BI7.0 Installation

In 2004s can we install BI ABAP+JAVA at a same time . Or do we required JAVA instance to be installed .

Yes, Java is required as part of the technical foundation of the system for BI in SAP NetWeaver 2004s (the term 7.0 is not used anymore). Note that the EP (portal) and BI-Java usage types must also be installed. You have the option at installation of installing all usage types (BI, AS-ABAP, AS-JAVA, EP, and BI-JAVA) through the tool SAPInst.
You have the option of installing all usage types on one server for the Central Instance, which one be one SID (aka SAPSYSTEMNAME) in one DataBase. ANother option is installing seperate "stacks" on one server, where BI and ABAP have their own DB and their own SID (SAPSYSTEMNAME), and JAVA, EP, and BI-JAVA have a seperate SID and DB. This may be preferable for scalability as the "stacks" can later be seperated onto their own servers if necessary.

Doubt about JAVA stack and ABAP Stack

Good day!
Hope can help me with my next doubt. I understood that BI JAVA or JAVA has been embedded in the Java support package stack for portal. But for BI7 the installation for JAVA is by sps. We only use pure support package for BI7, we don't use support package stacks and we don't use JAVA. I'm not sure because i don't made the sap installation in our enterprise, how can i be sure if we have installed java in BI7 and if we don´t have installed, should I install Java in our sap system? what are the benefits and consequences if I decide install it? and what is the difference about BI java (portals) and JAVA stack for BI7?
I try to find some information but I found some information about bi Java for portals, but not for BI.

BI-7.0,JAVA:BI-Java is used to provide the Java runtime for scenarios such as Enterprise Reporting, Query, and Analysis as well as Business Planning and Analytical Services.BI-Java requires AS Java and Enterprise Portal Core and EP in the same system. Optionally, you can combin with other usage types in one system. Usually, scenarios running on usage type BI-Java also require usage types BI and AS ABAP. While installing BI-Java, AS Java, EPC and EP get installed automatically. Usually, when running on usage type BI-Java also require usage types BI and AS ABAP, you should be aware that no matter if you run BI and BI-Java in the same or in separate systems, both BI and BI -JAVA should be kept in sync in terms of Support Package Stacks.
BW 7.0 is now called as BI 7.0. There are many differences between them in areas like extraction, EDW, reporting, analysis administration,etc.,

No 'Handle Duplicate records' in update tab

Hi,
I've a DTP from ODS/DSO to ODS/DSO and I got a Duplicate record error, which I find rather strange for standard ODS/DSO. I read in the help and within these forums that it can be fixed with the 'Handle Duplicate records' checkbox in the update tab. Trouble is that there isn't such a checkbox in our BI7 SP15 installation.
Any suggestion on the reason for that and how to fix this and more important on how to get rid of the duplicate record error (and the reason why it's occurring)?

My suggestion is to try by selecting the setting unique data records...

Installed Netweaver 2004s with Rapid Installer , can not connet to BI7.0!!!

Hi,
I installed Netweaver 2004s with rapid installer but i can not connect to BI7.0 with SapLogon 710. SapLogon waiting for response forever. What are the post actions after I installed the Netweaver 2004s. I can connect to portal by IE.
I am new to this so any help will be greatly appreciated.

OS is Windows Server. SAPID is IKI. I am the only one trying to connect to BI so DPMON is not the issue. I wanted to stop and start the SAPIKI_03 service but I can not stop it, maybe it is related to that.
What are the post steps after installing rapid installer?
How can I make sure that I installed Java+Abap stack or only Java?

1.Goto TCODE u2018STZACu2019 and set the System Time Zone and Useru2019s Default Time Zone to india(whatever u want)
2. give the permission to portal folder's.u can find PDF for that using search string "How to configure permission for portal" in google.
give all the permission as PDF says.

BI7 Business Explorer Installation Problem

I am new to BI, after install SAPGUI Front End and SAPBIGUI and then install BI7.10 Business Explorer 1000 patch. However when I go to Program -> Business Explorer -> Analyzer, an Excel pop up, click on the Bex Toolbox ("xxxBEx Analysis Toolboxxxx") Open icon, an foreign language label show "Offnen" , double click, no response. Move over other icon show like German "Sichern" "Atkualisieren" "Werkzenge".
Normally, it should allow me to click, and let me select "Open Query" or "open Workbook", however if I use the BW 3.x, it works fine.
Please let me know what goes wrong.

Error while executing Report in BI7.0

Hello Friends,
My BI7.0 system is a fresh installation.
I have created a query using Nw2004s Bi Frontend-Bex Query Designer.
After saving the changes when I click on Execute Button (in between Saveall & Check buttons) I am getting an error in the browser
The page cant be displayed. & the URL is
http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=IC_SLS_Q001&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1
Is this URL correct one? Or do i need to make any further settings ? If so what are those settings & where they need to be done?
Why am i not able to execute the Bex report in the browser?

Further to what Manjunath has pointed out..
Note Symptom
After pressing the "Execute" button in Web Application Designer, Query designer or Report Designer, the url is not valid. Possible variations are:
The server is not included
The port is not included
URL is like http:///irj..... (missing server & port)
Other terms
URL generation, Execute Query, Execute Web Template, Execute Report
Reason and Prerequisites
Missing configuration of the portal. Check following:
      1. Start the transaction SE37
      2. Call the Module RSWAD_URL_GET
      3. Fill the parameters as follows
           I_ACTION: NEW
           I_OBJTYPE: QU
           I_TECHNAME: QUERY
      4. Execute and check the result
      5. E_URL=http://<your expected server>:<your expected port>/irj/...&QUERY=QUERY
Solution
If the result is as you expect, the problem is not in the configuration. In other case please do following:
Run the transaction SE16
View the table RSPOR_T_PORTAL
Execute it (expand the width to see the parameter URL_PREFIX)
Check if there is a prefix for your portal maintained
If not, correct it editing this table directly.
For any other configuration problems please read the note 917950

What is the equivalent selection in BI7? (Following BW 3.5 How to...Set up BW Statistics)
I am trying to install BW statistics and all the good things that come with it for BI7. Following the instructions in a document that I was directed to on this site, in SBIW, I installed and replicated all the datasource in under TCT tree (Technical content)
The instruction is for versions prior to BI7 and I had to make modifications as I go.
Now, this instruction direct me to go to:
rsa1, Bi Content (left) and then InfoProviders by InfoAreas and select all InfoProviders for the InfoAreas BW Statistics and BW Metadata under the node Technical Content.

In BI7, there is no BW Statistics and BW Metadata infoareas under Technical Content if I follow the directions strictly.
What is the equivalent of this in BI7?

In the instructions, the author continues to collect these InfoAreas from under Technical Content:
BW Data Slice
BW Features characteristics
BW Metadata
BW Statistics
In BI7, do we need exactly these? Or, now different? Should I just transfer all the infoareas under Technical Content? What is the disadvantage of collecting a ALL?

for post installation unable tp connect go.bat
im giving right password

503   Service Unavailable
Application cannot be started.
Details:   com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: Naming error.

BI Post Installation /JCO Destinations

Hi all,
I am having some troubles getting the Netweaver BI functionalities to start running.
We have just upgraded our BW System to Netweaver 2004s and installed an add-on Java Stack.
Both the ABAP Stack and the Java Stack have the most current patch level.
I followed the SLD post installation Guide and I think I did everything as described, including the prerequisites described in the SAP Notes 983156 and 917950.
I do want to add that I am a functional consultant with quite a lot of experience in BW and BPS, but very little knowledge in Basis technology. Our Basis collegues know only little about Java, so we are trying to work it out together.
I imported the content though the SLD and created our ABAP System as a technical system in SLD.
I then tried to use the post-BI installation wizard. The following steps 1-9 are executed without problems:
1.     Create RFC Destinations in ABAP
2.     Update Table RSPOR_T_PORTAL
3.     Create RFC Destinations in Java
4.     Create System Landscape Folder
5.     Create BW System
6.     Set System Alias
7.     Add ACL
8.     Set Master System
9.     Download Engine Certificate
I get following error message when trying to install step 10:

I also noticed that I cannot maintain the JCO destinations both in the web dynpro content administrator and in the transaction SPRO.
In the web dynpro content administrator i see the buttons, but they are greyed out, in SPOR the "execute" button is missing.
From what I read, I get a feeling that the symptoms might be connected, but I ran out of ideas what the problem could be.
Does anybody have an idea?
I would be very grateful if somebody could help.

I am trying to install BI7.0 and as a part of it I was successful in installation part but when i am trying to check the prerequisite for the notes 983156, I was stuck at the point of bringing the system BI7.0 in to the sld, from the note I can infer that to bring the system in to sld we need to use rz70 and give the gateway details over there (host ,service) when I try to continue with the default values i was not successful to bring the system in to land scape can some one guide me for the steps to bring this system in to land scape.
Any documents of ur previous installation would be appreciated.

Creation workbook in Bex BI7

when i create new workbook in BI7 i get the massage "creation of item GRID_1 failed". the long text is

BEx Analyzer cannot generate VBA code due to security settings.
System Response
VBA code is not generated.
Procedure
Choose the menu path, Tools -> Macro -> Security.
On the 'Trusted publishers' tab, select the 'Trust access to Visual Basic Project' checkbox.
Press OK..
Close BEx Analyzer and start working as before.
This access is needed during the generation of the VBA code only.*
The configuration in the excel macro security is o.k.

Now the thing is that i have identified which DS i would be working (0CO_OM_CCA_9)..the IC is 0CCA_C11
Can any body please guide me down the steps for installation of the objects and what special care do i need to take ..coz I want to purely develop the Data Model in BI7.0 format and not in BW 3.x..

Migration of 2lis_11_vahdr DS into BI7

Dear Experts,
I have issue with 2lis_11_vahdr data source.
I hope this DS is not support BI7 directly, I relpicated it from R/3 and Migrated into BI7.
Now while converting the existing Infosource into Transformations Iam getting fully mapped Transfermations.
I have installed 0SD_C03 cube also.
I would like to load dats from 2lis_11_vahdr in BI7 with all BI7 option I mean using Transformation method(if content transformation available plz let me know).
Please help me in this...

Hi APC,
1. Select the required source system in the BI content tab.
2. In BI content, select grouping as install objects Before... search for the Cube you want to install and transfer it for the installation.
3. Select the check boxes for the installation of objects.
4. Check Data flow is avaialable properly from Cube>Updaterules>info source>Transfer rules>data source.
5. Then try migrating in the order update rule> Inforsource> transfer rules and then the datasource.
Hope thses steps will help you..revert the migrated data source back to 3.X form and try doing this.
