Do your reports bring back a huge amount of data? Per the BI Publisher Report Designer's guide:
BI Publisher layouts are best suited for reports of simple to medium complexity that do not require custom coding.
For enabling interactive sorting and filtering, the complete data set that is passed to the layout should be limited to several thousand rows to achieve a responsive report.

  • Publish dashboard pages 11.1.1.5

Hi, I'm running in to an issue I haven't been able to resolve.
I've created personal dashboard pages that are linked to personal analysis, personal prompts, filters, etc. According to the OBIEE documentation, if I go into one of my personal dashboard pages, I can choose to publish that to a shared dashboard. According to the documentation this should not only publish the dashboard page, but also make shared copies of the personal reports, prompts, filters.
However, when we try that, I'm not seeing that behavior. It does look like it's publishing the dashboard page - but the objects on it are still pointing at my personal stuff - they haven't been copied in to the shared location anywhere.
Does anyone have a work around for this?
    Thanks,
    Scott

No errors being throw. Yes, I've followed what I can find of Oracle documentation, which states (page 4-17 of the OBIEE 11.1.1.5 Users Guide):
    Publishing Dashboard Pages
You can publish a dashboard page to a shared dashboard location so that you can
    share the page with others.
When you publish a dashboard page:
    ■ Personal content (such as analyses, prompts, and so on) is copied to a destination
location that you specify and references updated as appropriate.
    ■ References to shared content are retained.
But I'm completely NOT seeing that personal content is being copied to the destination location....
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Publish - Dashboard to BI Launchpad

    Hi experts,
My dashboard (4.0) based on an BEx-Query and is published to SAP BW. Is there a way to publish this dashboard to the BI Launchpad with the same connection -> Prompts und reading data from BW? or is it possible to create an url to the published dashboard in BW
    br Otto

    Hi Otto,
BICS-based dashboards currently cannot be published to BI 4.0 Enterprise Platform. They still must be hosted in NW. There are plans to have the functionality available in the near future.
You can give url to the published dashboard in BW.
Please refer below thread for details.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,
    Sorry for late reply.
We are doing flight recording for OSB performance testing.
We have followed below steps during testing
    a. Disabled all the services.
    b. Then we start flight recording.
    c. After 20 seconds gap we are enabling the services to poll data.

  • Trouble publishing dashboards

I am attempting to publish dashboards through my Dreamweaver-built web-site. When I preview the site through Dreamweaver using Firefox, I can see the Dashboards.
When I actually go through the web, the Dashboards cannot be seen.
Here is my dashboard-less homepage. There should be two small dashboards on the right hand column above the links. Then when you follow the links, you should be able to see the dashboard very big on a new page.
    http://www.otrscorecard.com/index.cfm
Any ideas why the dashboards cannot be seen?

No- there are two Xcelsius dashboards on the right hand side of thr web-page.
Also when you click on a link, another page pops up with a large Xcelsius dashboard displayed.
Everything seems to work when I pre-view the site in Dreamwaever, but not when I view from the web.
    Maybe a Dreamweaver problem?

  • Publishing Dashboard into bw -- All labels in spreadsheet gone

    Hi experts,
during publishing the xcelsius dashboard into the NW Environment, the SWF generation stops without any error message. Sometimes the message "Publish failed" appears (contains no error ID).
After that, ALL labels in the spreadsheet are gone. Instead of the labels the cells only contain  ' #VALUE '.
    The dashboard is useless then.
I can work hours with this dashboard and publish it a couple of times. Everything is fine and works as designed. But then, whyever, it deletes the labels. It happened three times, very frustrating.
    Xcelsius Enterprise SP3.3
    Connectiontype: SAP NW BW-Connection
Win XP & Office 2007 with latest patches
    flash 10,1,85,3
Does anyone know about this issue and how to fix it?
    Best regards,
    Dennis

    Hi David,
Thank you very much for sharing this information.
Our connections are BICS only, not via BOE. However, you are dead-on with the size of the dashboard. It is very big, with a lot of cells (20'000+), and lookups, and xTree components.
We sometimes have the "publish failed" message, and it could well be related to the corruption error.
We have had the issue also with one smaller dashboard, though.
SAP has advised to clear the portal cache (to remove possible inconsistencies in meta data), and to upgrade to Xcelsius 3.4.
We cleared the cache, but the corrupted dashboard did of course not come back.
We are currently running 3.1, and as we do not have a package for 3.4 yet (we are in a centrally maintained environment), we would like to avoid manual upgrades. For two days, the issue has not occured. We will keep an eye on it, and upgrade if the error returns. I will keep you posted.
    Cheers

  • OBI-users cannot acces BI-Publisher-Dashboard

    Hola,
I have configured a few users in my system and also have putted them into the defaul BIP groups.
@ BIP Security is configured to use BI-Server (is there a document to understand the settings of this configuration?)
When accessing the system with the administrator user, I can view problem-less access BIP-component in my Dashboard, but when accessing with any other user the BIP-Dashboard componente causes an error.
How do i have to configure BIP-security?

  • Dashboard Designer Error - You do not have sufficient permissions to complete the request.

    Hi all
I have created a PerformancePoint Data Source library and a PerformancePoint Reports list on a SharePoint site. The PerformancePoint site collection and site features are also both activated. The data source library is in
the 'trusted data soruces' list in administration. Existing reports I have created show OK on the site.
When user, who has full control of the entire site, clicks "add a new item" in the BI Reports list, SharePoint launches Dashboard Designer OK.
The problem is when Dashboard Designer loads, it does not load the existing data sources & reports. Clicking on the refresh icon results in the error:
You do not have sufficient permissions to complete the request.
If I add this user to the Site Collection Administrators list, the user can refresh and view the data sources & reports OK. Is this a requirement to create reports in Dashboard Designer? It is not acceptable to set all
our report designer users as the site collection administrator.
    Cheers
    Tyson

    Hi,
Have you also tried to assign rights using the technique mentioned in the above given document (i.e. using Dashboard Designer):
Important To assign or change user permissions for dashboard items, you must have
Full Control permissions. Although you can create and publish dashboard items with
Design permissions, you cannot assign or change permissions for dashboard items unless you also have
Full Control (Site) or Site Collection Administrator permissions.
Use the SharePoint Permissions dialog box to assign or change user permissions for a dashboard item. You can open the
SharePoint Permissions dialog box from Dashboard Designer or from the SharePoint list or document library that contains the dashboard item. The following sections describe both methods.
Edit user permissions in Dashboard Designer
In the Workspace Browser, click PerformancePoint Content or
Data Connections, depending on the item that you want to modify. Then, in the center pane, double-click the dashboard item to open it for editing.
In the ribbon, click the Home tab, locate the Item group, and then click
Permissions. A browser window opens, which enables you to view or change the SharePoint permissions for the dashboard item that you opened.
Use the SharePoint permissions dialog box to modify the user permissions for your dashboard item, and then save your changes.
Edit user permissions in a SharePoint list or document library
Locate the dashboard item that you want to modify in its SharePoint list or document library.
Select the check box that is next to the name of the dashboard item. At first glance, you might not see a check box next to your dashboard item. The check box is visible when you put your cursor next to the
Title column, which is located next to the name of the dashboard item. The ribbon appears in the SharePoint site.
In the SharePoint ribbon, click List Tools, and then click
Items. Locate the Manage section, and then click
Document Permissions. A SharePoint Permissions dialog box opens. This enables you to view and change the user permissions for the item that you selected.
Use the SharePoint Permissions dialog box to modify user permissions for your dashboard item, and then save your changes.
Please tell us if this approach shows different permissions assigned and solves your problem.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Martin

  • Dashboard Login Problems

Anyone else having issues logging into the DPS publishing dashboard? It tries to log me in, but then kicks me back to the login screen.

  • Deployment of dashboards to different folders in different environments

    Dear All,
I need to publish dashboard, Xcelsius components and crystal reports from one environment to another. The problem is that folder structure on source and target is different. We are using VersionManager for deployment of webi and deski reports. This tool allows seamless deployment to different folder structures, but doesnu2019t support dashboards, Xcelsius and Crystal. Is there any method to do it with standard tools or scripting with SDK?
    Regards,
    D.

    Hi Dmytro,
Which version of BOE are u using? If it is XI 3.1 you could use LCM. If not try Import Wizard for the dashboards (build using dashboard builder?) Xcelsius and Crystal. You could save the Xcelsius and Crystal Reports directly from the client to the target environment by using a local copy but that will created different CUIDs in the landscape and a conflict with your dashboards (if Xcelsius and/or Crystal components are included).
    Hope this helps...

  • Reg: How to send Xcelsius dashboard through mail

    Hi all,
I want to Email the Xcelsius dashboard. Whenever the backend data changes ,notification have to send through mail like scheduling the report.
Is it possible to schedule the Xcelsius dashboard?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hemalatha J

    Hemalatha,
    Unfortunately that is not possible.
Below is what we did for the similar requirement...
    --> Developed dashboards in Xcelsius.
--> Published dashboard on the portal.
--> When ever data is loaded in SAP BI, using "Information Broadcasting" an email is triggered to the end users, like "Data is now available for 06/2009"
--> Users access dashboards logging into portal.
    Hope this helps...

  • How can I get file folio

I genered article to folio by folio build, I can review in the Indesign CS5.5. I hava a question, but how can I get the file folio.

If your coming from the Pre-release you will notice the huge change in folio creation.  In the pre-release Folio files were bundled outside of InDesign.. as was logical for testing purposes.  Adobe made a move to integrate the folio creation process inside of InDesign as well as the Adobe Cloud, you will also notice currently there is no option to "export" Folios.  This is possibly a move to prevent people from attempting to distribute folio files outside of DPS or on servers outside the distribution option.  Your content is automatically uploaded onto your acrobat.com account while your working (why you are required to sign in and have an Internet connection)
If you currently have a DPS license you can access your folios, as well as edit them, in the DPS dashboard (https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/).  If you don't have a license you can still access and edit your folios (such as order and thumbnails) inside of acrobat.com  and just use the Adobe ID you have been using inside Indesign.
Adobe has supplied options for you to view your folios either from the folio preview inside inDesign or on a Viewer app for your ipad.  Future Viewer apps are in development.
So to anwser your question: Folio files are currently reside inside the Adobe cloud and you can access them from either Acrobat.com or the Digital Publishing Dashboard.
    Best Regards

  • Installing BI Discoverer Plus for multidimensional OLAP ?

    Hi there,
it seems I really need to ask for help after getting lost in the forest that Oracle Software is. I hope my question is not too bothersome to people on this forum. So here's the situation:
I have an Oracle 11g database on a CentoOS server, with OLAP option. I have created a simple star schema from my data and an analytical worksheet (although not without pain, there's another thread about that). Now I wish to access the OLAP data through a tool on my Windows XP workstation and be able to manipulate the data to create reports. My goal is to create a small demo to help convincing our client that OLAP reports is the way to go to play with their data, create custom reports, etc. In fact what I'd like to do is to play with the OLAP model like I used to a few years ago when I was using Business Objects as as client, I think they called it Universe Management or something. The thing is you get your model elements (measures, levels, attributes, etc) as icons in a palette and you can drag&drop them on a worksheet to dynamically create reports, crosstabs, etc. That was very nice and accessible to almost any user.
Now my question: what piece of Oracle software should I install on each machine to be able to do that ? I tried with Oracle Client BI Tools on XP but this seems to only include Discoverer "classic" or whatever, that only manipulates relational data. I think I need Discoverer "plus", but where is it located ? This is what I found on the website: "OracleBI Discoverer can be installed from the Oracle Business Intelligence CD". Well ok, but which CD ? There seems to be several of them, like Oracle BI EE, Oracle BI SE, Oracle BI SE One, Oracle BI Tools, etc. Additionaly do I really need to install a full-blown Application Server on the CentOS system to access Discoverer Plus ? This frightens me a bit, you know, I'm aiming for a small demo with two or three tables, I'd be thankful not to have to spend a whole week installing a web infrastrucutre for that.
Well this all looks somewhat confusing, so I thought I'd be better off asking those who know, hence my post. Again I hope this doesn't sound to bothersome.
    Thanks for your help!
    Christian

    Hi Gareth and all,
in fact I have installed the "Oracle BI Tools" for windows (as_windows_x86_bi_tools_101202.zip) which give me access to
    - Oracle Discoverer Administrator
    - Oracle Discoverer Desktop
However according to the [Discoverer documentation|http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B13917_03/1intro.htm] these are not the tools I'm looking for; as it says : "if you want to create new worksheets and analyze data from both relational and multi-dimensional data sources across the Web, you will use Discoverer Plus". As it seems, Discoverer Desktop only accesses relational data through an EUL, I really would like to play with my OLAP cube, because I'm intending to create a demo of what will eventually be a much larger OLAP system.
So I'm still desperately looking for Discoverer "Plus". From the page you indicate I had already installed not the full AS but the "Business Intelligence" CD, which is supposed to include Discoverer (as indicated in the 'Included" list). I did a "complete" install, however I'm still unable to locate anything ressembling Discoverer. I have Publisher, Dashboard, Delivers, Marketing, Disconnected Analytics... There's Answers that might be similar to Discoverer, but it looks like a whole different beast and much more demanding (like I'm not even able to figure out how to define a new data source). Well I was hoping to be able to view my tiny cube in a few clicks and "Discoverer Plus OLAP" looked like the right tool for that.
So the next step might be to install the full AS, however it'll take the whole week-end to merely download the 4 CDs. And will it include Discoverer PLus in the end, or am I getting to come back empty-handed again ? Well this is all getting a bit discouraging, please if anyone here knows a convenient way to end up graphically manipulating an OLAP cube and creating simple reports from it please advise ! :-)
Anyway thanks all for your support,
    Chris
