BI portal on ABAP netweaver trial

Hello,
  Is it possible to instal/create/setup a BI portal on the ABAP netweaver trial ?
  Everything seems to work fine except the portal.
  Any idea's ?
Regards

Hi You should be able to Install the AddIn Java (SCS,dbschema, & Central Java) using SAPINST along with usage type Portal and EPCore to get BI Portal up. Also if you are already past SP 12 on the ABAP side you can use JSPM to install the UT types, OSS Note 883948. I am talking of regular Netweaver stack, don't know if the Netweaver Trial is a different product.

    Hi,
    Does anybody know whether it is possible to configure ADS in the ABAP Netweaver Trial. If so, how?
    kind regards Maarten

    Is it possible to install both the ABAP netweaver trial and the JAVA netweaver trial. If so, I already installed the ABAP Netweaver Trial, how can I install the Java Netweaver Trial besides the ABAP stack. How can I avoid that I get error messages because I already installed a SAP system and a database?
    kind regards Maarten

    Hi
    it seems sapinst try to reach message server using port  3900, but cannot.
    - Have you sure the message server is up and running?
    - Maybe port 3900 is block by network, or in use in the affected systems?

  • SAP NetWeaver 70 - Java and ABAP VMware Trial.part02.rar CRC error?

    HI,
    I've downloaded the file:
    SAP NetWeaver 70 - Java and ABAP VMware Trial.part02.rar
    of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Java and ABAP Trial Version on Linux - VMware Edition
    four times and everytime a get a CRC error in the RAR file. Is the file wrong or the download incorrect?
    Regards, Edwin Slee

    Hi Henry.
    I’ve downloaded the file again. Now it is called:
    SAP NetWeaver 70 - Java and ABAP VMware Trial.part02.tgz
    But it is a RAR file.
    As you suggested I open the file with WINRAR 3.61 and select
    Tools -> repair archive
    In the directory a file:is created with the name:
    rebuilt.SAP NetWeaver 70 - Java and ABAP VMware Trial.part02.tgz
    The WINRAR message box reads:
    Detecting archive type...
    ---> RAR
    Build fixed.SAP NetWeaver 70 - Java and ABAP VMware Trial.part02.tgz
    Searching for recovery record
    ---> recovery record not found
    Build rebuilt.SAP NetWeaver 70 - Java and ABAP VMware Trial.part02.tgz
    Found SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s002.vmdk
    Found SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s003.vmdk
    Found SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s004.vmdk
    Found SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s005.vmdk
    When I open this file with WINRAR again a try to extract
    SLES10SP1_Test_drive(2)-s003.vmdk I still get a CRC error, the archive file is corrupted.
    I think the error isn’t due to the download, because I’ve downloaded the file using three different internet connections (8 times now) and all the files are identical, with a CRC error !

  • HCM in NetWeaver Trial Version

    Hi Experts,
    We are trying out with the Netweaver Trial version in our Team. ABAP and EP are working fine. As per the manual it is  mentioned that HCM is also included. But as such I see no signs of HCM in it and the T-codes does nt seem to exist. Is there any integration to be done for the same???
    Pls guide me on this..
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Abap 703 trial - can't configure web dynpro to work - reverting back to 702

    Hi there
    whatever I do I can't get Web dynpro to work in ABAP 703 trial -- WDY compiles etc - but always get IE explorer cannot find page when I try and run the WDY, -- I've activated all the SICF services and done the profile changes (RZ10) but still no good.
    I've gone back to Abap 702 version which DOES work (even on W8 X-64)
    The main reason for downloading this was to test and play around with Web Dynpro -- I'm past basic ABAP and OO stage !!!
    If anybody has got Web dynpro in the 703 trial working PLEASE POST what you did.
    Also there doesn't seem to be any software for manipulating the database (or adding volumes) like there was in the 702 release (DBM76.EXE). The documentation says use DB studio -- but WHAT do you do --there's no connect to the SAP DB.
    I'm afraid even by SAP's OWN standards of documentation ||(usually if it exists is very obtuse) this trial version must take the record for "Helpful and relevant documentation:".
    If you want to experiment with Web dynpro the documentation on how to set it up is fine for the 702 release so I suggest you stick to that until someon has worked it out for 7.03
    Cheers

    Hi Alexander,
    Thanks for sharing the solution , I did all the steps mentioned in the link http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/30129979-011c-2e10-fb9b-a60e0d704c1d?QuickLink=index&…
    The option mentioned by you was the only additional thing missing
    Trial version : ABAP 703 64 bit.

  • Full ABAP Edition-Trial: no installation of maxdb???

    Hello to all,
    I installed "Full ABAP Edition-Trial" some days ago and everything worked fine without any problems. Windows on partition H: and programs (like sap and sapdb) on partition L:.
    Because of an other problem I had to reinstall Windows on H:. I deleted the subfolders L:\SAP and L:\sapdb. to get a clean world for sap.
    I start the installation process and setup asks me the path to install sap. I enter "L:\SAP". In the next screen it asks me about the database master password. I enter my password. In the next screen the setup tolds me to install the components MaxDB to L:\sapdb and application server to L:\SAP\NSP. Total Size: 18823.1 MB needed (By the way: I have 40 GB free).
    I press the install button and installation process runs without errors. Then (after 2 minutes!) I get the screen that tolds me "The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed SAP Netweaver 2004s ABAP Trial Version.".
    So I start the SAP Management Console and start the instance. The icons become green and I see for example that the processes msg_server.exe and dispwork.exe are running. Dispwork.exe stops after a few seconds.
    Looking to the system log I see "Communications data: Service initialization failed" and some "SAP-Basis System: Initialization           DB-Connect Failed, Return Code  008192" messages.
    When I press the database icon in the the SAP Management Console, I get a screen "page could not be displayed".
    So it seems like a database problem. I look to the windows explorer and there is only the SAP-folder (with 341 MB). THERE IS NO SAPDB-FOLDER!!!
    I can't find an installation-log to see if there were problems (No log.txt at SAP\NSP).
    I deinstalled everything with deinstaller, run some registry cleaner and also installed a clean windows at H:, but everytime the same. I find note 572836 (Deleting SAPDB Registry entries and services) but it doesn't help.
    I know when I installed SAP the first time (where it worked fine), I had not to install the microsoft loopback adapter. So I tried the installation with and without the adapter. No success!!!
    I get crazy about it... Perhaps there is something wrong about the preinstalling environment: I download the two files SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part1.rar and SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part2.rar to the folder L:\downloads. Then I unpack only the first one SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part1.rar in the same folder. Then there is a new folder SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part1. This one contains a folder SAPNW2004sABAPTrail. There are some folders and files. I change to the folder images. There I start the setup.exe (but before I installed the lookback adapter).
    I'm a little bit irritated about the files SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part1.rar and SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part1.rar. The first one has a size of 1536000KB and the SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part2.rar has a size of 1249739KB. Just for analyze I unpack the SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part2.rar-file and see that it has exactly the same structure like SAPNW2004sABAPTrail_part1.rar!!! Also the size of the unpacked files are the same. Is this normal???
    So, that's my problem: No database here. Anyone here who has an idea? Please help me. I really need ABAP here!!!
    Kindly regards,
    Andy

    I have found the InstallationSteps.stat and install.log. Everything seems to be installed successfully, but no database is mentioned :-(. Here are the two files.

  • Empty Objectlist in ABAP Workbench (Trial version) after installation

    Hi,
    In ABAP Workbench/Object Navigator I (BCUSER) don't see the dropdown control (object list). The slot containing the objects is empty and disabled.
    The system state is after new installation of the Trial version without any problems or errors, no changes have been made.
    Any help is appreciated.
    regards
    Michael

    Hi Subhash,
    My version of SAPGUI (from DVD) is 640 and up to date. To be sure I downloaded the last version from sdn (Full ABAP edition trial, SAPGUI only). The installation wizard has detected, that I have the latest version installed.
    The SAP version is Netweaver 2004s 7.00 SP8 (from same DVD).
    Any other idea?
    thankyou very much!
    regards
    Michael

    thanks,

    Hi Tanmaya,
    Question: How to find whether the port is blocked or not?
    (A) You can check the message server port in txn SMMS or dev_ms trace in ST11 to verify if the port is correctly set. If it is and you cannot connect to the message server then you will need to find out which program/service is occupying port 3900. So please follow the steps below:-
    (A1) On Unix there is a program called LSOF available which shows ALL programs that occupies all ports. SAP Note [164937|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_bc_cst/~form/handler%7b5f4150503d3030323030363832353030303030303031393732265f4556454e543d444953504c4159265f4e4e554d3d313634393337%7d] shows were you can get this program.
    (A2) On Windows the equilivent of LSOF is Process Explorer from the Sysinternals Suite. This is available on the MS website [here|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb842062.aspx]. You can use this to filter by port.
    So using these programs you will be able to see which programs occupy all ports on your server and either remove or disable them.
    P.S. You can use SAP Note [421359|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_bc_cst/~form/handler%7b5f4150503d3030323030363832353030303030303031393732265f4556454e543d444953504c4159265f4e4e554d3d343231333539%7d] to bind any port to any service on Unix including "protected" ports !!!
    Hope this helps

  • SSO Help - Portal to ABAP via logon tickets

    Hi All,
    I've done this configuration in the past but it seems that the process has changed a bit and I'm in need of some advice.
    I have a portal system which I've setup SSO. The SSO is done through Kerberos and the users are pulled from LDAP. Users login to their windows account, they hit the portal without having to login again, perfect. I used the new SPNego setup wizard to do this.
    Now the issue I'm having. Portal user ID's are not the same as ABAP ID's. I have used a blank attribute in Active Directory (specifically "extensionAttribute7") to fill in the ABAP user ID's. I have modified the data source XML file in the portal to look like this:
    <nameSpace name="$usermapping$">
    <attributes>
    <attribute name="REFERENCE_SYSTEM_USER">
    <physicalAttribute name="extensionAttribute7" />
    </attribute>
    </attributes>
    </nameSpace>
    I have changed the UME property to look like this:
    ume.usermapping.refsys.mapping.type = attribute
    When I try to access an SAP report through the portal I get the error:
    The initial exception that caused the request to fail was:
    Ticket contains no / an empty ABAP user ID (see note 1159962)
    My ABAP system is setup to create and accept logon tickets. Certificates have been exchanged on both systems (checked through NWA). It looks like the saplogonticket isn't picking up the ABAP user ID that I've stored in AD and mapped to in the XML file.
    In the Java system, my logon ticket stack looks like this:
    EvaluateTicketLoginModule SUFFICENT
    SPNegoLoginModule OPTIONAL

    Hi Arjun,
    No I'm not using user mapping. I want to pass my ABAP user ID from an attribute I'm using in Active Directory. For some reason the sap logon ticket isn't picking up my username from the attribute when I try to go from portal to ABAP.

    You are using an LDAP directory as a data source for the User Management Engine (UME). The user IDs for ABAP systems are already available in the LDAP directory. You no longer need to define a user mapping for each user, as the data is already available in the LDAP directory.
