BI Publisher was connecting. now it isn't...

I'm running 11g r2 on Vista 64.
I installed OBIEE 11.1.1.5 using a 'simple install'. Right after the install, I was able to then open BI Publisher and browse the data from the small sample xml data. I don't recall having to use the supplied url to do this, rather, I think I was given a choice to open Bi Publisher from some screen. It worked fine.
Now, the next day, went I try to open Bi Publisher I don't see any menu item for it. Instead, I apparently have to bookmark and use the url supplied at the end of the installation. So be it.
However when I use the url to open Bi Publisher I get the error +'Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at goa:7001'+
Ok, so I figured that I need to Start the BI Service using the 'Start BI Services' menu choice. (For good measure I stopped the BI Service first.) However, when I then try to start the BI service I get one cmd window which finishes with the line ' wls.alive:' and then another cmd window opens with the message:
SVR_GRP=\Java\jre6\lib\ext\QTjava.zip was unexpected at this time.
C:\oracleBI\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain>
And as expected, the url still does not work. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and what I need to do to connect to Bi Publisher? Thanks, John

I figured out the problem. It relates to the (windows) ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE called CLASSPATH. It had an entry of CLASSPATH= ...\Java\jre6\lib\ext\QTjava.zip and I deleted it and I was then able to Start BI Services.

IMac was connected to my wifi, now "no internet connection" works on others

Hi Everyone,
So, I'm using a current generation (I think!) 21.5" i3 iMac. All has been fine, except since yesterday, but, it's a weird problem..
So, I was connected to my home wifi, (a netgear router provided by my ISP), all was well (for the last 6 months or whatever), and then suddenly out of nowhere I have an exclamation mark over my airport sign and "no internet connection" when I click it. (now known as "!")
First thing I tried was restarting router, then restarting iMac. Neither worked, came back and still "!".
Then I realised, my iPhone is on the WiFi and it has been working fine, sure enough it is fine. I got out my old MBP and went on it, and hey, the internet works absolutely fine. So, I started worrying that perhaps the airport in the iMac has suffered some kind of failure...
But, alas no, as I realised some of our neighbours have unprotected networks, so went on a nice "NETGEAR" network, and hey! The internet works on the iMac again. Went back to my network and it comes back with.... "!"
So, I then logically (perhaps) thought that the router has decided to dislike the iMac and isn't letting it connect... So, I reset the router to factory settings (which was a bad idea now that I look back as I didn't have login settings so had to phone call centre of ISP to get details... D'oh..) but now that the internet is back up, I also changed the name of the network, the passwords etc, thinking I could fool the iMac into thinking it's something else, but.. NO! Connected to the new network and.... "!"
So, it's miffing me off quite a lot. I am currently using my Uni's network (which just reaches my flat) but it's not that fast, and not intended for use at home, I'm sure! I'd like to get back on my network.
Any help greatly appreciated but, I realise this is an odd problem.. just hoping I'm not the first?

Take a look at your router settings. If you use WEP encryption, change it to WPA2. Macs really don't like WEP.

The iCloud backup does not include non-Tunes purchased music and photos that were synced to the iPod. The iCloud backup does not also included a few other things included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.
The iPod backup that iTunes makes does also not included non-iTunes purchases and photos synced to the iPod.
free programs like iFunBox with copy non-iTunes purchased music and some other things from iPod to computer. A paid program like TouchCopy is needed to copy photos synced to the iPod to a computer.

Cannot sync iPhone as apps were deleted when it was connected to iTunes. Now cannot upload music. What should I do?

My iPhone was connected to my computer and to itunes. I deleted apps from my iPhone directly, when it was connected. Now I am unable to sync my iPhone.
When I try and sync, it goes through the process then a message appears:
" iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPhone because the apps installed on the iPhone could not be determined."
On the 'apps' tab in iTunes, a list of 13 apps appears, when I now only have 6 on my phone.
This is stopping the iPhone syncing fully, and I want to upload all my music to the phone.
Does anybody have any idea what I could do? I am reluctant to add all the apps again as soem I have to pay for, and one, Post Secret is no longer available.

Reistallation of older or up to date iTunes versions is impossible because: "Installation package iTunes.msi is located on a network resource not available" and because "It is impossible to remuove thew previous verson of iTunes. Impossible fto find the path."

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Same issue here too. I will try reinstalling the firmware update. This has happend to me twice. The only way to correct the issue was to reboot.

I have just tried to upgrade to the latest version of itunes, and my ipad was connected to my computer at the time. The upgrade crashed part way through. I now cannot start itunes as it says MSVCR80.dll is missing. Anyone got any ideas?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Hey everyone-
Im in the same boat, started a thread . My hands free system worked fine with iOS 8 out of the box new iphone 6. Did the update this morning and i can stream music perfectly fine however i cannot make or receive calls through hands free system.
I have not tried resetting the settings like most people indicate is working. I feel like I shouldn't have to reset anything, even less mess with settings with an update coming from apple. it should "Just Work"
Some people who reset said it works for a few hours, other say it don't work, and I don't know what I should do.

NOTE: I was able to replicate the issue in my wifes Hyunday Elentra 2013.
This is how I know its not a defect with the BT in my car.

IPad won't connect to my home WiFi. Was connecting fine then stopped. My phone has no problem connecting to same WiFI. Confused.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

simple all you have to do if your using your imessage throw WIFI (internet) just go to Settings > wifi > then next of the (NAME) of your wifi there is small blue arrow click on it and then new page will come up click on the DNS server there will be number remove it delete it and type this number 8.8.8.8
i had same problem and i just serach and it worked for me and i hop the same to you.
