BI-Portal integration problem

Hi Experts,
I've done the steps in Integrating BI and Portals. I've come across an issue where i initially setup a system as the BI mastersystem and then deleted the system and reassigned it to another system. I have alias SAP_BW on this new system as well. however when i run a query from query designer it still looks for the old system. Then as per note 919197 i removed all duplicate mastersystems and restarted. but i still have the same issue as BEx is still looking for the old master system. I get the error "child not found" and "Error while reading aliases" .
Could anybody please tell me how to sort this issue out.
thanks and regards
dilanke

Have you tried using this tool...
Note 937697       SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & Support Desk Tool
and Note 983156     BI configuration w. Template Installer
Also check these reports..
1. RSPOR_SETUP
1. Execute the report RSPOR_SETUP with transaction SE38 (or SA38; or you can execute the report from the SAP Reference IMG, see Documentation below)
2. Use value help of entry field Program ID (or RFC Destination) to choose __ as RFC Destination (this destination is created by the Template Installer)
3. Enter Portal SID (required to check step 10)
4. Press button Execute
2. RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN_70
Run Report RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN_70 and Enter Template ID 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN > Choose Program / Execute
Choose Analyse / Validate , Choose Analyse / Execute in Debug Mode ,A Web Browser is opened and you have to logon to the Portal. Finally, an empty Analysis Pattern (without data) should appear. After these tests you can continue your testing by creating and using your own Queries (with BEx Query Designer), Web Templates (BEx Web Application Designer) and Reports (BEx Report Designer).
hope it helps..

    A runtime error has occurred.
    Do you wish to Debug?

    Dear all,
I've created out BI system in our new Portal installation and tested the connection. Everything works fine. I added the certificate of the portal to STRUSTSSO2 in BI ABAP and assigned SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW to my Account.in BI. If I open the iView from the portal I get a BSP Exception with the message:
The used connection by the iView is to the ABAP-Stack of the BI-system not to the JAVA-Stack. Is that correct?

  • Enterprise portal integration with Oracle forms

    Hi
Can anyone help me on this .
"Enterprise portal integration with Oracle forms".
I want to integrate oracle forms to EP .I am trying to work with app Integrator but I am not able to make any headway.Do you have any documents pertaining to this or any place where I can look for details.
    Thanks
    Alok

    Hi,
i'm not aware of special integration feature with Oracle forms, but if as you said we are talking about a web application available via url then i see no problem doing so. the way you can implement the SSO is using something called Application Integrator which helps you build smart URL iView's that can use the portal framework (like systems, user profile , etc) , so you can build your oracle forms integration iView that will take the user password data from the portal (via system) using user mapping or sap logon tickets.
for more details on Application Integrator see
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/70/5a3842134bad04e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
regarding to the java applet, i don't really know what you mean by "jinitiator" but if your regular browser can do it then i see no reason for problems.
    i hope it helps

  • Portal integration with ISA

I would like to know the standard way ISA is integrated into Portal in a B2C scenario where a customer self registers himself on the Portal and then SSOs to ISA. Will the Portal User ID <b>have to</b> be something cryptic like the SU01 User ID ISA creates on the backend CRM server or is there anyway we can use the friendly alias? The biggest problem we are facing is figuring out how to authenticate SAP Portal using the Alias field of SU01 ISA user instead of the SU01 User ID and still be able to perform SSO to ISA.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
I would really love to hear from people who have worked on integrating SAP Portal with ISA (Internet Sales).
    Thanks,
    Krishna

    Hello All
I was just tasked with ISA and Portal integration and I do not know where to start.  We are not running any SSO yet.
I would like to configure if possible without this.  Any directions would help.

  • GRC 10.1 to Portal integration steps review

    Dear All
Could you let me know the below points for integrating the Portal with GRC 10.1 is correct?
    a. GRC Portal Plug-in is deployed on Portal
    b. Check if you can find the Web Service in WS Navigator on your Portal
    c. Go to "Maintain Configuration Settings“
Parameter 1022 and 1046 to be added for your portal connector
    d. create SM59 connection to point to portal.
    e. maintain connectors & connection types for portal.
    f. maintain connection settings for portal.
    g. maintain mapping for actions & connection groups.
    h. run sync program - GRAC_SCHEMA_UPDATE
    i. run rep obj sync.
    j. run auth sync.
    k. check table GRACUSER & GRACCRLCONN.
After doing the above my requirement is as below:
    a. Create Access request to provision users in Portal system using ARM.
    b. Enable GRC ARA & ARM links to show up in Portal screen (not NWBC) so that portal users can run risks analysis & raise access requests from portal than going into GRC NWBC screen.
let me know if i have missed any steps specific portal integration.

    Hi Neeraj,
Thx for your reaction. This unfortunately will not do the job as pasting the URL in the notification template will make it static. The problem is that the URL inserted by default is a dynamically created one which holds a variable pointer to a workflow object id.
Now i am researching if a custom build portal redirect application will do the job. But there must be others having the same problem if you want the GRC iview in the portal to be the 'one-stop-shop' for your GRC users...

  • Com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher slow in Portal

    Hi experts,
com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher is consistently showing as one of the slowest-running in our NW2004s SP16 Portal (non-Federated).  Even the report variable screen is slow to load especially on first-time access. E.g., 31.8 seconds first time, 5.9 seconds second access in same session.
But what is curious is that it sometimes the variable screen load time goes as low as 350ms if you keep trying within the same session.
We've done the obvious - patching the BI Web App components, tuning the portal & Java runtime, checking the JCOs, load-balancing, tweaked the BI backend... but without being able to impact the performance of this application substantially.
So I would value any suggestions for improvement!  Any tables we can cache?  Any SAP Notes to shed some light on this area?  Any Portal settings to tweak?
    Thanks, Marc

    Hi Marc,
Slow point are to com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher and
JCO connection. Would you please check CPIC_MAX_CONV in SAP Note 314530?
-Regarding of BI java on Web performance, would you please check the
    SAP Note 1022930?
SAP Note 1025307 is a summary notes for performance on Web.
Do you use antivirus software with a javascript  scanner, but still would you please also check the SAP Note 983066 because sometime this also may responsible for slow performance.
SAP Note 948158:  Performance problems/measuring BI Java Web runtime
One more thing would like to highlight:
In first acess it's slow because OLAP cache was not in use, but after the first execution it's loading the variable from the cache so it's comperatively fast then the previous acess.
Let me know, incase any confusion..
    Thank you,

  • Authentication issue with Xcelsius/Portal integration

I am facing an issue with the way we have integrated our Xcelsius dashboard with our corporate portal. I know this probably is more of a SDK question than Administration, but I figured I will ask it here anyway since Tim and some others are diverse enough in their knowledge base. This might be LONG post but please advise if anyone has any good pointers.
We have an Xcelsius dashboard that needs to be served up via our corporate intranet (based on MS Sharepoint 2007). Now we are NOT using the MS Sharepoint Portal Integration Kit, but just doing a basic integration of the SWF call within a web part on Sharepoint. All this means is that within a portlet (web-part) on Sharepoint, I am making a HTTP call to the openDocument URL to invoke the SWF file. So the SWF is actually served up from our Tomcat App Server, and displayed onto this frame within the portal. That is the basic idea.
To achieve this, what I did was write some custom code using the Java SDK to modify the openDocument a little bit. By doing so, I was able to insert some behind-the-scenes-login code wherein no matter who the portal user (Win AD-based) is, he is logged in to BOE as a generic "dashboard-user" and the dashboard is served up. This worked fine for the first dashboard where all we had was SWF and some WebI linking using openDocument (no full-InfoView access).
But in this second dashboard now, what we also have is a hyperlink for users to get to InfoView to do Ad-hoc reporting. What this does is open a child browser window from within the portal (dashboard) --- and it remembers the BOE session for the generic user id "dashboard-user" and logs the end-user in to InfoView using that. But what I actually want is that the end-users, on this new window, should only be prompted at the traditional InfoView logon screen where they can manually enter their Windows AD password and get in. Thus, I would like to keep the dashboard SWF page session separate from the InfoView ad-hoc session, which I cannot seem to do because of the browser relationship and session maintenance.
I am trying to find a way where I can simulate a single sign-on for dashboard viewers on the portal, but at the same time let them jump off to InfoView as themselves.
Any thoughts on how I can do this?
    Notes:
We DO NOT have Single Sign-On enabled for InfoView
We are using Windows AD authentication (manual, no SSO)
    We are on Tomcat

    Sarang Deshpande wrote:
    1) If the InfoView app on Tomcat (desktoplaunch) is configured with Vintela, openDocument calls from the portal with automatically work using behind the scenes SSO, correct?
in XIR2 everything that falls under infoview should SSO when infoview is setup for SSO (not the case in XI 3.x)
    Sarang Deshpande wrote:
    2) What is the best practice when it comes to the service accounts needed? I have implemented Windows AD manual auth already so I have a service account that use for that. Should I be using the same on and making vintela/SSO-specific changes to it...or should I have a separate vintela service account and deal with two different ones..each for a diff purpose?
There is no best practice per se but the less service account the lower your chances to duplicate an SPN, functionally everything seems to work just as well with multiple as it does with 1 (of course with 1 there is less management work) If you click the SSO link in my forum sticky post I have a section explaining this with some suggested methods of deploying a service account(s)
    Sarang Deshpande wrote:
    3) Other than some minor browser configurations that might be required, is there anything else that I should communicate to the team about what might be required to be "pushed" to users' PCs?
Using the default config nothing should be required on the client machine (unless SSO has been disabled in the browser or you intend to use a url that contains a period ..... (i.e. FQDN or IP) with hostname URL (the default) it should just work.
To note if you have XP SP2 or older there is a microsoft spnego bug you may need to apply a fix if you aren't patched to SP3 (about 5% of our customers run into this).

    2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
      Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
Whether i should install the BO Integration kit in EP portal also or any Portal Inetgration kit is available.
    Regards
    Bala

    Hi,
    1. Whether Integration kit for SAP should be installed in EP Server also ( which has been installed in BO server for BI and the SSO for BI and EP STRUSTSSO2 also works fine.
    - the portal is acting as the frontend for viewing content and yes there needs to be trust between your portal and your BW system
    2. the connector parameter and the iview template object parameter as correct as per the distributed enviorment.
When i checked with portal; admin they asked doubt what should be crystal enterprise server ( BO) and the what is the server should connector parameter should have.
    - the Crystal Enterprise parameter do not influence the connector properties and do not lead to the point that the connector settings fail. the Crystal Enterprise parameters are only relevant when viewing SAP BusinessObjects related content.
Make sure you connector settings work even without the Crystal Enterprise parameters first.

  • Portal integration with E-Business and Discoverer 10g

    Hello Everyone,
We have a R12 integrated with SSO/OID. We also have a standalone Oracle BI Discoverer 10g. We want to implement Oracle Portal here. One of the requirements of this project is to have a common home page for both E-Business Suite login as well Discoverer access. Right now E-Business Suite login is seperate and Discoverer home page is seperate (because it comes from a Standalone installation)
    1) What are the benefits of having AS Portal 10g for end users ?
    2) To begin with, we would like to go with the minimum portlets.
    3) Is it possible to have a common home page for both E-Biz access and the Discoverer acess after Portal integration ?
    4) Do you have some screenshots of how things look after Portal integration

  • BO Portal Integration for SSO

    Hi
We are currently doing the BO Portal Integration
We are using BO 3.1 and Portal 7.01 and the Integration Kit is 3.1
We want to integrate Portal with BO
I am following the following link for integration
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CreateBOEXI3.1IntegrationKitiViewTemplateintoSAPEP+Portal
In that step 19 they have mentioned the details of Connector during System creation
We are not using SAP BI, the BO gets its data from rapidmart and BO users are created on Windows Active Directory.
So when the users are being created on windows AD how do we populate the values in the Connector of the System Creation
    beacuase the step 19 says
From the Property Category list select Connector. Your selections determine the SAP ABAP system that will be validating the users. This is the system that you have defined previously as an entitlement system in CMC. Configure the values for Application Host, Gateway Host, Gateway Service, SAP client, SAP System ID (SID) and SAP System Number according to the SAP system.
Can someone please let me know regarding this and how we do the SSO between Portal and BO
As our user validation is not SAP ABAP system but Windows AD
