  • Integration with url iview

    Hi everyone,
I have a web application and Portal and My aim is this two systems integration using url iview but I don't want to use Application Integrator.I want to use only URL iview with url parameters. My wish is to enter URL Parameter = uname(static) and Value = portaluid(This value should be get dynamically from portal).Consequently,How can I get dynamically portal userid in the url iview value. Is that possible?

    Hi Mehmet,
Is there a reason you don't want to use application integrator? Because it is quite simple to create what you want using application integrator.
I don't think URL iView supports dynamic parameters...
Check out the Howto document for application integrator here:

  • "Error while using XML iview" with XML iview template

Our portal platform: HP-UX,  WAS 6.40 JAVA, EP 6.0 SP14
We created an XML iview using XML iview template and configured the XML source URL with RSS feeder addresses such as"https://forums.sdn.sap.com/rss/rssmessages.jsp?forumID=41". And then select RSS to XHTMLB as the XML transformation format and save.  When I try to preview the iview, I always got error "Error while using XML iview, please contact your system administrator".  Here is the log and among which I found an error "java.net.UnknownHostException: news.163.com".  Does this indicate that the Portal server is not able to interpret the address of the URL host?

  • BusinessObjects Portal Integration - iView Template Missing

    Hello
I have installed my BusinessObjects for Portal as follows:
    1. We already have BI 7.0 on SQL 2005 on BIDEMOSER SERVER.
    2. Installed BusinessObjects Enterprise 3.1 , Crystal Reports 2008, SAP GUI 7.1 and SAP Integration Kit on this new server name : BODEMOSER.
    3. We already have EP 7.0 on Oracle 10.2 on EPDEMOSER SERVER.
I have installed the BOE 3.1 and Integrated with the BI Server and imported the roles and all the functions are working fine between BO and BI.For Portal Integration i have transferred the masterview file from BODEMO SERVER com.businessobjects.pct.masteriview.par to the EPDEMOSER SERVER.
And it was uploaded in the EPDEMOSER SERVER System Administration--> Support --> uploaded successfully. And I have followed the SSO configuration as per te guide. And values in the Web.xml files are properly as per the guide.
After the uploading the masterview par file i could not able to view the iView template in the System.I have cleaned the cookes and all temp files.
As per the guide I have created an folde name BI_BO and SYstem name as BI_BO_DEMO.Now when I started creating a iView Template by right clicking the System name BI_BO_DEMO and provided the following parameters for each Property Category.
    CRYSTAL Enterprise server:

    Created a System Alias as : SAP_BW
And tested the connection where it gives as
    Test Connection with Connector
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
      Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
Whether i should install the BO Integration kit in EP portal also or any Portal Inetgration kit is available.
    Regards
    Bala

    Hi,
    1. Whether Integration kit for SAP should be installed in EP Server also ( which has been installed in BO server for BI and the SSO for BI and EP STRUSTSSO2 also works fine.
    - the portal is acting as the frontend for viewing content and yes there needs to be trust between your portal and your BW system
    2. the connector parameter and the iview template object parameter as correct as per the distributed enviorment.
When i checked with portal; admin they asked doubt what should be crystal enterprise server ( BO) and the what is the server should connector parameter should have.
    - the Crystal Enterprise parameter do not influence the connector properties and do not lead to the point that the connector settings fail. the Crystal Enterprise parameters are only relevant when viewing SAP BusinessObjects related content.
Make sure you connector settings work even without the Crystal Enterprise parameters first.

  • How to use a Web Template with queries from multiple BW Systems?

    Hi all,
can anybody help me how to use a Web Template with queries (DATA PROVIDER)in it from multiple BW Systems?
    Thanks in advance, best regards
    Frank

Great! Thanks for the quick response.
Have you tried this for XMLA datasources created within the EP system also?
i.e use Web Analyzer to create a view from the XMLA source and use that view within WAD?
    Thanks.

I am trying to use a XML iview for fetching RSS feeds from one of the internet source, i have entered the proper URL and selected the proper RSS to XHTMLB transformer also and have entered the proxy settings in the http service and enabled it and restarted it also, but again when i am previewing the Iview its giving me the error <b>"Error while using XML Iview, please contact your system administrator."</b>. I am using
        Area           Version
        J2EE Engine    6.40 PatchLevel 98256.313
        Portal         6.0.14.0.0
, can someone tell me whether its a bug in sp14 or i am missing something while creating this XML Iview. Expecting a proper reply.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Sarabjeet.

    Hi Sarabjeet,
The XML iView uses server-side fetching, so if you are having problems with a regular URL iView in server-side fetching mode, so the problem with the XML iVIew probably has to do with the proxy settings.
And since you got a 407 error, it seems there is an issue with proxy settings or the proxy server, as mentioned in this description of 407 error:
The HTTP 407 code only applies to users who are accessing the Internet behind a proxy server. This is common in government and corporate workplaces. The 407 code indicates that your computer must first authenticate itself with your company's proxy server. Check with your IT department or computer support group as to the exact reason why you may be getting this error. It may be possible that the proxy server does not allow downloads of specific files (exe, cab, com). You can also verify that your proxy server settings are valid.
I will check if I can find out any more specific info.

  • IView Template used when uploading role from R/3 to Portal

    Hi all,
I was wondering what iView template is used when you upload a role from R/3 that contains Web Dynpro ABAP applications.  I want to change some of the default parameters in the template, more importantly, close the Detailed Navigation panel on the left.
    Hope this makes sense,
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
From your explanation, it seems you can see the iViews in Portal role editor under Content Administration.
    Under Content Administration
    Open the Role for Editing
In the Editor, select the iview and Click on OPEN button.
Now, you should be able to see the properties of the iView in the Editor.
Please check for the property "Code link", which give you the details of the class or template in use.
    Hope, this will help
    Cheers!!!

  • No flexibility to use diff RFX templates during the RFQ-- RFx integration?

    Hi,
I know for a fact that we can only use one RFx template during the RFQ --> RFx process integration. This RFx template is tied to the Integration Configuration Document.
Current customer has different Group functions such as Nuclear, Corp etc. Document security templates on RFx events need to be set such that an RFx created by a user in Nuclear Group function should not be visible to users in Corp.
This can be realised using Document security templates defined by Doc Type. But the issue is that RFQ's created in ECC can only use this one RFx Template associated to a specific type.
Are there any plans in future releases to make this more flexible and not tie all the RFQ's to a single RFx template?
Due to this restriction additional scripts need to be written to ensure code of conduct in the Sourcing app.
    Thanks
    Rach

    Hi Rachith,
Great to catch you back in the forum
Just fyi, choice of templates during RFQ replication is supported starting in Wave 9, which is yet to be releassed.  Configuration requirments to do this will be available with Wave 9 documentation.
In releases prior to Wave 9, adding a template node in the xml might not be of help, unless some code downport happens.
    Thanks,

  • Java Stack mandatory for a SAP BI system integrated with EP?

    Hi Guru's,
Currently we are using SAP NetWeaver 2004 s version 7.0 system for our BI.
This is integrated with the EP. But our BI system does not contain the Java Stack installed.
When we work on WAD templates and execute  the template, it is automatically directed to EP portal where we can see our reports.
Here my question is do we need Java Stack for this system to use ADOBE DOCUMENT services or can it work with EP only for the web functionalities.
Any info on this is of great help.
    Best Regards
    Kumar

    HI Reddy,
We came to know from our basis team that we do not have the Java Stack installed in our BI 7.x system yet.
As it is integrated with EP which has Java, our web reports are working.
    1) But my question is still do we ned to install the Java Stack in our BI system as i do not find any Export to PDF option in EP for the reports (eventhough AS Java supports this).
    2) Or can we use the existing configuration without Java STack integrated to EP for the new tools like Report Designer and Integrated Planning?

  • Problem in creating iview template in EP7.0

    Hi,
I getting the below message even after creating the iview template in EP7.0
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."
    Created through:
content Admin --> portal content --> <folder>new --> iview --> seleting "Portal component - create an iView from a portal component contained in a deployed portal archive (PAR file)" <next> --> seleting "com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap" <next> --> webdynpro <next> --> finish.
Open object for editing...--> Object is a Template to Yes.
    Result :
content Admin --> portal content --> <folder>new --> iview --> seleting "iview template- create an iView from an existing iView template" <next> which displays the same message.
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."
    Rgrds,
    Suri.

    Hi,
do have the right permissions? You can check this using the Permission Editor (Applications, PCD)
What role are you assigned to? Content Administrator? System Administrator or even Super Administrator?
Doesthe same error occur when you're logged in as Super Administrator?

  • Custom xml transformer provider for xml iview template

I have been trying to get a custom simple xml transformer to work, which will show up in the xml iview template.  I have seen the SAP Help docs and the recent weblogs on the subject.  I can't get this simple transform functionality to work.  I can get as far as registering my own transformer, however I get an error on the page when trying to use it: "Error while using XML iView, please contact your system administrator."  My understanding was all I needed to do was provide a xsl, a transformers.xml file, and a service reference in the portalapp.xml.
All I really want to do is take some xml docs I created and display them in the portal.  I know that I can write a quick java app to do this myself.  However, I am trying to use the built in functionality of the portal (which it appears no one is using except for RSS feeds).
I would prefer to have the output be htmlb from my xsl file.  My understanding was that I should create my own xml tranformer provider and then also use the XHTMLB --> HTMLB built in transformer.
Has anyone been successful in trying to create their own xml transformer for the xml iView?
I am wasting a lot of time trying to use methods in the SAP Help Docs, is it worth the effort to use the transformer method?
    Eager to award points,
    Sean

    Hi
I have successfully deployed a transformer by doing the following:
In PAR, in /dist/xml/XSLLibrary/Transformers, put XSL
In /dist/xml, put transformers.xml file that describes the XSL
In portalapp.xml, add registry entry for transformer and service entry for transformer service.
If you want, you can send transformer PAR and I can look at it ([email protected]).
There could be something wrong with the XSL; this would be more complicated to diagnose.

  • Define iView template for role upload

    Hi
We maintain our user roles in the BI system and use the role upload function in the portal. When a role containing eg. a BI report is uploaded to the portal an Iview for the report is automatically generated based on an iView template. How can I define which template the portal should use for generating the iViews?
    Thanks
    Morten

    Hello Morten,
The templates are defined by the role upload and cannot be changed.
Regarding BI 7 Please see note:  1121962.
Also this are the thing you can configure in the role upload:

  • Siebel integration using URL SWE Commands

    Hi everybody,
I am working on SAP EP6 and I want to integrate Siebel 7.0.
The 1° step I 've tried to implement is an URL iView calling the Siebel specific SWE Commands:
    http://<myserver>/callcenter/start.swe?SWECmd=ExecuteLogin&SWEUserName=<username>&SWEPassword=<password>
And then I was thinking to use Application Integrator to dynamically pass userName and password to the URL system.
But I encounter problem trying to implement the 1° step:
    - I have the following error calling SWECmd=ExecuteLogin:
'top._swe._sweapp.S_App' is null or not an object
    - I read that this can be coming from IE proxy parameter. So I add Siebel server in proxy setting so as to not use proxy going on Siebel sever.
==> After this, if I make a preview on my URL iView, it is working, I have no error any more and I go on Siebel Home page.
BUT when I access this iView by the portal (not as preview), I always have the error !!
    Has somebody any idea ?
Has somebody already integrate Siebel Home page in the Portal using URL iView or Application Integrator ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Fabien

    Hi Fabien,
did you find a solution for this in the end? I am getting a javascript error also.
For now: my solution is to launch in a New Window outside the Portal
Have you come up with anythign better?
    Regards,
    Jim

  • How can I modify column width in a spreadsheet report without using an Excel template

I currently use the LabVIEW Report Generation toolkit in LabVIEW 2011SP1 to create simple spreadsheet reports that I can build/print without having Microsoft Office products installed.  I really like being able to do this, and it allows me to generate nice on-demand data reports - I'm also not tied to having Office installed on the system I'm using, so this works on just about any test fixture I can install the software on.
I recently have a requirement that I must have variable-length columns in my report.  I currently use the VI "Append Text Table to Report" in order to create a text table, but the column width requirement is that all columns must be equal width UNLESS I use an Excel Template file to define my column widths.
    My questions are:
Is it possible to create a text table and define per-column widths without using an Excel Template?  If so, how?  My report mainly has a lot of small numerical values for the columns, but some columns contain system names or status messages - I really hate the longer text blocks wrapping and taking up so much real-estate when if I could control the column widths I can get all my data on a single line.
I'll admit I haven't tried this myself yet, but if I use an Excel Template will that require me to have Excel installed on the PC in order to print/generate reports?
Is there a recommended way (with an example) of generating a text table in a report with or without using the "Append Text Table to Report" VI that allows me to have custom column widths that doesn't require me to manually build a custom print page?  If I do have to create a custom print page, what would be the most straightforward approach?
    Thanks!
    -Danny

Sure, I'll provide a pared down example that demonstrates my use-case:
I have a control to the VI that takes in a 2D array of strings representing the data I want printed in a table.  I am generating a standard report, adding a table to the report, and printing it.  The first VI is "New Report.vi", the second VI is "Append Table to Report.vi", and the third is "Print Report.vi", all found standard in the Report Generation palette.
Note that the "Append Table to Report.vi" has an input parameter "Column Width" with a default value of (1).  This input parameter is a single input parameter, which defines the column widths of ALL the columns in my table - hence, with the VI the way it is, all my columns will be 1 inch wide.
I find myself needing to be able to define per-column widths, not just a single global column width parameter.
The only way I have found to do this is by using an Excel template file.  The "New Report.vi" takes in a "template" parameter, and if used, the report generation toolkit can be set to ignore the "Column Width" input parameter on the "Append Table to Report.vi" by setting the width value to -1.  Instead it will launch Excel, open the template file provided, build the table using the template, will close Excel, and will attach the generated table to the report.  However, I have a strict requirement that Microsoft Office NOT be required to be installed on the computer.
So, without using Excel, is there a way to generate a table in a report and define the width of each column individually?
