BI Scheduler - remove Telephone Settings from users

Hi
I upgrade to obiee 11.1.1.6.2 BP1. In 10G I set up system subject area to set a mail address in all profiles of my users.
In 11G I kept the system subject area but I'm not sure if it's really getting the details from there. I also configured AD-Authentication and assume that the user-settings are from that source.
My problem is now that all users have a mail and a telephone set in their profile, this because it seems that it gets the data from active directory. What I want is to use the mail address but to disable the telephones.
Does anybody has an idea where I can influence the whole configuration?

Ok, let me try to be clearer. At log in, I only want my name (backfilled) and my password (to be entered). As it is now, hen I log in, I have one account with my name (backfilled) and a filed to enter my password + an :other account", If I click the "other account", I have to enter a name and password (that I do not know). I want to remove this "other account" from log in. Thanks, Ch.

Remove Throttle policy from users

Hello guys,
We have deployed Blackberry and i want to remove BESPolicy Throttling policy from all users. We have Exchange 2010 Sp1.
But that Script available on the Technet is not working on exchange 2010 Sp1.
Is there any alternative Cmdlet to find bespolicy users and remove the Bespolicy from users ?

BESPolicy should only be applied to the besadmin accont and all other users should have the default/customized policy.
If you have BES policy applied for all users, just get all mailbox in bulk and set a new/default policy

You can use [Personalization|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/42/ed3ce7f8593eebe10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm] to do this :
1. logon as an admin and navigate to Portal Content > Portal Users > Standard Portal Users and open Every User Core Role
2. right click on User Profile and select edit
3. click on the Preview button then right click + CTRL on the iView and personalize the User Profile iView
That's it.

Removing Proxy Settings from a Networked Macbook

Help needed.
Since updating my operating system (10.8.2), I have been unable to access the internet at home. Whenever I try to open a page the message appears saying that it has been unable to contact the proxy server. However, I have already removed the ticks from use proxy for http and https and I have tried to set up two locations one work where proxy settings are needed and home where they are not. Nonetheless, when I try to access the internet the same proxy message is returned.
Any advice greatfully received.

Fnd_user_pkg.updateuser - Remove End Date from Users

As part of an upgrade, we need to end-date the vast majority of our users.
I've used the fnd_user_pkg.updateuser API to populate the end_date on the fnd_user table.
However, when I've come to test removing the end-date, I can't seem to do it. In the example below, the end_date remains populated.

However, that's not really removing the end date, it's just setting it to a long time in the future.
I wondered if I might be missing something obvious?

Remove open workitem from user inbox after the workflow starts again.

I have heard that there is a possibility to remove a open workitem from the user inbox, after the workflow starts again for the same object (data update), via a termiantion event. I have searched in the sap workflow dokumentation but i could not find out how to use this. Could somebody provide me some detailed documentation or examples how to use this for my problem?

the workitem which should terminate is a decision task with two results. The wolkflow looks as follows:
Activity: Read Data
Decision: Approval Check Decision
Activities: Approve or Reject
How should it look like in your opinion with the termination? How looks this option to terminate this workitem? The workitem should terminate automatically from the userinbox if the workflow starts again for the same object (with updated data).

Remove DEFAULT BUTTONS from User Form

Hi.
At the bottom of the Create User Form are 6 standard buttons :
SAVE..........BACKGROUND SAVE..........CANCEL..........RECALCULATE............TEST..........LOAD
I would like to remove some of them.
How do I do this?
P. S. I am aware of the "*noDefaultButtons='true'"* command. This is not what I want. I would like the default buttons to remain. For instance : SAVE and CANCEL.
I just wish to remove others.

The code for the default buttons are not likely to be found in a form but rather defined within the java code embedded in the jars.
Regarding the definition of the other buttons you are unfortunately digging into areas of Sun IDM that are not very well documented.

The difference between the background save and a regular save (as you noted), from what I'm guessing since it's not well documented, is the definition of the processInputs.backgroundProvisioning in the field name. (Most buttons don't have field names since they don't need to push data back into the user view.) It's being set to "true" but the command is the regular "Save" button command. (The save button command instructs IDM to process the changes WITH form validation as opposed to SaveNoValidate.)
This means that when the button is clicked the user view is being updated with the processInputs.backgroundProvisioning option set to true. Obviously IDM uses that flag to process the user view differently.
Again, how and why that is used is not well documented. The only references I can find is in the ViewConstants and UserViewConstants classes in the javadocs but there's really no explanation about the use of the backgroundProvisioning variable.
This is easily my biggest complaint about IDM. The options you need to customize the product aren't exposed properly to a developer. Sorry I can't be of more help. You've run into the same brick wall many of us have.

Remove Gateway Alias from user

Hi Everyone,
I am having alot of trouble with Gateway Alias. They were how we did alot of our external mail but with 2014 you are supposed to move to "Preferred addresses". However I am unable to find how to remove an old Gateway Alias from a user in the web interface. Does anyone know where this is buried?

It Does not appear there for me. The only options I see are:
Groups
Owned Resources
Nicknames
Group Administration
When I check under "Internet Addressing" and "View Emails addresses" it lists a gateway alias for that user.

Networking dual network logins and cant remove admin status from user

I hope someone can help. From my the computer management\system tools\shared folders\open sessions\ on our server admin panel, I have 3 users logged in as admin or administrator and they shouldn't
be, they should be logged as their own user. The user rights as dictated by the server is all correct but this is bugging me and the other users are all ok.
On another point, how do I have some users replicated, in one case i have one user on 4 times, twice as HB1-Andy and HB1-ANDY ?
Hope someone can help as this has got me completely confused.
I tried to do a screen shot but the forum wouldn't allow it until the account was verified.

Did you refer to Computer Management\System Tools\Shared Folders\Sessions of your local computer or your Server?
From client, we just could see the following status:
How did you know If they access the shared folder as admin？

Locking Settings from users....

Is there no way to lock the settings? Really? I can't hand the ipad to a somebody and prevent them from noodling?
I don't want to have a passcode on the device, just on the settings....any way to do it?

Not that I know of... I don't see an app from the app store that can lock the settings for the iPad. I have to admit this would be a nice thing to be able to do.

Proxy settings moved from User to Machine not removing user settings.

I have recently moved our company's proxy settings from User based to Machine based as we were having issues after moving from an internal proxy to a hosted external proxy. What we found was after turning off the internal some users were no longer
getting external internet.
After some investigation we found they were still getting old proxy settings on login and after a GPupdate.exe or normal gpupdate from the server the correct settings would apply. (happened to users logging on for the 1st time) To prevent this from happening
I moved the proxy settings to the Computer GPO and it all appeared to work in the test GPO and in live. But a few days later we got some calls logged to our help desk stating they don't get external internet. After some more
investigation we found that they are still getting the user policy applied to them even though it has all been removed from the User GPO.
I found if I remove the proxy settings it doesn't always apply to users but if I add info in it always updates to the user. What can be causing this? Some of these users have local admin rights and I thought at first it might be something they
did but now we are getting non admin users with these issues.
We are using IE 10 and have set the original Proxy settings using the GUI internet control panel and are now applying the proxy settings via Registry updates in the Computer GPO and enabled "Make Proxy settings per-machine" object. Our SOE
is Win 7 ent x64 with IE 10 (1500 units) and Win 8.1 ent x64 IE11 (100 units) And some XP SP3 that are in the process of migrating to Win7.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.

I guess you used group policy preferences; that worked as "one time settings", so as long as the policy exists it will be merged with the Settings on the users computer. Please find a detailed description on

So you now have 2 configuration items: your policy as well as the users registry. So to remove that you already moved the Settings from the user configuration to your Computers configuration (that worked as you described) while the Settings
in their HKCU are still there - you Need to either implement another policy to remove that, or you can set it empty.
Don't set it to "not configured" as that will keep your old setting deployed before.
Sometimes I found in more easy to implement another user preference that removed the Registry key with the Registry keys to remove a Setting instead of Publishing a "remove Setting" configuration.

Can't Remove IE Maintenance settings from group policy

Dear Techies,
In group policy under IE Maintenance I configured
some settings like home page and proxy settings etc, now I removed all
settings from group policy, I cleared every thing but still I can see the IE settings under group policy.
1)automatically detect settings                   Disabled
2)automatic browser configuration             Not configured.
Now
the problem is I am giving some proxy settings in IE manually when I
restarted the system proxy settings are getting empty and again I have to
give them.
Please tell the procedure to remove IE Maintenance completely from group policy.

If GPO settings are not removed completely or settings were not saved correctly, this issue may occur.
Let’s try to check if Registry settings was changed when changing IE proxy settings.
1.   Open IE and change proxy settings. Click OK to apply.
2.   Open "regedit", navigate to
HKCU\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
   In the right panel, are Proxy settings correct?
3.   Log off and test. If the issue persists, please help to collect gpresult log.
Run "gpresult /v >>c:\gpresult.log", send gpresult.log to [email protected]
4.   On DC, open GPO, navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Group Policy,
Double-click Internet Explorer Maintenance policy processing, Make sure it’s Note Configured or Disabled.
Navigate to IE Maintenance, right-click Internet Explorer Maintenance, choose Reset Browser settings. Delete all file in the following folder.
\\FQDN\Sysvol\FQDN\Policies\<GPOGUID>\User\Microsoft\IEAK
Note: Replace FQDN and <GPOGUID> accordingly.
5.   On client, delete files in the following folder.
%windir%\System32\GroupPolicy\User\Microsoft\IEAK
Documents and Settings\<<username>>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Custom Settings\Custom0\

Since I had a problem with my Mac's drive that suddenly failed (I am able to read ONLY), I replaced the internal HD with my emergency HD that I had backedup a few months before. I would like to know if there's a way to copy my settings from one mac to another? Is there a specific folder for all apps or do I have to find out each and every single file for each app?
I need the settings for
System (view, font, color,)
Finder (view, etc)
iTunes (that include all library, playlists, etc),
Firefox (Bookmarks, settings & plug-ins),
Safari (Bookmarks, settings & plug-ins),
Address Book (contacts)
Thuderbird (emails accounts, contacts, passwords, etc)
Stickies (stickies on the dock - i have info on there unsaved)
Filezilla (FTP infos)
Would appreciate.

All that info is found in your user/library folder, I just did a 60 machine rollout and copied all those settings from user/library, just be forewarned that if you upgrade software those setting will not take on the machine, for example Adobe CS 3,4 will not usable by CS5. let us know if you need more help. Also make sure you copy most of your preferences in the user/library/prefences folder.
Note: If you are using an identical backup with all apps and user settings, you can just copy all folders from user to your new home folder. Remember that only if the image or backup is identical to your production OS.

How to remove Userscripts from Greasemonkey without enabling Greasemonkey? (I have deleted files from user/gm_scripts/ didn't help)

I installed an addon named Chat Resizer, which is for Kongregate, restarted to finish the install and firefox would not open.
Clicked it and clicked it nothing, Opened Task Manager, Ended the firefoxes and tried to open it again but nothing again.
Started FF in safe mode, cannot remove chat resizer with greasemonkey disabled, trying to enable it to remove it firefox refuses to start.
Uninstalled greasemonkey, FF works as normal, install it and it freezes once more.
Removed files from user/appdata/roaming/mozilla/profile blah blah/gm_scripts which had files for all of my scripts in them,
Firefox still won't start, uninstall greasemonkey, works again, install, doesnt work even with files for the scripts gone.
Any more suggestions?
