BI Reporting across multiple approval years - IM program position hierarchy

Hi,
We have an issue with our BI report whereby if a user wants to report year to date actuals for financial year 2010,
they need to run the IM report twice.
This is because the IM report is run with a program hierarchy(based on 0PROG_POS), and the infoobject is compounded to approval year.
So, closed projects (with spend in 2010) exist in program hierarchy with approval year 2010
AND open projects (with spend in 2010) exist in program hierarchy with approval year 2011
So to get true 2010 expenditure, the report need to be run once for approval year 2010 and once for approval year 2011.
The users want to be able to run the report once only.
Please help.
I have looked in R3 SBIW convert program name, but that seems to combine 2 programs into one, but they need the same approval year.

it sounds like you've approached the setup correctly, you may want to ensure all the values in the the records you are retracting are valid in ECC - ie make sure you master data is in sync, for example  have you got new planning versions in BW/BPS and try to retract data back int a system that does not recognise the new values for 0version as they are not in the master data of the ECC system

  • Removing multiple approval year linkage

For a project, it has multiple approval year for eg. 2008 and 2010 (Investment management) at diferent WBS elements level ,we need to remove 2008 and then proceed further to complete with 2010.

    Dear Suresh,
After you finish to process the approval year carry forward (transaction IM27_REPEAT), you have to carry out capital investment program closure (transaction IM27_CLOSE)
This way, the new and old measures (WBS elements) will only receive the budget from one investment program position
    Hope it helps

  • Unable to load Program Position Hierarchy in Investment Management

When trying to load 0PROG_POS_IVPR_HIER we get the error message that no hierarchy exists in the source system. The program position hierarchy is in IMPR in ECC. It's there, but somehow the data source isn't seeing it (or is pointing somewhere else?)
Everything is active/replicated on the BW side and in RSA6.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Adam,
Have you performed below tasks after replicating into BW:
    1. In your Infopackage used to load hierarchies, under 'Hierarchy Selection' tab click on 'Available Hierarchies from OLTP' push button.
    2. Select the RADIO buttion relevant to the hierarchy which you want to refresh from ECC also select the CHECK BOX under 'Relevant to BW' column.
    3. Select required UPDATE METHOD and then under 'Schedule' tab run the START to see if data flows into BW.
Let me know the outcome in case above is not done yet.

  • Reporting across multiple applications

I'm currently evaluating solutions for integrating heterogenous datasources in university/college legacy applications.
Our applications are all based on Oracle databases, but we have little knowledge and access to the inner structure of these
databases. And the databases themselves are old, and have been the victim of constant extensions.. thus there are plenty inconsistencies,
duplicates and the likes. We also have some commercial applications like SAP, that we'd like to integrate.
Our primary goal is to generate reports using data from multiple datasources and integrate these reports in our new JSP/Coocoon based portal.
Now I've been looking at Discoverer and Repors for this.
         - What are the requirements for these tools, only OAS or do they require (or recommend) a datawarehouse solution?
         - How are the possibilities for quering multiple datasources and then merging the results as simple as
possible with these tools? Can I define queries into the source databases/applications as "fetchable information slices"
and then let the end users go nuts combine/manipulate these as they wish in realtime?
         - Does these tools have any data cleansing possibilities? Eg. detecting inconsistensies?

    Hi Phani Kumar,
You can report on multiple applications.
If you are using EVDRE, then in the application cell, you just need to change the name of the application. You can have multiple EVDREs pointing to different applications.
Another option is to use the EVGTS function, wherein the first parameter is the application name. You can hardcode the application name.
    Hope this helps.

  • Reporting across previous 12months (year)

I have a reporting requirement where I need to show all the previous 12 period balances across the year, when the user enters a posting period. I’m trying to run this on a consolidation cube, where I transfer period balances from the general ledger line item ODS. My question is:
    1.     How can I get previous 11 periods, is there any variable that can achieve this?
    2.     What if the user enter Jan as a posting period and then he wants to see till previous Jan? I tried using the variable offset value as –1. –2. –3 etc. but when I enter 2 (posting period) as the variable, the report gets back period 2, and 1 but not last year period 12. How can I achieve this? Is there any std query which does it, so that I can go and take alook.
Any insight or pointer? Thanks in Advance.

    Sri,
You need to use something with year in it - either fiscal year/period or cal year/month.

  • Can ARD fetch reports automatically across multiple partitions, without being in a particular partition?

I'm trying to run reports across multiple client computers that have data on 2-3 partitions per Mac.  Is there anyway ARD can report to me data across partitions and not just the current partition the Mac is on?  What I have to do now is restart into every partition and get ARD data off, too time consuming.
Also, where does ARD store it's reporting data?

Partitions are... old school. And it will interfere with Startup Disk, with OS X.
You could have used Windows 7 entirely and no sign of OS X (which can be installed and booted from external drives).
I like to use multiple hard drives: boot drive for system, another drive for data, and also backup, scratch etc.
If you use Windows 7 system image backup you should be able to restore any system in reasonable time and manner.

  • Investment management - Assignment od AR to Multiple program Positions

    Hi,
Does any body has worked on a scenario of assigning the appropriation requests to more than one program positions.
I know that the AR can be assigned to more than one position. But i am not able to see this request in IM52 T code which is used to distribute the Budget to measure from Investment program positions.
Request you to share your views.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
As I wrote earlier this is a constraint in the system that an investment object (say top level WBSE) can receive budget only from a single IM prog node. You can check this for yourself at the following place:
    SPRO=>Investment Management=>Investment Programs=>Master Data=>Define Program Types
Check the 'Budgeting indicators' and uncheck 'Single Assignment' indicator.
When you try to save you'll get following warning message:
    =================================================
Only single assignments are allowed when using budget distribution
    Message no. AP276
    Diagnosis
You specified budget distribution in your program type. When budget distribution is activated, you can assign measures and appropriation requests to only one investment program position. Multiple assignment to different program positions is not allowed.
    System Response
The system does not allow the combination of budget distribution and multiple assignment.
    Procedure
When using budget distribution, set the 'single assignment' indicator.
    ==================================================
Further, with every thing being correct, the current status of your Inv measure should allow Business transaction 'Budgeting' other wise this Inv Measure will not be visible in IM52 T-code.
Hoping your client gets convinced with this info.
    with regards,
    Ravi

  • Forecast Roll-Over Script across multiple years

    Hello Experts,
I currently have the below Script and Prompt but it only works for one Fiscal year and I need help changing it so that it can be used across multiple years, my issue is below:
If I have project TEST and it started in 2013.011 and ends in 2014.004, I have forecast values for all periods so when I run the script I'm prompted to "select forecast year" and "select forecast version based on previous period"
So when I run from 2013.11 (forecast version P11) to 2013.12 (forecast version P12) that works fine but it's not working to roll-over from 2013.012 to 2014.001
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thx,

  • I want to use spiceworks to report on the status of bitlocker across multiple

I want to use spiceworks to report on the status of bitlocker across multiple customer sites and domains, I didn't want to use MBAM as it is complicated and I just wanted to report if bitlocker was enabled or not.
There have been a lot of discussions but I was looking for some thoughts and experiences that were concise on the whole process ie how to implement spiceworks across multiple sites, and then into the reporting. Or is that too much to ask in one discussion?
    Thanks!

  • Substitution - Investment program name, approval year and position ID

    Hi,
I wish to create substitution in my level 1 WBS to populate Investment program name, approval year and position ID, but these 3 objects are not substituable fields in table GB01.
    RAIP1-PRNAM
    RAIP1-GJAHR
    RAIP1-POSID
I have configured to use "Only Exit" as the field in txn OPSN. Our developer has informed me that the exit routine could not work due to no parameter.
    Anyone can help?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Call the FM "AIPP_ALLOCATE_POSITION_DARK" in the substitution exit.

  • Can Windows Server Backup spread a single backup job across multiple disks if they are not set up as a virtual disk?

This may be a dumb question, but I can't seem to find any definitive information after having done many, many searches.  Short question is - can Windows Server Backup spread a single backup job across multiple disks if they are not in a storage
pool or some other RAID/JBOD structure?
    Background:
I'm running Server 2012 Essentials with all Windows Updates installed.  I have been backing up approx 2.8TB of data (Bare Metal Recovery, C:, S: (shared folders), and system reserved) for the past year+ onto a storage pool made up of two-2TB external
USB drives.  Backup is slow (takes approx 1.5 days to complete), but generally works.  Not surprisingly I was constantly getting capacity low messages so I decided to increase my backup storage pool by adding a 3TB drive and another spare 750GB drive
for a total of 7.75TB.  Instead of having four separate external USB enclosures, I bot a 4-bay enclosure - Startech.com model #S3540BU33E to simplify this (or so I thought!).
The first problem I had was adding the two new drives to the existing storage pool. I think that is because the Startech uses a JMicron USB controller that reports identical uniqueid's for all drives so only one shows up in the GUI interface for creating storage
pools. After doing research on this, I set up a new storage pool and virtual disk using all four drives via Powershell and thought I was good. However, when the backup ran, it failed after filling the first drive, saying there was no remaining capacity. In
reality there were three remaining empty drives and there storage pool reported almost 5TB of avail capacity. I assumed this was due to the identical uniqueid issue so I decided to try a different tactic.
Instead of using a storage pool that combines all four disks into one virtual disk, I just added each of them to Windows Server Backup as individual drives thinking it would manage them collectively. I.e., when a drive filled up during a particular backup,
it would just start using the next drive and so on. Apparently this was a foolish assumption because the backup failed again as soon as the first disk filled up.
So now I don't know if this is still an issue with the identical uniqueid's or if Server Backup actually can't spread a single backup across multiple individual drives that aren't in a pool or other virtual disk implementation. Hence, my original question.
My guess is that it does *not* spread them across individual disks, but I just wanted to get confirmation.
    Thanks

    Mandy,
Thank you for following up on my question.
Unfortunately the article you referenced doesn't address what I am trying to accomplish.
The article focuses on saving the same backup job to multiple disks and rotating the disks between on and offsite for enhanced protection.  However, it still requires that an individual backup job fits on a single disk.
What I am trying to determine is if a single backup job can span across more than one physical disk (during the backup process) without those physical disks being in some type of virtual disk implementation (e.g., storage pool, RAID, etc.).
    Thanks,
    Gerry

  • How can I share a *.java source file across multiple projects in NetBeans?

I'm sure this simple and a pretty common operation but how can I share a *.java source file across multiple projects in NetBeans? Right now I keep cut, coping and pasting the same source file between multiple projects to re-use the same code. But I could I make this source file a library file or something like that so that I could access it from any project. I assume this would be a generic operation but I mentioned NetBeans for clarity. Thanks.

I know I mentioned NetBeans but I'm most interested in the generic method for creating a library of source files that I can call into whatever program I am developing. I've done such a thing in C using header files and such but I'm trying to get a direction on how this is accomplished in Java. I'm sorry if I could edit the title I would. If anyone wants to be specific about NetBeans I welcome that too.

    Create a class library.
Write your code, compile it to .class files, put those class files in a .jar file and include the jar file in the classpath whenever you want to compile a project against it.

  • Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??

I am looking to move from an outdated Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to OS X Lion Server but I am unsure as to how Lion will handle email. I do not want to spend money on a new windows server if I can get a Mac Mini Server to do the job. I am a very small business with a number of email accounts for a couple employees and need access to email and calendar from both the office iMac's and my Macbook Pro when on the road. My IT guy says I need Exchange but he's been off base on a few other items recently and I wanted to check with other sources.
I have 2 new iMac's, a MacBook Pro, an iPad1 and and iPhone4 on the mac side of things and 2 windows computers running XP. I would get rid of the windows computers completely if not for my CAD program which runs best not in a virtual machine mode.
How well will email and calendar entries sync across devices?

I have a very similar setup at my office. Lion Server will push email, calandar, contacts to all of your apple product with out a hitch.
As far the Windows XP machines, you can access email over IMAP with Thunderbird, and calandars via sunbird or the built in web app.
I would ditch the exchange server move to Mac OS X Server, and never look back.
    God Luck!
PS. All of your devices will be in sync all the time.

    Yes.

  • Nokia E71 Calendar Memos across multiple days

    Hello,
    I recently got a German Nokia E71
    (E71-1 Software Version: 100.07.76 08-06-2008).
I noticed a strange behavior of the calendar:
When I create a memo that goes across multiple days (lets say 10 days or 14 days) In Month view the memo is shown correctly for the set time. Also when synchronizing with MS Outlook the memo is shown correctly on the PC.
But when you open the Memo directly (open day view, select the memo and press the center of the nav-key) then the memo is displayed to last one day longer than originally specified.
For example I created a memo that should end on the 11th of September (actually it starts in August so maybe spanning the Month barrier may also cause the problem) but it is shown to end on September 12th when I open it. Although it is shown correctly in Month view (shown on 11-Sept, not shown on 12-sept).
    Maybe you have similar experiences?
Or an explanation for that behavior?
    Thanks and regards,
    Sebastian

I think I'm experiencing the same thing, Sebastian.
Phone: E71 bough from 3 in the UK ~20months ago.
    Firmware: 100.07.76 08-06-2008 RM-346 E71-1 (241.02)
    Here's how it happens:
Step 1)  I create a memo on the calendar with the phone.
Step 2)  I do an Ovi sync over the air (i.e. there is no use of the PC Suite or Microsoft Outlook going on).
Step 3)  Some (but not all) of my single day memos are spread over two (2) days.
How it should look when correct: http://tinyurl.com/ovi-cal-memo-right
How it actually looks when wrong: http://tinyurl.com/ovi-cal-memo-wrong
As you can see in the 'wrong' example, instead of memos showing up as lasting for 1 day duration it's apparently "23 hours, 59 minutes" in duration, and ends on 18/07/2011.  And yet it's spread over the 18th and 19th on the month view.  The correct date (as entered and displayed on my phone) is actually the 19th!  The same goes for all those other 'wrong 2-day memos': they should all only be shown on the second of the two day bar that's visible in month view.
At the moment, for some unknown reason, the problem seems confined to April-October of this year (and subsequent and prior years) and dates are stretched back by a day so they appear on the web version of the Ovi calendar as lasting for two (2) days instead of one (1).  But I think that the problem has been more widespread and across-the-board in the past, and it may have put dates forward by an aditional day (although I can't be sure on that.
Thankfully, all these memos remain as correct on the phone and seem to be unaffected by the sync.
When it first happened I made an attempt to correct the Ovi Web Calendar memo sync problem before (thinking it was a once only bug) by going through all the Ovi calendar entries on the web interface and tidying things up that way.  But I'm not prepared to go through all that hassle again.
It's a real niggle, to say the least.
    What can be done?
    Thanks for any help.
