Bidding Engine / Cfolders available after SRM 5.0 upgrade??

Hi Experts
Recently we upgraded from EBP 3.5 to SRM 5.0(SRM Server 5.5), we only have the ABAP stack & no Java stack. Our users have suggested to use the "bidding engine" & Cfolders, so what I want to know is
a) Is bidding Engine / Cfolders installed by default during the SRM 5.0 upgrade?.
b) Is Bidding Engine part of Live Auction Cockpit(LAC) & we need to install the LAC separately?.
c) Do I need to install the Java stack for the bidding engine & cfolders?.
An early reply will be much appreciated & useful replies will be rewarded with points.
Thanks & Rgds,
Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,
a. Bidding Engine is part of SRM server and there for use when SRM Server is installed. You are ready to go, customize and use. cFolders are part of cProject Suite and need to be extra installed.
b. LAC is an own component supporting the auction and need to be extra installed. This is also Java based, why you need the Java Stack here.
c. no, Bidding Engine and cFolders are both abap based.
Kind regards,
Clauda

  • After SRM 5.0  upgrade BBP_DRIVER_DETERMINE not calling properly?

    Hello,
We have upgraded our system from SRM 4.0 to SRM 5.0.Before upgrade we are using BBP_DRIVER_DETERMINE to determine function to create PO. If is b470_po_create function then use zb470_p0_create function.
After upgrade we have tested and found that zb470_p0_create is not calling. We put a brakpoint in the implementation of BBP_DRIVER_DETERMINE it will never stop there. Before it was stopped there.
Can any one have flow how PO will create in backend system in Calssic scenario please share(with function module and BADI names).
Please tell me flow after click on order in SC  how PO will create in backend.
Please let me know ASAP..bcoz it is urgent..

    Hello venkatesh,
The standard process flow as far as i know are  as below:
    1. once you order teh shopping cart the workflow asscociated  get triggered  and shopping cart would go through approval process.
    2. Once the shopping cart is approved  the status is set to released.
    3. With the change of stauts "BBP_REQREQ_TRANSFER is triggered.
4.BBP_REQREQ_TRANSFER internally calls BBP_PD_SC_TRANSFER_INTERNAL for new structure(version of SRM)
5.Badi is called to group the PO if implemented else standard way fo SRM for grouping of PO iscarried.
6.Then SPOOL_PO_CREATE is triggered for backend PO creation.
    7. Then  FM META_PO_CREATE is called.
8 Then FM META_BAPI_DISPATCH is  called.
    9. Inside FM META_BAPI_DISPATCH u have the  BAPI  BBP_DRIVER_DETERMINE Called. if this  badi is implemented  it will go to implementation of badi and overwrite the FM name  with  Function module that SAP determine from table "BBP_FUNCTION_MAP".
request you to put a break point at META_BAPI_DISPATCH and check  why its not going to your BADI implementation.
    10. then the function module from "BBP_FUNCTION_MAP or you badi implementaion is called and proceesed further to result in PO.
If for some reason  the "SPOOL_PO_CREATE" fails  then a spool job is created  which spools the creation of PO for later  time.
Hope this is useful to you .
    Reward point if helpful.

  • Scan to pdf C7280 not available after windows 8.1 upgrade

After upgrading to 8.1, my program from HP no longer worked.  Now I cannot scan to PDF on my HP C7280.  my only option now is to scan to JPG or some other useless file type for documents.  I have loaded and reloaded and reloaded the updated driver and complete solution package but it will not finish installing to show me the same HP software I had before, I have to resort to the windows version supplied with Windows 8.1.  PLEASE help!!!!

    Hello gard1104,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you no longer have an option to "Scan to PDF" using the Photosmart C7280. I will do my best to assist you! I realize you have uninstalled/reinstalled the software already. How is this printer connected? Wireless or USB? Let's try a couple of steps:
Please perform a "Level Three Uninstall" on your computer: (If you have this printer connected by a USB cable, then remove this cord from computer.
    a) On the keyboard, hit the Windows key and "R" together. In the Run box type in %temp% and hit enter.
    b) Locate the correct folder starting with "7z" (the correct folder contains "Util" and "CCC" folders).
    c) Open folder "Util".
    d) Open folder "CCC".
    e) Please run the L3uninstall.bat.
    f) When the uninstall has completed, restart the computer.
Also, make sure Adobe Reader is installed on your computer. Please follow this HP document on The PDF File Type Is Not an Option When Scanning from HP Solution Center in Windows. Only perform "Solution Two" from this document.
Next, please perform a clean boot on your computer. I will provide a Microsoft document here to help you. Restart the computer once this step is completed. Now, you want to install the full feature software from the HP website here. Choose your correct operating system; Either 32 bit or 64 bit.
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Bidding Engine & Firewall or other Security measure?

    Hi Friends,
SUS has the benefit that it exchanges messages with SRM-Server via XML messages. So we can place a firewall in between to keep hackers out.
Bidding Engine techically is placed within SRM-Server. So easier for hackers to attack our systems.
I have seen there are some Enterprise Services for RFX and RFX-respose too. Is there a way to place a copy of SRM-Server remotely and use it as bidding engine communicating with the SRM-Server (same was as done with SUS) so that we place a firewall in between too? Or are there other security measures to secure public access to our bidding engine?
    Thanks and greetings, Julian

    John
First of all with out having user ID and password it is not possible for bidders to enter SRM system to submit bids. So Business partners have to be created in SRM with contact person(Bidder) details.
You can try one thing. It is just my thought and I dont know how far it will be viable. I never tried.
Create a dummy business partner(vendor) in SRM and create many contact persons ie one for each vendor with their ID/password and email address. Then select all vendors(like receiving multiple bids from same vendor) and send the bid invitation.
Bidders will login and submit the bids. Then buyer will see the bids from all vendors (actually from one vendor but with different contact persons).
Then buyer can decide on the winning bid and then create a business partner for the winning bid and continue with the purchase activities.
With this you can avoid creating many business partners at the time of creating bid invitations.
Other alternative is, if you dont want to create ID and passwords for Bidders then send tender details to all vendors off line via e-mail and ask them to send the price to Buyer offline.

  • Not All RFx Data Extracted to "0BBP_BID" ODS (SRM - Bidding Engine)

    Hi Expert,
I'm now working on an SRM Reporting in SAP BW especially Bidding Engine Reporting.  I have installed the Business Content of Bidding Engine and do extraction to the InfoProviders.
The problem is at ODS "0BBP_BID" not all RFx or Bid Invitations data extracted.  After I investigate the issue I found out that the data that not extracted is the data with Process Type (RFx Type) Z* (User Defined).
Is there any setting that I have to do so the Process Type "Z*" can be extracted to the ODS?
Please help and give us some solution.
    Thanks,

  • SRM 4.0 - Upload function of Bid Invitations (Bidding Engine)

    Hello,
I am currently working on the Bidding Engine in SRM 4.0
I would very much like to use the Download/Upload function in Bid Invitations, but for now I have the feeling it doesn’t work.
I tested it by downloading a Bid Invitation and changing just one info like an item quantity or description. I put “U” (for “Update”) in the corresponding cell of the “Change” column. I also held the bid invitation in SRM before returning to it to upload the modified Excel-file.
When I upload the Excel file, I don’t have any error messages, but no changes are done either.
Does anyone of you have an idea how I could make it work?
    Thanks!
    Andrea

    Hi,
    Please do the following things.
Excel updown/download is very flexible functionality.
    (BADI : BBP_PD_DOWNLOAD)
    1. You can change the format (how the document should be downloaded, which fields : Control variants in BBPC_UP_DOWNLOAD table)
    2. You can also upload file (your own format : implement parsing method)
    3. You can add your own fields. (APPEND_UPLOAD_DATA)
We are working on one such scenario for Contract Upload.
You can also check the following notes.
There is a SAP Note on downloading BID file.
Note 734060 - SRM: Upload and download of documents using MS Excel
They have given one example in this note. This is a consulting note, you will find it
Two more notes which can help you

    I hope it will help.

  • Supplier Collaboration with SRM Bidding Engine

    Hi All,
I'm looking at the SAP BIdding Engine with regards to supplier collaboration in the bidding process, my undertsanding is that SUS can be used for a single point of access for suppliers to submit their bids. I also understand that cFolders can be used to allow true collaboration in the bidding process i.e. review of bid, submit prices etc.
I have four questions around these scenarios
    1. For collaboration in the sourcing process which is superior cFolders integration or SUS?
    2. What is the advantages of SUS over cFolders in the sourcing process.
    3. Could you use both products?
    4. Can cFolders be used to pose questions from the supplier? i.e. a true sourcing process would usually be:
RFI > Supplier Info response > RFQ > Supplier pricing response
    Cheers
    Chris

    1. Both has diff purposes. C-folder purpose is information exchange in terms of drgs, attachments, discussion etc.
    so kind of technical exchange
whereas SUS forms common window for suppliers for collaberating with buyer co. for BI they can submit the price & conditions.
    So kind of commercial exchange.
    Superiority depends on the perspective
    2. SUS you can use for odercollaberation also
i.e. for PO/SA from MM or EBP ,suppliers can
    send responce
    send ASN
    post confirmation
    post invoice
    3. Yes

  • SRM Bidding Engine and Sourcing Cockpit

    Hi All,
can the SRM Bidding Engine be linked to the sourcing cockpit when using the classic scenario?
What I want to be able to do is to create an RFX from a shopping cart in the sourcing cockpit. We use the classic sceanrio currently on SRM 4.
    Cheers
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
yes, the bidding and auction functionality is directly connected to the Sourcing Cockpit in Classic Scenario. That is standard. In order to be able to create a classic PO from Bidding / Auction, all you need is a shopping cart, you describe you have.
    Cheers,
    Claudia

  • Bidding process in SRM WITHOUT bidding engine

I need to create a bidding process in SRM. I know it is similar to RFQ. I dont need a live auction scenario where we need a bidding engine.
Is it possible to create a bid invitation, accept bids, compare bids completely in SRM and then accept the best bid and convert into PO or contract WITHOUT a bidding engine. (similar to an RFC-quotation process in R/3). If so can anyone please explain the process.
    Regards

If you read the master guide for SRM 5.0 for diff business scenario it will say
SAP® Supplier Relationship Management Server 5.5 (SAP SRM Server 5.5)
(based on SAP® Web Application Server 7.00, comprises SAP® Enterprise Buyer, SAP® Bidding Engine and Supplier Self-Services)
means SRM server is the central componnt which comprises bidding engine also
you don't need any seperate software component (like CCM) for bidding.
It Is possible to create a bid invitation, accept bids, compare bids completely in SRM and then accept the best bid and convert into PO or contract with SRM server.
You need to have correct roles for internal users
    purchaser (.... stal_operational_purchaser)
    and external users
    bidders (... stal_bidder)
what you may need extra is SAP LICENCE for usage of this functionality on PROD system ( not dev)

  • RFI, RFQ and RFI Process in SAP Bidding Engine

    Hi All,
can anyone help me with the following from an SAP point of view, I know how the business process works for each
    1. How does the RFI scenario for bidding work in SAP Bidding Engine? What would the config look like for the transaction type and what would the suppliers response be?
    2. How does the RFP scenario for bidding work in SAP Bidding Engine? What would the config look like for the transaction type and what would the suppliers response be?
    3. Does the cFolders collabortation allow back and forth processing between supplier and purchasing team to enable the supplier to post questions that need answering as part of an RFP process?
    Cheers
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    1. How does the RFI scenario for bidding work in SAP Bidding Engine? What would the config look like for the transaction type and what would the suppliers response be?
In SRM, you can use the same bid invitations for RFI and RFQ.  The process is same. Price can be kept optional in RFI. In the first round of bidding i.e. RFI, yuo can specify dynamic attributes and weighting feature to gather the information from bidders and evaluate respnses.
For accepted bidders from the first round, you can create a follow-on bid invitation for RFQ. Here you can track the history of preceding documents.
The other way is to create two different transaction types for RFI and RFQ. Ensure that you select "No price" option for Indicator: "Detailed Price Info to be Entered in Bid" in the transaction type definitation.
    2. How does the RFP scenario for bidding work in SAP Bidding Engine? What would the config look like for the transaction type and what would the suppliers response be?
Pls follow below URL for more details on biding process:

    3. Does the cFolders collabortation allow back and forth processing between supplier and purchasing team to enable the supplier to post questions that need answering as part of an RFP process?
Yes. It does allow sharing and processing of documents in C-folders during bidding between purchasers and bidders. For scenario details pls follow below link:

  • How to find Bidding engine installed.....???

    Hi
Got a basic doubt to know on how to find a Bidding engine is installed and licenced by seeing the config in the server.
Is there any config to find this?
Because I can see the links "Create Bid invitation", "Process bids", etc,  even without Bidding engine licence.
Please correct me if I am wrong..
    Thanks in advance
    Jagdish

    Christophe
Thanks a lot for your help.
That means even without a Bidding engine license, one can create Bid invitation but cannot publish it. In that case if any one try to publish the Bid invitation then a mail will not be sent to vendor to respond to the bid.
Am I correct? If not please correct me.
Why I am asking this is, I was asked to check if bidding is installed on a SRM server as they want to check the bidding functionality. After checking, I noticed that someone played with that Dev box and created some Bid Invitations from Sourcing cockpit and all bids are in Held status. But I could not find "Process Bid Invitations" link in Purchaser menu. That could be because of not adjusting the menu for Purchaser role. I did not check in depth.
Also client wants to create Bid invitation manually without SC. For this "Process Bid Invitations" link is necessary through which a manual Bid invitation can be created. So I got a doubt whether Bidding is Licensed. If so what is the indication.
Can you tell me what part of bidding functionality that I cannot perform without Bidding license.
Points are awarded for this thread.
    Thanks

  • Bid engine

    Hi experts
I am configuring the strtegic sourcing and shopping carts not complete I can see in Carry Out Sourcing, but I have some doudts:
What is Submit to Grouping ?
What is the action of the system if I clic 'Propose Sources of Supply '?
What roles the user need to have to create bids and live auctions out of the transaction Carry Out Sourcing?
    Thanks
    Nilson

    Hi
SAP Bidding Engine is part of the solution mySAP Supplier Relationship Management.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm50/helpdata/en/56/c34e3c59bfe747e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Purchasers can use SAP Bidding Engine to create and process bid invitations and live auctions for products and services. Bidders can use SAP Bidding Engine to submit bids in response to these bid invitations and auctions.
You can make SAP Bidding Engine available for the following composite roles:
    · Purchaser
    · Operational purchaser
    · Strategic purchaser
    · Purchasing assistant
    · Bidder
Role assignment is not delivered. To incorporate SAP Bidding Engine into the side menu, you need to adjust the roles. See Adjusting Roles in SAP Solution Manager under Configuration -> mySAP SRM 5.0 -> Basic Settings for Strategic Sourcing -> Organizational Configuration -> Adjusting Roles.

  • Bidding Engine in Classic Scenario

We are implementing SRM7 with Bidding Engine.  According to this forum it is possible now to use Direct Procurement (Plan-Driven Procurement) in both Classic and Extended Classic scenario.
However, according to SAP, Bidding Engine can only be used in Extended Classic scenario - is this correct?  Can someone please confirm as we are looking to use a Classic Scenario with Direct Procurement and Bidding Engine.  Requirement is to have both Project procurement (requisitions from ERP) and shopping cart in SRM, going to Sourcing (RFQ/Bid), and creating the leading PO in ERP, not SRM.

    Hello Monica
Bidding is possible both in Classic and Extended classic deployements
As of SRM7.0, you can directcly route the PRs (projects/MRP) from ECC to create a RFx in Bidding Engine. You will need activate the relevant SOA service and a BADI to be activated.
    Following information may helps you
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Implementing BaDI for RFQ Request SUITE Request
In order to use the SOA RFQRequestSUITERequest message, you have to
implement the BaDI named BBP_EBPXML_OUT_BADI. Please create a BaDI
implementation for the interface: REQUESTFORQUOTE with the following
    code:
    METHOD if_ex_bbp_ebpxml_out_badi~requestforquote.
use SOA system type to get the SOA interface
    from bbp_function_map.
    cv_system_type = 'ESASAPXML1'.

  • Use of SUS with bidding Engine

    Dear all,
I want to use the BBPSC18 for request services (external labour). Then I want to use the bidding engine to create bid invitation from sourcing cockpit. From this point I have some questions
    - I read it is not necessary to use SUS for this process. In that case what are the possibilities to sent the bid invitation to the supplier and for them to react on it?
    - What are the arguments in favor / against the use of SUS?
    - Does anyone what time / cost implications there are for the use of SUS?
We are running on SRM 5.0 / ECC 6.0
    Kind regards,
    Arie Ruitenbeek

    Hi,
If you are using request for external labour, then a bid invitation is automatically created as follow on document. You can add service agents in SRM system.
You can have two service prcurement business scenarios in sap srm.
    1. service procurement with loose supplier integration
    2. service procurement with closed supplier integration
In loose integration, you procure services using supplier catalogs and dont need any SUS. check the below link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm50/helpdata/en/6e/1f311d7d73574c8db7525ffffa9746/frameset.htm
SUS is required if you want self entry of confirmation and invoices for suppliers. This saves time and cost on the part of buying company.

    Sanjeev
