BI Publisher Metadata

I am trying to refresh the BI Publisher Metadata but doesn't seem to work.
I have added new columns to the business and presentation layer of the rpd and saved it. I could load the "BI Presentation Services" metadata with out any issues, but BI Publisher metadata is not getting updated.
Not sure what the issue could be.
I re-started the BI Server/Presentation Server services; synchronize the metadata using BI Publisher/Admin/Refresh Metada but no much luck. I can't see the newly added columns in the RPD.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards
B

Sorry - I remembered that I have also had this once and wound up removing the entire table and then re-importing.
This cleared it, but I never got to the bottom of why it had not accepted it...

  • Event ID 207 Failed to generate publishing metadata

    Hello All,
    On the publishing server, I see this error (Event ID 207) - Failed to generate publishing metadata.  Reason: The underlying provider failed to Open.  Not sure what to look for and how to fix the issue.
    I am able to add packages within the Management Server and when, I refresh publishing server the package ID shows up.  On the client side the package is available.
    I just want to fix the error, if it is possible and get rid of this event ID 207 from the event viewer.
    Thanks
    RL

    Are the publishing and management service on the same machine? Sounds like a WCF-related error.

  • Is it possible to embed publisher metadata in a pdf so it shows in ADE

    Currently all I get is 'Publisher unknown'. Have seen various threads about this from a couple of years ago when it seems it wasn't possible, has this changed?

    Hi Ed
    I used to spend hours working out the same problems. There's good news and bad news. First though -- what version AA are you using.
    Bad news is, unless you can get hold of the exact fonts used to create the pdf -- and then put them on your system -- there will not be much you can do, unless AA has vastly changed their procedures.
    Even if you get the exact font and add it to your system, I am still not sure AA will "see" it, depending upon if the font was originally embedded into the pdf or not, when it was made. Logically, it would appear that if not embedded the program would recognize it on the system. But, unfortunately, this has not always worked for me and I do not know why myself.
    Unless your required font is something like Hebrew or Chinese, the program will automatically replace your courier to the next likely (internally programmed) selection, so you will not notice any problems. (my experiences & problems were always with foreign languages)
    You can replace a font or make a correction by blocking the sentence or word, then using your right-click context menu, then selecting Font, and making the replacement.
    Perhaps the best way would be so save the file as another .doc file and start all over again, but with the font your printer will accept?
    Is that an option?
    let me know.

  • Metadata publishing for this service is currently disabled.

    Hi,
    I have installed SCSM 2012 on 2012 server. On this machine i installed web content server role as well, while Sharepoint Web part is installed at Sharepoint 2010 machine which is on Windows 2008 R2. After installing Web Content server role when i tried to
    access following URL
    https://khi-servicemgr/ServiceHost/Services/DataAccessService.svc
    I got following error:
    This is a Windows© Communication Foundation service.
    Metadata publishing for this service is currently disabled.
    If you have access to the service, you can enable metadata publishing by completing the following steps to modify your web or application configuration file:
    1. Create the following service behavior configuration, or add the <serviceMetadata> element to an existing service behavior configuration:
    <behaviors>
    <serviceBehaviors>
    <behavior name="MyServiceTypeBehaviors" >
    <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true" />
    </behavior>
    </serviceBehaviors>
    </behaviors>
    2. Add the behavior configuration to the service:
    <service name="MyNamespace.MyServiceType" behaviorConfiguration="MyServiceTypeBehaviors" >
    Note: the service name must match the configuration name for the service implementation.
    3. Add the following endpoint to your service configuration:
    How to resolve this issue?
    Hasan

    I think there is an issue of context here. why are you attempting to browse to a web service with a browser? This "error" is simply the default response of the web service to a HTTP GET request, that is, "I don't publish metadata. send a real service request".
    if you are unable to see the Silverlight parts, it's probably due to certificate issues, but you might want to go through
    the whole troubleshooting article.

  • To publish website in taxonomy structure

    Hi,
    This is the requirement
    1.I have created a website in which files for that site are stored in particular folder hierarchy under contribution folders.I am using site studio publishing utility to publish to subscription client which publishes the site to target folder.It is publishing as per the weblayout structure without the taxonomy . I want to customize the publishing process to publish the site with its folder hierarchy.
    2. I need to publish metadata to database using site studio publishing utltity.How it can be done.
    Please provide your suggestions.

    There is a way of creating the Folders structure via a file.
    If you go to the Fodler administration page and 'export' the folder structure content server will export the structure as an hda file (CollectionArchive.hda)
    you can create your own hda file in the same format and then upload this to create a new folder structure on a ny UCM instance. In this case you specify the dCollectionID in the hda file.
    DO not forget it is dCollectionID in the Collections table, xCollectionID is the content metadata field.

  • Exporting an ebook, no metadata?

    I've been going through this multiple times, but I can't seem to figure out what the problem is.
    Through File>File Info, I add metadata to my ebook. But once I export the ebook and view it, the metadata is nowhere to be found. The file name is used as the title and it's by "Author Unknown." The only metadata that gets exported is what I add in the publisher metadata option that appears in the export screen.
    Also on this note, EPUB Validator keeps giving me a warning for OEBPS/content.opf, line 6 position 24 and the message is "title element is empty." Some searching on Google told me that this means there's no unique identifier, but I have entered one in through the export option.

    I'm not sure what the problem is. The OPF has no metadata in it, and I've checked the "include document metadata" option. Does it have something to do with the fact that I've put this ebook together from an InDesign Book?

  • Adding C# Soap Header to a client that calls BT2010 Orchestration published as a WCF Web Service

    I've added code from this reference to my orchestration (that is published as a WCF webservice):
    Accessing SOAP Headers in Orchestrations.
    I have a C# client that I was previously using before I was using any of the SOAP Headers.  I've been looking at dozens of blogs, and find the answers to anything related to SOAP Headers most confusing (and often specific to unique cases).
    I'm using BT2010.  How can I add username, password, and a custom header called "ApplicationID" to my existing C# program and pass it to the orchestration/web service?
    Thanks,
    Neal

    Neal,
    The BizTalk WCF Service Publishing Wizard does not include custom SOAP header definitions in the generated metadata. To publish metadata for WCF services using custom SOAP headers, you should manually create a Web Services Description Language (WSDL) file.
    You can use the externalMetadataLocation attribute of the
    <serviceMetadata> element in the Web.config file that the wizard generates to specify the location of the WSDL file. The WSDL file is returned to the user in response to WSDL and metadata exchange (MEX) requests instead of the auto-generated WSDL.
    The following XML data shows an example of a part of the WSDL file defining custom SOAP headers:
    <wsdl:operation name="Request">
    <soap12:operation soapAction="http://Microsoft.Samples.BizTalk.NetTcpAdapter/OrderProcess/IOrderProcess/Request" style="document" />
    <wsdl:input name="Order">
    <soap12:header message="i0:Order_Headers" part="SalesAgent" use="literal" />
    <soap12:body use="literal" />
    </wsdl:input>
    <wsdl:output name="OrderConfirmation">
    <soap12:header message="i0:OrderConfirmation_Headers" part="PaymentAgent" use="literal" />
    <soap12:body use="literal" />
    </wsdl:output>
    </wsdl:operation>

    Hello Nicke,
    Thank you for your response.
    I have enabled the Analyctic and Debug log for the Management and Publishing server and let it run for 30min.
    The debug log only shows 1 error when I used iisreset telling me the management server is unavailable (which it indeed was for a brief second). Otherwise it is completely empty.
    The analyctic log show the following when I refresh my packages on the client (but don't see any errors in it).

    Get user group list
    Get user group list
    Get entitled package list

    Write package list to XML
    Handle refresh request
    Especially the write package list to XML looks interesting, but in the details I don't see anything special/wrong:
    The analytic log for the management server only shows Get Publishing Metadata every 5 seconds (The time which the xml files should be refreshed).

  • How to get Composite wsdls to the MDS

    Hello Guys,
    I have been trying to upload the Composite wsdl created using AIA Service Constructor to the MDS. I been using AIAHarvester using Jdeveloper.
    Did follow below mentioned steps from the Readme document
    To install the AIAHarvester Ant tasks into SOA Suite 11g or JDeveloper 11g:
    -Close any open Jdeveloper sessions.
    -Unzip the AIAHarvester zip file. You should end up with a folder AIAHarvester containing the contents of this zip file.
    -Edit tools11g.xml to match your JDeveloper installation.
    Replace every occurance of "$harvester.location$" with the location of the extracted AIAHarvester folder.
    -Merge the contents of tools11g.xml into your JDeveloper's product preferences XML file.
    This is located in ${JDEV_USER_HOME}\system11.1.xxxxxx\o.jdeveloper\product-preferences.xml .
    Insert it it after the lines:
    If there is an existing entry "<hash n="oracle.ideimpl.externaltools.ExternalToolList">, replace with the contents of tools11g.xml.
    If not, add it right after the initial <ide:preferences> element.
    -Start JDeveloper. Under Tools | External Tools you should see two new entries:
    -Submit this File to AIA LifeCycle and OER
    -Submit this Project to AIA LifeCycle and OER
    -Submit this Application to AIA LifeCycle and OER
    -For each of these
    -Select it
    -Click "Edit"
    -Click the "Properties" tab, and configure the missing properties to point to your OER server, SOA Server and LifeCycle DB .
    -To point to an external "HarvesterSettings.xml file: add a property called "settings.file", and set the value to the URL of the settings file,
    for example "c:\temp\MyHarvesterSettings.xml".
    -To run one of the tools:
    -Select a file in the "Applications Navigator".
    -Right click and select "Submit this File to AIA LifeCycle and OER" or "Submit this Project to AIA LifeCycle and OER" or "Submit this Application to AIA LifeCycle and OER".
    -"Submit this File to AIA LifeCycle and OER" will harvest just the selected file. (This works for zips and jars too).
    -NOTE: JDeveloper 11 does not support multi-select correctly for external tools. Even if you multi-select, only one file will be harvested.
    -"Submit this Project to AIA LifeCycle and OER" will harvest just the entire selected project .
    -"Submit this Application to AIA LifeCycle and OER" will harvest all the projects under Application selected.
    When trying to harvest composite wsdl using jdev. I get the following error saying the Harvest mode not set. But I have the set properties set to AIA as the Harvesting Mode.

    Hi all,
    As I read through this thread, I'd like to make some clarification.
    AIAHarveter is NOT for publishing contents into MDS. It is to publishing metadata about your composites into Project Lifecycle Workbench and/or OER (pending upon your '-mode' parameter) as described by rwunder
    As part of the AIA best-practice in 11g, the dependent artifacts (e.g., the ABCS.wsdl your composite uses) shall be in the MDS a priori. This is achieve via the 'UpdateMetaDataDP.xml' script as described by Rahul. Further, the ABCS.wsdl reference in your composite.xml shall be in the form of oramds://apps/AIAMetadata/...
    If the jDev plug-in does not work, please use the AIAHarvester.sh command-line for now. Last question, where the readme of plug AIAHarvester in jDev come from? which AIA release?
    Thanks!

  • RTF Template properties are not being retained in generated output.

    Hi Tim,
    I have a bit complex printing requirement whereby first page of the output PDF file should go to some designated Tray (Let's say Tray-1) and the rest of the pages (if any) should go to another tray (let's say Tray - 2).
    I do not know how can I set up printer in Apps in such a way that this requirement can be fulfilled thru standard concurrent program.
    Well, MS Word has a concept of Section using which you can specify individual print property (even tray can be specified) for different pages in the same document. However, when I generated my PDF (or RTF for that matter) from the RTF template which used Section to define individual page's print property, the output file doesn't retain this property. It simply selects the auto-property.
    Is there any way the properties defined at section level in RTF template, can be retained in PDF (or RTF) output generated through BI Publisher?
    Thanks in anticipation for any help you can provide on this.
    With regards-
    Ashish.

    You don't specify but I suspect your process is as follows:
    Document is created offline or with a template which has the metadata fields but they are blank.
    Document is edited offline and uploaded to SharePoint when ready for publishing
    Metadata is applied to the online copy of the document.
    The offline document is updated, then re-uploaded.
    The most common cause of this is that with xml based office documents the metadata is stored in the files themselves. SharePoint will always use those values rather than any values set in SharePoint when a file is uploaded. Normally this is exactly what
    people want however sometimes it bites you in the rear when the values are blank or the existing business process isn't the one MS expected.
    Can you re-test by taking one of the office docs in your library, downloading a copy, editing that and re-uploading it?

  • Federation using weblogic as an IDP and OIF as a SP(service Provider)

    Hi,
    I am facing some problem during SAML creation.
    I am using weblogic as an Identity Provider and Oracle Identity federation (OIF) as a service Provider. The federation will be IDP(weblogic) initiated.
    I have configured both sides , published metadata and exchanged.
    Is there any out of box feature of weblogic by which we can use SAML after configuration only or we need to write a separate java code(Login page.jsp etc) in order to create login page and using the entire configuration which I made in weblogic.
    I am using OIF as service provider . I have Exchanged metadata of OIF and weblogic as part of building trust between IDP and SP.
    IF I had used OIF at both sides in that case my job would be pretty easy (cause OIF is specifically built for this purpose. But our requirement is different as I have to use weblogic as an IDP).
    What URL I need to hit for SAML if there is out of box feature in weblogic for using SAML(after configuring everything in weblogic).
    Thanks.
    Piyush

    Weblogic itself does not have an identity provisioning store, you will have to employ a provisioning mechanism.

    #1) Respect the privacy of others.
    #2) Think before you type.
    #3) With great power comes great responsibility.
    Password:
    mdutil: unknown indexing state -- on/ZZ01ProductionServer/Hammer

    mdutil can be used to manage the metadata stores used by Spotlight.
    -p publish metadata for the provided volumes.
    -i (on|off) set indexing status for the provided volumes.
    -E erase the master copy of the metadata stores for the provided volumes.
    -s print indexing status for the provided volumes.
    I then tried erasing the master copy of the metadata stores (-E) and it came back with a message saying none existed.

  • Transactional Replication and Database Snapshots

    Hi,
    I have a database that is a publisher in transactional replication.
    I create a database snapshot on that database and then let transactions replicate to the subscriber(s).
    I revert the database back to the snapshot.
    What happens to replication?

    Your Log Reader Agent could fail if the publication database LSN is less than the value of the transaction sequence number (max xact_seqno) at the distribution database.  In which case you could execute
    sp_replrestart to resynchronize the Publisher metadata with the Distributor metadata.
    Afterwards it would wise to run a data validation to see how out of sync you are with the Subscriber and use
    tablediff utility or SQL Data Compare to bring the Publisher and Subscriber back into convergence.  Reinitialization is an option as well.  It depends on exactly what you are trying to achieve.

    Neal,
    The BizTalk WCF Service Publishing Wizard does not include custom SOAP header definitions in the generated metadata.
    <wsdl:operation name="Request">
    <soap12:operation soapAction="http://Microsoft.Samples.BizTalk.NetTcpAdapter/OrderProcess/IOrderProcess/Request" style="document" />
    <wsdl:input name="Order">
    <soap12:header message="i0:Order_Headers" part="SalesAgent" use="literal" />
    <soap12:body use="literal" />
    </wsdl:input>
    <wsdl:output name="OrderConfirmation">
    <soap12:header message="i0:OrderConfirmation_Headers" part="PaymentAgent" use="literal" />
    <soap12:body use="literal" />
    </wsdl:output>
