BIC2G image: Cannot start the presentation services
I just installed the new Bic2g image (released in May 2008). I unzipped the .7z files and I have started Vmware. However, when I start the presentation services, I get the following error:

++The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.++
++Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.++

I checked the Process Control and it says the following services are up (and in green):
Database(including TNS listener)
BI EE(Application Server, Oracle BI servere, Oracle BI presentation server, Oracle BI scheduler)
Please help.
Yes, the application server is up (in green) as seen in the process control window. What am I doing wrong ?

I have tried refreshing the user GUIDS, loading another rpd file in through EM that I know works fine in another environment, cleaning the permissions in the web catalog but all so dar have not resulted in me being able to start the presentation server.
I would welcome any feedback on this as it is driving me crazy!

Not able to start the Presentation services and BI Server
Hi,
My prsentation services has gone down, after the changed the default rpd and oped another rpd which was password lock. De-Commented the AUTHENTICATION_TYPE = BYPASS_NQS and restarted the BI Server and stopped it again, then logged into the rpd without any password and then changed the password and close the BI Admin tool and started the BI Server.
But now the presentation server is not starting."Could not start the BI Presentation Services on the Local Computer. For more information, review system event log....."
The instanceconfig.xml has the right path "<CatalogPath>C:/OracleBIData/web/catalog/xxx</CatalogPath>
the catalog is the same as what is mentioned in the NSQConfig.ini.
Never this this kind of error before.
Can somebody please help.

Sorry i had resolved it. Actually i had done some cryptotools for adding the Impersonator, and when i changed the RPD it gave me error bcos of that, i removed the entries from
credentialstore.xml and also from instanceconfig.xml and the Presentation Services where up.

When I click on the Services option under Microsoft Management and try to start the FIREFOX SERVICE I get this hiccup:

Cannot start the Web Service i created via Services

I appreciate if someone could assist me please?
I have created a service, i can see the service i have created in the "Services". I am using Windows 8.1.
However when i try to start the service i get the error:
"Windows couldn't start the service on the Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied".
I followed the guide below to ensure the user is part of the admin group but i still get the above error:

Based on your description, it seems that you have hosted the WCF Service using the Windows Service. In my mind it is the permission issue, please try to check this article for more information:

I did this by copying the contents of the App.config that i have in my web service project to the app.config in the Windows Service application that hosts my service.
I then ran the following command in VS2012 command prompt:
installutil.exe "Full Path To Window Service Host Exe"
Went into "Services" then I did right click > start. The service started up. -
itunes 11 will not install on my Windows 7 computer because it cannot start the 'Apple Mobile Device' service, what can I do?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Welcome to the Forums.
I've worked with lenovo models that has an embedded Intel HD Graphics (these are units with core i3/i5/i7 CPU) but never ecountered a problem on them in installing Win7 SP1.
If you have one of these units, can you try to:
1. Update your Intel HD Graphics driver by running the Intel® Driver Update Utility (newest driver is v15.28.15.64.3062 (9.17.10.3062)
2. Download and install the Windows 7 SP1 Standalone Installer (choose the windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe 903.2 MB for Win7 64bit)

http://serverrname:7001/em (or whatever port WL is deployed on)
If so, you will see what is not running.
If you are not able to pull this URL up, then WebLoigc is not running. 11g on Windows only installs 2 out of box services, "Process Manager" and "Node Manager". You still need to start WebLoigc or create it as a windows services. From there you can access the EM and manage all the other services. -
Error while starting the Informatica services
Hi All,
I have installed Informatica on my local machine. All of sudden my Informatica services in services.msc went down. If I start the Informatica service means, it is starting in services.msc. But after few seconds it is again going down in services.msc. Again if I start the service then it is starting and after 15 seconds it is going down again and again. I am not sure with the issue.
Due to that Informatica administrator page is not logging in and also I couldn’t connect to any of the Informatica clients.
I checked the catalina.out file and find the below error message:

Error while starting the BI services
Hi,
I am using obiee via windows server 2003, suddenly my OS stopped working and because of which I had to power off my system abnormally. when i logged into the system and started the BI Services, the weblogic service exited with the following error:-
<WebLogicServer> <BEA-000365> <Server state changed to FORCE_SHUTTING_DOWN>
Please help ASAP.

Could not start the TNSListener service on Local Computer
I installed Oracle 10g rel 2 under Windows 2000. The computer is DHCP, so I installed the MS loop adapter, and am able to successfully the new IP address.
SQL*Plus returns this error:
ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
When I try to start the listener via control panel > services, I get this Microsoft Management Console error:

EM console - Could not start the OracelDBConsoleSID service
Oracle 10g, Windows Server 2003
I have problem with EM console. When I restart machine OracleDBConsoleSID is stopped.
When I try to start this service:
Could not start the OracelDBConsoleSID service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
And then this service has status: Staring. EM then work for short time but then again service is stopped.
The Database works without any problems.
Please help!

SFC problem - "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service"
We are trying to attempt to fix a Windows 2008 start up problem. We boot the machine from a Windows 2008 CD and go to the repair tool - command prompt.
When we do the command sfc /scannow, we are getting
"Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service"
We did some researches there someone suggested the trustedinstaller is not running so we tried to do a net start trustedinstaller.
But We are getting
"The windows modulers instaler service is starting
The windows modulers instaler service is starting could not be started
A system error has occured
System error 1067 has occured
The process terminated unexpectedly. "
Anyone can give us an idea to see why we can not run the sfc the first place. ThanksSYMPTOMS:
All attempts to run command:
sfc /SCANNOW
keep returning the following message:
"Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service"
SOLUTION:
If you are using any kind of boot image/disk to boot up, you will have to use the "offline" switches (OFFBOOTDIR & OFFWINDIR) along with the SFC /SCANNOW command in order to start repairing your instalation properly.
please remember to tripple-check for corret partition letters, because this is a crucial parameter for SFC to start working properly.
also make sure to confirm whether so called "recovery" partion exists in your specific scenario or not. If so, in most cases this will render the "recovery" partition being the one to be set as a boot partition (OFFBOOTDIR) within sfc command, while Windows
system folder (OFFWINDIR) will actually reside on a different partition.
My scenario is described exactly above and therefore in my case boot partition letter was C: and system partition was D: ...As of that - the proper command line to run SFC successfuly was:
sfc /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=c:\ /OFFWINDIR=d:\Windows
Successful scan for integrity of all protected system files and replacement of incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions then looks like this:
X:\sources>sfc /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=c:\ /OFFWINDIR=d:\WindowsBeginning system scan. This process will take some time.Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.logwindir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
Once SFC scan completed, I have run the Startup Repair from the repair dialogue menu prior rebooting the system. Remember to click "Cancel" on the prompt for using the System restore in this step. I am assuming you have tried this already time ago and confrmed
it did not resolve the problem, but most importantly - you really would not want to overwrite the files, which you have just repaired with any possibly corrupted ones ;)
After this I've unplugged bootable USB key with the My Windows Vista Enterprise 64bit setup disk image and restarted computer. System booted up properly on first attempt. No issues have been identified as a result of my post boot checks. This completely
resolved the issue in my case. Should you have questions, please let me know.
