Hi,
Could you please let me know the OS.
If the OS is AIX ..
Please use following commands
ICPS  | grep -i <SID>
using the command ipcrm ... you have to clean memory sigments ..
ipcrm   <-q or -s or -m  options > process ID..
or
Restart server

  • Production Down Time costs.

    Hi all,
1.How to record Production order down time when a workcenter is down.  The reason for this is to find out how much time the production order is delayed because of  machinary problem. does that cost should go to Production Order or to Cost Center. If Cost center how to post the cost directly to Cost Center.
    Thanks
    Sivaram

    Hi,
When a workcenter is down, the cost center must already be accruing the expenses involved. For instance, let us say a work center is down for a day. For that day, the labor, utilities expenses etc.. involved must already be getting collected in the cost center, to which the work center is assigned.
Alternatively, if you want to allocate those costs to the production order, you should book the entire activities (say actual labor time) consumed, i.e say if the downtime is one day book the entire 24 hrs to the order.  The activities in turn would post OH to the order, if OHs are calculated based on activities.
But in many cases the  downtime may not have been caused by the prodn. order. It is the cost center which would have been responsible for the downtime.. So, the option of leaving the costs to remain the cost center is better. The additional costs incurred will show up in the cost center as variances.
    Hope this helps.

  • Transporting Process Chains from Production DOWN to QA and Dev

    Hello,
We have a ton of Process Chains in Production.  I am looking for the easiest and most efficient way to duplicate those in QA and DEV.
What steps do I take to Transport them DOWN to the other two environments?  Are there any pros or cons to doing this, or is it easier in the long run to just re-create them in those environments?  Like I said, we have a ton!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
The best practice is to have every development done in Dev then transport to QA and then to P.
If you are not following this process for PC you should.
Also, every now and then QA should be refreshed (meaning, copy P to a new QA system and by doing so all the data and config (including PC) will be in the QA system).
I would recomend to recreate the PC in DEV and transport them thru the landscape.  This way you have the correct process where every Development is starting on the DEV sys and moves to QA->P.

  • Change in Development environment brings Production down !!!!!!!!!

    Hello Everyone,
I am stuck here in a strange issue. Our planning application went live about a month ago. Now we are trying to migrate the Essbase reporting application to Production, but we are unable to do so for following reasons -
1.As soon as we try to expand the user list in development EAS, production essbase crashes. Doing the same thing in Production EAS makes essbase crash. It generates a xcp file. We contacted oracle support, they advised a patch which fixed this issue.
    2. But here's another problem, now when we are trying to migrate an application from dev to prod, prod essbase crashes all the time.
We are using the same active directory for users in dev and prod. Is that a part of the problem?
Some days ago, one of the admin changed the admin password in shared services, but didnt change it in planning (RDBMS and Essbase Connection). It broke the planning forms. So we restored the older password again and all the applications and forms are working in Dev. But does that ring any bells?
Oracle Support is slow and isnt of much help. Please help me out if you faced the same issue and were able to resolve it.

I am not sure where this repository is. Is there a way to check if it was cloned.^^^Based on your original post, I am guessing this is an 11.1.2.x install. Is that correct? 11.1.2.0 or 11.1.2.1? Or even 11.1.1.3? If so, did you use Lifecycle Management (LCM) to migrate the application from development to production? Or did you use some other approach?
Or did you use EAS' Migration Wizard?
Pre LCM, migration was a nightmare for anything other than Essbase with databases/schemas being migrated across environments, hacks to the migrated tables, etc., etc. In Planning there was a CopyApp that I personally never had a lot of luck with. I just rebuilt the apps in the new environment -- not exactly a migration, but it worked. Hopefully today no one would do anything like this -- I have migrated Essbase and Planning apps across environments without issue (it needs to be sequenced in Planning, but is otherwise easy). Hopefully no one would use the migrate schema approach today.
Do you know if LCM was used? Or even the olde-fashioned Migration Wizard? Were it my app I'd have all of the security assignments tied up in MaxL statements that I could easily port from one environment to the other, but that's just me.
    Regards,
    Cameron Lackpour
P.S. I now fully expect John Goodwin/someone else smarter than me to jump in and tell me where I'm wrong on the schema migration and how it actually isn't all that bad but really, for us mere mortals, LCM does everything we need. :)

    JRE 1.3.1_05
3 applications written in Java with JSP front end interfaces running on IIS
We have a situation that our javaw process associated to our JSP apps will error out with JavaOutOfMemory, and our users get the '500 HTTP Internal Server Error'. So far, we have performed the following tasks to resolve this problem:
    1) Java code analysis (ensuring un-used objects' memories are marked for gc).
    2) We have specified the heap sizes (-Xms 256M, -Xmx512M) and (-Xincgc) as a part of the Java parameter.
All of our efforts still cannot prevent this problem from recurring. We have also implemented -verbose:gc to generate the output. Our appls will run fine until the output shows back to back FULL GC, and the live object sizes remained unchange. (see below of our output file sample)

If you are getting an out of memory error then it generally means you are running out of memory.
Now if you have no leaks in the system then it means that your load is too high for the resources that you are allocating. You either increase the resources or you throttle the system so it can't run out.
Since you profiled the application under load, it should not be possible for it to be a leak in java. It could be a leak in the JVM. If it is then you have to reduce to the problem, report it as a bug, and then try to find a work around.

  • Down Time When we swap Cloud service Staging and Production

    Hi Team,
Any one help me to know.
What will be the downtime while we doing the VIP Swap of Staging Production environment (Cloud service - web role / worker role)?
Cloud service in Production down time.
    Thanks in Advance.

Because of update domains, if you have more instances for your roles, each role's instance that is part of one update domain will be updated during that update domain's update, so there is absolutely no downtime.

  • Is it possible to transport an object from Production to DEV?

I have some queries and workbooks in Production that I would like to archive.  I have not been able to find a method to archive, so I am wondering if I can transport the queries and workbooks from Production to DEV?  I realize the queries may not execute, but so long as I can open them up and see their definitions in DEV, I will be satisfied.
I know this sounds a little bizarre, but is it possible to transport anything from Production to DEV?
    Thanks!

    hi
Yes. its possible but its not recom
you can set in production system to allow changes to obj rsa1->transport connection->click 'object changeability', and look for object type , and set to changeable.
    pls refer these below posts

  • How to do a complicated case statement

In my windows form program a user can create an invoice for customers. In order to load the products to create the invoice, I need to make an sql stored procedure that takes the products from the products table. The problem is that there is something called
pricebooks in which a specific customer or group of customers can get a special price for a specific item and then when loading the products for the invoice if this customer has a special price it should put in the special price, if this customer belongs to
a group that has a special price it should show that price else it should show the regular price for that item from the products table. How would I do that? I tried something and for any row that it had a customer and item matching in pricebooks as well it
    put that product down twice.
    SELECT ITEM, DESCRIPTION, ONHAND, CASE WHEN P.CUSTOMER = @CUSTOMER THEN P.PRICE WHEN C.PRICEGROUP = P.PRICEGROUP AND P.CUSTOMER = @CUSTOMER THEN P.PRICE ELSE I.PRICE END AS PRICE, COST, RETAIL FROM INVENTORY I LEFT JOIN PRICEBOOKS P ON I.ITEM = P.ITEM LEFT
    JOIN CUSTOMER C ON C.PRICEGROUP = P.PRICEGGROUP
The pricebook table can have either a customer with the item that has a special price or a pricegroup with an item that has a special price and in the customer table some customers have that pricegroup. (can be many pricegroups).

  • NI: Get to grips with Fundamental LV Shortcomings.

I am not new to software. Having done my fair share of traditional, and, for the last 15 years, OO development I have used quite a few tools and
programming languages: C, C++, Smalltalk, Java, Eiffel, C# and also written my own programming langauge. The most professional Programming
Environment I have ever seen is Eclipse (Java Programming Environment) (www.eclipse.org) which again has inherited it's  powerful ideas and tools from
    Smalltalk envrioments.
I have used LabView for shorter periods in several of its incarnations.  I recently finished a fairly large Realtime Control Project  using version 8.2 and the
State Diagram Toolkit. (see this thread: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=234831).
LabView is a very powerful environment, but like most environments it has its shortcomings. And now we are getting closer to what this thread is all about:
** Navigating Source Code ** (Search & Replace  / Find References to objects / Instances)
    Fundamental Search
The problem is: Many of these issues are ** fundamental ** and easy to fix, but nothing seems to be done about them! I recently upgraded to version 8.5,
and expected the ** fundamental ** lack of the ability to search for references to my Shared Variables to be fixed. But I was terribly dissapointed, and to be
    honest:
If a developer cannot Navigate his / hers code, she / he is not in controll of the developed software!
I have never before seen a programming enviroment that has no feature whatsoever to find References to Variables used in a Program! Unnecssary to say,
this is an absolutley fundamental tool for any programmer: In text based languages you of course have text bases searches, which are crude, but it does the
job. In Eclipse you can even search for where variables are Assigned to, or Read from! (The search is actually searching the Parse Tree).
However, there is not even a Text Based search for Shared Variables in LabView 8.0 to 8.5 and all its intermediate upgrades!
I have spent countless hours using the extremely crude, cumbersome and time waisting method of deleting the Shared Variable and thereby getting a
compliler error showing me where the variable is used: Then I have to close my project withouts saving,  reopen the project again and get back to where I
was working. None of this time can be billed to my clients.
Yes, I know LabView in the meantime has received a host of powerful features. But this is fundamental feature would take any of NI's highly qualified
developers a few hours or a day or two to fix.
So why isn't it implemented? I bet NI's developers miss it as much as the next guy.
I guess this fundamental feature does not look so good on the Marketing Peoples brochures, so they figure NI's developers should spend their time on new
features that they can promote and use to get us to upgrade: Guess what: I will wait a very long time until I ugprade again.
    The LabView Search Dialog
The Search Dialog miss one important feature: The ability to Point at any VI / object in a Block Diagra, to say "this is the type I want to search for".
Often I cannot find the type I want to search for in the lists the Search Dialog is presenting.
Other times I simply do not know what the type is, and where to find it, but I am looking at it in an open Block Diagram!
    Enter the StateChart Module
As I said, we used the StateDiagram Toolkit to develop our Control System: 9 Processes each running their separate State Diagram on a cFP 2120 system.
The StateDiagram Toolkit is very basic: Not able to resize any state circles or even move more than one at a time: It has been like this for  more than two
years. However, we are in control of the generated code, and could find references to my VIs in the generated code.
The StateChart Module is an implementation of the UML StateChart Implementation. Going through the Tutorial I was quite impressed.
However, yet again the lack of the ability to search for References to important Resources lets the product down:
    a) Not possible to Find references to where in the Diagram any Trigger is used.
    b) Not possible to Search for any used instance / object within a Diagram: Objects / Instances used within the Diagram does not even show up under the
    "VIs by Name list"
    c) Text Searches possible, but matches are found in generated code and ** not ** in the Diagram.
The generated code has no link whatsoever back to the Diagram.
I will post another thread with the shortcomings I have found in the StateChart Module and some ways to circumvent these shortcomings.
Upgrades: What about Tools Developers used in previous versions?
It is very important for developers to know what happens to the tools they are already using when upgrading to a new version.
We used the State Diagram Toolkit for thje project we just finished. However, I could not find any words about what happened to this Toolkit in version
8.5! Developers cannot upgrade without knowing that tools they are using are still working.
We did not upgrade to version 8.5 during our project, but stayed with version 8.2. And I am glad we did: After the project ended, I moved the source code
to version 8.5. Everything worked and the cFP 2120 code was also running: However, the performance had deteriorated with > 33%. See this link:
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=275320
Question: What about the Next LabView Release?
It has taken Natioanl two decades to produce a very capable development system. However, it only takes the introduction of a few more features where the
Programmers do not have Navigation Control (ability to search & find / replace) to bring the productivity of this product down to its knees.
I certainly hope that NI in the next LabView Release concentrates on fixing these and other Naviagion shortcomings (rather than introducing features) to bring
LabView up to the Speed an Productivity that it is capable of: NI got the engineers to do it: Give just give them the time to fix the problems!
Can we please have NI's dedication to fix these easy to fix issues and thereby give back Navigational Control to us, the Developers ?
Please, I do want to continue to impress my clients with what LabView can do, in a short amount of time !
    Geir Ove

Most of the "shortcomings" that LV exhibits arise from NI trying to placate people such as yourself who have no idea about how to go about creating a good LV-based application. In terms of specific responses I truly don't know where to begin with your points. To begin with, its clear that despite your years of experience working in other languages you don't know squat about developing in LV. For example, you start with the assumption that using dozens of named variables is a good thing! Did it ever occur to you that if you are having this hard a time with maintaining an application that there might be something fundamentally flawed in your design - no of course not - it's easier to blame the tool.
LV is an ideal environment to develop very large applications - as has been shown time and again. However, you must keep it straight that there is no correlation between complex code and complex functionality. Unfortunately, most people thing there is. They believe that to have complex functionality they need really complex code. As a result they write an incredibly bad implementation of something that is essentially a simple process. Starting from this faulty example they then try to extrapolate what it would take to create a large application and immediately assume that LV is only for "small" projects.

  • 10.4.11 - help upgrading memory

    Hello!
I have a 2006 imac (I believe it is considered early, but I purchased it in May 2006). I've always had one memory slot empty and 1GB of memory in the other. This past May my hard drive crashed and I replaced it, and now I'm starting to notice that it has been running slowly, especially when using iphoto, and so I would like to add 1GB of memory to the empty slot. I tried purchasing memory from the apple store, but they no longer have memory for my model and I'm not really sure how to find the correct memory for my computer. Here is the overview:
    Model Name: iMac
    Model Identifier: iMac4,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
    Processor Speed: 1.83 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: IM41.0055.B08
    SMC Version: 1.1f5
    Serial Number: QP61609WV4M
Could someone please tell me what memory I need and where I can find it? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Also - I'm interested in upgrading my OS to leopard or snow leopard - with the 2GB of memory will it run well on my computer? My hard drive is 350 GB and I'm only using 80 GB. If so, can I just purchase the $29 disc or do I have to purchase the $169 pack?
    Thank you!

    any experience with that site?
Limited experience with them, & likely their IntelMac RAM is OK.
The guy at the store told me it is closest in quality to memory directly from Apple.
Of the RAM I've had go bad, all but one stick was original Apple RAM, to be fair when they come out with new models they're generally using the newest/latest/fastest at that point, & manufacturing may not have production down pat until later.
will anything on my computer be wiped out, or is it an easy install?
No, SL defaults to what we used to call Archive & Install, which preserves all your stuff, just new OS & new of some Apple Apps.
Just be sure to Open Disk Utility & Verify the Drive first, (not Verify Permissions).
I'm debating on whether to upgrade it or not because I love tiger, I'm just frustrated that I cannot buy a new ipod, an ipad, Adobe CS5 or the magic mouse because none of those things will run on Tiger.
Yep, if you need any of those things, SL is a must then, but I prefer Tiger myself & have no need of any of those.

  • Switching between scripts in Advanced actions very slow on Mac OS X

    Hi,
I've been experiencing a problem with Captivate taking an inordinate amount of time (approx 30-40 seconds) to switch between scripts in the Advanced Actions window. This happens incrementally as create/duplicate scripts and switch from one to the other. After switching about 4 to 5 times, the wait extends to 30-40 seconds. The rest of Captivate is unaffected, i.e. no delay issues when adding statements to a script, or working with other features in Captivate. I called Adobe Support but they said it is the first time they heard about this issue, although they seemed to suggest that Captivate is "slower" on the Mac. For comparison's sake, and to check if there was anything wrong with the project file itself, I tried using a trial version on a PC running Windows XP (using the same project file) and I experienced no issues, and switching between scripts remained constantly quick even after several hours working on a project.
This particular project requires a lot of scripting and this issue has ground my productivity down to a halt having to wait 30-40seconds just to switch between scripts. Adobe suggesting "removing programs" from the Mac to speed up affairs, but I don't think there is anything wrong with the machine as it runs other Adobe software, like InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat without any issues. In addition, while the switching is being processed, OS X doesn't hang. I am perfectly able to switch to other applications, or load new ones, which indicates that Captivate is not hogging all the resources.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue before, and if so if a solution/workaround has been identified?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I've been experiencing a problem with Captivate taking an inordinate amount of time (approx 30-40 seconds) to switch between scripts in the Advanced Actions window.

  • Fields disappear after using the Reduce size save in X pro

My many form fields literally are gone after doing a save as>Reduce File Size  command in the new Acrobat X Pro.
I have many pages that I have anywhere from 30 to 50 interactive fields to fill in, I had tested the forms closed the file reopened and then because the file size was a bit more than I have seen in the earlier version of Acrobat, so I used the Save as>Reduce file size command on all my pages after seeing in the folder that my interactives went from 1050 KB to around 500, so I did every form one after the other.
Well when I went to start loading them in to FTP and testing them after placing on the web when clicking on the PDF it has no fillable fileds, well I thought what, so I opened that same file on my computer and nit came up the same, and the last thing I had done before starting to upload was to do the Reduce File Size command.
To have all my fields wiped out like this is crazy, I have no way to recover them from what I can tell, unless Adobe has a miracle fix, which I'm hoping.
I can't find any setting that says it removes form fields upon save!
Can somone tell me what has happened and maybe why, I have doing these type forms for years and have never had this happen, I'm Wary of this new Acrobat, I can't see the old history menu, where you could see pdf's that you created a month ago or more. Why does that screen stay on in the center of the program all the time, most of those have a close box that you can get rid of it. Is there a way to turn on the old 9.0 menus everywhere, and can you move the right side column to the left side somewhere, it just is easier for me to use.
Things seemed to work relatively good in the old version, why some many drastic changes, it ends up slowing my production down, and now i'm behind on my work load.
I'm all for improvments, but really why change everything, it seems counter productive even for Adobe, unless someone is trying to justify their employment.
    I apologize really frustrated here.
Any help to recover would be great.

Thank you LoriAUC, it was definitely the Reduce File Size command. Although I have used the Optimizer in the past in older versions of Acrobat I did not use it in this case.
I have been doing this exact same work with Acrobat from the days of Live Cycle or what ever it was called, and just a few weeks ago I was creating the same interactive's using the same files for a different client, using the Acrobat 9 pro I believe in the built in "Forms" builder.
I think where I may have screwed up is I had always done my Reduce File Size before I made the form interactive, this time I happened to see that each page was over 1 MB and I know that the non-interactive version that I also post on our website is more like 200 KB, so when I saw that they were over 1 MB, I decided that I was going to use the Reduce File Size after I had finished all of my 13 pages of interactive's.
I did not think to check the first one to see that the interactive was still functional, and proceeded to change all of them by quickly opening doing the save as reduce file size and then closing, and it took a whole 3 minutes to undue/ ruin the hours of building the pages with the 30 to 50 field areas that were interactive.
I don't wish to replicate it right now, but I will attempt a test with some made up test files to verify when the deleting of the fields took place, because there was data in the fields, but it was now flat and when you click on the edit in forms, it asks if you want to have the wizard place fields because no fields are in the document, or something to that effect.
I will let you know the outcome of my experiment.
If you come up with any other info I would be very interested.
    Thanks again for the help.
    Sincerely,
    Omnia Guy
