BIBeans 9.0.3 install on linux

Has anyone managed to install the 9.0.3 BIBeans-linux package? I unpacked the zip file, and ran runInstaller and it goes into a loop trying to cd to non-existant directory in the install tree. Since runInstaller is just a shell script I looked into it and it is trying to cd into $CMDHOME/install/linux which does not exist. I have tried a ton of hacks to the shell script to get around it including cd'ing way down into the directory tree where there is actually an install/linux dir but then it can't find java or the shared libs.
Thanks,
Nate

Hi Nathan,
I get exactly the same problem as you. I am running Suse 8.1. However, there is a workaround. If you have another Oracle product that uses the OUI, such as the 9.2.0.1 database CDs. Insert Disk 1 of 3 for the database and start the installer. At the 2nd screen where it asks for a products.jar file and a oracle home name and directory you can use the file browser to point to the products.jar file located in the unzipped BI Beans directory.
Set the oracle home details to point to your JDev home directory and the installer should work
Hope this helps

then unzip the BI Beans file to a new directory.

    Hi,
    Have you try to increase MaxPermSize, it may occure memory issue.
    change the Middleware/ORACLE_BI1/oui/oraparam.ini and fine it like below
    JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=" -mx512m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m" then try to change it
    JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=" -mx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=2048m"
    (i.e:It will increase the numbers for allocating more memory) then save it and then try to run config.bat (software only/enterprise) method and configure it.

  • Odbc driver error while OBIEE instal on LINUX tries to access Datawarehouse

    Hi All,
    I have installed OBI Apps on a LINUX machine.The ETL too ran successfully.As we can't install BI tool on LINUX I modified the OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd file on a Windows machine and copied it back to the LINUX machine.After modifying the NSQConfig.ini file I could see all the OBI Apps answers and Dashboards ie OBI Apps was installed on LINUX.But whwnever I try to access some data from OLAP i get the following error:
    Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).

    Probably this is because all the DSN specified in the rpd file were present on the Windows machine.I don't know how to modify these values for LINUX.Please help.Nothing is mentioned in the install docc as far as LINUX installation is concerned.
    regards,
    Soumya.

    I think when your BI Server is running on linux, you would use native drivers to connect to your data warehouse database and not ODBC. If your data warehouse is on a oracle db server, change the call interfact in the RPD connection pool to OCI and give the tnsname for the db server connection in the connection pool.

  • Can OAS9i and Portal be installed on Linux RedHat(kernel 2.2.19) platform?

    Hi,
    My question is the same as the subject written.
    Can OAS9i and Portal be installed on Linux RedHat(kernel 2.2.19) platform? Basically, first, I can't find the OAS9i "*.cp" image files for RedHat Kernel 2.2.16 or later use, second, what I can download from OTN site is V1.0.2.2.1 which is for Linux RedHat Kernel 2.4.3-12 or later use. And I downloaded all the files which OAS9i version is V1.0.2.2.1, and failed to install on my platform. So I want to know is there anybody installing OAS9i and Portal successfully on RedHat 6.2(Kernel 2.2.19, glibc 2.1.3)? Or can share on other RedHat version had any successful installation processes or suggestion. Thanks in advance.
    Regards!
    Frank

    9iAS 1.0.2.x is only supported on Redhat 7.0 and Suse 7.2

    Why is your "requirement" to install in graphical mode?  Once you are past the installation itself, the only thing that buys you is that your server will have been configured to boot up to runlevel 5, running a graphical desktop (gnome or kde, I forget which).  And what does THAT buy you on a server?
    I do not run ANY of my Linux servers "in graphical mode" -- running a graphical desktop.  Nor did I run a graphical desktop when I had Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX servers.

    I'm trying to boot windows on my ASUS notebook.

    Now I know that I don't need MBR at all (but google told me that recovering windows = recovering MBR..)
    Are there any ways to recover boot information on EFI system partition from Linux without using Windows Live CD and it's bootrec.exe?
    I have bootmgr and bootmgfw.efi files on /dev/sda3 (partition with windows installed), what else I need? Simple copy of bootmgfw.efi to /boot/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi and addition of custom menu item to /etc/grub.d/40_custom does'nt work. There is Windows now in rEFInd and GRUB menus, but there is error on loading.

  • Installed Debian Linux over my entire hdd. how to reinstall os x?

    I installed Debian linux for ppc over my entire system using a usb drive. OS x is gone. How do I get it back? My internal optical drive doesn't work. I put the Tiger install cd that came with the computer into my second computer macbook in target mode. The linux system could read the disc, but I can't figure out how to boot from it. Any ideas? This will likely take some Linux know-how. The linux guys at the forum weren't any help. I think they were a little bitter that I wanted to switch back.

    Fixed it. I just removed the internal hard drive disk and restored my Superduper disk image back onto my drive.

  • Is it suitable install Arch Linux on a USB key?

    I want to install Arch Linux on a USB  key following the wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … _a_USB_key
    But I now heard that Arch Linux will be very very slow than LiveUSB because of USB's bad I/O speed. Is it real?
    Forgive my poor English, thank you!

    Actually I spent some times to study USB, and I concluded out that it is relate with USB's performance, as example, USB 3.0 is better than USB 2.0, SLC is better than MLC.
    So the better performance of USB the more suitable to install Arch Linux. However, it will costs me much money to buy expensive USB:)

    I'm trying to install Oracle Linux 5.8 on Virtual Box. I have downloaded V31120-01 and burned to the DVD, I think successfully.
    However, when I start the Virtual machine, I get the Opening screen, "Oracle Linux" the little picture of the penguin guy, etc, so I think my DVD is good.
    The screen says, "To install or upgrade in graphical mode, press the <enter> key." So I do.
    Several lines of text flow across the screen, but then the process seems to stop with no prompt on what to do next or any indication that an error has occurred, it just stops.

    I'm not sure if it's waiting for some input from me, or if there is a problem, but nothing happens beyond this point until I power down the virtual machine.

    There is no need to burn a DVD because Virtualbox can directly mount and boot from the .iso image you downloaded. It is usually a good idea to check the md5 checksum of your download with the number provided by the download page to verify your download is not corrupted. There are no problems installing any version of Oracle Linux under Virtualbox provided you have the right hardware. I suggest to check the Virtualbox documentation.

  • Installing 11gR2 (linux.zseries64) on oracle linux 5 guest system failed

    Dear experts,
    I decided to post a detailed thread since it seems my last thread is totally forgotten. Hopefully, this thread could clarify my problem of installing oracle database 11.2.0.2 in oracle linux guest system in windows 7 host system. Sorry about that.
    I installed oracle linux 5 update 6 x86_64 bits guest system in my windows 7 host using oracle virtualbox 4.2.12 so that I can install oracle database 11.2.0.2 (linux.zseries64_11gR2_database_1of2.zip, linux.zseries64_11gR2_database_2of2.zip). The oracle database I downloaded has some functions which are not available in 11.2.0.1. These two disks are extracted in a shared folder.
    I followed the instructions in a guide to run the installation:
    # yum install oracle-validated
    It succeeded. and, I used uname -a to return this additional information:
    "Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.32-400.26.2.el5uek #1"
    Then I set these below:
    SELINUX=permissive
    mkdir -p /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1
    chown -R oracle:oinstall /u01
    chmod -R 775 /u01
    xhost + 127.0.0.1
    and, added something in .bash_profile:
    # Oracle Settings
    TMP=/tmp; export TMP
    TMPDIR=$TMP; export TMPDIR
    ORACLE_HOSTNAME=127.0.0.1; export ORACLE_HOSTNAME
    ORACLE_UNQNAME=DB11G; export ORACLE_UNQNAME
    ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle; export ORACLE_BASE
    ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/11.2.0/db_1; export ORACLE_HOME
    ORACLE_SID=DB11G; export ORACLE_SID
    PATH=/usr/sbin:$PATH; export PATH
    PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH; export PATH
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:/lib:/usr/lib; export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    CLASSPATH=$ORACLE_HOME/jlib:$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib; export CLASSPATH
    Then, I set DISPLAY environment in terminal:
    export DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0.0
    Finally, I logged into the guest system as a user, not root, to run the installation. However, I got the frustrating error message:
    [hsl@localhost database]$ ./runInstaller
    ./runInstaller: line 254: /media/sf_My_Share/Oracle/database/install/.oui: cannot execute binary file
    Can anybody please give some advices to fix the problem. The installation is very important to me. Thanks a lot in advance.
