I'm putting together a new computer-based Big Bang XPower II CPU intel 7960. 2 x Asus HD7970 and memories 4x4 Gskill 2133 MHz. power supply thermaltake 80gold 1475. but I doub the choice SSD, I am thinking of intel 520x2 in raid 0 or 3 OCZ RevoDrive X2 PCI-Express SSDbut I'm afraid that there are incompatibility issues. I need your advice on this subject. can you help me?

  • MSI BIG BANG Xpower II boot issue - LED code 9A

    Hello all,
    I am facing to issue after BIOS update from 2.6 to 2.7. After update was machine working properly. But after one crash of OS cant boot at all. Crash was probably caused by overloading GPUs but there were no issue with cards and this board during 3 weeks of 100% GPU and CPU load. No video (connected only one GPU card), no Numlock key/led is working (this is good test if PC is reacting even no picture).

    Bios: Version 2.7
    VGA:  4x AMD SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 290x
    PSU:   Silverstone 1500W (gold)

    HDD: WD Blue 256gb 5400

    OS: Windows 8.1 64bit Professional
    Tried
    - switch BIOS from A to B also C (with small switch).
    - cleared Cmos with onboard button.
    - removed Battery for a while
    System start booting and stuck always on 9a LED code.
    From manual it looks like it is USB, SATA initialisation phase.
    I think CPU or Mem should be fine.
    Anyone who met this issue or any sollution?
    I am thinking to replace this board under warranty.

    It very well could be setting(s) in the BIOS, but I am not qualified to be of much assistance when Win 8/8.1 is involved.

  • Big Bang Xpower, standalone SSD & 2 disk RAID

    Has anyone attempted to install windows 7 on an SSD attached to the Marvell SATA 3 controller, while also trying to create a RAID array with disks attached to the Intel SATA ports?  Problem I am having is that it seems one cannot use RAID and a standalone disk simultaneously between the two controllers.  If I enable RAID mode in the BIOS, and AHCI mode on the Marvell controller, Marvell setup wants me to create an array of at least 2 disks.  I cannot figure out a way to configure the drive as a standalone disk.
    I could also try selecting IDE mode in the Marvell BIOS, but from what I understand IDE mode doesn't support TRIM, can anyone verify this?  Any thoughts on the matter?

    I've successfully (well.. mostly) run the 2 RAIDS on the Big Bang at the same time. RAID0 with SSD's on the 6GB SATA's and RAID0 with Raptors on the 3GB SATA's.   All of these in AHCI mode.
    There's a certain order that you need to do things in to get AHCI to work successfully.  Disconnect all other drives except for the SSD's.  This is assuming that you're planning to use the SSD's for your boot drive(s) and that this is a fresh Windows7 install.  If it's not a fresh Windows install, it wont really work.  At least it hasn't for me.  
    Go into the Marvell controller and set up your RAID as needed.  Then go into BIOS and set everthing including RAID to AHCI.  
    Install Windows.  Get most of the necessary/required updates out of the way.
    Power down and hook up the other drives.  Boot back to Windows and go into My Computer/Manage/Drive Manager.  Take the other drives you want to run RAID0 on and set them as New Spanned Drives.  
    Let Disk Manager do it's thing.  You should now have a RAID0 array on your 6GB ports using the Marvell controller and a RAID0 array on the Intel controller.
    A word of warning though.   I have just run into an issue with the Marvell drivers and running AHCI.  I started getting BSOD's using AHCI on the Marvell controller. This happened with both the SSD's and the Raptors.  I'm currently waiting to hear back from MSI on a possible solution.   I know that there are new RAID drivers out there, but MSI doesn't have them available.  
    As for the bootable issue, I never had a problem with that. I have been able to select Marvell as my boot decvice and off I went.

  • MSI Big Bang XPower II - Firewire and PCI issues

    yesterday i recieved my new MSI Big Bang XPower II and got some really strange issues:
    First of all ill let you know my hardware:
    MSI Big Bang XPower II (BIOS v1.4) new
    Intel I7 Extreme 3960X new
    G.SKILL 64GB RAM Kit 1600 new
    Palit NVIDIA GTX 680 - 4096 near new
    3 x RME Soundcards used but okay
    7 x WD 2TB SATA where 3 are OS Systems and 4 are Storage used but okay
    Be Quiet Dark Power 1200W new
    1 Problem:
    There is absolutely no Firewire available. I tested the onboard connection (which is at the backplate) and i also tested the extension connection with a additional firewire slot. Also it seems that wether Windows nor Linux is recognizing the firewire at all. The strange thing is that i recieved this new board after i send the first one back to my reseller with exactly the same problem!!! I also take a look into the BIOS if there is any option i need to activate but as far as i see there is nothing to set for 1394?
    2 Problem:
    As you can read above i use my GTX680 and all 3 RME Soundcards each with one PCI Slot. But some of the slots are not working fine. If i, for example mount my GTX680 to Slot 1 and want to mount my first RME Souncard to slot 4 (2 and 3 are covered under my GTX680) its not working. If i try it in slot 6 for example, the soundcard works fine.
    BUT:
    The slot 4 is not damaged cause if i set my GTX680 to slot 8 and retry my RME Cards in slot 4 its working...
    Never had that before!
    I connected the 24pin ATX and both 8pin connectors (the 4pin additional connector for the graphics is not used).
    Would be nice if someone guiding me through the dark

  • MSI Big Bang XPower II - Corsair H60 Water cooling issue

    So I am using a Corsair H60 water cooling on my MSI Big Bang XPower II mainboard.  I have followed the correct instructions on installation but every time I turn the computer on once it its 31 it shuts down.  Everything seems to be working correctly except the cooling.  There are no instructions that really relate well to installation for this water cooling to this mother board so I have tried placing the pump power and the fan power on various different inputs.  I have the pump just on a sys power fan and the 120mm fan blowing through the coils on the back of the machine connected to the CPU 1 head fan (as instructed in their videos).  I am not 100% sure the pump is working but I know that the fan is working and the hardware overview shows it recognizes the fan.
    anyone have some ideas to try to see if I can get this to work? I am also wondering if it is a faulty pump or something but it seems to be working.

    The pump is not working. The 3-pin connector for a fan header is just for reading out pump speed. You need to power it with the molex connector.

  • MSI BIG BANG XPOWER II VIDEO Ooutput / BIOS problem

    HELLO
    recently i Bought BBXPII MOBO and I install ALL when i start it up the Mobo starts no issues but the monitor was on stand by ;/
    I read some comments and i see this MOBO don't support my Processor on the original version of the BIOS crap I have I7 4820K ;/
    I bought new chip with the newest Version of the BIOS i swap it with the CHIP Original installed  I Clear the CMOS  and press multi BIOS button then i plug in  my PSU
    NOTHING monitor is still on stand by i check with 3 Video cards all are working with my sec PC no issues
    i don't know what to do that's sec MOBO first one was faulty and after switching it on one of the chips just spark MSI swap it for new one and that one is not working to :(
    any ideas someone know what i do wrong ?
    the Chip i buy with the BIOS can be  faulty to but how i can check it i guess I cant ;/ 
    then how i can flash BIOS when i even cant get the MOBO boot ? and i will not buy older CPU to start the MOBO that will be just insane  and i don't have any one who can barrow me one for 5 min ;/

    Finely MSI contacted me  and i get my RAM nr I spend 40£ to send the motherboard to MSI in Netherland yee i was happy someone will deal with the problem I have and they will update my BIOS to make sure my CPU will be compatible with the Mobo.
    Today I receive my  MOBO back I was really happy i connect all and i get in SHock nothing the same issue no Video output Monitor stays  black just like was before the debug panel is off nothing running
    i check and the serial nr of the MOBO is different what mean its total new Mobo and probably coz i cant get it running its same old BIOS i spend 40£ probably to  swap new Motherboard for New Motherboard but not to fix the issue and the issue was simple i need version of bios 2.3 or higher to make it work with my CPU I7-4820K
    now I don't know what to do the shop where I buy the Mobo dont want to help me and when i ask for my money back they seid its after the 30 days period and i cant get refund i just wasted 284£ all in for nothing a big black garbage what taking only space in my room now  with MSI LOGO ON IT
    In MSI eyes People don't buy new rigs they just upgrade stuff

    I was should have  old PC with I7-3930K and then i decide to  buy new processor that how MSI Think (Why to buy 3820k or 3930k when u can get 4820 or 4930k for allmost the same price ? )
    but my mistake was i  buy new processor and new Motherboard and cant get it run because in that NEW MOBO is 1.2 Ver of BIOS and without having old CPU u cant update :(

    Specs:
    * MSI Big Bang Xpower v.MS-7666-1.1, AMI BIOS v1.2
    * Intel i7 950 1366
    * 12GB RAM (2 x Corsair xms3 DDR3 6GB3 x 2GB) Model TR3X6G1600C9
    * Gainward GeForce GTX 460 2GB GDDR5
    * Antec 850 Watt Truepower Quattro
    * Kingston 128GB SSD (system)
    * Western Digital 2TB Black 64MB SATAII (data)
    * Win7 64-bit
    * No apps installed other than apps, drivers from MSI and Gainward CDs
    * Windows Experience Index =  4.9:
       - Processor =         7.4
       - Memory =            7.4
       - Graphics =          5.9
       - Gaming graphics =   4.9
       - Primary hard disk = 6.2
    System is very laggy through the Menus and installs take ages to complete. Task Manager does not show massive CPU utilisation or disk I/O. Have not done anything to the BIOS whatsoever. So far, my elderly notebook performs better :(

  • Seeking help with Big Bang XPower board, please.

    Hi Guys,
    I'm a noob to upgrading computers and am hoping somebody can help me.  I have never overclocked anything before or changed BIOS settings.  However I just installed the Big Bang XPower Board, into my old Dell XPS 730x and added an Intel 980X chip running Win 7 64bit.  I have read about the BIOS settings on the MSI site but I am still not sure about some things.  I have listed my hardware below and am trying to figure out how to get the best performance out of my system.  I would like to know what other BIOS settings to change to get the most out of my 980X CPU and RAM without completely stressing my system.  I want to utilize this board and the components but I also don’t want it running at max non stop... so somewhere in the middle.  I’m in the USA if that matters as well.  If anybody could guide me as to what I what I should change in the BIOS for this id really appreciate it.  Here is what my system consists of: 
    5 HARD DRIVES:
    (1) SATA II WD 3gb Hard Drive @ 1.5TB

    I have all my hard drives on the SATA II ports as suggested by a forum member.  I have my Blurray on a SATA II port as well, and my other two disk drives on the SATA III ports.
    I do have the system up and running, its just not that fast, and I expected with this setup for it to be BLAZING.  Hence why Im looking to you guys.  I currently have the BIOS set to “failsafe” mode, b/c if I don’t when I turn the system on, it runs for 5 seconds, then reboots, the comes back on and loads windows... that seems odd… yet it doesn’t do it in failsafe mode or if the Genie button is pushed. 
    I also don’t want a RAID setup, just each drive acting alone.  Yet, the Maxell software still runs before Windows starts.  Is there a way to stop that since Im not using raid?
    Any info, advice, or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Ok, so I’m not really making any progress with this.   I haven’t done anything with the memory yet b/c I trying to solve the booting issue first.  Here is what I have tried, but nothing worked:
    Set BIOS to “optimal settings” which causes booting issue (turns on, then instantly turns off, then boots win 7 successfully).  I shut down and restarted 2 times, but both time I still had the booting issues.
    I disabled EuP 2013, and still had the booting issues.
    I disabled EuP 2013 and Spread Spectrum, but still had the booting issues.
    So I reloaded “failsafe settings” and it was fine.
    STARTING OVER I loaded “optimal settings” again, and disabled everything in the CPU Features menu except for Hyperthreading, Execute Bit Support and Intel Virtualization Technology.  This also did not solve the booting issues.
    I added the disabling of EuP 2013 to the above, and still had the booting issues.
    Then I added the disabling of the Spread Spectrum to the above, but still had the booting issues.
    So now I am back to the “failsafe” settings.  Could this be a hardware problem, or not since it works in failsafe mode.
    I also wanted to point out I only added they extra 3 stick of memory a week after I started having this problem.  So while there are 6 sticks of memory in now, I have had this booting issue since the first time I booted the new mobo, and for a week of only have 3 memory sticks.
    So any idea what I should do now?  It just seems odd that failsafe works, and turning OC Genie on to max it out works, but nothing in the middle. 
    I look forward to hearing back from you guys.

    P.s.  Dilburt you asked about the power supply im using previosuly.  Heres the info i got:  "The Dell 1000 watt power suplly 12 volt rails are rated at 18 amps each. That's why only 2 x 6 pin PCIE power connectors vs the 8 pin PCIE connectors."

  • MSI Big Bang Xpower D4 Debug (No POST, No Beep)

    -MSI Big Bang XPower Mainboard
    -Cooler Master  Silent Pro Gold 1000W PSU
    -MSI GTX460
    -Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 3 x 2GB RAM (CMP6GX3M3A1600C8)
    -Intel Core i7 970 processor
    Issue:
    While power on, the debug indicator gets to d4 (indicating problem initializing the memory per the handbook) it doesn't POST and no beep.  I have tried with just one RAM at the DIMM1 position, but whatever I tried it consistently gives me d4.
    Any help is much appreciated

    True, Intel i7 970 native speed is in fact 1066, however, the RAM you have can easily be set to say 1333 9 9 9 24 tRFC 88, maybe even 59, CR 1 @ 1.5V's & I would almost guarantee it is going to work. One tidbit they didn't tell you, is the i7 970 & 980X 32nm CPU can be run with up to 1.8V's DRAM Voltage. That's per the current Intel datasheet (absolute maximum chart). Look it up for yourself. I don't want to argue with Intel, or the stock/default of 1066 @ 1.5V's as 100% correct to the letter of the law, but I have some of that RAM & two of these boards, & I know they will perform above 1066. Unless of course, either the board, CPU, or RAM just won't cooperate. With three things in the mix, any one of them can make or break what can be done. Your RAM can be, unless something is grossly wrong with it, be made to run stock/default of 1066 speed @ 1.5V's.
    This is a BBX with Corsair RAM & an i7 970. Wonder what Intel would say about this?
    DRAM Voltage in BIOS set 1.66 (WARNING i7 970/980X only), CPUID H/W Monitor shows 1.65V's. Always consult the latest & most current component datasheets! Know the specs!

    I am doing my first build, and do not see several components I have selected (some already purchased) for my new system in the MSI compatibility literature for the Motherboard.  Can someone please advise if any of the below components will cause issues?  I have done much research and believe I am OK, but would like to have confirmation before proceeding.  As an FYI, I will be doing video editing with the new system:

    2.) If I buy 1600 and do not over clock, it will perform at 1066 without any negative effects - is this correct?  This is assuming XMP is not enabled.  I will not be a heavy over clocker, but want the capability just in case.

    Allan: no other memory is supported... no matter if the board supports 1600 or even 2000mhz

    That being said, I guess I am between 1066 with the lowest CAS Letency I can find at 3x4GB, or go with the 1600 (I researched and agree 3x4GB is better than 6x2GB).  As intel is against the second, based on what I am reading, I am leaning toward 1066.  If so, can I overclock the 1066 to something higher or is this the max speed?  Help!

  • MSI Big Bang-XPower powers off then powers on to boot to OS

    Not sure if this issue has been addressed on the forum yet. I purchased a new MSI Big Bang-XPower motherboard this past week ,with Intel Core i7-990X as the cpu. I'm using SILVERSTONE SST-ST1200-G Evolution 1200W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD as the power supply and Kingston HyperX 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) for memory. This is in a Lian Li X-1000 chassis.
    I built the system completely and loaded the OS (win7). I noticed during the updates, when the system would need to reboot. The system powers down, then it would power back up, then power would cut off and the system would restart and load right to the OS. I finished the updates and loaded other needed software. This problem continued during the whole time, when ever I needed to reboot. I was even able to load my games and played one. No over clocking needed.
     I started my trouble shooting process,
    flashed the bios from v1.4 to v1.6 - no changed
    changed the bios settings to boot something(can't remember) default - no change
    So I started eliminating anything connected to the motherboard. - no change
    I'm down to the motherboard, cpu, ps and one 4gb stick of memory - no change
    It did not matter if the system was cold or hot, still the same problem. The mb LED would go to A1 every time and almost start running again before it shut down on it's own. Powers back up and boots to the OS.
    I'm at a stand still, on what's causing this problem. I'm sure it's not the memory, because I have pulled this memory from a working system and no problems. Plus, if is compatible with this MSI board. So either it's a bad mb, cpu or ps.  All three of these parts are brand new and I still can return them for exchange.
    Anyone have any ideas or suggestions ?

    In BIOS Power Management, or Green Power, I forget which, disable EuP 2013, that should cure it. If it doesn't cure it, it has been a known odd behavior trait of Intel systems for years. Also, disable Spread Spectrum in the Cell Menu.
    Anytime a setting has been changed, driver update reboots etc., it is not uncommon to also experience the double boot behavior. This is normal as the settings are being applied & restarting itself again.
    I've seen this behavior before in the factory with Intel systems. The dual boot behavior usually was a component failure. Which I suspected and turned out to be my problem with this MSI MB. I tried disabling EuP 2013 and spread spectrum, which did not fix the problem for me. Contacting MSI tech support on the phone, was irritating and sub-par but I was finally able to RMA the MB through the online request . Since receiving the new MB and installation. No problems with the board and actually have clocked the chit outta of the board. Thanks for your reply and help.

  • MSI Big Bang XPower Power won't post (d4 debug) (again!)

    MSI Big Bang XPower Mainboard
    Rosewill 1100W Bronze Edition
    GeForce 465 Fermi

    Issue:  System powers up for about 30 seconds, the debug indicator gets to d4 (indicating problem initializing the memory per the handbook) and doesn't post. System will remain running however (different from another guy on the forum having a nearly identical problem.)
    I've tried rearranging the RAM.  If I put a stick in the first blue slot the debug reads E8. I've tried using various single sticks in the first black slot closest to the CPU (all produce D4). I've checked the CPU socket pins to make sure they aren't bent, and I've tried reseating the CPU. I've checked that both 8-pin 12Vs are connected and secure as well as the 24-pin connection. I've tried using three sticks of ram at once in the black slots with no success either. In another thread user HU16E verified on Corsair's webpage that this RAM should be working with this board.
    Finally, in another thread a user with an identical processor, mobo, and RAM (only difference on the ram being he has 1600 and mine is 18XX, I think 1886) demonstrates the same exact problem. Our video cards and PSUs differ.
    Looking for the next step in determining a likely culprit. It seems odd to me that this set of corsair ram might be incompatible, but that's my current hypothesis because it seems even stranger to me that another user would be having the same problem. The chance of both of us getting faulty motherboards, faulty processors, or a full set of faulty ram seems remote.
    Edit: Also did a benchtop test with just the PSU/CPU/CPU Fan/1 Stick of ram in the first black slot, D4 error.

    Yes, please give that a try. Use just one stick in the primary black DIMM 1 slot.

    Unfortunately, no. If your board is a version 1.1, it should have a current enough bios to at least allow it to fire up with your RAM. Do any of your friends have a DDR3 rig to test your RAM in to make sure all the sticks are good?

    If they are from the same manufacturing batch....... hmmm! Possible.
    Added: One of the forum users, Aaron, had 4 bad boards in a row. X58 Pro-E I believe they were. Same batch. MSI needs to know right away if a certain batch is having these problems. Have you got a ticket in with them yet explaining your difficulties?

    I have a problem my board did not post , did not start and i have the DEBUG LED CODE # 67 displayed.

    When I put the power on, the power supply activated fans and drives spin, all the LEDs on the motherboard light up but nothing appears on the screen.
    No video signal at all and the computer stop and restrart every 15 seconds. When these reset occurs there is no beep on the speaker , nothing at all, no flashing screen either, nothing.
    The DEBUG LED display a sequence of flashing numbers 19 - 60 - 19- 60 - 67 and stop showing still the number # 67 for about ten seconds and then he reset again.
    I carefully followed the instruction manual for the installation, I installed the memory modules in slots 1 3 5 7, i put my video card in slot PCI-E2. all the power wire are connected correctly 1 x 24 pins ATX, 2 x 8 pins ATX, 1 X 6 pins , all the wire from the front panel are correctly connected to the m-connector in JFP1 & 2.
    Did i forget something, I don’t know what the debug led code # 67 exactly mean and what i have to do to fix-it
    Someone has an idea what is wrong or have any suggestion to solve this issue.

    I followed some advice to remove the memory modules and this is actually caused by the use of memory but you will see I still have a curious bug.
    I referred to the instructions manual to the letter for the choice of DIMM SLOT to put the memory module in single, double, triple and quad channels.
    If I install 1 memory module in the DIMM SLOT  1 to operate in single channel, everything is normal and the motherboard  POST normally and show  the SETUP SCREEN.
    If I install 2 memory modules in  DIMM SLOT  1 & 3 to run in dual channel, everything is normal and the motherboard  POST normally and show  the SETUP SCREEN.
    If I install three memory modules in DIMM SLOT 1 - 3 - 5 to run in triple channel, everything is normal and the motherboard POST normally and show  the SETUP SCREEN.
    As soon as I install four DIMMs modules mémoiredans SLOT 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 to run in quad channel, the motherboard  freezes and does NOT POST and show  code 67 on the debug led and has reset itself every 20 seconds.
    I tried all my RAM modules alternately in both single channel and everything works normally.
    I did the same thing in rotation for both dual and triple channel and everything is still normal with all fourth memory modules individually.
     As soon as I put a fourth memory module it freezes and displays the code 67 or L9 dependent side as you look. 
    So my bug is my motherboard MSI Big Bang Xpower II do  not want  to work in quad channel.
    Do you have any idea where I should look for, is a setting in the BIOS  , I have flashed the bios to the latest version V1.5
    I included the screenshot of the BIOS to see if you can  notice something wrong.

  • Big Bang XPower II no longer boots, no video

    I'm having issues with my Big Bang XPower II not booting. First, some background information...
    For a couple months my computer has been acting strangely. My monitors would randomly go to sleep, and nothing would wake them (mouse movement, keyboard presses, etc.) In addition, my computer would be no longer accessible remotely through RDP, SFTP, Chrome Remote Desktop, etc. Although if I was for example watching a video I could still hear it playing. Note, this happens when the computer is being used, and while sitting idle, even with the monitors off (turn them on and they immediately sleep). The only way to recover from this was to forcibly reboot the computer.
    I suspected the graphics card but had no time to test it (I'm in the middle of my last semester of classes for my Computer Science undergrad.) Then a few days ago when this happened and I rebooted the computer per usual I got a message stating "System BIOS detected a non-Windows 8 Logo graphic card. There is no GOP (Graphics Output Protocol) support detected in this card. I reset BIOS settings to default and only changed the things that I needed to adjust to be able to boot, and was able to successfully boot after that. At this point I was pretty sure by graphics card was bad, so I ordered a new one. I got that message one more time, and then last night my monitors went to sleep randomly again but this time when I rebooted I heard one longer beep followed by two shorter beeps, and then nothing. I tried a few times cutting power, rebooting, etc. to no avail. It was late at night and I was getting the new graphics card today so I just left it alone for the night.
    Fast forward to now; I installed the new graphics card but I'm still having the same issue. Now I'm thinking it might be the motherboard. So far I've tried disconnecting all USB devices and SATA cables, I've tried all four of my RAM cards one at a time in each of the 8 slots (when they are in the secondary slots the computer never POSTS or beeps or anything just shows "60" on the 7-segment display, when they are in the primary there is no change, still 3 beeps.) I've also tried both the new and old graphics card in each of the PCI-E slots, as well as different PCI-E cables from the PSU. I've tried changing the BIOS switch from A to B and using the Multi-Bios button and I've cleared CMOS for all three BIOSs (I believe they're each a different version.) At this point I'm out of ideas. When the beeps occur the 7-segment reads "d6" if BIOS A is selected or "dE" if BIOS B is selected. Here's two links to videos I took of all the numbers it runs through before showing the temperature:

    Any help is greatly appreciated. I really need to get this fixed ASAP - it's critical I have the PC to use for my assignments and I don't really have any time to delay. Unfortunately the only other PC I have access to is a 7 year old laptop, so I don't have a ton of parts to swap out with. Also, I haven't yet overclocked this system or anything as I need it to be stable, so there wouldn't be any issues from that. Thanks in advance for your help.

    X79 chipset has no on-board graphics, but as I said I tried installing a brand new card with no difference.

    Are you using UEFI Win8.1?
    This message only shows when you enable windows8/8.1 feature in BIOS (for UEFI OS), and the VGA card do not supports UEFI.
    BIOS default should be "windows8/8.1 feature disable", you can check this setting.
    Yes, I am using UEFI with Windows 8.1. I've been doing so with that graphics card for over a year, and I cleared CMOS (sucessfully, because I had LEDs turned off and turn on when power is restored enabled, and after clearing CMOS both of those reverted) so the Windows 8/8.1 Feature should be set to disable anyways. Since I have no working video output I have no way of verifying or changing anything.
