BI Scheduler service stuck in stopping state

Whenever I try to stop BI Scheduler service on my machine, it gets stuck in a 'stopping' state and I have to restart the box to get it to work again. When I look at the log, I see the following error.
[nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=recv: (Number=10004) A blocking operation was interrupted by a call to WSACancelBlockingCall
The environment is Windows 2003. If anyone has anyone faced this issue before, can you please share your solution?

hi,
No need to restart the box just Click on Task Manager-->Process-->NQScheduler.exe (search for this process) and click on End Process.Thats it and go back to services it will trun to Start mode...

  • Azure Cloud Service Stuck in "Stopping" state for a long time (12 hours)

Does anyone have suggestions what to do with the issue I have. I tried to stop my Cloud Service the service is now basically stuck in "Stopping" State and been there over 12 hours. In my Cloud service there is 16 Virtual Machines I am using in
    testing.
I tried to start Cloud Service but it also failed with error "Could not start the virtual machine deployment.".
Is there something I could do or some way to get Microsoft Support (without paying extra)? I have "Visual Studio Premium with MSDN" so i have no other support but billing from Microsoft :(

Managed to find the solution. I stopped and deallocated all the Virtual Machines. After that the Cloud Service status changed to stopped state. After that it was possible to start the Cloud Service again.

  • Ciscoworks daemon manager stuck at Stopping state

I am working on LMS 3.2 . Tried to stop the daemon service with " net stop crmdmgtd ". It stuck on stopping state since few hours now. I can still open the application. Need a suggestion to terminate the previous command and restart the
    daemon service.

You should have dmgtd.exe process in Task Manager stuck.
Although you can kill it directly and then try the stop command once again before starting. But to be sure if any process in not stuck, best way would be to reboot the server once.

  • VM got stuck in "stopping" state, and cannot be stopped

    Dear all,
I am using Oracle VM 3.2.2.
One of my VM got stuck in "stopping" state, and cannot be stopped.
How can I troubleshoot this problem...

Q: Is the VM still running, i.e. can you ssh to the VM?
Q: Find the server where the VM is running, and restart the ovs-agent, i.e. "service ovs-agent restart". Did this help, or is the agent crashed, any zombies?
Possible root cause: These type of errors are typically ovs-agent bugs. First update oracle vm manager to the 3.2.4 release, not 3.2.6. Next update the dom0s to 3.2.4, not 3.2.6. You may need to setup a ULN 3.2.4 yum repo to update the dom0s. As you can see in these forms, 3.2.6 is may not ready for prime time, stick with 3.2.4, is stable.

  • Windows service entered the stopped state

    hello,
my windows service running on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 stopps two or three times per month undefined with the Event ID 7036 : service entered the stopped state. 10 mins later it starts again alone: service entered the running state.
What I also see is that some other services enter in the stopped state and then enter the running state: with Event ID 7036, but more frequently, means several times per day:
    SoftwareProtectionService
    WindowsModuleInstaller
    ApplicationExperience
    WMI Performance Adapter
    Portable Device Enumerator Service
What is the problem here, I could not find any solution yet.
    thx

    Hi,
Sometimes services are started only when they are needed. Most services you listed are Manual in startup type which means they will be started manually when it is needed.
Also if you disable a service manually, dependency services will also be stopped.
Here are 2 threads which mentioned 2 services in your list and they are also start/stop even 10 minutes.

  • SMQ2 - Found a queue with name "*" and all other queues stuck in STOP state

    Hi all,
We have a problem on the ECC side, on outbound asynchronous proxies. Sometimes a new queue appears on SMQ2 there with name "", and with status "STOP". At this time, all other queues stuck with STOP status... the only way of resetting all those queues to RUNNING state again is to delete the queue named as ""...
Some of you has any idea how this queue "*" appears there and stop all other queues?
    thanks
    roberti

    Hi Ravi,
Is not only about one queue stopped... the problem is this queue named ""... with status STOP, all other queues stops too with it. The only way to make things work again is to delete the queue named as ""... the problem is to discover what or who is creating this stupid "*" queue. I think that this is a procedural error on datacenter, but they are saying is not the case... I'm investigating, but if someone else has any idea about I would appreciate
    thanks!

We have to kill the process and restart the service to get things going again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is not a viable way of doing things for us.

    Hello Gabriel,
Is there maybe an anti-virus software running on the server, which accesses the file at the same time? If so, you may exclude the log file in the AV software.

  • Integration Server Service 9.3.1 (EIS) entering a stopped state

Integration Server Service (EIS) is stopping multiple times during the day and sometimes during the nightly processing. There seems to be no reason to when or why it stops. Sometimes users may be running drill through reports, sometimes no one is. We don't have that may users that have access to the system for drill through so volume shouldn't be a problem.
I have looked in the OLAPISVR log around the time the service stops, but the log has no error or anything in it about why it stops. It has the statement from whatever the last user is logged was doing and then the next statement is where the service is starting back.
On 7/16/08 the service stopped at 2:56:02. I started the service back at 2:57:09. I had 4 users log on and run drill through reports to make sure it was back up. They ran the reports fine. That was around 3:05. The service went back down again at 3:09:16. This has been going on for about a month. But users have had access to the system for only 2 weeks.
This is the version we are running 9.3.1.0.0 Build-AIS93100B113.
    Any help would be appreciated.

The user is requesting too much at one time.
The query compiles long IN lists and stops the server.
There is the ability to regulate the depth of the query in the report, but the Excel user can still drag a range and drill thru on too much data.

  • Windows Services set to Automatic in stopped state

    Hi All,
On windows 2008r2 sp1 most of the services in stopped state after the reboot even that is set to automatic. if i try to start i'm getting a error message stating that "service did not start in timely fashion". I booted the computer in safe and
i tried starting the service it didnt worked out. In msconfig except microsft related services i disabled all the third party services and i tried the microsft  related services like RDS, BITS..etc still same issue persists. Could someone please
guide me how to get rid of this issue.

    Hi,
Did you checked the event log? Base on my experience ,
a number of service stopped often cause by some system file corrupted, please try to run the sfc /scannnow command for the check.
To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start Collapse this imageExpand this image , and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
    2. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. Collapse this imageExpand this image If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation,
type your password or click Continue
    3. At the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:
    sfc /scannow
    Hope this helps.

  • Service Application Remains in Stopping State Between Reboots

These SharePoint service applications are a real pain!
I'm trying to stop a service application, but it remains in a hung "stopping" state (even between reboots!). I've also tried to delete the service application from powershell using "Remove-SPServiceApplication $spapp". But it doesn't
work. Additionally, this service application is associated with a SQL database that no longer exists. Is there a best practice for how to address this?
    Please help.
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
Please provide more information about the issue service application.
You could try executing the following command to unprovision the service:
    Get-SPServiceInstance
    $srvc = Get-SPServiceInstance "GUID"
    $srvc.Unprovision()

  • Cloud service stuck in "Deleting..." state since July 2014

One of my cloud services has been stuck at the "Deleting..." state in the Azure portal (and also shown as such in VS2013 server explorer) since ~July 2014
I can't interact with the role to do anything with it - and have no idea why it won't go away.
Can anyone suggest what I should do about this? Thanks for any help.

  • Cisco UXL Web service is in a STOPPED state!!

    This is on UCCX 8.5
I have a issue where the Cisco UXL Web service is in a STOPPED state!!
    Running this command:
    admin:utils service list
    I see the following:
Cisco UXL Web Service[STOPPED]  Component is not running
I then am trying to run this command:
admin:utils service start Cisco UXL Web Service
    But get the following :
    Executed command unsuccessfully
Invalid service name for start/stop, valid names are:
How do I enable the Web service?!?!?

The UXL service is not used by CCX.
It used by UCM to Conduct authentication checks by verifying the  end user name and password when an end user logs in to Cisco IP Phone  Address Book Synchronizer.
It is just something that was not removed when Cisco ported CCX to the Linux platform, maybe they have plans to use it in a future release.

  • The Service Broker endpoint is in disabled or stopped state.

    Hi All,
I am getting too many errors  messages like "The Service Broker endpoint is in disabled or stopped state." in my sql server error logs. I have two instance with SQL server 2012 along with SP1 (Enterprises Edition) and
enabled Always On features b/w the server for more than 10 users database to meet HADR . My SQL Server log is getting fulled because of this error messages.
I tried below query to identified  Service Broker is enabled or disalbed on all user databases.
    SELECTis_broker_enabled FROMsys.databases
    WHEREname= 'Database_Name'
    Output was 0
I can't alter the database statement to enable Service since its configured in database mirroing.
Does it affects the performanc of the database/instance/with database mirroirng or should Ignore the error message.
Any Idea how to troubleshoot the issue
    Thanks
    Raghu

    Hi,
It’s a default behavior. The message will show when AlwaysOn availability group Listener is created and SQL Server binds the Listener’s IP dynamically.
There is no method to suppress the message. These messages are informational message and do not cause any harm and can safely be ignored.
    Thanks.
