To let you know we have the Generic Seeburger FTP adapter installed without any VAN. So we have currently installed Seeburger BIC map designer tool in our local system to test the proceessing of the EDI file.
We want to how to create mappings to convert this PO 850(ANSI X12) format to xml which can be used in XI for further processing using BIC mapper and also let us know if this file is been ANSI X12 850 is converted to xml will it process the above mentioned file in XI.
Please let us know the clear steps of how to use BIC mapper tools are we dont have any idea about BIC mapper as well as processing of ANSI X12 messages in XI.

  • Building own schemas in Seeburger bic mapper

I'm consulting for Utilities industry and looks like Seeburger does not have custom schemas for this industry type. Using standalone software bic converter and mapping designer, is it possible to
    1. build custom schemas from standard EDI X12.
    2. and once I build custom schema, would this be saved as xsd?
    3. can this xsd be used to convert / map to an IDoc (xsd) using bic mapping designer.
    4. does this come with Seeburger adapter cd or a separate cd (free / with cost)?
    5. Finally, its latest version number?
I know I have several questions. Please let me know...I will reward them handsomely
Please send me answers and not links to documents. I get totally confused and lost with these Seeburger documents!
    Thanks,
    Pam

    Hi,
    1. build custom schemas from standard EDI X12.
Yes you can build custome schamas as per EDI Industry standards. Also we can have the pre standard schemas after installing the seeburger on server.
Also you can get exact manuals from the server/vendor.
    2. and once I build custom schema, would this be saved as xsd?
    Yes you can use it.
    3. can this xsd be used to convert / map to an IDoc (xsd) using bic mapping designer.
See in general ,BIC / some edi converter can be used to generate the xsd.And also you can map the BIC mapper , if you use then you have to configure the eeburger adapter with bic modules.
    4. does this come with Seeburger adapter cd or a separate cd (free / with cost)?
I hope Yes. you can have , but some cost.
    5. Finally, its latest version number?
    Vendor specific.
I hope you can have all seeburger links in your previous forum question.
I have given lot of links.

    Chilla..

  • Seeburger BIC Mapper

    Dear experts,
Would you know whether BIC Mapper can manipulate the page encoding in their level? We have a scenario here wherein, the UNOA was sent by the customer, which will nake the data to be 'all caps'. However, the ideal scenario is that it should be not in 'all caps' (combination of small and large caps). Using UNOA, it will all be in all caps.
Can BIC Mapper ignore that UNOA field?
    Kindly advise.
    Thanks,
    Gerberto

You can try changing the encoding using parameter srcEncoding in BIC MD. UNOA is part of encoding ISO 646. You may try to set this source encoding parameter to UTF-8 and try.
You can check Seeburger documentation about BIC MD to see how to change it. To brief it, you have to open your mapping and check properties of that mapping in BIC MD. After the change, it has to be redeployed.

  • Seeburger BIC mapper - CRLF as the segment delimiter

I am trying to configure an E2X AS2 scenario using Seeburger adapters but the sender AS2 channel is failing.  I receive the error "Length limit exceeded - no SEG. delim. found!!!" during the BIC mapping step.  The format of the message I am receiving from the vendor has no segment delimiters and the different segments are simply on separate lines of the message.  The fields are delimited with asterisks.
If I add ~ at the end of each line, and delete all of the CRLFs so that the entire message is on one line, the BIC is able to successfully map the EDI message to XML.
Without having the vendor change the format of the file, what can I do to configure the Seeburger adapters to recognize CRLF as the segment delimiter so I can process the vendor's files as they are currently creating them?

Try  this in the module chain
    localejbs/Seeburger/ReplaceString                  Local Enterprise Bean              key
    Then in module key parameter
    key         searchString         "\n"
    key          replaceString        "~"

    Hi all,
I'm implementing a Invoice02 to 810 scenario, my mapping name in repository is MM_xyz..
But I'm using the standard content of Seeburger...there are lot of mapping transformation..
So do I need to create 1:1 mapping in BIC mapper or can I use See_X2E_ANSIX12_810_V4010 as my mappingName in bic module config...

Dont confuse yourself with the data mapping and the BIC mapping.
Note that the data mapping transforms your IDoc XML to 810 EDI XML. Here you have a transformation logic via the business rules. The BIC mapping is nothing but a structure conversion something you can say like FCC in file adapter which will convert the EDI XML to the EDI flat file
The BIC is at an adapter level conversion as it is part of a module. You actual IDOC to EDI XML transformation is done by your message mapping.

  • Error in BIC mapping

    Hello Pals,
Am using BIC mapping for converting a flat file to xml, am able to convert all formats of flat file but BIC mapper is throwing error if my input file has characters like ä , Ü and § . Upon  removing the special characters from my input file, BIC mapper is giving the desired xml output file, If special characters are kept in input file, it throws error.
I tried to change the BIC data type for the field from A to AN, but nothing seems to be working...
    Kindly help
    Regards
    Vijay

    Hi,
Your characters looks like umlaut characters ..if yes then there is an option for handling them by  specifiying the function mode  setSourceUmlautMode  to ON at child level mapping or at source mapping similarly at target too..
if not then you need to look for encoding which can be set with the option setXMLEncoding/SrcEncoding...options..

  • About BIC mapping designer

    Hi Guys,
Can anybody pls give me overview on BIC mapping designer?
Is that mandatory in seeburger related scenarios? Do i need to have the access to accomplish my business requirements
Because Seeburger has already some default mapppings if i need to prepare any mapping that should be accessible to me right.?
    pls clarify on this.
brief me about BIC modules that would be used in Adapter configuration ? How can we do those modules?

    Hi,
Can anybody pls give me overview on BIC mapping designer?
--> THE BIC Mapping Designer responsible for managing the transformation of messages is an easy-to-use graphic tool, which gives the possibility of providing software for complicated transformations as well as quick performance for those which are less demanding.
This is a graphic tool for the purpose of defining data formats and the information flow diagram. The relation between the source and the destination can be defined easily by means of the drag & drop technology. It may also be extended by a big set of manuals, a code in the JAVA language may be used as well. This enables the implementation of the business logic for any application.
used for transforming and compressing data.
File adapters: EDIFACT, ANSI X.12, TRADACOM, VDA, ODETTE, SWIFT, Biz Talk, XML.
Servicing the data bases via JDBC , ODBC controllers.
    Message compression (GZIP,.. ).
    Dividing and joining files.
Data format and business logic converter.
    List printing generator, data-entry-mask generator.

--> BIC Mapping is required in case of EDI Messages, as Amir had already mention inprevious post if the messages are coming in XML format, then I don't think its mandatory to use.
Because Seeburger has already some default mapppings if i need to prepare any mapping that should be accessible to me right.?

  • Reg: Seeburger BIC Mapping Designer

We are using BIC to resolve hierarchy issue.. <u>As you know we can not pasre more than 2 hierarchy levels in XI.</u>
we have a text file which contains all the records in one row..
    <Recordset>
        <Record00>  1-unbounded
             <Field>
             <Field>
            <Record01>1-unbounded
                 <Filed>
                 <Field>
<b>I did following steps in BIC...</b>
Created Datatype in INHOUSE to user project
    Edit structure and save
    Export structure (msg_....xml)
Run “CreateXMLmessage”, source file msg_....xml, target file XML_....xml)
    Import XML….xml to User Project
Run “CreateMappingXMLToEdi” source file msg_....xml, target file X2E_....xml
    Import X2E….xml to user project..
Run X2E Map by giving our source text file and output will be in xml.
    <u><b>Problems:</b></u>
<b>      In 5th Step. while importing XML to user project i am getting auto correction window which  is changing field occurances and false to true etc.
In 8th Step i am getting errors with conversion and i got the output xml file but with default values which i have given while creating datatype.</b>
I have gone thorugh all the links related to seeburger.
I would really appreciate if anyone thorw some light on the same.
    Thanks in Advance...
    Regards,
    Mansoor.

    Hi
the steps to generatt the file using the BIC is
    1.create the structure in inhouse
2.select the structure you have created , right click then go to the Export, give the destination, the file will be saved at that location.
3.now create the XML message using the create XML Message
4.After creating the XML Message import the XML file .
    5. After importing the file the file can be see in the XML node in the BIC mapper for the inhouse structure you have created.
in this way you can create the XML file.
and the created xml file you cam export as XSD,as XML. or as DTD
if you still face the problem please reply me back
    Thanks

  • Seeburger inbound/outbound mapping options with AS2 adapter

    Hi Gurus,
This is the first time that i am handling Seeburger adapters(AS2 adapter).
    We have the following issue.
We are using AS2 adapter from Seeburger for communicating with Partners (inbound/outbound).
For some scenarios, the trading partners either sends us a flat/csv file or expects a flat/csv file from PI.
And for these scenarios, we are using the AS2 adapter (for sender or receiver channel configuration) .
Now, the main issue is that we need to convert the flat file to PI-XML format when we receive a flat file from a trading partner or we need to convert from PI-XML format to flat file format when we are sending file to a trading partner.
Since the AS2 adapter does not have a File Content Conversion (Like we have in the File/FTP adapter) mechanism, we need to rely on MessageTransformBean (under AF Modules) to do the conversion for us. However, since this module cannot handle deep structures (nested structures) what other alternatives can we look out for ?
I know we can also go for BIC Mapper which is shipped from Seeburger for EDI to XML and XML to EDI conversions. However in this project, we just need XML to flat file/CSV or Flat File/CSV to XML conversions and hence we want to abstain from buying a license for BIC mapper.
Please let me know what other options can we try in this case.
Does Seeburger has anything specific to do the conversions from XML to flat file or flat file to XML (and not the whole BIC mapper tool).
    Regards, Gaurav.

Does Seeburger has anything specific to do the conversions from XML to flat file or flat file to XML (and not the whole BIC mapper tool).
No. Seeburger doesn't provide any such tool/option.
Please let me know what other options can we try in this case.
As per the detail you have provided, you don't have any standard option left. You have to either develop your own adapter module or you can pass the payload directly to mapping and then perform Java mapping on it. You have option of using Conversion Agent but there must be some license cost for it as well.

  • Removal of Line feed from EDI file in IDOC to EDI file scenario

    Hi Experts,
I have one problem related to line feed in EDI file. Currently i am using seeburger mapping to do XML to EDI mapping. After mapping i am using File Adapter(with NFS) to create file in my PI server.
    The line looks like
    UNB+UNOA......
    UNH+1.......
    BGM.........
but i want my file in without line feed
    UNBUNOA......UNH1......BGM
Can this be possible without use of Shell script?
Is anything i can do in Seeburger mapping [i checked BIC mapper in seeburger and see some parameters there]?
    Regards,
    Shradha

    Hi,
I am explaining my scenario in detail:
my Current EDI file looks like
    UNAf1f2............'
    UNBf1f2............'
    BGMf1f2............'
    UNHf1f2............'
now i want my file to be in following format
    UNAf1f2............'UNBf1f2............'BGMf1f2............'UNHf1f2............'
NOTE: to create my current file i am using File adapter with NFS and seeburger mapping.
Can you please tell me a way to remove the line feed from the current file ?
I already tried newline checkbox from seeburger and it is not working. and other parameter i can use from see burger mapping tool which will remove my line feed.
    Regards,
    Shradha

  • Mapping variables in Seeburger

    Hi,
Can anyone provide some information about mapping variables used in Seeburger?
    Thanks in advance

    hi
Seeburger Adapter , if you use BIC mapper to conver then you need the BIC , else you can use another, its all depends upon the Adapter which was installed on server.

  • Mapping and Error handling in Seeburger Adapters ?

    Hi,
    1.   In B2B integration part of PI.Whats the way of doing mapping in XI mapping editor and error handling in the mapping ?
    2. Do you think SEEBURGER BIC mapping designer is must for developing maps ? cant we develop same maps in XI mapping editor?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ram.
Edited by: Ramakrishna kopparaju on Sep 30, 2008 12:27 PM

Whats the way of doing mapping using seeburger adapters
The standard mappings are part of Seeburger Suite and if any additional mapping has to be accommodated, then custom mapping could be developed in Seeburger BIC Mapper tool. This has to deployed on adapter engine then. The other mapping is the normal XI mapping (message, java, xsl) which could be performed based on business logic.
error handling in the mapping ?
The easiest way is to raise Alert based on the errors in mapping.

  • Many .sda files required,EDI,Seeburger?

    hi,
do we need to create .sda files using Seeburger BIC Mapper for each mapping and deploy each <b>.sda</b> file on to XI server using SDM?

    Hi Babu,
Let me tell you the step by step process of SDA creation and deployment.
    1) Go to BIC Mapping designer tool
    2) Create the maps of needed documents(For example if we know that we will be needed EDI 850, 810,855 etc transactions then we need to add E2X(EDI To XML) and X2E (XML to EDI  maps in a project
    3) Select that project folder
    4)Right click on it
    5)Create deployment (SDA) file.
6)Default name of the created SDA file is "Mapping_User.sda"
7)Deploy this .sda in to the J2EE side of XI server using SDM.
Now if you anticipate that you have to add some aditional EDI maps for transtions other then the one covered in the earlier SDA file ::
    1) Add the new maps in the old project.
    2) Create the new SDA file
    3) Again name of the created SDA file is "Mapping_User.sda"
    4) deploy this new SDA file.
    5) It will over write the existing "Mapping_User.sda" .
Hope i have answered your question
Let me know if you need any further clarifications.
    regards
    Piyush
