BI report access log

Dear All,
I want to know which users have used BI reports and how many times.
How can i get this data?
Best Regards
Sandeep

Hi,
You can enable and activate security audit in SM19 and collect the Audit Log in SM20 ...
In SM19 you need to enable Audit Class "Report Start" and any other as per your requirement.
Regards.

• Weird error message I got after changing my Access Log Settings

"Try to refresh the view (localhost/Web). Report the problem to the administrator if it persists. (NILRESPONSEERR (* -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (0) beyond bounds (0)))"
I can't seem to get into server admin to change back what I did. I copied access log settings from a known good working server and after hitting save I get this. Tried restarting with no luck.
Anyone know where to start looking at? Ever encountered this before?

• Where yo find reporting services log files in sharepoint 2013 integrated mode

i use to find the reporting services log files in the msrs folder in sharepoin 2010 integrated mode. but when we migrated to sharepoint 2013. i am not able to find the logs.i wanted to check all the executed sql statement using the logs as we don't have
access to sql server profiler. does anybody know the location of yhe logs?

Hi there,
Not sure you'll see the sql statements however you can find information on the ULS logs here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc627510(v=sql.105).aspx
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff487871(v=sql.105).aspx
and here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156500(v=sql.105).aspx
You might want this once ULS log is capturing info.

• Username not showing up in access log for authenticated users

I'm using form-based authentication in a Java web application on Sun One Web Server v6.1 to restrict access to authenticated users. However, even after the users authenticate and access the application, the username field in the access log is showing them as anonymous.
request.getRemoteUser() is reporting the correct username, so it just seems to be the access log that is in error. Right now it is set to the default but changing formats to custom doesn't seem to help in displaying the username.
Here's an excerpt from the access log:
// anonymous access attempt, redirects to login page...
10.100.168.110 - - [01/May/2006:14:34:42 -0400] "GET /profile/index.jsp HTTP/1.1" 302 0
10.100.168.110 - - [01/May/2006:14:34:42 -0400] "GET /profile/login.jsp HTTP/1.1" 200 3355
10.100.168.110 - - [01/May/2006:14:34:47 -0400] "POST /profile/j_security_check HTTP/1.1" 302 0
// at this point they are logged in and their username should be reflected in the access log, but is not:
10.100.168.110 - - [01/May/2006:14:34:47 -0400] "GET /profile/index.jsp HTTP/1.1" 200 3532 And the relevant code from the web application's web.xml:
<security-constraint>
<web-resource-collection>
<web-resource-name>AllFiles</web-resource-name>

Restricts anonymous access.

<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
<http-method>POST</http-method>
<http-method>GET</http-method>
</web-resource-collection>
<auth-constraint>

Authenticated Users

<role-name>user</role-name>
</auth-constraint>
</security-constraint>I've searched the forums and the manuals but can't see anything showing that the access log's username field doesn't work with form-based authentication. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Some background:
The Java Servlet container has its own authentication infrastructure (which is what you configure in web.xml) which is separate from the non-Java authentication infrastructure (ACLs, etc.). If you set up authentication via ACLs the resulting user identity can (though you may configure it not to) propagate to the Java Servlet container such that request.getRemoteUser() will return it, even though no web.xml-driven authentication occurred. The coverse is not true, however: if you authenticate via a Java Realm, based on web.xml configuration, that user identity is not available to non-Java code.
(Your web.xml snippet doesn't show you using FORM auth - but it doesn't matter, the explanation above applies in any case.)
That is why the log file (generated from non-Java code) doesn't have access to that user. It probably should, but there's no config option today for you to make that happen.
If you're using BASIC auth you may consider moving the authentication configuration from web.xml to ACLs as a possible workaround. It will then show up in the access logs.
If you prefer web.xml-based authentication, consider the <SECURITY audit="true"> option in server.xml. It won't be in the access log but you'll have an audit trail of authentications, which may help.

• Thousands of entries in Apache access logs for a single IP

We are seeing thousands of connections in our Apache access logs coming from the same IP address connecting to the
same pages with in a short period of time (~5-20 minutes). We see this in Firefox 27, 28, 29, and 30. Below is an example of the entries, and how they loop continuously. I have not been able to reproduce the problem manually, but this happens several times a week, and I see evidence in our logs, and by monitoring the session count in our database, which increase when this happens.
Why is this happening? Is this a bug? I see a bug report filed at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=976878, but I do not see any replies.

• WLC 5500 guest access logging

Hello,
In the ISE documentation is states that under a Guest_Activity report you must have guest access logging enabled on the NAD in the ISE network. My question is where do I enable guest access logging in the WLC that is our NAD?

Try under snmp configuration. There you can choose what traps to send. You can choose to send traps for auth clients.

• WSA access logging for HTTPS traffic

Hi,
We have a WSA s370 with AsyncOS version 7.5.1-079 and it is configured as a transparent proxy.
HTTPS proxy is enabled and all the URL categories set to pass through ( no decrytpting or monitoring ).
Seems like the WSA does not generate logs for HTTPS transactions.
I would like to know whether this is the expected behaviour.
Is there any way that I can monitor HTTPS transactions without decrypting ?
Thanks,
Wipula.

In addition to what Ken mentioned, the only way you can monitor HTTPS traffic without decrypting it will be done so using the IP address.
In the access logs, you will see the following transaction when accessing an HTTPS site (google for example):
TCP_CONNECT 74.125.101.50
It will only report URLs once decrypted. At that point, it is just HTTP.

• DPS 6.3.1 access log info message for ssl incorrect

In dps "data sources" I have all my connections to backend servers over 389 and their config says "never use ssl". Why do I get this error in the access log? I know its just info and not bad but its reporting something it shouldn't.
[04/May/2009:14:57:16 -0700] - CONNECT - INFO - conn=14982 client=x.x.x.x:2882 server=sales.company.com:636 protocol=LDAPS

Moreover my backend ldap servers dont use the standard ports like 636.

Thanks. Issue resolved. The error went away. I was in early testing and the set up may have been inaccurate.

Thank you for your reply. According to the defrag report it is an Oracle product - likely the OEM as we do use Enterprise Manager on a daily basis.
Fragments File Size Most fragmented files
3,630 600 MB \oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\oc4j\j2ee\OC4J_DBConsole_wyocama01_ATSRV\log\http-web-access.log
Thanks again for any guidance regarding this.

• IDM 8.x where are the access logs?

Running IDM on linux and want to know where to find the access logs that state who has logged into IDM.

Hi Xoth-
Are you able to log into the IDM admin interface as configurator and reach the "Reports" tab? You should then be able to run a "Today's Activity" report or a "Weekly Activity" report, which will show you who's logged into IDM during a specified period of time. You can customize the report(s) as necessary.
You're not going to be able to find a simple access log that shows logins into IDM, such as what you would have with an LDAP server, for example. I believe you'll need to run a report as I described above.

• Billing from FMS access logs

I'm trying to compute the bytes delivered using the sc-bytes field of the access logs with FMS 3.5 and its seems completely wrong. I'm taking the value of sc-bytes for the "stop" event and subtracting the sc-bytes for the "play" event. At the same time, I'm using tcpdump to capture all the bytes being delivered to the client in this stream. My numbers are looking something like this: For a 100 MB video file, my machine receives roughly 150 MB, but FMS sc-bytes is reporting about 400 MB. Am I doing something wrong or is this a known issue with FMS?

No known issue here as those are some of the more scrutinized area of FMS. Most major FMS partners do just what you're doing there to bill, so those numbers have been vetted more than a few times. Some things to consider
1. sc-stream-bytes is really what you want if you're billing on content, because that's what the customer is seeing. sc-bytes is that plus control traffic, rtmp overhead, etc - consequently it's your choice but if we're talking pure content most use this as they may/may not consider the RTMP overhead part of their load here
2. TCP dump is going to have even more overhead because you're accounting for TCP/IP overhead on stream and that's something that FMS doesn't account for in either sc-stream-bytes or sc-bytes. Realistically it can't as it's obfuscated from that TCP/IP does at that layer (for example how does it want to track a TCP retransmit)
3. Simple play-through vs seek/buffering. Since FMS can seek, or buffer play for some space of data unviewed for baseline billing tests you'll want to make sure it's a simple play from beginning to end as well to set your metrics. If the customer is seeking, pausing and then closing, etc then this number will also be inaccurate.
Hope that helps,
Asa

• How to track browser type in the access log

I have looked through the documentation on logging features on how to log the browser
type for visitors. Is there a straightforward way to do add this information
to the access.log?
We are using Weblogic Portal 7.0 sp4
Thank you.

Hi,
What do you mean by current and old version? Any changes in history log under general settings-->service tab?
Thanks & Regards,

• Transaction log and access log

The transaction log (TransactionLogFilePrefix) and the access log are stored
relative to the directory where the server is started rather than where it
resides as with the rest of the log files. Why is this?
Eg.
I start the server with a batch file contained in
projects\bat
My server is in
projects\server\config\myDomain
When I start the server the access and transaction logs end up in
projects\bat
while all the rest of the log files (such as the domain and server log) end
up in
projects\server
My batch file that starts the server looks like this
"%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -hotspot -ms64m -mx64m -classpath %CLASSPATH%
"-Dbea.home=e:\bea"
"-Djava.security.policy==i:\projects\server\config\myDomain\weblogic.policy"
"-Dweblogic.Domain=myDomain" "-Dweblogic.Name=adminServer"
"-Dweblogic.RootDirectory=i:/projects/server"
"-Dweblogic.management.password=weblogic" weblogic.Server
Thanks for help on this,
Myles

The same case with me, I sent email to apple support, but got not reply.
The apple status page indicated that every thing is fine now, what a joke.
Many devs are in this situation too, I guess we could do nothing but waiting for their system to come up.

• Can no longer access log files from EM(ECM11.1.1.6.0).

Full UI popup error is " Stream closed ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #4"
Of course, I can't see any further errors in the logs,so I'm really at a disadvantage. am currently asking client if he sees anything in the Console for errors.
This was working just fine, no issues accessing logs from EM. No configiration changes were made, there's almost 8gb RAM available on this box(SOA on different BOX). ECM set up is Admin, IPM, UCM on this box.
Is there special memory settings for logs?

log from Admin Console is this:

• File name format of rotated access log

Hi,
I'm using wls5.1sp9 on Solaris.
Is it possible to specify a different file name format of the rotated http access
logs?
Instead of getting files named access.log0001 and so on, I would prefer access.log.<date>
or some other custom format.
Best regards,
Torleif Galteland

Hi,
Thanks for your response. But I have another query. The name of the file as per your reply is like UsageReport.xls correct? Now my query is, should it contain some date, account id/orgid etc associated for that usage. The reason for my query is that if MSP
downloads the usage for different orgs having same bill date then it would conflict with the different usage files.
Thanks And Regards,
Sumanta Saha
