  • LAC : Applet not calling & Bidders not able to submit bids for Live Auction

    Hi,
    I am working on SRM 5.O Live Auction Cockpit(LAC) facing couple of issues while accessing it :-
    I have created Auction from Process Auction .Bidders are getting Auctions but unable to submit bids against that .
    Whereas same bidders are able to submit bidds for Bid Invitation .
    Have I missed any customisation ?Additionally following issues are there :-
    1. In Restrictive Bid /Auctions bidders are not getting mail with URL details .
    2. In LAC while clicking on Live Auction tab same screen is getting called .
    Can you let me know will it require to install LAC componant once again ?
    Thanks ,
    Sachin

    Hello,
    We are working on SRM 5.O Live Auction Cockpit(LAC) .Smoke test results are successfull but bidder user is facing issues
    while submitting bid .
    Bidder  user is not able to submit his next bid nor purchaser able to see bids submitted by bidder
    on LAC main screen .Whereas same bidder users are able to submit bidds for Bid Invitation
    Here on LAC main screen bidder is able to submit his bid and bid price filed becomes grey .
    It is observed that LAJCO error"AbstractJcoService.execute(JcoServiceRequest _input, Locale _locale): Unknown exception has occurrsed. Error message is as follows...null" is generating  . But in detailed messgae there is no clarity of issue in trace log.
    Can anyon give more focus on it as we are stuck.

  • Surrogate bidding in SRM Live auction

    Hi,
    While doing surrogate bidding in SRM live auction, system gives following error,
    "You are not authorised to display the auction"
    What settings are required in customisation to bid in live auction on the behalf of supplier?
    Thanks a ton
    Regards,
    NB

    Proxy bidding enables the system to automatically bid on a bidder’s behalf, promoting competitive bidding by allowing bidders to more easily monitor the auction, since it is not necessary for them to enter bids manually.
    <u><b>ARE YOU WITHIN THESE PREREQUISITES?</b></u><b>
    a.)     Proxy bidding can only be enabled for auctions that use the overall best bid validation.
    b.)     Proxy bidding can only be enabled if bid decrements greater than zero have been defined on all line items.
    c.)     Proxy bidding is not available in auctions with lots.</b>
    When proxy bidding is enabled, bidders submit a minimum bid to indicate the lowest they are willing to submit for a line item. The system then acts as a proxy agent and rapidly bids on line items on the bidder’s behalf during the auction, placing bids according to bidding parameters such as next valid bid, bid decrement, and reserve price to maintain the bidder’s leading position in an active auction until the auction ends or the minimum bid is reached.

    Hi
    SAP Bidding Engine is part of the solution mySAP Supplier Relationship Management.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm50/helpdata/en/56/c34e3c59bfe747e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
    Purchasers can use SAP Bidding Engine to create and process bid invitations and live auctions for products and services. Bidders can use SAP Bidding Engine to submit bids in response to these bid invitations and auctions.
    You can make SAP Bidding Engine available for the following composite roles:
    · Purchaser
    · Operational purchaser
    · Strategic purchaser
    · Purchasing assistant
    · Bidder
    Role assignment is not delivered. To incorporate SAP Bidding Engine into the side menu, you need to adjust the roles. See Adjusting Roles in SAP Solution Manager under Configuration -> mySAP SRM 5.0 -> Basic Settings for Strategic Sourcing -> Organizational Configuration -> Adjusting Roles.

  • Live auction Bidder/Bids ---- Find bidder, add bidder not populating

    Hi SRM gurus,
      Our live auction we created an auction from Shop--> Sourcing and when to try to add the bidder thru. tab --> Bidder/Bids --> Find --
    we could see the list of the vendors but if we select the transfer then the required vendor is not populated.
    Any suggestions/oss notes relevant for the same.
    Kindly suggest.
    Reg.,
    Sridhar

    Hi,
    Our SRM component version is 400, and SRM server 500
    Our LAC component is 2.0
    Using the option T Code : BBP_AUCTION using GUI we added using F4 help and we could add directly few of the vendors( two vendors we cant add i dont know y) and created an auction and published. If so I dont see any reason why it is not possible for the same bidders in webbrowser.
    Any thoughts now ?
    The whole process is working for bid invitation for the same vendors though.

  • Live auction Bid rules.

    Hi Guys,
      During Auction Creation, In Basic data tab, we have the option to create "User defined biding rules" at Auction rules.
    How to create these user defined bidding rules. what are the configuration settings needed. If there any document available to define bidding rules please forward to my  E-Mail id:
    E-mail id: [email protected]
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Appa rao A

    Hi Dinesh,
      Thanks for your quick response. Your document helps to how to create an live auction. But my requirement is different.we can create auction with different rules. SAP has provided 4 rules .
    1. Overall Best Bid - English Auction
    2. Best Bid From Each Bidder - Blind Bidding Rank-Only
    3. Best Bid From Each Company - Company Best Bid
    4. User defined bidding rules - <b>Customer specific</b>
    While creation of bid you can choose any one of these options. for first 3 options SAP has provide some ruling.
    But for 4th one customer has to define the rules while bidding.
    My requirement is to define rules for bidding.
    <b>How to define these rules and where to define these rules so that if I select the 4th option while creating the live auction these rules will effect in live auction.</b>

  • What is the difference between live auction and bid invitation

    hi friends
    what is the difference between live auction and bid invitation
    thanks
    regards
    vinaykrishna

    Source SAP.
    BI including Price and non-price variables but LAC Bidding is based on price only.
    BI - Longer response time for Bidders (from days to week) but Bidding short bidding windows (Hours).
    BI - Bidders sees no information on competitors' bid but in LAC Rank,Best Bid , and next bid can be displayed on real time
    BI-Well suited for large variety of goods and services , including ram waterials, services and projects but LAC More suited for commodities or goods and services with standard attributes that vary only slightly from supplier to supplier.
    BI -Sourcing is based on value propositions (.eg. High Quality ,fast deliveries) rather than price but LAC market dynamics of auctions work best when buyer/seller relationship is loosele- coupled.

  • How to initiate Live auction...

    Hi
    We are using SRM 4.0 and configured Live auction.
    In the smoketest UME logon is successfully verified.
    Then selected "Launch applet" button which opens new applet window which is totally blank with blue background.In the status bar it shows "Applet com.sap.srm.la.client.applet.initiator.InitiatorApplet started".
    At the same time I am not able to see "ITS/LOGON" button in the smoketest screen as mentioned in the config document.
    My question is
    1.What should I get in the applet window when "Launch Applet" button is selected and What is the URL for viewing live auction.
    2.How to initiate and where to view the Live auction once auction is created in Sourcing cockpit.
    Please explain me as I am new to Live auction functionality.
    Thanks
    Jagadish

    Hello Jagdish,
    If You want to configure Live Auction, You must do as following:
    Configure J2EE Engine with Live Auction.
    file location: <drive>:\usr\sap\<J2EE_engine>\global\config\srmla\srmla.properties
    check this parameters
    jco.client.client=<your client number>
    jco.client.user=<your comm user>
    jco.client.passwd=<password>
    #SAP Messege Server, GROUP NAME AND R3 NAME
    jco.client.mshost=<application host>
    jco.client.group=PUBLIC
    jco.client.r3name=<your SID>
    #SAP Application Server and SYSTEM NUMBER
    jco.client.ashost=<application host>
    jco.client.sysnr=<system number>
    Try change UM/ITS authentication:
    srmla.um=0
    In file:
    <drive>:\usr\sap\<J2EE instance>\j2ee\j2ee_<number>\properties\mySAP.properties
    EXTERNAL_LOGON_URL=<http or https>://<host>:<port>/scripts/wgate/bbp_la_login/!?~laRedirectURL=
    for https change:
    UM_USE_HTTPS_LOGON=true
    SSO_VERIFYPSE_NAME=<drive>:/usr/sap/<instance>/j2ee/j2ee_<number>/properties/sso.pse
    Properties added for Live Auction
    UM_SAP_SYSTEM_EBD_client=<your client>
    UM_SAP_SYSTEM_EBD_user=<user>
    UM_SAP_SYSTEM_EBD_passwd=<password>
    UM_SAP_SYSTEM_EBD_lang=<language>
    UM_SAP_SYSTEM_EBD_ashost=<application host>
    UM_SAP_SYSTEM_EBD_sysnr=<system number>
    UM_SAP_SYSTEM_EBD_poolmaxsize=20
    UM_DISABLE_DB=true
    Save settings and restart J2EE.
    in transaction SM59 add a HTTP connection to your web host.
    add to your vendor role: SAP_EC_BBP_BIDDER
    add to your purchaser role: SAP_EC_BBP_PURCHASER
    If You create Auction via Sourcing Cockpit You must configure it.
    To do this use role SAP_EC_BBP_PURCHASER -> sourcing -> process auction
    Add prefered vendors, start and end time of auction and click 'Live Auction' link.

  • SRM Live Auction Configuraton

    Hi Guys,
       I am working on SRM 5.0. I am unable to start Live Auction Cockpit. Can any one guide me how to configure SRM 5.0 Live Auction Cockpit. If you people have any document regarding this please forward to my personal Id : [email protected]
    I am getting following error:
    <b>500   Internal Server Error -- java.lang.RuntimeException</b>:
    Unable to connect to R3 to retrieve applet properties. Please check Live Auction R3 connection parameters. Please review live auction application logs for more details.

    Hi Marcin
    Thanks for reply.
    Using Config tool we have configured the following parameters earlier
    jco.client.client = 200
    jco.client.user = basadm (user created in client 200 and assigned sap_all and SAP_new*)
    jco.client.password = password of basadm
    jco.client.mshost = hostname of SRM system
    jco.client.ashost = hostname of SRM system
    jco.client.sysnr = 01
    For this configuration we can able to start live auction cockpit but unable to display the auction. I am getting Authourization error to display/process that auction.
    We also tried with following parameters
    jco.client.client = 001
    jco.client.user = J2ee_admin (default user in client 001 and assigned roles only for Java Applications)
    jco.client.password = password of Java user
    jco.client.mshost = hostname of SRM system
    jco.client.ashost = hostname of SRM system
    jco.client.sysnr = 00
    At this stage we are unable to start the Java Engine(Server0 process not starting).
    Can i have your personal ID so that i can provide document of my problem.

  • What is the diff bet RFX and Bidding Engine?

    Hi Friends
    What is the diff bet RFX and Bidding Engine
    Regards
    Surya

    Hi Surya
    Bidding engine is the component in SAP SRM that we use to conduct RFx adn Live Auctions.
    You can do RFx and Auctions both in SAP SRM and SAP E-Sourcing.
    Inside SRM RFx is also called Bid Invitation.
    In SAP E-Sourcing its called RFx (x could be I=Information, P=Proposal, Q=Quotation)
    Bidding engine is the engine that powers sourcing.
    Hope this clears your doubts

  • Queries on Bidding Engine?

    Hi Friends
    Is Tax calculation possible in Bidding Engine. what is significance of chatting in bidding engine.
    Regards
    Simha

    hi,
    buyers and bidders are login to the auction system for stipulated time. at the end of aution the lowest priced auction will converted in to bid invitation by the buyer.
    we can once again do the bidding process based on the bid invitation converted from  Live auction and the lowest bid will be awarded with a contrat or a PO. This auciton process called revers auciton.
    In LAC consider only price, but in bidding engine consider price and non price variables.
    in LAC bidding was for hours but in bidding engine bidding for longer response time..
    in LAC Can see best bid, rank, compitetor information ,graphical view..etc
    in Bidding engine cont see such information...
    Hope that could be helpful..
    Thanks

  • Bidding process in SRM WITHOUT bidding engine

    I need to create a bidding process in SRM. I know it is similar to RFQ. I dont need a live auction scenario where we need a bidding engine.
    Is it possible to create a bid invitation, accept bids, compare bids completely in SRM and then accept the best bid and convert into PO or contract WITHOUT a bidding engine. (similar to an RFC-quotation process in R/3). If so can anyone please explain the process.
    Regards

    If you read the master guide for SRM 5.0 for diff business scenario it will say
    SAP® Supplier Relationship Management Server 5.5 (SAP SRM Server 5.5)
    (based on SAP® Web Application Server 7.00, comprises SAP® Enterprise Buyer, SAP® Bidding Engine and Supplier Self-Services)
    means SRM server is the central componnt which comprises bidding engine also
    you don't need any seperate software component (like CCM) for bidding.
    It Is possible to create a bid invitation, accept bids, compare bids completely in SRM and then accept the best bid and convert into PO or contract with SRM server.
    You need to have correct roles for internal users
    purchaser (.... stal_operational_purchaser)
    and external users
    bidders (... stal_bidder)
    what you may need extra is SAP LICENCE for usage of this functionality on PROD system ( not dev)
