BI Publisher Merge PDF and print documents through Java

We need our reports in merged and printed (collated). Is this possible with BI Publisher . If yes, how?
The reports will be called from Java. So far I found the Web Service provided by BI Publisher handy in printing and creating reports but not combine them.

Photosmart C6180 prints too many copies of PDFs and HTML-documents

Hi,
My Photosmart C6180 prints multiple copies of documents even if I haven't asked for it. This seems to only apply to PDFs and HTML-documents, I haven't seen it happen with Word/Excel. It's not consistent, it happens most of the time but now always for these documents. When I look at the console, when it has started printing I see shortly the status "Printing - Restarting". That's probably when it starts the 2nd copy. Sometimes it stops by itself, other times it seems to be looping and I have to turn the printer off and delete the document from the queue.
HP solution center SW is updated, I run Vista with latest service packs on a Thinkpad T400s.
Any ideas?

My C6180 printed multiple copies of any document from my Vista OS laptop ( wireless connection ), but not from my
XP OS desktop ( USB connection), even though I selected 1 copy on the print menu. Unchecking "Enable bidirectional support" in the Properties / Ports dialog box solved the problem. Hope this helps someone too.

AcroPDF in VB6 - Find text in PDF and print that page.

Okay, so I'm certain that this question has been asked and answered a hundred times, but for some reason my googling skills are seriously failing me today...
I have a legacy application built in VB6 that generates PDF documents of a particular form letter. Each PDF contains all of the form letters that were printed on that particular day. I actually have it all working rather decently, but something came up a little while ago that set me on a new programming obsession. I want to enable the following functionality from my application:
The user provides a text string that should be unique among all pages of all PDF's (customer ID).
The application then finds the PDF that contains that text string and identifies which page number contains that text string.
Finally, send only that page to the printer.
Currently I can easily create, display and print the PDF from my application. While the creation of the document is done through a third-party reporting system, all display and printing functions are basically handled using AcroPDF.dll. Going through the available properties and methods for an AcroPDF object, I see that I can tell it to print only specified pages, which gives me the last part of my requirements, and I've got the user input part down pat. I'm just totally stumped at finding a solution for "step 2".
Any suggestions, ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated. I'm kinda tired of banging my head against a wall. Thank you for your time.

If you are only using Adobe Reader, then that feature isn't available.

Convert a web report into pdf and print (in BW 3.5)

Hello gurus,
i have few web reports ( created using WAD). i am looking for a possibility to convert a web report (viewed in a browser by a user) into pdf and print them and this should be done by pressing a button.
Is it possible in BW 3.5 version?.
could anyone please help me?

Major problem saving and printing documents on two computers

This is a bizarre problem that seems to have been transferred from my old MDD to my new Mini when I migrated all my old data and it has me baffled. My apologies if this explanation seems long and complicated but I want to be pretty thorough.
About a month ago I started experiencing a problem with printing. I noticed when printing a sheet of business cards that the page was getting compressed, for lack of a better word, vertically. This was very noticeable because the trim marks on the side of the page were not lining up with the perforations and each row of cards was getting progressively closer to the top as each row was printed. In other words, the first row of cards was okay but then the next row was a little too far "north", the next row a little more, the next row a little more, etc. The bottom of the page was not cut off, it was just squeezed up a bit but not enough that you could tell that the proportions were off. Now I see that many of my documents are like that no matter what application I've use to create them – Pages, Illustrator, Avery DesignPro. What's even worse, I've used Pages to create a sheet of business cards for a friend and Illustrator to make packaging labels and she's having the same problem printing the PDFs of the labels on a different computer. What this seems to tell me is that something has been corrupted and the computer is saving messed up files.
So, about ten days ago I got a Mini and migrated my data using Migration Assistant. And the problem has now been transferred to the Mini. So I now have two Macs connected to two different HP printers that are both incapable of printing (and apparently saving) documents in the proper proportions.
Now, a truly weird thing is that I printed a test sheet of business cards from the Mini on the printer connected to the MDD (via printer sharing) and it appeared that the document printed at the correct length. However, another document, a sheet of labels created in Illustrator, printed at the right length but one edge was slightly cropped off. Grrr.
Anyway, as I said, until about a month ago everything worked fine so something got messed up at that time to cause this problem with saving and printing documents. I need to get this resolved for business reasons – I'm an aspiring designer – but the only thing I can think of doing is wiping out my Mini and reloading everything except my account settings from Time Machine unless someone has advice on what to do. Help! (And yes, I've checked to see that page scaling was always set at 100%.)

Well, I've just about had it. I erased the disk, reinstalled the OS, Adobe CS4, and iWork. I did not use Migration Assistant this time to restore my settings but still my Mac prints documents in the wrong dimensions. Could this be a sudden HP problem? It seems to me some system setting somewhere is making my computer save and print documents in the wrong size. I now have a computer that is almost useless for designing. Lucky me.

Export to PDF and Print to Postscript (in one step)

I am seeking a script that will do the following consecutively:
* Export to PDF (PDF settings never changes, output directory never changes)
* Print to PS (printer preset that is used never changes, output directory never changes)
It would save us a lot of time in our workflow having to do this in one step, with a single keyboard shortcut.
Since the same PDF and Printer presets are always used, as well as the output directories, It would
probably be easy to include those settings in the script itself, as opposed to some preference file, I'm guessing.
If anyone can help me write this, I'd much appreciate it.

Looks like some powerful software there... and a bit pricey for what I need to do (over $500 US dollars, yikes).
Surely the script I am seeking is much less involved than that. I suppose I'll have to try to do some Javascript myself,

Urgent Help Regarding PDF and Word Document Downloading

I used Oracle Intermedia to store my PDF and Word Documents in the database using Oracle SQL Loader. Then I used PL/SQL Server Pages and Oracle Web Toolkit for the downloading of my documents.
Now the problem is I saved all my formatted documents in the databse and for retrieval I am using following code in my stored procedure

3 MANUAL.DOC
4 STANDARD.TXT
If I set the MIME type for the file format than it automatically starts download the file to the client browser, that I do not want, It should ask the user to download with the proper document name.

Presumedly you'd like those documents being accessiable by users as well, so they should be put on a web server, ftp or nfs sharing. You can just add the urls to those documents, or the directory they are in, into robot system as starting points and let robot run to collect them.

I have certificates which have been archived. Once I get the Archiv Id of the document from TOA01, how do I use this data to print?
The Archived Document is a PDF Document. Could you please advise steps on how this data can be retrieved and printed?
Information I have presently is that I can get the archived data in Binary Format with FM ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_TABLE
How do you process this binary data to get it printed?

Displaying PDF and Word Document

Hi,
I have used the methods to display HTML :
1. Link to Action and the IFrame -> The Result was the html file I was able to display in the same window.
2. Link to URL -> The Result was html file opened in different window.
3.IFrame and attaching the file in project -> it was resulted in html file getting dispalyed in IFrame.
Now if I want to extend the functionality for PDF or word document, is the procedure same or different
Can anyone enlighten me on this
Any thoughts on this.

Hi srikant,
You can also display word documents and pdf by uploading it in the server.
For this you'll have to create aliases in the server for the corressponding documents that you want to uploaad.
Go to visual admin ->services->httpprovider.
Then click the tab 'aliases'. Here you can give the name of your alias and also the document to which the alias should point(first upload the document to the server machine and then give the path here ) .
Now when you type http://server:port/aliasname your document will open in the browser. You can display it either through your iFrame or linktourl as you prefer.
