint hosted apps using JavaScript Client Object Model.
Based on the error message, it seems not retrieve the list object in context. I suggest you debug the code step by step using Internet Explorer Developer Tools to
find the problem.

ESR modeling and Aris

Hi,
In our origination we are using Aris for the modelling of business processes. From what I am lead to believe is that Aris integrates with SAP Solution Manager and Solution manager integrates with the SLD. So landscape, software products and software component information can thus be pulled into Aris for use in models. This will greatly assist in the business process modelling in Aris, I would imagine.
Now once the business process is modelled in Aris, is there a way of importing it, as say a Procomp Model in the ESR?
Would you want to?
Or would you just continue to model in Aris and then pull in the interface logic into the models on the Aris side?
What is then the use of the modelling tool in the ESR?
Would you recommend that one should remodel the Aris Business Process Models in to the Modeling tool in ESR?
As you can see I am looking for some guidance in this regard.

The use of Modeling in ESR point of view
is In a service-oriented architecture of business applications, you ideally initially model your application prior to implementation. This means that you can answer fundamental questions such as what components the application comprises of, which services the individual components offer, and how the various different components interact with each other before you begin implementation. A governance process ensures that by using models, all services are always identified and defined in the same way, thus avoiding redundancies.
The models are not system-landscape-specific. Later on, they provide useful information when implementing services, as well as during any configuration that may be required. Furthermore, the models document different aspects of a business process, increase understanding of applications across departments and businesses thereby reducing costs when applications need to be changed or enhanced in a later release.
SAP they integrated ARIS modeling tool to develop Models,but i dont think so its possible to import ARIS models in SAP NetWeaver PI.But whatever models we developing in PI is based ARIS modeling only.
SAP works with this environment to create models for applications in the SAP Business Suite. These models are shipped to customers. You can create your own models in the ES Repository.

Document Management - store and retrieve

Currently we are running on SRM 4.0 with SRM 5.0 server and Netweaver 6.4. Our screens were developed using BSPs and running in SAP Portal 5.0 (soon to be 6.0, hopefully). What is the recommendation for storing and retrieving documents? There are SEVERAL postings on different sites, but not getting anywhere. Some of the postings contain specific function modules (like Bapi_document_create2, CVAPI, O_Document_) but were not found in our system. We did find CL_BDS_DOCUMENT, but found the following statement "SAP currently recommends not using BDS or DMF. Even use of the other Knowledge Provider services should be evaluated carefully." within this site's documentation under Knowledge Provider section. Can anyone refer us to some technical documents and hopefully sample code?

Your question is not easy to answer. There are different options to store and retrieve documents. First of all it depends on the functionality you need on your documents. Since I have no experience with SAP KM I can only talk about the options within SAP NetWeaver.
The SAP Knowledge Provider is divided into different part. The most basic part is the CMS API(Content Management Service) (All function modules starting with SCMS_*). This API allows the retrieval and storage of documents in terms of the SAP Knowledge provider document model where a document consists of components and each component corresponds to the content. With the CMS API you can store and retrieve those documents in a Content Server via the HTTP 4.5 interface.
Such a content server can be an external archive system that is certified for the HTTP 4.5 API (a list is provided by the ICC), the SAP data base or preferably the SAP content server (coming with SAP NetWeaver).
All document management services in SAP (SAP ArchiveLink, Business Document Service, SAP Records Management, Document Management System) are clients of the SAP Knowledge Provider CMS API.
Now, in order to model documents, the SAP Knowledge provider comes with the SAP DMS API. This DMS API is used to model complex document models (attributes, relations, ...) based on a so called content model that can be modelled via the document modeling workbench (DMWB). Here, the document management services mentioned above behave different. The SAP Knowledge provider is only infrastructure. This infrastructure has specializations using this infrastructure. Here are the most important ones I know about.
SAP ArchiveLink: This services offers the storage and retrieval of simple images and the service of linking those images to business objects. Those links are for example contained in the table TOA01.
So, the main focus here is to be able to navigate from a business object to the related images. It further has a workflow integration. The classical example is the invoice related to an FI document.
SAP ArchiveLink does not support any kind of document management functionality such as versioning and indexing. But, with the introduction of the SAP Document Finder, this can be done project specifically.
SAP ArchiveLink comes with a nice document viewer for viewing stored documents.
SAP Business Document Service: The business object serevice was designed to be a simple API for managing documents including simple versioning and indexing of images and documents.
SAP Document Management Service: This is the specialization with respect to PLM. So, DMS has the focus on engineering documents but can also be used to store other images and documents. SAP DMS offers document management functionalities such as check-in, check out of documents.
SAP DMS is using a classification service for classifying documents. It also has a very large BAPI API for the external access on those documents. As far as I know, SAP DMS is not part of SAP NetWeaver (therefore, you did not find CVAPI*).
SAP Records Management: SAP Records Management can be used for document management but is more than that.
Within Records Management it is possible to create hierarchical structures and to fill them with all kinds of documents. You can either integrate scanned images (via ArchiveLink) or you can use the SAP Records Management Document service provider offering some basic DMS functionalities such as versioning and indexing. The nice thing is that you can keep a whole structure of documents and even any other SAP objects such as business objects, transactions or URL's.
A typical application example is a HR personnel file. We've already done a lot of projects on that.
In the end, the choice of the document management infrastructure depends on the needs you have.
If you simply want to store and retrieve documents without any document management functionality ArchiveLink or simply the SAP CMS API will do.
If you need hierarchical structures for your documents and an integration with various business objects SAP Records Management would be a good choice.

Now, a last remark for web applications. Most of the GUI's of the upper applications are made for SAPGUI. So, here it is necessary to extend the SAP functionality by developing own applications. Since all services are using the CMS HTTP API for storing and retrieving the content you can always generate a URL for displaying the documents. Use SCMS_DOC_URL_CREATE for creating such a URL for example.

Adobe Camera Model / Calculate undistorted Point

I implented code to "undistort" an image with the parameter data from an .lcp file. For Reference i used the lensprofile_creator_cameramodel.pdf
When i compare a image undistorted with my implementation with an image un distorted with Lightroom there is a remarkable difference.
The Strange thing is: when i do the calibration again: with the undistorted images (for testing!). my own implementation has better erroir values than the images undistorted with lightroom. Another point which not seems to be logic for me is that the undistortion applied with Lightroom, when rising the scale factor, has an higher error value. It woulde be logic that the error value will be smaller.

Creation of DataSources

I am in a lab environment for BI7 ECC 6....trying to follow basic steps for ETL exercize in BW modeling document. I have no basis support and there are no other users in this lab.
Please if you don't feel like reading the whole thing just read part 1 below, I am just being as detailed as possible.
1: If I go into tcode SBIW, I am able to create a generic datasource only if I select an existing SAP-based Application Component. However it then does not appear under said application component when I browse or search for it after it has been saved.
2: If I try to create my own application component, on the other hand, and create the datasource using this created one (while in t code sbiw) I get a message "there is no application component x" (x=name of whatever application component I am using.
3: I tried a workaround: In the workbench when I go to create a datasource by clicking on the button for datasource at the top and I go to create a datasource I get the mssg "creation of datasources for the sap source system T90CLNT090 is not permitted"
I have tried: creating application components under sap-based application components as well as by themselves and nothing seems to matter.
Note: This problem seems sporadic, as I was able to finally create a datasource but after I replicated and activated it and went in to create a transformation, the datasource tables didn't show up at all on the left, only the table from the infoobject characteristic load.
I presently have no usable datasource and am starting from scratch.

I am editing this post because there have been changes:
1. Yes there are already standard datasources.
2. No I haven't done any initial settings...so I went to the Transfer Business Content DataSources thru sbiw but didn't see anything to select "execute"....so I try something...I went back Transfer Business Content DataSources and chose "content delta" and it says 'comparison bct <-> cust version ' then it counted thru several objects for a few minutes and finished with no warnings. then I selected each datasource under co-om-cca and activated those with no problems.
3. went to rsa 5 and again activated each datasource again for c0-om-cca.
i am still unable to see one of the two datasources i have created on the workbench but when i go to rsa6 both of my two datasources are showing.
when I try to create my generic datasource under my own application component it again does not recognise my application component so same problem...
4. when i try to create came generic datasource using co-om-cca application component i get mssg that it saved
5. but again when I look under the application component it is not there.
6. when i try to replicate datasources for t90clnt090 source system (rt click on source system name and select replicate datasources) it hangs up for several minutes and eventually my session terminates. it has always been like that.

Creating a relation between fields

This is my first use of Acrobat & Designer and I am having difficulty.
I want to create a relationship between a check-box field and a drop-down list field. I would like a specific value in a drop-down list to be shown when an adjacent check box field is selected.
I am not familiar enough with script writing to figure it out. I can't find any reference to such an option. I am sure someone much smarter than I must know the answer.
Also, is there a good reference book out there for LiveCycle Designer?

You can use the following script to do that:

What you need to do is for all the values in you drop down list, in the binding tab you need to assign values by clicking specify item values. So for my case above say I have a few countries listed, the item value for Canada in my drop down list is CA. So if my heckbox is ticked it will show Canada, if not it shows Albania and so on.
Does that make sense?

According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about adding attachments to list items in app.
To add attachment to list item in the host web, we should first get the list and the list items from the host web, then add the attachments to the list items.

Analog to Digital conversion of hi8 tapes

I have many hi8 video tapes that I have been trying to digitize so that I can import them into my imac. I have connected my analog hi8 camera to a Sony DSC-PC350 mini dv camcorder that has an analog to digital converter (pass through). In the VTR mode I can view my movies on the Sony camcorder. However, when I connect the Sony to the iMac with a firewire, I get a 'no tape' message on my iMovie screen. At the same time the video screen on the Sony camcorder goes blank. Can someone help me with this problem? Or is it possible that you cannot import a conversion on iMovie '09?

I also compared it to the manual of my TVR-330 which is a Digital8 camcorder and does have the pass through functionality. I did that to find the wording they use when talking about pass through (Sony never calls it "pass through"). All indications of the manual for your camcorder indicate you can input an analog signal and record it to digital tape. But nothing indicates you can use the camcorder as an A2D pass through device like you can with my Digital8 model.
So you will have to go through the two step process of first recording onto the MiniDV with tape. Then secondly importing it to the Mac. If you want to use that one.

Strange problem with bookmarks

Hi all,
Longtime user, first time poster, as they say.
Using InDesign 5.5, I am creating documentation for a software product and I have about 1600 pages of documentation split over three volumes. I'm using the Book function and to start with I have three standard documents in each book - ToC (with front cover), Intro, all the chapters as separate documents, then an outro (with outro text and back cover). I have use a single document as the basis for all these documents, which was created based on a previous version.
Most of the chapters work well, with their contents getting put in the single ToC at the start of the book however at the end of the PDF I have several bookmarks that are taken from the original document that I used as a basis. It isn't going to be easy to talk about this in the forum without showing you at least the PDF, but I'm not really willing to post my work online directly since it is commercially sensitive.
Attached is an image showing the Bookmarks panel of the PDF for one of the volumes, but since all are based on the same initial model document, all three have the same problem to a lesser or greater extent. You will see several "Introduction" groups that contain the same info as the ones that are opened.
Clicking on the bookmarks in these repeated Introduction bookmarks takes to the "right" place in the document in the sense that they are legitimate Introductions, just not a single generic bookmark. That's to say that although the bookmark text is repeated, each one takes you to a different introduction.
I've had a look in the binary for each document file and effectively there are mentions of things like "Preparing the Hard Drives for Basic Network Rendering", but there aren't in the docs inside InDesign or using Ctrl-Y (just in case).
Any ideas?

Replying to my own question, I'm sure this is just a patch over the problem rather than a resolution, but I have found that if I go to the page indicated by the "false" bookmarks and actually create a Table of Contents that I place off the page so it won't be seen in the PDF, all is well.
Posting this in case a) someone can give me a more correct solution and b) to help anyone faced with the same problem.
